Bro, you should not be ashamed. Just man up, apologise briefly to your wife. Don't be too emotional about it. She will constantly drag you into her emotional frame because of the issue.. resist the urge to explain. Whoever she has reported you to, if they call you, just apologise briefly and move on. Don't explain too much for anybody. Remain firm as a man you be. She will come around.

Please don't make mistake of trying to please her too much. Just make sure you pay all the bills as you dey pay am. Don't panic because if you panic, you will press self destruction button.

Women don't care about morality, they only care about if you are Strong Or Weak. If you are Strong, she will forgive you and move on. But If you are weak, she will severally punish you for it till death do una part. Stand strong, sir

For example am a politician , I want to launder 100 m for example , I can easily put 5 to 10 m in my opay account and buy crypto worth that amount in a day , then continue the following day till am able to move all into my crypto acc.

From my crypto acc I can easily transfer to my US or Uk account from Binance to my US cash app acc .

In less than 1 week I will move all .

This is just to mention few ok 👌 ✌️

There are places in need of roads with entirely damaged roads.
Ojurin road towards onikokoro or Elebu or the terrible road network off Tipper garage. Just a few I remember.
These places have zero roads and billions is being used to rehabilitate "okay" roads.

Been long I listened to any Nigerian song.
All the celebrities that came to limelight after 2010 I only heard of them on Nairaland. Don't listen or know anything of their songs unless I randomly come across it as soundtracks in skits.

I'm stucked in 90s and early 20s raps.

Looking forward to Eminem's Album dropping this year
You're getting old that's why. It happens to most people. They get stuck to the music that was reigning at their prime.
Even my mum is an encyclopedia of 80s and 90s song but knows little about this era.

Just as someone noted…the 0-60mph on this Lexus suv, isn’t encouraging..even the bland 2010
Corolla or Elantra will have the same pick up with you…after 50mph…your SUV might eventually get faster than ‘em…due to its torque.
The Accord has better aerodynamics too.
I really believe he'd likely lose.
Car Talk › Re: Why Are Ford Edge Cars So Cheap? by Elxandre(m): 11:10am On Apr 14, 2024
Saynoomore:
The word "cheap" is relative.

Nevertheless, Ford is not for the Nigerian market because the demand for Ford cars is extremely low, and second hand value is abysmally discouraging! Nigerians would prefer a Toyota or at least a Honda. Whereas, Ford isn't a bad car. It's as strong and as reliable as any other car if well maintained. Replacement parts might not be as commonly found as its Toyota counterparts, but are also not as expensive as often rumoured!

I drove a Ford Escape for 10years before selling it recently. I only changed alternator twice, and Airconditioning system worked on about three times - which is a common problem with most cars used in Nigeria as we tend to have our ACs switched on veey often due to the hot weather. The car had no faults whatsoever and buyer was pleased to have bought it. He still drives it around without fixing anything.

From my experience using a Ford Escape, I'ld say it's a good car! ..and would recommend one anyday and anytime.

I hardly respond to questions like this on Nairaland because I believe that experiences differ significantly and depends on a lot of other factors! So, I dedicate this response to my Ford Escape (2005).

Buy one, use it well by maintaining it adequately, and thank me later.
Did you use the i4 or v6 model?
I like the newer escapes from 2012 but seems the turbo engine Will be a pain.

Phones › Re: Nairaland Phone Section Is Now Boring by Elxandre(m):
Most Nigerians can't afford phones anymore. I remember the days of 20k Infinix notes. 20k brand new lumia phones.
Now the least Tecno is about 100k plus.

Another fact is phones have peaked. No interesting developments anymore. It's comparable to how no one is really excited about Fridges and TVs. It's become boring.

swagifted:
but also in the west, the wide adoption of solar systems is because of expensive electricity rates and because they want to pay little bills, not because electricity supply is poor. The only way to reduce electricity bill in Nigeria is to adopt solar, like the west did... Some people, if they sell one of the wristwatches they own they can afford to have enough solar system to take them off grid for up to 36 hours minimum. Priorities.
And those people wearing expensive watches are complaining where exactly?
Most of the already live in 24/7 serviced estates.
Politics › Re: Expect More Increase In Electricity Tariff, FG Tells Nigerians by Elxandre(m): 8:20am On Apr 06, 2024
nairalanda1:
Once upon a time, we had heavily subsidised phone services. The result was that phones were only available for the rich, because the NITEL did not have enough money to give everyone a phone.

Then came the GSM companies, who were allowed to charge prices as they liked.

Things were not good at first. You could not call between networks, call NITEL Landlines, and so on and so forth. And the prices were high.

And the GSM companies made obscene profits....which enabled them to pay for imporvements, and expansion of network and bring in new technology.

Result...today, even people living in poor areas have access to phones. Something that back in 1980's was the preserve of the rich and some high level workers.
All you do on Nairaland is support elitism.
Even America subsidizes electricity for its citizens.
We are a country with 30k minimum wage.
If anything, you'd think they would make it even cheaper and constant to spark the industrial awakening we need so badly.

The tariff increase is only applicable to Band A customers!!!
It's how you think they wouldn't increase band B and the rest too. 😂
Band B is 16 hours daily. You think it'll be justified for them to pay three times less while having only 20% less electricity?
Politics › Re: Tinubu’s Government Raises Electricity Tariff From N66 To N225 Per KPH by Elxandre(m): 9:55am On Apr 04, 2024

This is even worse. This was the case many years ago under NEPA when wealthy people used to pay them to supply electricity to only those who can pay higher

Is this not taking Nigerians back to the old days of rich man vs poor man?
They're obviously going to increase other bands too. Dont mind that man.

My wife and I were just discussing this just 2 nights ago.

This is very true.

I have also stated that human capital export is possibly one of the Industries that our government need to tap into.

With over 200m population, our universities need to increase the number of people admitted to study medicine.

A country like the UK does not even have enough young ones who are willing to study medicine, and they'll throw anything at such a gesture, yet Nigerian universities keep discouraging our younger ones.

Apart from the local demand for medical practitioners, the international demand is heavier. I believe the universities' quota systems should be expanded.
We should invest in massive brain drain?

And how many abroad returnees have died in the village?
One isolated event means it was caused by witchcraft?
Health › Re: Abroad-based Nigerian Man Dies 2 Days After Village Visit, Bitten By Strange Ant by Elxandre(m): 10:45am On Apr 01, 2024
Offpoint1:
Google results are based on research, no human can research all species of creatures on earth that's why there's new discovery yearly.

How many research center do you have in Nigeria and how individual research do you have? Has Nigerian ever researched on any insect or animals? We mostly rely on the Whiteman resources.

If Nigeria was a serious country, scientists would have sworn into action and make research on the said ant to educate people about its danger, this will prevent future occurrence... But we religious brainwashed people, the best thing and conclusion is spiritual because don't understand it and that's the end. Leaving an open door for future occurrence.

Let's assume 99% of the known snakes the world is non venomous, and one Nigeria one day got bitten by a venous snake and died from the venous because we all know snakes bites aren't threat... Wouldn't it be the same thing you guys would concluded on?

We are far behind as humans and I blame religion and superstition fed to us from exception and invasion.
I honestly am not surprised Nigeria is a slum with the lazy minds we have.
I'm sure a lot of abroad returnees have returned to village without any problems but this single man is a proof of witchcraft. A lot of Africans have shocking mindsets and mentality.
