^^ lol. So you agree you cannot complain right?

Kai, you don spoil finish. You chop free movie, then on top free dinner because you didn't like the free movie.

Its like going to a free concert, not liking the music, and then asking your ticket refund and an extra coupon for free snacks as compensation for your suffering thru a free concert . . . spoilt boy  grin

Oya pick one movie from the list jare.
I'm complaining because I was underpaid . . . the punishment of sitting through that movie deserves one week of Brazilian cuisine for me to recover.

I really don't understand this comment. This is a compilation album. K16 was nominated on 4 people's lists. That's why he's there. Its not as if he was not mentioned and then rapjunkie just added him. Why didn't you comment when he was being put in peoples lists?
To me the mixtape (if you actually listen to it from start to finish, which i'm sure majority of you haven't even bothered to do) sounds balanced. You can't insert every track made inside there.
There some tracks i would have liked, like MI - BEEF or Ruggedman feat Chinaydu, which i think are both very hard tracks, but i'm not crying about it. I wouldn't have minded losing OYA for one of them, but Oya is a good track still and deserves to be there as far as i'm concerned.
If you go back to the previous thread and read through the nominations, all the tracks on the tape were nominated by somebody. Maybe you don't agree, but basically what you're saying, is your opinion counts more than others.
There's nothing stopping any of you from making your own mixtapes and filling it with your own personal tracks that you like. Nobody is even commending the effort by rapjunkie. At least he did it.
The same thing killing naija today. People prefer to criticize after somebody has already done it. But go and do it yourself, noway.
WTF!!! I refuse to comment. grin grin

I cant please everybody. The RCJ is setting up a a formal inquiry to look at the roles of the individual members of the committee and to investigate if anything improper took place.

I will keep you informed.
You can please most people, like you did last year.
As I said . . . by asking for votes you're obliged to take their opinions into consideration, you're complaining bout how Tosin is the cause of Nigeria's problems, but you don't think your INEC State of Mind is?? grin grin

Oga . . . ko le to yen, if you want a consolation Under-G is on Notjustok's Top 20 for 2010.

@Rapjunkie

You just like creating wahala for yourself . . . this thing is way easier than the way you're making it look.
Have you wondered why the one you created last year got so many co-signs as soon as it came out, is it that these same people decided to turn haters overnight?? Come the the eff on.

We'll never know the best tracks of 2010, you have your discretion, but you should let it take a back seat . . . take it from me, I host Warcraft battles for fun. The fact that they're taking it serious is a blessing for you, you think they'll care about El's 2010 Mixtape??
Voting is just you taking the hard job out of your hands and placing it in theirs, giving them a sense of responsibility for the results, like . . .'well y'all chose it . . . it's your fault'.

To them, it's not about the songs, it's about the principle, we were there when this started, it was 'how about we made a mixtape with the votes of this thread and call it . . . ', the fun is in the fact that it's everyone's opinion put together.

I'm still a fan though, but I don't think there' a big difference between three NL tracks and four.
You're the only person in this world th's listened to Star . . . what exactly is wrong with Rhymetite?? It got most votes for Modey. . . Edondeymadt is another one . . . but then seven of your ten choices made it, come on . . . that's some PDP ish right there man, and you blame Toin for going Mel Gibson on you??

It was a very hard balancing exercise but MI and the chocolate city crew are all over the mixtape. He is represented very well.

They feature on 7 out of the 24 tracks. That's over 25% of the mixtape.

Lets just be objective. smiley
It's not my fault that they're the best clique this year . . . if you did an Afropop mixtape last year Mo-hits woulda been on 95% of the thing.

Music/RadioRe: El Recommends: 2010 In Nigerian Music - As It Happened by eldee(op): 1:57pm On Jan 02, 2011
2. 'Mo Lenu bi . . . '

The Date?? 14th April 2010 . . . The Source?? Inhouse whispers, like every other true story in Nigeria . . . The Incident?? Nigeria's fastest rising rapper was involved in a 'mild' accident. . . The Reaction?? 'These rappers need to chill and protect their careers'. A day later came the real news with a full report, Dagrin was involved in a serious car crash, hanging for his life in a Lagos Hospital. 'Shock' isn't the word I need to describe the way people felt, it's an emotion torn between anxiety, hope, pain and helplessness. The whispers got louder . . . Dagrin was in a coma, prayers increased.

And then the sad news came, Dagrin died in the coma after a heart-attack, the accident had taken his life, he had died as a result of interior bleeding. Like seriously?? Interior bleeding?? At a hospital that was built to train our future doctors?? Our then President was receiving expert medical attention in an unknown location while our hospitals were in a questionable state (and I’m being soft here). The anger mixed with pain hit us . . . blames started flying around.  Shock turned into denial . . . and anger. . . and helplessness. . . and loss . . . and that one emotion that’s hard to describe.

And we cried . . . oh yes we cried, we cried because this got us pulled back to reality, we cried because this wasn’t something a simple diss-song could solve, we cried because this wasn’t one of his ‘I made it from scratch’ stories, we cried because he touched us, we cried because he related to each and everyone of us. We cried because we saw a legend taken before his prime, we cried because we saw that our legend was only human. We cried because there was only one person born of a woman that saw this coming, we cried because it was Dagrin.

And what happened next is what was more shocking. . . it was the fact that we smiled afterwards.  Yep, that’s what we did . . . we smiled because we just saw the interview where he said ‘I’m not Jadakiss or 50 Cent’, we smiled because we just heard a five year old saying ‘Mo lenu bi . . . ‘, we smiled because we just heard him on the same track with New York’s Iceberg Slim saying ‘mo le gba Calabar dey Canada’ . . . we smiled because we just heard him Barack O’grin right next to Vector.  We smiled because we got so much for a legend just before his prime, we smiled because there was only one person born of woman that wanted us smiling at that time, we smiled because that was Dagrin.

Dagrin is an icon, he proved that it’s possible to be unrepentantly Nigerian in this era of Nigerian music and still be loved, he proved that music is a unifying factor by relating to people from New Road Oshodi to New York. I’m not going to stand here and say we will never have anyone as good as Dagrin at what he did, infact I know his greatest success is the fact that he raised a whole generation of people that will make it for themselves even when everyone else says ‘no’. So one of the defining moments of 2010 in Nigerian music history is actually bigger than the music, it's about the moments when we cried, the moments when we smiled and the moments we smiled while we cried.

R.I.P Barack O’grin.
