Nothing beats "flour". Then make sure you pour an oil + water combo on the person. ![]() |
My priorities are God first, family then work or any other activities. I would drop anything in a heartbeat for my family. I also learnt independence, hardwork and generosity from them. Even though we were quite comfortable, My tough grandmother raised me to be able to sleep on the floor, cook with charcoal and firewood, nurse several kids and clean a one-storey top to bottom. I cannot tell you how strong those survival skills have made me. My mum was an educationist to the core who drove me to excel and I really thank her for that. |
Chai! The poor people. I've been seeing flooding but this looks like a hurricane scene. All their possessions must be damaged and they are all at very high risk of waterborne diseases and other infections. Too bad. I wonder what relief efforts have been put in place. |
@Seun, If you want more female participation, allow groups or threads where we can invite or approve members before they come in and drop them if their comments become too abusive. If we see their past posts, we can judge their characters and decide if we want to interact with them. You can then direct adverts based on the group contents to reach the target groups. You can still have your general threads but people will participate more if they feel they can communicate with people of class or with meaningful contributions. |
I know how bad it is in Nigeria. I've also done proposals which have been hijacked too but if you don't try, you can't succeed. Even the so-called "insider" can be the one to stab you in the back but you might just find favor with one of them so you can't let the fear of having your proposal being stolen prevent you from trying. You've got to swim with the sharks to cross the ocean. @ drzed, thanks a lot for the info. Duly noted. |
Just as I said before this thread has turned into an abusive one as usual. It seems that there are very few civil people here who can make their points known without throwing insults. There is no way I will waste my time exchanging foul language with the likes of such. |
We're very much around. Some of the discussions here can take on a very aggressive tone (too much testosterone) so they're mostly only worth watching from the sidelines. |
@meetdonald, my point was quite clear. Religious tolerance is what we need and an end to excessive arguments which are not convincing anyone. The way some so-called christians have responded here is very shameful and the same goes to our muslim brethren. So what if the other person doesn't share your faith, must you verbally or physically abuse him? Even the Christians who say they won't react the same way the muslims did to the movie are negating their actions with the words coming from their mouths. How can you share your faith or convict someeone else of your beliefs when you are insulting them or fighting them? |
Thanks for this, acidtalk! You just deepened my respect for you. My mom and grandmum left me a long time ago but I can strongly relate to all the above in several sacrifices they made for me. |
You guys are just arguing a matter that will never end. Everyone is entitled to their own point of view, even the film maker who instigated the riots. You cannot forcefully or by harsh words convict anyone of your beliefs. you should instead live by example so the people you're trying to convince will see you and want to imbibe your noble character. When Jesus sent out his disciples to spread the word, he asked them to only preach where they were accepted. So, to my Christian, Muslim, Pagan, atheist and devil-worshiping brethren, remember that we all believe that we have one origin meaning one Entity or God created us all. How we choose to worship Him or It is a matter of choice and inner conviction. The key to living peacefully on this earth is to "Respect each others opinion". Remember that God has not fully revealed himself to us and He may be doing so through that other person whose religion you despise. Everyone and everything brings a new experience with them that can teach us something and if we listen properly and understand why they think the way they do, we might even get better insight into our own religious beliefs. We spend too much time focusing on our differences, rather than what unites us. For all those who take high and mighty positions and condemn sinners, ask yourselves if you have truly never offended your own God in anyway. If he can forgive and overlook so much every second, we could at least try to be more tolerant. Instead, here we are poking holes in both the oppositions and our own tents. |
Everyone and every situation serves a purpose on earth. I believe Sharon's case and Edward's Survival was to bring about the discovery of the disease. Several women must have gone through this without a solution in the past and God has allowed it to come to Light. Pain and suffering, however bad, are only temporary. |
Please READ the article properly. 2Does it prove that Jesus was married? This document does nothing to prove that Christ was married. Everyone is however, entitled to their opinion on the matter. Religious topics will always be disputed but your heart will convict you when you hear the truth. The truth is that it is extremely important to read and study materials properly before making proper judgement. For me, the Bible far outdates the Koran and a lot of the Koran is very similar to the old testament. @Lagos Shia, all the quotes you made reflected the old laws with instant punishments but we Christians now have Christ as our means of reconciliation. Christ came to free us from the bondage of the old testament laws which held harsh punishments because man had strayed from God. He is the Bridge, the Way, the Truth and the Light and I am eternally grateful for His sacrifice. |
Please ALL Mobil Filling stations. I have been cheated at Mobil Apapa (By the Post-Office), Mobil Anthony (on Ikorodu Road opp Deloitte-Williams House) and Mobil VI (on Ahmadu Bello Way). I have sworn off them until something is done about it. |
Don't you have a physical address where we can come and buy it? |
Your numbers are always switched off or unavailable. |
Is it still available? |
Na wa, o. Na by force to chop bread sef? After all they say white bread is not good for you. My bread consumption shall also go down by 30% to compliment the price increase while I look for more vegetables and fruit, jo! |
This one na pikin wey talk say him mama no go sleep. What of the inconvenience it took them to source for the coins and hire 30 trucks. They are just evil people angry that they were caught out. No matter what, Apple remains no. 1 for quality and they stole their ideas without giving credit where it is due. Sheer rubbish. They've lost my respect. |
i personally won't advise you to buy one. When it has faults, you will not be able to find the parts to repair it with. You can buy a good quality laptop for around the same amount. |
I'm sorry to say this but I smell a fraudulent cover-up. I schooled in CMUL/LUTH and lived in that compound for close to 8yrs. That building has been there for ages. Why the sudden fire in only an NGO office? Next thing now, some funds will not be accounted for and they will say the documentation was lost in the fire. |
fubbyy: True talk, I've always see this H.I.V thing as a fraud, though I always use condom incase if am wrong, but why haven't I ever see who died of aids?I assure you that as a doctor, I have seen several and it is a terrible way to die that I don't even wish for my enemies. Isn't it better to be a bit cautious than to risk a very slow, expensive and painful death. The worst part is the innocent children and spouses of victims who are burdened with the life-long suffering, medications and stigma. A word is enough for the wise! |
Chiopatra: I remeber frying my egg with kerosene.also not washing my vegetable, wit it resulting to..... Contact your account officers in your bank. They'll tell you how. |
Go to the dental clinic in the nearest teaching hospital to you e.g. LUTH or LASUTH. they'll be the most affordable. There are no home remedies for it and the earlier they're corrected, the better. |
SHE NEEDS TO SEE A DENTIST AND POSSIBLY AN ORTHODONTIST WHO WILL FIT HER WITH BRACES TO REALIGN HER TEETH. |
She's one of the few people in entertainment who is real about her age and has achieved a lot to show for it. All you haters go sit down somewhere. I've met her and her elder brother personally and she's a wonderful down to earth type. Too bad if some blokes can't deal with her success. Happy Birthday. You rock, girl! |
Just stumbled upon this forum. I would like to find a long-lost relative, a Tiv man, Mr. Peter Sallah? who resided in Festac around 1984. I was very young when I last saw him but remember he was of average build, medium chocolate, wore a moustache and was around 6ft tall. I know he was married with kids but have no idea where any of them are or if they are alive at all but I would appreciate any information that I could use to contact them. |
Please give me the contact details of your agent in Nigeria and his office address. Send to marybng@yahoo.com. Thanks. |
I recently flew Arik from Lagos to Benin and I complained on board that it was the worst flight I had ever boarded and I must have flown over a hundred times locally and internationally now. I started praying about 5mins into the flight till it landed. I'm sure that plane is faulty to0. I've misplaced my boarding pass but if I find it, I won't hesitate to announce the flight no. Please let's all try to alert people of any incidents that happen so as to prevent any such further occurrence. |

Go to your LGA compound and ask for the VIO office. They'll sort it out for you but no need to change the number plates unless you want to do the new ones. |
