May be Yoruba's and Igbo's should declare a 21 day cease "fire" . Who knows? It just might become a habit. |
Good !, i hope the incident triggers him to increase his commitment to the service of the downtrodden in the state. |
mdsocks: Thats to show you that most nairalanders are sentimental and don,t read posts to the end before commenting.I think some other factors count in the final cost, the link, a part of the Fed 2012 budget shows a 7.5mva power injection station that was budgeted for as high as 163 million plus, and there are some others for way less that amount http://www.budgetoffice.gov.ng/revised_budget/24.%20Summary_Power.xls%202_Revised.pdf page 20 of 33. |
We need a committed "dictator" at the helm of affairs as the president, someone who will offer Nigerians tough love, like a good father will treat his spoilt brat, someone who will be guided by the constitution. (s)He must serve at most 2 terms of 4 years, instituting well thought out policies that will stimulate growth & development to the country, and more importantly instill a positive behavioural cultural change in Nigerians. Most Nigerians don't know what they want, they want to eat their cake and have it. At the end , the current disdain for rule of law by Nigerians transforms to fear of rule of law and finally respect for the rule of law. 8 years is good enough. |
Sincere 9gerian: The use of boko haram onslaught and killings of innocent Nigerians to score cheap political points is most callous on the part of ACN. Well I'm not surprised. It's in the tradition of ACN and Lai Muhammed to so do. Just compare this destructive criticism by ACN with the constructive criticism of Fashola by Aturu that was reported yesterday. Yes the FG promised to recruit 10,000 persons per state and pay them monthly stipends. But the scheme was meant to be done in conjunction with the state govt and the state govt were expected to foot 50% of the bill. Unfortunately some states(especially ACN states) have not cooperated as expected. The process has been delayed but it has taken off in some states. Also it seems that due to challenges of non-cooperation of some governors, the number of those to be employed has been reduced to 5,000 in some statesMR insincere nigeria, PDP controls 26 states in Nigeria, By now, they should have created 260,000 jobs at the least. How many have they created? When you people lose argument , you result to slander, blaming ACN, which control 6 states. ? |
GARRI (x7):Forget those liars , deceit is their middle name. Some people are so blind to the mal-administration, no thanks to unfruitful party affiliation and tribal sentiments. Incompetence in leadership is slapping them daily, and they are saying thank you SIR. |
Is it 37,000 jobs or 370,000 jobs? coz 10,000 * 37 = 370,000 jobs |
Why are people losing sleep on Fashola. because of fear he might want to contest in 2015? ![]() So the next thing is to tarnish his image. This is clearly why we are were we are as a nation. ![]() |
. |
geeez: You must be very stup!d as your low IQ is always on display in your posts. I wonder how you can claim to be employed when you don't even demonstrate half the intelligence required to be a receptionist in a cheap brothelChoi ![]() |
Where is that man who claimed he is back, abi na job man him be? |
Hmmmn ,FG, Corruption is your first name, Deceit is your middle name and Incompetence is your last name. |
baqina: Sometimes ago, I proposed to a girl. The first thing she said wasShe wants to be sure you are still sitting on the bench, as a reserve that you are, and have not entered the dressing room |
The thing wey i talk now no make sense o |
I agree with ayox2003, it starts from the family, where most values are developed. In actual fact, most of the poverty issues we complain about will reduce drastically, if tackled at the family level. More often than not, there is almost a linear relationship between poverty and values Why would a low income earner have 7 children and raise them in a room apartment or ghetto? |
Hmmmmn , poor guy, he went with bullet proof then to vist bomb blast victims, but fate had something different for him four months after. I hope he recovers with his leg intact. The ADC standing behind him is possibly the one who died, he never knew he had less than 200 days to live. |
I will say it over and over again, this is absolute hog wash. I believe the grant to 1200 people is real. The cost-benefit analysis of the project is NEGATIVE. The Federal Govt. claims to be making or expanding businesses for 1,200 entrepreneurs in a country where there are over 50 million employed youths. They are drawing water from an ocean with a bucket with the aim of drying up the ocean, they are jokers. Average of 10 million * 1,200 = N12 billion , when you include training, logistics blal bla , it could go as high as 20-30 billion annually. The billions they will most likely waste on this project, should have been divested with greater sense. With the same 20billion Naira, Government should have instituted a Micro credit / finance facilities to commercially active poor of say N100k (N100,000 * 200,000 = N20biilion) repayable at little or no interest rate in a year, this will turn around the lives of 200,000 women spread across the 774 LG in the country. Another set of 200,000 women will benefit a year after, that way the project is sustainable, the impact is larger........ To reduce defaulters, who will not want to pay back, a group of even numbers say 4 people will be formed, two will be payed the money, the other two wont be pay until a year after, but will serve as a check that the others remit their dues monthly or as convenient.) |
Sincere 9gerian: Chie! Na here wey these HATERS, SEE-NO-GOOD and HEAR-NO-GOOD propagandists come hide? After chasing them away from the thread were people where commending the govt for improved power supply and the thread where shortlisted candidates of the YOUWIN second edition were sharing information, they have found SOLACE in the opinion of a disgruntled militant. You are doing all this Propaganda for GEJ, because you think he will build SECOND NIGER BRIDGE. You will be utterly shamed in 2013, in less than 365days from now, you will regret all the propaganda you have launched on NL for GEJ |
That was the lawyer who represented the displaced Makoko residents, when Fashola tried to clean up the water front, Fashola is seen as anti-people now. I feel the pain of Fashola. Unpopular policies are not necessarily bad, there are some visions a leader can not clearly reveal to the majority of its followers. One of the pitfalls of democracy. Great transformation in shortest of time are implemented by committed dictators.(Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, China e.t.c comes to mind) |
That guy is so impulsive, even some of his policies are impulsive. |
Sincere 9gerian: Who says the propagandist are not earning their pay. These days, because of the fierce online attacks by propagandists, those who commend the govt for one thing or the other have to start from a DEFENSIVE point by stating "I'm not a fan of GEJ but" or "I dont believe in this govt but" or I hate GEJ but".You !, a big time Propagandist calling people who are saying things as they are, propagandists. ![]() What is this world turning to ? Evidently the Abnormal is becoming normal. The normal becomes abnormal. Your head is screwed up. |
GARRI (x7): Ah!, 30 hours in a day ?? |
There should be a strict regime of maintenance for the buses and possibly pegged duration in years for the buses to declare them as scrap and taken off the road (5-10 years IMO). |
Billyonaire: He was asked, where is the money ? and he pleaded not to be killed. Meaning he duped someone....and the cost of the money is his phucking life.Your reasoning is so archaic.... chai |
jmaine: Guess it's the same DPR that levies huge monthly taxes on them . . .You must be very silly . . . .Ah , so you have moved from the wrong location of the gas station to "huge monthly taxes levied on them". You must be the accountant of the gas station.... to know the huge taxes levied on the station. ![]() It is not difficult to identify the silly one . ... check a mirror, you will see a very silly, dumb fellow. ![]() Yeye follow follow, wey no get mind of him own. Lost sheep following goats. |
jmaine: It will be hypocritical to place all the blames on the business owners without asking the govt officials why they chose to allow certain risky businesses to be cited where they aint supposed to be ( cos those people are obviously heavily taxed) . .When did Fashola become the director of DPR (Department of Petroleum Resources) ? DPR gives approval for fuel station. You had better keep quiet, if you have no good spin to make. |
Congratulations to the people of Enugu state, i hope he resumes as Governor fresher and stronger. |
Kai, The failed promises "continua" |
thelastPope: Does Uyo generate the IGR that Lagos generates? Some of you keep putting out this funny population argument. The population is as much an advantage as it could be a disadvantage. Fashola is using the advantage with fat IGR every month, so the excuse of population is not tenable! The average of 30 billion monthly IGR is enough to build a new city. That is over 2 trillion in 6 years! That is exclusive of FG allocation.Akwa Ibom collects at least 4 times what Lagos state earns in Federal allocation (oil revenue + VAT). A population of 4 million vs 18 million. The infrastructures are over stretched, Lagos state has the highest population density in Nigeria. With the longest network of city roads, Road degrades faster, thanks and no thanks to the volume of vehicles, especially heavy duty vehicles due to the commercial status of the state. That average 30 billion you claim Lagos generates as IGR takes ingenuity and hardwork to generate, whereas Akwa-ibom collects roughly that same amount with a "big bowl" monthly from FG with no work in the name of Fed. allocation being an oil producing state. Lagos State is 99% urban vs Akwa ibom that is 50% urban. An urban populace expectation from the government is way way higher, everybody wants high grade infrastructural quality and verrrrrrrry very difficult to impress. When people make comparism, make sure it is fair, so as not to sound stupppid |
talktimi: . Point taken but you seem not to understand where I'm coming from. I'm not comparing the state of roads btw the two states, I said Akpabio is also a performer compared with Victor Attah the former governor who performed miserably in Akwa Ibom. So Akpabio should be on the same par with Fashola if not higher because of the humongous task he met and the fact that he had to practically build the state capital for example from scratch but you've made your point. Thank youI don't think you understand the situation of Akwa-ibom during Obong attah's regime. Attah was earning roughly 25% of what Akpabio is earning now, Akwa ibom has won lots of oil fields which were hitherto classified as belonging to other states initially, including all of cross river, part of rivers, delta e.t.c. in the last 6 years , that translates to greater revenue. Attah did not have the kind of revenue Akpabio has now. You can do your research to find out. Akwa-ibom also have an annual budget 75%-80% of lagos state. |
how i for do? |
