when would u learn to see things from other people's perspective?  undecided
You mean like when some Muslims around here keep justification for the terror their religion unleashes?

You mean like when people post thread accusing the Vice president of having a triple sin, but with no proof whatsoever other than saying "from reliable sources"?

You mean when people do not bother to check if there is an existing thread - especially in the first pages - and go ahead to create duplicate threads?

You mean when people result to insult when they are losing an argument?

You mean when forumites see the need to bicker once their point is losing steam?

You mean when the Moderator's decision defy all common sense?

You mean when some of us get fed up and point these things out?

You mean when clones creates an account for no other reason than intent on mayhem?

You mean when the over all quality of debate nose dives?

Yeah I have learn THAT much and am still learning.

Or is it the nation that is completely messed up on every level? But nothing effective have been done to fix it in over 40 years plus?

In the mean time, I will offer my sincere apologies. You know I was once told I am rubbish at sarcasm, but this statement is an attempt. smiley
Foreign AffairsRe: New Facts On Nigerian Bomber Plot: Hoax Or Scam by ElRazur: 10:08am On Jan 01, 2010
Omo your headline is misleading and inaccurate. Based on the evidence you have provided, there is no "facts" whatsoever. Period.

All I see is a man who is doing what he has done best for years - making a career out of Conspiracy theory. He's made about 10 documentaries all along the lines of claiming there is a wider plot blah blah blah. If am presenting an argument, I will never quote such sources as "facts". It is short-sighted to say the least.
PoliticsRe: Same Old Sh-it. by ElRazur: 9:59am On Jan 01, 2010
You are on a forum where majority are mentally challenged, immature, see the need to impress with big English language, not enlightened, still think Nigeria is the giant of Africa, have faith in some sort of god will come from heaven to sort our problems, mentally lazy and highly ignorant. It should be no suprise, after all Nigeria is God's very own latrine.

Foreign AffairsRe: New Facts On Nigerian Bomber Plot: Hoax Or Scam by ElRazur: 6:06pm On Dec 31, 2009
Say what? People would go to any point to look for conspiracy theory.

For starters, the video cited won't even be considered as a credible evidence, the radio presenter is nothing but a sensationalist. Read about him here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Jones_%28radio_host%29

The so called Lawyer appears to be trying to teach the FBI how their job is done. For a lawyer, I am expect him to know there are procedures and information are only released on a need to know basis. I am sorry, but based on the interview, I am not in any convinced about him, sounds like he had a motive. He is a witness and as such should have kept his opinions to himself.

Finally, Alex gored the lawyer - it is a common ploy used in media [Anyone remember Martin Bashir and MJ fiasco??].

Please let us call a spade, a spade. The guy [Nigerian dude] was intent on trying to blow up the plane, why now try and talk about some sham or hoax going on? Come on guys, there are several witness as stated by the radio presenter and yet he appeared to have presented only one. . . Who take this kind of guys serious any way?

I will listen to the second link and make any more comments if needed.

Ibro,

In other news. . . . Christians insulted. Christian reacted by throwing stones and clashing with security officer. Apology offered. Christians cooled down. End of story.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/8435805.stm

Now, let us play the same scenario again, only this time with Muslims. Let's see.

In other news. . . Muslims feels insulted in one part of the world. Several people are beheaded.  Severe riots and demonstration across the world with Muslims chanting "Death to Amerikka". Churches are burnt down [even though they may have nothing to do with it].

Week 2. No Influential muslim figure is coming forward uging for peace and restraint.  More sporadic killings and demonstration. . . Anger eventually fizzes out. There is peace and calm after three weeks of riots by Islam lovers.

I have no doubt in my mind, that is how the events would have played out if Muslims was included in the scenario.  grin grin

A tad disappointing, I genuinely thought you to be above such obstreperous behaviour. Here is the difference between the link you provided and the one above; one has a verifiable news source link provided and the other doesn't. I really shouldn't have wasted my time. . . . . you are more concerned about saving face and "winning" an arguement than having any meaningful discourse. You can continue the dialogue with yourself, I am not interested.
I do not believe in winning, I do however like to beat people like you down with your own bulls.hit logic. The overall picture of what I have said all along was once again shown in that thread, I brought it to your attention as you appear to not seen any of the points I raised. Besides, you take your news source from forums, so I did the right thing and gave you one.

Anyway, It takes two to tango, if you are taking your ball home, then that is fine by me. smiley

You can stick to whatever,  But you are are sticking to is completing out of cognitive content.
I am not the type to rip into people for trying to come across as an intellect, educated, well spoken etc. But do you even have any idea what you are talking about? You know, intelligence is not all about trying to use big words to convince or "dabaru" your readers on a forum. But in some ways, intelligence can be measured in how you conduct yourself as a moderator. . . . . I am afraid, it leaves room for a lot to be desired.

You know, they say it is best to keep silent and let people assume that one is a fool, than to talk and remove all doubts. Your statements above removed all the doubts.

I asked you several questions, but you appear to have chicken out, and instead post some lame comments. Seriously, with approach like yours, I am questioning how seun managed to appoint you as a moderator. No offence, but YOU suck at it.

Here is another reason why you are not effective. The thread here [see link] have nothing to do with politics, yet it appears to have gone into two pages and still open. Remember when I said I can do better than you? Thread like this should not even be allowed in the first place. But it appears you are a puppet, and until your strings are pulled by your master, you are nothing but a lame duck. smiley

I am of a different views. I have my photos up there, including one I am almost semi-naked [nothing saucy mind you] and it is set so that only people who I want them to see it can see it. My telephone numbers, DOB, are not even included and before the changes, no one can find me on facebook, unless I want to be found. But now, like I said before, it is a different story. I have taken everything off. The new terms and conditions give way too much power to facebook and also allows for intrusion of privacy. smiley

But the problem is that she neither txt nor call since we met coz i don't know if she's still interested. I need your advice on this ladies.
You appear to have pestered a bit too much for her numbers. You appear to have shown too much interest in her. Those two things leaves you in a weak position. Call her a couple of times and just try and talk without letting your "butterflies in the tummy" effect take over, if she wont call or respond to you after, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Amusing. Don't take offence, but your stance is inconsequential to me so I don't even need to "deal with it" to begin with, you are free to do what you want for all I care. I was simply pointing out that a lot of the times a news article is enough to spur debates. Would rather have him just post the article than him posting and following it with a lame attempt at being insightful like - "this is bad news". If people had an opinion about it they would post, and if they didn't they wouldn't. Have a nice day  smiley.
Judging by your mentality, here is a breaking news for you. [see link below] I am sure you subscribe to dimwitted hearsay as this, instead of proper news. Please enjoy.

Omo talk to her about it. When I say talk to her, I do not mean talk down at her. Raise your concerns and offer to adjust her privacy settings. If she really cares about you, she should at least listen and share your concern, hopefully the attention of guys calling her won't have take her to the point of no return - where she won't reason with you.

On a similar note, I removed all my personal info [wasnt much] and photos from facebook ever since the terms and conditions were changed.

Your statements In bold is very ridiculous, ludicrous and besotted. There are a number of people here i send private messages to. The use of Private messages is to make effective communication with Members without any interference whatsoever. Unfortunately i Can't tell you the content of the message because it's private and i am pretty sure we can leave it that way. All Private messages sent are aimed towards the effectiveness of the section. Anyone who has received such messages can affirm it to be true. The Thread in question is no longer in the Politics section as it has longed been moved to the appropriate Section.
No it isnt. You seem to forget that your buddy made a comment that suggested that your PM was a sort of encouragement to him. When clever legs are walking, always remember that clever eyes are watching. It really do not take a genius to figure you out.

See above, I am not interested in the content, but it is not hard for anyone to make their mind up as a result of the action of your buddy. That is my opinion, that is my view and I'm sticking to it.

Another reason why you suck at moderating. Why move a bickering thread when it can be locked and deleted? You remember when I asked you what powers your wield as a moderators, I have noticed a few simple matters around here that on other forums would have been sorted with a few clicks, but with you, it appears to take forever. You know, that is part of the ineffectiveness about you I am talking about.

Again I am asking you, hopefully you will have the guts to answer this time. What privileges are available to you as a mod? You know, what are the options available to you when a spam thread or threads downgrading the quality around here needs to be removed? From the way I see it, it appears you are noting but another ineffective mod like your predecessor.

kosovo:
No Doubts,  I am sure that there are alot of people who would disagree with you on this,  smiley
shocked what is your definition of Effectiveness? wink
Yeah, you are right on that one. Only people that share your mentality. You know, the kind of mentality that is clearly not doing enough on the section that you are supposed to be effective. Yeah those kind of people will disagree. You see, it is their palaver, their prerogative, their problem, not mine. In other words, disagree all you want but my points and observations are valid. smiley

the guy is an outright comedian.
i wonder why he cannot just try to communicate in simple english like an educated person (which i assume he is).
In addition all these sycophantic praises directed towards Seun makes my skin crawl.
I just wonder if this Kosovo chap expects any sane person to take him serious with such sycophantic butt licking comments.
Butt licking is the least of your worries. I stopped taking him serious the moment he was encouraging spam, duplicate threads and whipping up further divisions. Oh you just get in a heated debate with someone help bent on posting crap upon crap that is clear for all to see, only for Kosovo abuse his position by using it to send questionable private messages to such individual who is posting crap.

Seriously, what kind of moderator promotes rebellion and animosity on a forum? What kind of moderator encourages spam and I.diotic posters?

His attempt to be intellectual I can deal with, but his constant butt kissing of seun and failure to be effective is just one of the many reasons why he is the George Bush of the moderating team. Grade A clown.

Sky Blue:
No offence intended but I am not bothered about who or not agrees with your point of view, I speak for myself. I search for Nigerian news but I wouldn't have actively gone to search to find out that Yemen has ordered its embassy to stop issuing study visas. This is an online forum and the rules are not defined by you. In most cases news articles are enough to instigate debates on their own because guess what, people can think for themselves and have their own opinions. If you didn't have an opinion to post about the issue you didn't really have to. If I had an opinion to post on the issues raised by the article, I would have; the poster posting or not posting his own opinions and me having views of my own are not necessarily mutually exclusive. So what on earth did you want him to say as a comment to the article raised? "This is bad"??
Dude, I don't know when you started using forums, but posting news link especially when there are existing threads etc are nothing but a waste of bandwidth [Cost money you see] and drags down the quality of debates here. It is very weird to put it mildly, when you come onto a forum to get news, when you can instead go to the source directly.  What if along the lines of copy and paste and things changes and error was included?  It makes no sense to be honest.

My reaction is born out of the continuous nose dive in quality around here. Have a look around, I have raised this issue several times etc. You see, I do not have to "define the rules around here" before taking active action. Your type of mentality is what is plaguing this forum [and to some extent Nigeria].
I am not sure if you heard the saying "Non-sense/bullshi.t/evil flourishes when good men do nothing"? If it gets on your nerves that I am keen on keeping the quality up then so be it.

The forum also serves as an information source and I wouldn't have known about this news if the poster hadn't posted it. During the Ekiti rerun elections there were one or two posters who were giving us information on the ground by their postings, keeping the rest of us informed on things happening on ground and a lot of people appreciated it, including me.
Again I asked you, since when did you started using forum? Primarily, a forum have been about a place where people can share their views, debate intellectually and not just post news link. This is section falls under category of a serious debate and the action of the OP is not in line.
Again I am telling you, if I want to read about news, I have my RSS feeds/readers and bookmarked news sources to turn to.

Look as for the example you painted. It tells a lot about you. If you really know where to look online, you will get your news. Having news delivered via copy and paste method is prone to several errors etc.

I won't keep engaging with you on this. If you don't like my stance, tough. Deal with it. I will continue with telling people who refuse to engage their brain to please do so. You know, we may just have [god forbid] better debate and quality of post around here.
