His 'you feeling like you run it huh??' line was a perfect closing to the verse.

^^^Exactly what I've been tryna say. We Christians are quick to mock Mohammed, Buddha etc but get all mushy if 'Jesus' get mentioned. How hypocritical
We need to start respecting people's opinions on issues.
Even Jesus preached that.
my guess is that if it was said about allah, the Moslems would have started a jihad or some riots, and here some folks are saying christians are making too much out of it because some of them are talking.
Amazing at what some so-called christians say. huh
This is exactly what I was talking about.
One man decides he has the right to use himself as a yardstick just because we disagree on a simple matter.
All I want you to do is to make an informed judgement based on the context not your pre-conceived opinions on the personality.
Is that too hard??

I believe Buddha cannot save me . . . should I be shot for saying that??

I come from the school of thought that believes that no one has a right to take offence if none was meant in the first place.
That's why I try to clarify intention first.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Football League 2009/2010 by eldee(m): 11:24pm On Dec 24, 2009
Sir El Dee: New NFL Carling Cup Is Not Our Main Priority.

Sir El Dee has revealed that his team will still place the NL Fantasy Premier League and The NL Fantasy FA Cup above the newly established NL Fantasy Carling Cup in their list of priorities. Despite his team's automatic qualification for the tournament, he refuses to see the NL Carling cup as a trophy to be reckoned with.

This decision which was earlier predicted by pundits was confirmed in Eldee FC's pre-match conference before Saturday's round of games. When asked if he was scared of meeting Galacticos FC again in the NFL Carling Cup fixture, he joked; 'Does anyone actually care about the Milk Cup?? We're after bigger things this year, that trophy is not even silverware, it's plastic.'.

He further added that he would use the Cup as an opportunity to test the promising stars from his academy.
'Rafael and Aaron (Ramsey) have been begging for a start, this will be a chance for them to show what they've got to offer, now I don't need to send them on loan to Chamo Athletic anymore' cheesy cheesy

This news will come as a relief to Librans FC boss Reama Squared as the League Cup is the team's only realistic chance of getting silverware this season.

ritchboy:
stop screaming u know the demon said it's best to die
and even if Jehovah witnessed bet he'll never testify.
- D'evils
We'll need the rest of the verse to explain this.

The bar before that explains that he's giving lead showers(Mafia style spraying executions)
He's killing the witness to make sure there's no chance of snitching.
The wordplay on Jehovah witness is like a brag to prove that everyone is too scared to testify.

hax:
I do agree that going to church and forgetting God after is a waste of time. But there's no one God can't save. So they do have a point if they say he blasphemed. Where there's life, there's hope. It's not over until 'she' dies. He shouldn't have said that either way.
It's an opinion . . . and it's a justified one at that.
It's only Christians that actually believe they get a clean slate for just saying their prayers.
If he doesn't believe in that, he has the right to say it, let's stop being hypocritical here.

Christians are the biggest bullies in religion.
Christians label Muslims as violent and African religions as voodoo but nah . . . Jay-Z expresses himself and it's wrong.
Come on.

hax:
That's one way to look at it. Not that I see the connection though. lol
It's simple . . . he was talking about girls that move into NY in search of fame/fortune and then decide to get it the rough way.
That line was about these chics that slag all week and then decide to go to church on Sundays to think it'll erase everything.
'Life starts when the church ends' - Your mistakes of last week don't automatically go away just because you spend one day a week in church and go back to your regular life.
Just see how the rest of the verse points to this.

who sip the lite casually, then gradually become worse,
don’t bite the apple Eve,
caught up in the in crowd,
now you're in-style,
and in the winter gets cold en vogue with your skin out,
the city of sin is a pity on a whim.
good girls gone bad, the city's filled with them,
Mommy took a bus trip and now she got her bust out,
everybody ride her, just like a bus route,
Hail Mary to the city your a Virgin,
and Jesus can’t save you life starts when the church ends,
came here for school, graduated to the high life,
ball players, rap stars, addicted to the limelight

How can you not like this song?? This is as metaphorical as the word goes.
From referencing the 'The big apple' to the way he played with words at the begining of the third verse.
He literally painted a mental picture of his endz in the first verse . . . I feel like I'm from NY.

Probably myth for most black women except some ghetto-raised ones.

It would be more apt to ask "Disrespectful Black Woman - Fact Or Myth?"
Yeah . . . that's true.
The ghetto-raised pips are raised to be bitter.

The female ghetto-breeds feel the need to resist racism, sexism and classism. Meaning they practically hate almost everyone.

Some Dude Talking About the 'Jesus Can't Save You' Line.
He tries to imply that Jay-Z is going on a head-on opposition against christians.
And even talks about the 'life begins when the church ends' line.
And he goes on to call Jay-Z the anti-christ. grin grin grin

What can I say, I was there checking out the Forever Young(which by the way is the hottest song out there right now) video when I came across a couple of erm . . . anti-Jay-Z videos.

To eliminate any chances of me influencing decisions, I'll try not to put in my own view so early into the topic.

These are some of the lines that have helped to fuel the controversy.

The truth is that Mode9's fans are disciples. They'll always cop his records. Rugged fans are the fickle pop-type. They'll hop off his ddick if he isnt considered to be hot anymore.

Hope is not lost. Rugged can still drop a mega-diss to Mode9 at year-end to revive his situation.
Come on . . . it's not about the fans.
Mode did the beef song, went on to other things and kept releasing good hits, he even kept himself relevant by taking shots at M.I.
