If she really loved him, she would have said yes. The same thing happened to my older brother in the UK. After saving for months to buy his fiancee a ring, he took her out to dinner at a cheap eatery to propose only to realize he'd lost the ring on the way there. She still said yes. On their way home, as luck would have it, they found the ring near a drain by the roadside, all bent out of shape. She accepted it like that and they later got married. Anyone who wishes to die so badly should simply refuse all treatment for his or her condition. The legal right to do so already exists.

In Nigeria, Euthanasia is far more likely to abused than used for mercy killing if licensed. We are simply not there yet. Spouses will simply find excuses to kill each other off, children will pay medical personnel to murder their parents for inheritance and any parent who doesn't want to bear the responsibilities of rearing children with even the slightest malformations or diseases will opt to end their lives.

There is also the religious angle. We may not be very law-abiding but all the major religions we believe in do not permit us to take a life. Who determines the criteria for who gets to live or die anyway? Everyone contributes something to society, even if it's just a lesson. Killing off people for deformities merely increased the likelihood of having psychopaths instead. That is not an option I would appreciate.

It's scripted since most times, younger ones talk less around the elders especially girls. I suspect it's also because the Igbo spoken at the table was more Anambra than her traditional Imo dialect.

There was no kissing in the movie. It was beautifully scripted and the acting was classic. It might appeal to the Igbos a bit more because of the dialogue especially the jokes which were so funny.

I believe if one is capable of giving, one can give even above 50% of one's annual earnings if one feels led to. What I don't accept is mandated giving where some churches even refuse to marry couples without evidences of payment. Christ has already paid the price.

The new testament practice by the Apostles was one of voluntary sharing where everyone sold what they had and it was used to serve everyone's needs so that no member was in lack (Acts 4: 32 - 35).
