Nice topic I will say and it is deserving of my contribution. Post partum depression or in other words puerperal depression is one of the subgroups of post partum or puerperal psychosis. Post partum psychosis though very rare but does occur in about 1/1000 deliveries for women who are predisposed or at risk. One of the aetiological factors have been linked to stress of pregnancy and child labour/ child rearing in a patient with reduced threshold for mental disorder. It occurs in different forms ranging from psychotic features of hyperexcitement, hallucinations, grandiose ideas( holding tenaciously to unrealistic believe most of which could be religiously inclined) also known as grandiose delusion, manic state to what we call bipolar affective disorder( the intertwin of both manic( hyperexcitement) and sudden relapse of the woman into a depressive episode) to outright depression.. Puerperal psychosis often start within 2 weeks of delivery while that of a depressive episode takes a longer time for its onset. In the case of a depression, depending on the severity, the woman feels sad, self guilt, extremely suspicious of others, feeling of worthlessness and could even result in suicidal tendency or harm to the baby. As a rule, be it manic, bipolar affective disorder or depression, the babies should be taken from them in the acute phase of these illness. Without treatment, these psychoses can last many months; but with modern therapy they usually resolve within a few weeks. A small minority follow a relapsing pattern, usually related to the menstrual cycle. Mothers who suffer a puerperal episode are liable to others some of which occur after other children are born, some during pregnancy or after an abortion, and some unrelated to childbearing. Puerperal recurrences occur after at least 20% of subsequent deliveries, or over 50% if depressive episodes are included.. It will not be wise to recommend any therapeutic measures as this maybe counterproductive but it is highly advisable to alert your obstetrician who ll call on a psychiatric doctor if need arises. But one reason why this disorder has been of health concern is the tendency of people to conceal it because of stigma. I ll state unequivocally that mental diseases ain't what the African society makes it look like.. It same as developing any other medical condition. |
Billyonaire: The next sector that needs total reform after Electricity and Petroleum Sectors, is the Health Sector, I dont know how its going to be done, but its fvcking shameful that I have to travel abroad if I need to increase the size of my dick! Nigerians deserve world class Health Sector. I believe Nigeria never had a President until GEJ came to Power. Welcome back madam, but its shameful you had to go out there to treat God know what instead of doing so in your country.I second you on this.. The rot in the health sector knows no bound. The problem isn't lack of brains but the system itself from inefficiency due to lack of organization to outright lack of sustainable facilities. Part of the problems are lack of societal values as it plays out in every facet of our sociopolitical and cultural lives. I have been there and I know what i am saying. Government need to be stern on that sector to salvage the situation |
Welcome joor! Shame to sahara liars.. I say shame 2 sahara liars and their cronies. |
afam4eva: I agree that we should go back to regionalism but i won't support that the 36 states should be abolished as suggested by Chief Edwin Clark. Dissolving states will also give some groups the power to lord over others.I have thought in this line but what becomes of the federal government if you retain both regional and state governments? Won't it be cumbersome? |
Fashola is being hypocritical and talking from both side of his mouth, typical with them.. What does he mean by a better life and bla, bla bla.. After they will go back to their cubicle and be shouting SNC. To what end is the SNC if not to produce an entirely different document? I perceive that Fashola is being mischievous and fighting to deny Ekwueme some political points.. I am not too favorably disposed to geographical zone setting because I still can't wholistic phantom it but that will however, be far better than what we have at the moment. I will make further comment when I am furnished with information on the workability of this |
I don 't comment on tis romance bulshit cos it isn't real often. Catch a grenade 4 her? What happens when am gone? She takes another younger guy. I may not consider it. No vex |
I pray Mimiko takes that day, I think olusola OKE should support mimiko's re-election bid. It may be too late for that but I allign with that PDP faction because Mimiko remains a PDP member in a deeper sense so the common enemies are Tinubu , his puppet, Akeredolu and their bigotry party. |
El Rufai was and is even more ruthless than Dino Melaye so I am not surprised at this.. We are aware of his corner girlfriend who got 10 million naira gift and how about the land he confiscated from poor Nigerians and they were given out as charity to some of his concubines... Forget matter. Behind every rumors come some elements of truth |
Who is this attention seeking man, by the name Waku.. He should be one of those ACF Chieftains.. Absolute nonesense |
acidtalk: ^^^You are being too emotional on this issue.. Bad debt is a universal occurrence and it is partly what almost crippled Europe and America in the last recession which the world hasn't fully recovered from and Greece and Spain on economic cross road as we speak.. I have read your argument, and we are on the same page just that ideology differs.. Economic heavy weights all over the world survives on excessive borrowing more than they will like to pay. In as much as it is not moral , but society allows it because of services rendered and revenue accruing to the country via tax and other things as well as employment opportunities they offer. This is why the American govt would pay billions of dollars as bail out for some distressed indigenous companies to put the economy back on track. This government is fighting hard to get back some of these loans and that explain the role of AMCON and CBN's extra constitutional move on imposing embargo on further borrowing. So far nobody has committed sacrilege per se, what has happened in the past however, shady and immoral it may be, it is part of the game and as you said" God will certainly judge" so let the battle be His so we can have peace. |
DCAT: @Billyonaire:why haven't u taken ur drugs today, what is there to debate when the truth has been lied bare.i can see u are garrulous by nature and nurture. If I may ask, what truth are you talking about here? And must you resort to direct insult on a person you have not even had a prior argument with as far as this very thread is concerned? Really sad. |
Their likes( they know themselves) will still come up here like frustrated dogs ,shouting the incompetence of their president inspite of these stringent measures being taken which are gradually yielding results.. LEt me walk out of this thread before they invade it. |
Demdem: It seems to me that u cant spot the difference between Constituent Allowance (which i understand they collect) and Constituency project allowance which i doubt if any of such existYou are irredeemable. Do you understand the use of word semantics more than any other folks on this forum ? Either way It is put, the meaning are the same , so stop deceiving yourself and admit to your ignorance. Before you resume mouth running let me tell you that your constituent allawance is meant for constituency projects. |
maclatunji: He is a representative of the Nigerian people. If he is "crying",it is because Nigerians are weeping and wailing all over the country.Who are the wailing Nigerians? May be people fromtambuwal's village. Tambuwal should first play his part by consenting to early passage before holding the executive responsible for not achieving 100% implementation barely 4 months after passage. Who is deceiving who? Ain't we aware of the shady deals that go on between MDAs and the house committee members? Why are they clamouring for lopsided release if not for mischief. Abeg! , nigerians may be crying but don't need someone of tambuwal's pedigree to wipe the tears. |
Demdem: My friend, shut up. its not his duties to execute projects. His is to make laws. if ur question was "what law had he helped in enacting to help his constituent" that would have been better.I pity your ignorance. First he collects constuency project allawance to the tune of hundreds of million and secondly, a politician of his calibal should have cooperate responsibility in form of social services to his people. My quote is not to disparage Mark., he could be doing the above but just to respond to your myopic reasoning. |
I may show some understanding with the senate president let's be trutful,Mark's statement on the budget is ok, except the use of the word " mere". Budget is not yet an act until legislative input / passage however, that Tambuwal of a man talks like a loose canon and it beats my thought the purpose he's serving. I strongly think Tambuwal and his fellow rogues in the lower house have some alterior motives and as such their actions should be viewed with suspicion. His many ratings on the implementation of this Fiscal year budget, implementation of their rather malicious and chauvinistic resolutions some of which are to witch hunt their perceived enemies will further make the nigerian people take them with less seriousness. Tambuwal should stop crying more than the bereaved, which are the nigerian people. His unnecessary confrontation and show of might with the president is now disgusting and self seeking. |
These religious bigots by the name Taliban now targets teens.. I hope the unborn child doesn't become a target someday? |
Sahara reporters lied with the first report. It is in their culture to probate and reprobate and may I use this medium to tell Seun and his colleagues to stop boring us with Sahara reporter's lies.. There style journalism is most irresponsible |
That was a tactical and succinct speech.. The president has also demonstrated humility and leadership by insisting on having a Copy of that speech right in the hollow chambers yesterday. No doubt, the relationship between the executive and the legislative arm especially the house of rep hasn't been too cordial due to some concerns and mutual mistrusts but however said, the president is most likely going to work on that ASAP. The house on their part should demonstrate leadership and build trust by first guiding itself with integrity and stopped playing politics with resolutions as seen with the SEC director general's case. It is only when patriotism is brought to the fore that Nigerians will be the benefactors of these seemingly patriotic and well articulated observations.m |
THE Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) yesterday said the call by Northern States Christian Elders Forum (NOSCEF) for a Christian presidential candidate from the North in 2015 is capable of dividing the people and plunge the region into political crisis. The northern elders therefore cautioned the northern Christian leaders not to divide the North along religious or tribal line. A statement by the ACF Publicity Secretary, Anthony Sani, through a text message, simply reads: “Please help us to unite the North and not help to divide it along religious and tribal lines.” NOSCEF had, after an emergency meeting on Monday in Kaduna, insisted that the next presidential candidate of the country from the North must be a Christian, claiming that the region had had enough of Muslim national leaders since independence. A statement issued at the end of the meeting, which was jointly signed by its Chairman, Evangelist Mathew Owojaiye and the Secretary General, Mr. Iliya Yusuf, noted that among the heads of state and presidents produced so far by the northern region, only one is a Christian, adding that those that were even democratically elected were all Muslims with overwhelming support from the Christian communities. < Prev Next > Author of this article: From Saxone Akhaine, Kaduna /Nl4MQ |
I have stopped believing Sahara reporters and their conflicting reports. Moreover, the presidency will rather confide in NTA first before these liars |
torkaka: IF NA ABOUT GOOD BUDGET PRESENTATION WE FOR DON BETTER PASS DUBAI!!The presentation hasn't been this good.. Starting from somewhere. |
The end of those paid brats will so come.. Demdem has actually got some balls trying to defend the indefensible . This goes a long way reaffirming my suspicion that these guys are on a mission assigned to them by certain political class.. I await that loud and foul mouthed sisi kill come with his( sorry her) rhetorics. They are gradually being exposed just as Dino has scored a goal after all his facades. |
Oh! , they are discussing Dino's escapades..Eya!, devil is beginning to catchup with one fake activist ..well I Am just passing by, on my way back I will get the details |
Elueme: OAN has been inundated with enquiries and expression of concern by its teaming associates, admirers and friends from across the globe regarding the unfortunate report on the Sahara Reporters website which gives the erroneous impression that a purported protest during the 52nd Nigeria Independence DAy CElebration forced the MInister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, to flee the parade and brought the celebration itself to an abrupt end.The bolded clearly defines the difference between constructive criticism and criticism with much bias and partisanship as seen with Sahara reporters. In my earlier post on this subject, I have said that Sahara reporters are overestimating their popularity ratings. If only they know that they are nothing but stench, known for spurious reporting, they would have threaded with caution this time. They have mesmerized themselves and shame to them for being overzealous. |
OAN has been inundated with enquiries and expression of concern by its teaming associates, admirers and friends from across the globe regarding the unfortunate report on the Sahara Reporters website which gives the erroneous impression that a purported protest during the 52nd Nigeria Independence DAy CElebration forced the MInister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, to flee the parade and brought the celebration itself to an abrupt end. Ordinarily, OAN would not engage the likes of Sahara Reporters in any form of discourse, nor dignify their likes with acknowledgement. However, the request for response from well meaning Nigerians and friends of Nigerians has given us the compelling need to react. We wish to restate that the annual Nigerian Independence Day Celebration is the property of the Organization for the Advancement of Nigerian (OAN). It has been an annual event since 1991. OAN is a non-governmental, non-political and non-commercial organization. It is a platform built to create a network for Nigerians from all walks of life to display their Nigerian pride, promote culture, and highlight our positive contributions in the United States. The Nigerian Independence Day Celebration is just one of the means we employ to reach Nigerian citizens living in the U.S. The 52nd Independence Day Celebration which had Mr. Labaran Maku, the honorable Minister of Information representing President Goodluck Jonathan and the people of Nigeria, was a resounding success that cannot be denied. The event ran from 11 am to 6pm without any disruption. Regardless of our belief that the government and leadership of Nigeria could be doing more for the people of Nigeria, we still believe that involving representatives of the Government is an neffective way for us to get their attention and communicate our concerns to them. Through these means we hope that we would be able to encourage our leaders to adopt more effective strategies for the good of the Nigerian people. The parade as usual was made up of beautifully decorative floats, financed by corporate and faith based organizations; and cultural and professional associations who join the colorful procession from 54th street on 2nd Avenue to 44th street, followed by street activities which included speeches, cultural dances, and live performances by Nigerian musicians. At no point was there a disruption of the activities right from the parade starting point on 54th street, to the street activities on 47th street. The pictures posted on the Sahara Reporters site were taken out of context as the nine members of the National Democratic Liberty Forum who are shown in the pictures were just part of the participants in the parade. For the records, OAN has organized the most effective demonstrations ever outside of Nigeria by any Nigerian Organization. During the annulment of June 12th election, OAN coordinated demonstrations in both New York and Washington DC. Currently, we are working with several organizations to coordinate our efforts in effectively engaging the government to bring about positive and meaningful changes to the lives of our people in Nigeria. We are by this statement, disassociating the Organization for the Advancement of Nigeria from the Sahara Reporters story and emphatically state "There is no iota of truth in the report". It is at best, a calculated attempt by Sahara Reporters to gain cheap publicity on the coattail of a very successful celebration. We assure our friends, associates and admirers that the ideals of OAN will never be railroaded or distracted by innuendos and shenanigans by the likes of Sahara Reporters. We shall neither falter nor fail. Long live OAN! Long live the people Nigeria! Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria! |
