Foreign AffairsRe: Barack Obama Vs Mitt Romney : Election Night Thread by Elueme: 4:57pm On Nov 06, 2012
For sure, am gonna avoid what happened in 2008; not sleeping a whole night because I was monitoring the counting and the college votes. I still remembered Obama unofficially being declared winner( around past 4 or 5 a.m local time )during the counting of California vote which had about 50 college vote( can't be too sure now).. I was Obama's biggest fan in Nigeria by self assessment because I needed a change in the world order. I just wanted history to be made that a black man could become president of the United States. I was passionate about the prophecy and vision of the Martin Luther's.. I remember NEPA taking light around 3a.m , how I sneaked in the dark to a neighbor with transistor radio so I could be getting correspondence from voice of America and BBC. But, the truth be said, after the euphoria of a black skinned man ( who has a white mentality) winning the election, has there been any other benefit to an African Negro like me with Obama presidency? The policy has not been fairer to Africa if I am asked. Bush had programs and policy for Africa though he was a disaster by himself. In a nutshell, let the will of God be done in America as they decide.. Though as a black man, I would have still loved Obama to win, maybe this time, luck could shine on us, lol, but am not gonna lose my sleep, not anymore!!!!
PoliticsRe: Buhari's Coup Was To Prevent Ekwueme From Succeeding Shagari. - Dr. Umaru Dikko by Elueme: 4:01pm On Nov 06, 2012
Igbos have to put the memory of the civil war and its consequences behind them and refocus on nationhood.. This ignomity is further tarnishing their collective image. It is a common knowledge that there was a conspiracy theory which was targeted at fighting the Igbo course but one major obstacle to the actualisation of the Igbo dream( pls, not Biafra) is inherent greed among themselves and the inability to speak with a united voice. My Igbo brothers must agree to this fundamental mistake which the north in particular has used to hoodwink them in the political scene and start from scratch. Demanding for 2015 presidency and also asking for a recognition of the biafran sovereignty amounts to double standard and gross lack of unseriousness. If I were you, I will take my time to work within my ranks, re orientate my people and unify different interest and forces among us, squash every agitation for a republic , rechannel my energy into equality in the area of state creation as well the actualisation of true federalism or geopolitical zones. Another important attitude ibos might have to exhibite to tell of their political maturity is sacrifice. The north has not voiced vehemently against the recent agitation for presidency, not because their silence is an endorsement but they see this agitation as a necessary evil and tool to destabilize your cousins in the south south in the event of Jonathan coming into the race so they can have an easy ride after a south with divergent views and writhing in political brouhaha. Presidency of 2015, may not come your way if you understood the polity but your future chances may be dependent on how longer a non northerner stays at the hem of affairs to help correct so many injustices and anomalies to pave way for equity. In essence, I am advising on your unalloyed support to GEJ since providence has brought him this far.

Waiting to see when this executive beaf by the legislators will end. If you are so pained why not wait till 2015 and contest instead of this unnecessary intrusion. Civil society groups are keeping silent to this mal behavior by the national assembly because it's Jonathan today but it could be someone else tomorrow and before we know it, it might be a national issue then.. The time to act is now!!!!
PoliticsRe: Shocker! FG Considers Paying 'compensation' To Boko Haram Members by Elueme: 11:59pm On Nov 05, 2012
taharqa: So you at this point believe everything you read from Punch or any Nigerian paper (print, electronic or online)? Anyways, what the guy was probably referring to was the 'source' that Punch relied on in writing this report.

@topic, and it will be short. I get the impression from the report that there are 2 main issues BH are contending with here: the release of some of their members that they consider 'innocent', esp their children and women (so the Security agencies have their women and children in prisons?) AND the payment of 'compensation' (diyya) to 24 of their members killed by Yar'adua's crackdown in 2009, #2million each and totaling #48million.

The 1st 'demand' is reasonable and should be easily met (esp from the report they seem not to have been demanding for the release of those who have been involved in the actual terrorist acts). The 2nd 'demand' is what would be naturally nauseating to many Nigerians; however, even if the FG openly rejects this some persons or even the state govts of Borno and Yobe would easily release the #48million for them. Bottom-line, these 2 conditions would likely be met.

I write this under the pretense that both the report and the so-called 'source' are reliable.
I have drawn an observation to your good sense of analyzing issues. Keep it up. You put on some thinking cap and certainly not in the class of shallow minded, irrational buffoons.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Has No Credible Opposition For 2015 by Elueme: 2:13pm On Nov 04, 2012
Olowu's is in a class of Nigerians who understood the time. If Nigeria remains the way it's ( don't see any visible change soon, anyway), GEJ will have an easier ride back to Aso Rock than 2011.. Bitter for some, but you have to live up to the truth.

PROUD-IGBO:
^^^Precisely! That Niger Delta ministry has been established since the time of Yar'Adua but can anyone point to anything substantial they've achieved?; besides collecting billions of naira every year in budgetary allocation for admin, overheads, and all sorts of useless projects used as a smokescreen to embezzle funds.
I share this same view with you. I will be happy if Orubebe is found culpable. He's not vision driven and pro-active as I may aspect but that not withstanding, it will so cheapening to resort to propaganda and blackmail to drive home a point as Dino is suspectedly doing.
PoliticsRe: Dino Melaye Office Burgled In Abuja by Elueme: 7:09pm On Nov 03, 2012
IYA NGBALI: We won't ignore him
I admonish you to keep a close watch on the latest accusation by Dino. He will must certainly say that the evidence was made away with. But that can't be tenable in this era.
PoliticsRe: Dino Melaye Office Burgled In Abuja by Elueme: 6:02pm On Nov 03, 2012
Dino burgled his office by himself for wants of evidence. He has beaten more than he can chew by making some spurious allegations without proof against the Niger delta ministry. Nigerians shoud ignore Dino, he's a drowning man.
PoliticsRe: National Good Governance tour town hall meeting in nasarawa(Live) by Elueme: 2:51pm On Nov 03, 2012
Al Makura should be taken up on this revelation of 66 billion naira in 16 months as federal allocation. I remembered vividly the governor saying he had never received more than 2.2 billion naira / month since the inception of his government. This new stance reveals an average of 4.2 billion naira per month.
Another objection, is the governor's self admission of spending 56 billion naira on current expenditure accounting for 85% of the total allocation. That is not good enough mr governor. No wonder you have no projects to showcase.

GBYB: I really salute your manners. But I am not the one who recampaigned after running it for one year knowing fully well what the pregnancy would give birth to, I am not the one who removed subsidy, I am not the one who proposed five years per term because I know fully well dt my pple may not give me another four years, I am not the one that wants 1billion naira for feeding allowance, I am not the 1 dt just want to be there, I am not in aso villa, I am not the president of Nigeria. I am just a citizen that can only wish for the best, wish the leaders good luck, say whenever I think something is wrong and also play my own little path. If u re not around there, you can't know whats really is happening there. If I can't do it, I would step aside.
Since you have no suggestion, you can be quiet on this issue. If you understand the intrigues and power play with this insecurity? you ll admit that the president had tried so far.
PoliticsRe: The Best Democratic President Nigeria Has Ever Had by Elueme: 11:20am On Nov 02, 2012
GBYB: Sir, subsidy removal was a plan, GEJ knew Nigerians would demostrate. Let me tell you d truth my brother, Gej only wanted to increase d price nd his subsidy removal plan was a brilliant mind game. He knew u would cry if he said 97naira so he coined you to make d decision yourself nd now u think dts democracy?
Nd u said he is d most criticised? bro am still nodding my head left nd right. I don't think u v ever lost a family to the BH bombing or close one in the Jos slaughtering cos if u av, criticizing on facebook nd twitter will not only be d issue, u'll actually want him removed.
Sincere answer bro. If you were the president of Nigeria, what would you have done in the case of Boko haram and jos crisis as a president who inherited both ? I asked assuming you understood the intrigues and politics behind these insurgencies,

I have nothing against YarAdua but to say he ARCHIEVED is what I will take you on. Pls cn you list just 4 achievements of Yar Adua in line with his 7 point transformation agenda? We ignored his failure because of te health issue he had but since you chose to be deceptive then we may have to discuss the dead . Goodluck has achieved the following in two(2) years
1. Successful completion/ implemetation of the amnesty program( mind u he was the one who brokered peace with the militants in the creeks as a vp)
2. Revival of our rail way sector
3. All time highest mega watts generated to the national grid and successful privatization of the power sector as announced by NCP on Monday
4. Electoral reforms ( which will be the bedrock of good governance in Nigeria)
5. Petroleum sector reform which is still on. Massive exposure of institutionalised corruption in the sector which all other administration had pretended never existed Etc.
Pls, follow the good governance tour @ FMI Nigeria to know government projects
N.B I have nothing against Umaru, he was a good man and I think he would have tried if not for poor health.

Orikinla:
PRESIDENT OF THE MOST CORRUPT CIVILIAN ADMINISTRATION SINCE 1960 TO DATE.
HIS ADMINISTRATION HAS GIVEN CORRUPTION A PERMANENT ACCOMMODATION IN GOVERNMENT.

There have been more fuel subsidy scams under his watch.
There have been an increase in crude oil thefts under his watch.
There have been more misappropriations of pensions under his watch.
Let me assume, you meant the opposite. He is the only president to have come out to expose these institutionalised corruption by so doing an end to their continuous existence.
So far he's the best. He's the only president who doesn't have the dictatorial tendency, why anybody can say or do anything under his watch. However week he may appear , the country needs such freedom to metamorphosize into a full democracy where all are treated equal before the law. Remember, he endorsed and sign the FOI bill, a part reason why you and I can come to this forum and talk nonsense.

From my investigations, your posts were tagged spam by our spambot and that was right. You were posting same topic(tour of Plateau, for example) more than once, in some cases in even wrong sections like programming.

I have untagged one each for each of the multiple topics and they are now visible. When next you open multiple threads for same topic, you wont enjoy this.

Go and sin no more.
You have done well, this is an attribute of a democrat. But pls unban all and save it well for future reference because even a year from now I will make reference and quote from those pictures. Nigerians deserve to know what their government is doing.
PoliticsRe: Why Are They Hiding Threads On The National Good Governance Tour? by Elueme: 5:26pm On Nov 01, 2012
SOH KAH TOA: Chei!!, no I don't believe Seun or the moderators can do this. .however, those threads look like bringing out the positive aspect of government but we are not immuned to only bad news. . If the 36 states can be toured at leadt we may be able to judge this time with evidence. I have much regard for this forum based on what I was told before joining last month, though what I am witnessing is below my expectation but I must commend the initiators. For this forum to attain that height, there should be liberty provided it's within the confines of the law guiding the forum and the country.pls, let there be equity.God bless your hussle.
They can't visit some and ignore others. My interest is not in the north but south and I hope they get there fast before I lose it. I want to compare and contrast Akpabio and Fashola, Amaechi and Oshiomohle, Ajimobi and even Jang.. Too much noise from these Yoruba people. Pls, Seun, let us enjoy this tour.NTA doesn't show the details only the town hall meetings which is often a cosmetic gathering for governors. . So far Suswan is the least performing but I learnt Al Makura is an abysmal failure, I need to see how he failed.
PoliticsRe: Why Are They Hiding Threads On The National Good Governance Tour? by Elueme:
Haba!, this is unfair. What could have warranted this? Seem like a selective engagement or rather the moderators would have said what they are not comfortable with instead of trending this path.. I follow the posts on the tour because as a nationalist, I needed to know what our state governors are doing instead of the unwarranted blames the citizens direct to the federal government, I feel states should also be accountable and held liable. The media are a washed with news of federal govt but little is heard of what individual states are doing so platforms like this as offered by this tour is one of the opportunities some Nigerians may have to know. Personally speaking I want to see what PDP and ACN states are doing so we can compare instead of relying on media's propaganda. First, I commend the effort of the Op, one countryman guy, you have afforded me the opportunity to have a knowledge of what govtt is upto in the area of capital projects and this platform has also given me a glimpse of what some states governors e.g plateau and Kwara are doing for their people. Before now, I wrote Plateau off as a performing state.
To the moderators, I may not know your reasons for this actions but i think we are adults and civilized so it will be good if the Op or the public are told your reasons. Long before my registering into this forum, I visit for information gathering and I know there are thousands of Nigerians in my shoes. First I saw it as a platform where people express their feelings on issues provided you are not breaching the law of the country and the laws guiding the forum. A citizen is privileged to have an access to information and evidence of a national tour and chose to share it with others, I think such person should be commended and not discouraged. To Seun, Jarus and co, irrespective of what we do here, we are first Nigerians, let it be impressed on us that we should put our nation first. Pls, I need to follow up with what is going on. The op of this thread said they are in Nasarawa and that's a state of interest to me because CPC government is there. I am interested in comparing and contrasting the activities of governors,
PoliticsRe: I Am More Than A Conqueror – Mrs Ajimobi by Elueme: 4:20pm On Nov 01, 2012
I stand on the solid rock of Jesus Christ and all other grounds are sinking sand.

“This is a phase and it will pass over, because I am more than a conqueror. It is the price I have to pay as the wife of a politician, particularly in Oyo State, where there is a record of dirty politics. I do not have any blemish in my wardrobe and I am never going to have any.”
Mrs Ajimobi said contrary to another rumour that she was arrested two weeks ago, she travelled with her husband to Taipei, Asia, through Dubai, for an official assignment.

She said: “I went on an official visit to Taiwan with my husband and we did not go to London. From Lagos, we went to Dubai, then Hong Kong and Taipei. From Taipei, we returned to Hong Kong, Dubai and back to Lagos. The record is there in my international passport. I can give you my passport to photocopy
.

“It was also alleged that I had travelled out of Nigeria 52 times since my husband assumed office. That sounds very ridiculous to me. It means I do not even live in Nigeria. Like I said, we can make photocopies of my passport for verification.”

.Hope madam first lady knows the consequences of lying in God's name?
.Madam , first lady travels the world with oga, in the name of official trips, serz shocked with state's fund, na wa o
.Why didn't madam first lady show the photocopy of the pass port? Didn't know it takes days to make photocopy of a few page document

I still stand with PM news, no smoke gathers without fire..
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Presents The Transformation Agenda Report by Elueme: 3:52pm On Nov 01, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: I supported and voted for Jonathan because I saw in him a person who will most likely develop all parts of the country fairly uniformly. I voted and supported Jonathan because of the following reasons:
1) completion of the dredging of river Niger. Present status- dredging of river niger has been completed.
2) completion of Onitsha port. Present status- Onitsha port has been completed and commissioned
3) remodelling and upgrading of Enugu airport to international airport. Current status- remodelling work is ongoing and arrangement has been completed to construct an international terminal.
4) construction of 2nd Niger bridge. Current status- the ground braking and actual work is expected to commence in March next yr, under PPP
5) reforms and privatisation of PHCH. Current status- almost completed.
6) completion of the Onitsha-Owerri road. Current status- COMPLETED
7) completion of Onitsha-Enugu expressway. Current status: Head-bridge to upper iweka section already expanded and COMPLETED. Work ongoing at other sections
cool Enugu-PH expressway. Current status still several bad portions but remedial works currently ongoing to restore bad sections, while we await plans for complete reconstruction.
9)opening of the Aba NNPC fuel deport. Current status: DONE, making the southeast buy fuel, not at official price of N97 per litre( except at NNPC stations) but reasonable price of N120. If not for opening of the Aba deport, with the current scarcity of petrol everywhere, fuel in the southeast would have jumped to at least N150 per litre.
9) restoration of the eastern rail line, ditto rail transport across the country. Current status: serious work ongoing, expected to be completed late 2013
10) reconstruction of failed sections of benin-ore road. Current status- one of the troublesome section has been COMPLETELY reconstructed, while we expect work on the other failed section.
11)port reforms, reduction in number of agencies at the ports and all that. Current status: substantially DONE, boosting trade and commerce.
12) And so and so forth.
In conclusion, my support and vote for Jonathan has yielded TREMENDOUS dividends for me personally, the southeast people and for Nigeria in general. You may have different opinion, but for me and my people, the achievements highlighted above means SO MUCH to us. No doubt so much still has to be done, but the destination for now is 2015.
They have eyes but chose to be blind
They have ears but they chose to be deaf

The president has done well..., my voting him is in order.
Stabilize power, sanitize the petroleum industry, reform the electoral system ... All i need in a tenure.infact mr president is working towards a distinction. Haters can hang in a high tension pole
