Ishilove:There is a rationale behind every treatment that d doctor gives you. It is good that all patients should be informed about their sickness and treatment. It is their right. In fact fact I make it a duty to explain to my patients what is wrong with them and what I think is causing their problem. Take for example, a man who comes in with a swollen left testicle and complaining about d pain and that he cannot sleep at night. An examination revealed an enlarged prostate. He was trying to hurry me, but I calmed him, drew a drawing of d male urinary system and showed him that treating only d scrotal swelling without touching d prostate issue will still lead to recurrence, and showed him how his problem arose. He left a happy man. But explaining to every patient becomes difficult WHEN YOU HAVE TO ATTEND TO 100-150 PATIENTS, WHICH IS USUALLY THE CASE IN THE LARGER SECONDARY AND TERTIARY HOSPITALS. You might think you made a right personal diagnosis, in fact, and still be right. But bear in mind that a group of symptoms can be explained by more than one disease. That's why we have what is called differential diagnosis. Thats where, d wealth of knowledge and experience of the doctor comes in. |
Islie:I dunno oh. You know how police people operate sometimes. Maybe they just captured people in d vicinity or they may have chased d masquerade to his compound or something |
Alnost every drug can cause SJS. A simple intake of penicillin can cause anaphylactic shock and SJS. Paracetamol can cause acute liver failure. The common aspirin we know also has its own side effect. It is not the fault of the pharmaceutical companies when a side effect occurs. There will always be that small percentage of people who will easily develop the side effect. We all should be aware that every drug under the earth has a side effect, whether orthodox or modern. |
BOUNTYDOG:You are right. It is important to note the following things about viruses. 1) Viral infections are self-limiting most times. 2)The best treatment for viral infections is symptomatic treatment, that is treating the symptoms and then allowing the virus run its full course. Example is using fluids to treat dehydration. 3)Antibiotics does not treat viral infections. However, sometimes their use is indicated because viral infections predisposes to superimposed bacterial infections. 4)Like most of us know, the best prevention for viral infections is VACCINATION. Its importance cannot be overemphasized, both for humans and animal alike. |
BOUNTYDOG:Gaining venous access is not easy as you might think. A lot of factors like, obesity, dehydration, old age and young makes it harder.... |
markmira:I have not used an infinix before, so I can't really say. I might go for an infinix because they boast of a larger RAM size, compared to Tecno. However, the two of them are similar |
markmira:Yeah, d allotted space for apps is very poor and that's whybI cant use a Tecno again. Camera is also poor, however it was not like that when I bought it . However, the Phantom A+ is quadcore |
Guyman02:As in eh, since my secondary school days, like SS1. |
markmira:The way you listed all those phones, are you sure you are not the problem? ![]() I am still rocking my phantom A+ for 2 years and. The only problem I had with it was changing the battery, and also the camera quality has depreciated over time, though it is still manageable. |
Laitesmart:My guy, I don't understand you. Can you use English, please ? |
With the craze of this masquerades and their thirst for people's money, both by begging and by extortion, it reminded me of an encounter I had about 3 years back, in 2012. I had 3 run-ins with them. 1) First, a masquerade accosted me when I was walking with my little cousins and asked me to drop something for them. I told him I had nothing for him, and he replied me that 'Mmuo', meaning the spirits, will collect their due. Actually, my faith does not support masquerades. So next the guy drew his long whip and tried to flog my then 9 year-old female cousin, I quickly stepped in and took the flogging. 2) The next episode was some days, later, I went with my cousin to the market to buy foodstuff. One of those guys that accompanied the masquerade rushed at me as I was about entering the car and asked for money, I told him I did not have any. He said he will take d mmuo's due, and men, you had to see the blood-shot eyes of this guy, the alcohol stench reeking from him and the seriousness . Oh boy, my mind said boy, this one will be too much for you to bear in d public. I just asked my cousin in d abeg whether she get small change make i drop for the guy. Immediately, she tossed me 50naira and I gave it to him and he left. Some meters, away from d point the guy accosted me, we entered a supermarket to buy bread and ice cream. I was just comin out of supermarket, almost getting to our car, when I saw another terrifying masquerade across d road. He looked at me and I looked at him. Both of us paused. He now crossed d road and rushed at me. I tried to run back into the supermarket, only for me to see myself on the ground, the bread I bought one one side of the road, the vanilla ice cream I was eating, on the other side. Only the spoon was in my hand. May God curse that stone that I hit my foot. The worst part of it, my confirm leather slippers got cut. The masquerade came to where I was lying on d floor, looked at me and laughed. I was so embarrassed. Big boy like me on d ground in a market. My cousin was just watching me from inside the supermarket laughing. If you have had a nasty encounter with one, please feel free to share yours. |
Islie:To d best of my knowledge, females do not follow d entourage of a masquerade in igboland. They can only view from a distance. |
davetwitzy:Haha, I believe d phone has that particular fault. At least two of my friends have been changing d port for sometime now, after which it will spoil. However, I am still using mine for two years + now without any port problem. The only problem I ever had with it was changing d battery once. |
niggi4life:I have been using my Phantom A+ since July 2013. The inly fault it had was when I changed d battery. The same cannot be said for some of my pals who are having issues with d charging point. What I dont like about d phone is d RAM of 1 gig, which has made me reset my phobe many times. My worst phone was a a Sony Erikson k750 i bought from a friend. The phone taught me that a 'machine' that cannot come on is worse than a nokia torch |
That was amazing. .. |
You guys should just chill and help the guy, in stead of harassing him. It is a phone of 13,5k, not even a Samsung.... Do you think it is easy staying in the hospital and be idle. The parents are coping with the situation the way they can, even though it is clearly overwhelming them. If you can help, just help him. I know you guys are bashing him because of all those fake scammers. I don't blame you guys, though |
As a doctor, I experienced my first death on the 1st of September. Despite all our frantic efforts, we still lost her. I was not happy. I really felt for the relatives. My problem, is, they never teach you in school how to explain deaths. You only watch from the side lines, till you suddenly find your self trying to explain 'what happened'. For the doctors in the house, how do you explain it Also, how was ur first experience? |
One of the rules in the book, 48 laws of power is - DO NOT OUTSHINE YOUR BOSS. Pass or ideas through her and let her give some input, no matter how small, so your job security is intact. |
I think it can be the recklessness and people huzzling to meet for their December-ish. In fact, I lost my first patient, as a doctor, on Tuesday, which is the 1st of the first Ember month, due to road traffic accident... |
Israel5:When in fact it is the opposite. I blame it on ignorance |
Good lesson..... |
Chartey:My brother, I feel you. I just remembered June 24th when we were expecting our final MBBS result to be pasted. Even though, I had already been told that I passed, I needed to see it on the board. See Bobos waiting in front of the notice board.for like 3-4 hours. Immediately they pasted it and I saw my 3Ps, I shouted " Oshe"....Anyway, you kbow how MBs deh be nah, no be everybody shout like me oh... |
Please does #3m mean 3 million or 300 thousand? |
Fastfingers:Ok, I now get you. |
laudate:Just like you said, what did she expect from concerned citizens when she posted a half-truth? People and mischiefs |
VickyRotex:Truth be said, he is no child and it is impossible for his parents to be with him always. He is old enough to take his decision. A whole lit of Albinos have persevered in d midst of persecution and discrimination. What of those ones being killed in East Africa for rituals. Have they taken to suicide? |
Op, you are very silly. I wonder when this trend of snapping accident victims instead of helping them, would stop. If you cannot offer help, shift from there and dont snap. Common 112, could help. Giving an excuse that hospitals would reject him is arrant nonsense. Some private hospitals would accept him. Every govt hospital is mandated to accept him. |
Slyr0x:Looks like a drowned rat, especially since there is wound markings. Just saying.....: ) |
TRADELYN:It is good to be honest. Around 2009 also, someone sent 100 or 200 to me, and that was unexpected. I called the person and got to know that it was a mistake. I immediately transferred it to the intended recipient whose phone number is 0706****** instead of 0806******* |
dominique:I did put my feet into it and swam thru it all and more. I can authoritatively tell you that there is no single stretch of road in Aba that does not a pot hole somewhere, not even the federal expressway. |
