rman: I don't know why people are critizing this.I also wonder at the level of criticism, although few expressed some valid fears based on their limited knowledge of the initiative. This is a mobile library that the student have access to 24 hours of the day ( 7 days in a week), including vacation periods. A conventional library in the school only give students access to library from say 8:00am - 2:00pm ( 6hours in the day) on Mondays-Fridays, excluding vacation periods. Like i said earlier, the best way to measure the influence or the effectiveness of the programme would be improvement in WAEC performance in the next 24 months. Other benefits : The students will also become invariably computer literate, stimulating their interest in IT fields. Positive peer pressure of learning or maximising the usage by the students. The two games installed on it(chess and scrabble) are also very educational, One is a game of strategy, that aids thinking, the other will help the vocabulary of students. The religious holy books are also there for them to read. It is light weight, unlike carrying textbooks, teachers can easily apportion assignments to students from it, the teachers will also be given the tablets. |
okpara ugo: When did scientific calculators become IpadThe SCIENTIFIC CALCULATORS . from rmanWill you like to have one scientific calculator ?, coz i suspect you are a secondary school student |
Ibidapson: A computer halls sud have bn built across dis schools and be equipped wt d so called OPON IMO. This gadget ll be misused as av already xperienced in Ekiti state where porn movies are found on itThe fact that porns were found on the laptops given out to some students, does not mean the laptop is not benefical to them academically, it is important we dont turn logic on its head. You cant force a camel to drink water, you can only take it to the stream. BTW, i am certain the Opon-Imo in Osun state is better conceptualized than the Minilaptop in Ekiti state. If you like build all the best of libraries in all schools, some students will never go in there to learn. Many students sit for WAEC and Jamb exams not having access to textbooks or past questions. |
Mobile textbooks ! for all subjects plus other features, surely the WAEC and jamb performance of students in Osun state public schools will improve drastically in less than 24 months. This is not a conventional library, it is a mobile library without borders , why will any sane person prefer a conventional library? If you are not myopic, you will visualise the results this will get, this is way different from the mini laptops given out by the Ekiti State, The Opon-Imo is well conceptualised. |
so much for top ten worst jobs |
azimibraun: I hv 7billion reasons not 2 vote for him in 2015 by God's grace, can a member of Team GEj gv me one reason to vote for him? because as it stands, a second term wll empower GEJ to fail the more, since he cn hv d balls to "do anyhw" with his first, his second wll b a sucker punch on naija folks. The boldened is my biggest fear !!!, If he can act with so much "i don't give a damn attitude" towards an issue like corruption in his first term, then his second term is better left to imagination. |
Billyonaire: Granting Alam State Pardon is for Glory of Nigeria and Nigerians, this may sound controversial but if you come from NDelta, you will know that Alam's boys control the creeks, if you hurt Alamco, the Oil companies will suffer and Nigeria as a country will lose money and not have cash to even execute budget, the economy will suffer and collapse. Granting Alams State Pardon means stability of the creeks, do not think that US can help calm the water ways, infact America will readily exchange oil at cheap for arms to the Boys. Do you really want to know where the arms in NDelta came from ? There are certain things that should be kept secret. Presidency is a tough call. Sometimes God uses the Devil to glory himself. What kind of nonsensical shiiiit is this? Can you please STFU? |
That state is the richest state in Nigeria, it is the least populated state in Nigeria, with only 8 lGA, with an annual budget 70% of that of Lagos State,It is unfortunate many PDP idiootts on this forum do not focus on that state, their focus is on ridiculing Performing ACN governors, some earning less than 1/3rd of Bayelsa's revenue. With a sensible government , Bayelsa state should be a paradise by now |
lakhadimar: IN OTHER WORDS GEJ IS ALSO SILLY FOR NORMINATING AN 80+ YEARS OLD MAN IN THE PERSON OF TONY ANENIH AS THE PDP CHAIRMAN BOARD OF TRUSTEESDon't mind that peasant that can't spell billionaire, Bamanga Tukur, his party's chairman is older than OBJ. Even the youth leader of PDP is roughly 10 years younger than OBJ. |
acidtalk: Thank you my brother. Thanks for the painstaking truth. |
e.dynasty:I've got no reason debating with a fo_ol |
rockcitie: Eiya d poor woman don hear am. Her fellow market women must have yabbed d living day light out of her. Oh! See wat pple are suffering just bcuz of ignorance. Moral of dis whole saga: ''Never go for an interview ill-prepared''. SIR cum a lot: gerald09: Ѿε̲̣̣̣̥ don't give a f*U*C*K! Imagine sending his wife to his fight his battle. He is d commandant of NSCDC he shuld learn how to be a good leader rather than be a p*u*s*s*y dat jt got f*u*c*ked. Criticism is part of his job description. So am suppose to stop because he is crying like a baby. F*u*c*king p*u*s*s*y! If is to collect moni for jobs he n his wife will have a huge smile on there s*tu*ip faces. You mean you all are gullible enough to believe the news ? |
An expose!!! Thanks for speaking out miss motunrayo adebola, i hope the stigmatisation trend can be curbed |
mutiply: its not possible to know all, sometimes the easy tins we claim we know can skip frm our mind in some certain situations,a friend of mine once asked me to spell the word "capital" in final exams, i did nt laugh at him cause i knw the tension that normally occurs within that period, am very sure that gej does not know all about niaja bt he the presido, your example is very wrong cause some men dont know the number of children they have, believe me it's always better to take the shame and learn from it.You are right about the boldened, i remember attending an interview in 2008, and was asked a dummy question, "tell me the name of the president of the country". i looked surprised and laughed, and simply said Umar Yaradua, the interviewer asked for the middle name, i started looking like a dummy. Not until i stepped out of the interview room that i remembered Ah Ah Umar MUSA Yaradua. |
next time, you take pictures with your 2.0 mega pixel camera phone, or dont you have one? BTW, where is insincere9geria ? he lives in that state. |
taharqa: Lagos state presently has sm of d worst primary health care system and hospital in d country, so anytin dat wud help to reduce d shame is welcomd whether its a colla bw d State Govt and Zenith Bank Or even d FG. Dis seem like a small contributn but it is in d right directn... LSG shld do smtin really fast about d state's primary health care in colla wit d LGAs and LGDAs(who like most of dier counterpacts across d country are SLEEPING, even though they are d actual 'owners' of Primary health)You people just say any nonsense that comes to your mind. Are you for real ? Lagos state presently has sm of d worst primary health care system and hospital in d countryWhich states did you compare it with? Collabo with Zenith bank ? if there was any collabo, it would be stated, a zenith bank official would be present, even the banner at the background / or the building should have a zenith bank tag. If a collabo was done, then it is good for the system. . We are talking about primary healthcare, a dunceee is showing pix of general hospitals & mother and child hospital. The only governor who i knew have done creditably well with primary health care is the Rivers state governor, not the Ondo state governor |
Afam4eva: A party that fails to plan has planned to fail - Afam 2013Which party has failed to plan ? PDP, ACN, CPC, ....? What is happening now is not lack of planning, the merger of big parties to form a single party is a very tedious , make or mar process that can not be compared with forming a new party from the scratch. Once the APC party is formed, the license of the three parties involved will be withdrawn by Inec. How will you feel if your girlfriend whom you intend marrying and have being introduced to your families is abducted by a married man ? Did you fail to plan? |
naptu2: It's about character. He should have just said that he doesn't know it. That would have been forgivable (although he should have expected that he would be asked that question due to the topic of that segment of the programme and he should have prepared adequately), but he chose to attempt to deceive.About character ? I think you are right. |
e.dynasty:For your mind now, you think you are making sense. Why is PDP laying foolish bo-oby trap, using hungry lawyers and some bunch of idiotas to form phoney "APC" parties.? PDP's primary responsiblity to Nigerians of delivering dividends of democracy is insignificant, but for them staying in power till eternity is their primary manifesto. Nigerians suffering from stockholm syndrome like you have sold your soul to these monkeys With actions like this, i tend to get more convinced that PDP is boko haram. It is the terrorism arm of PDP to perpetuate itself in power, whether it likes it or not, Power will change hands in 2015, or Nigeria will cease to exist |
SilvanusII: I would av been as lenient as U̶̲̥̅̊, but I av come 2 realise that the incompetent-leader-recycling tendency has marred more than made. You claim age blah-blah. Haven't U̶̲̥̅̊ seen older ppl act and speak better? It depends on how you define competence. i will not call him incompetent yet for that error. I did a psycho-analysis on him based on the clip, i observed that immediately he was asked for the web address, he lost his composure, he tried to evade it, but the journalists wont let him be, clearly he knew it was www.nscdc.____, but he wasn't sure of the domain name, whether .com , gov.ng , .net. in other not to give a wrong address, he came up with the silly oga at the top excuse, complicating the issue. i have heard of how a very intelligent fellow who had done very well with technical questions at an interview with GLO asked the last question what the acronym GSM stands for. He looked blank and couldnt answer it. Shit happens, calling him incompetent coz he couldnt give the right response to me is taking it too far. |
Na Laugh: People have seen the humor and are simply riding it out.You are missing the point ! I have not in any way endorse mediocrity, if you will be logical, a free flowing queens english speaking OGA might be a mediocre. That is the problem with people like, you get carried away easily with silly things like that. I accept he messed up, but i am lenient on him more because of his age status I put it to you that many youths in Nigerian university do not know their university website offhand. That to me is more grievous. It would be a fallacy of hasty generalisation calling the man incompetent because he couldnt give his organisation's website. N.B He actually might be incompetent. |
Okija_juju: Look, the issues isnt wether he knew his institutions website or not..i have not seen the entire interview, i must confess, i hope to see the full length interview, may be my assessment of him could change. It is hasty to judge the old man's competence with a less than 3 minutes clip exchange on his organisations website. Surely he goofed. |
I think the man's gaffe has been blown out of proportion. Surely he was not at the top of his game, his "Oga at the top" statement did not sound professional, he also crowned it with not having the correct website of his organisation, but i still opined that does not necessarily spells out his productivity. Many Old Academics in Nigerian universities can barely operate the computer, and do not know the website of their ivory tower. Ask many Nigerian university students their university website, they start rambling too. Ask Many Nigerian senators to sing the national anthem and pledge, they look blank. Was it not Nigeria, an ambassador was picked who did not know the capital of a state in Nigeria.? |
Yeye party that will not win a single councillorship position. The intention is clearly fraudulent, and the mischief is what some dolts here are happy about and calling intelligence. SMH. |
Billyonaire: You are as daft as your OGAs at the Top. Tell Tinubu and Buhari to kiss my a/s/s. We have given you guys an assignment. This is the first in the many steps of finally tutoring you unintelligent political teenagers. You can never smell Aso Rock till thy Kingdom comeUna don enter aso rock before? Mumu billionaire that can't spell his name. I can't help but laugh at this thing that calls himself "billyonaire". I learnt your OGA AT THE TOP has a dog called Billy. ![]() |
Celebration of mediocrity ! Many nigerians still have scales on their eyes, and do not realise how shortchanged they are. |
wesley80: Informative in several ways but I just keep wondering why it's YORUBA's that are bent on puncturing Sen Enang's claim! Have this guys ever heard the word SHUT UP before? Not even the "accused" Northerners are trying to with this much zeal, wetin sef? it's been one ediotically vapid piece to the other feigning deep knowledge but yet lacking the critical information on which to fault Sen Enang's claim: Who makes the real dough from the ND fields? You want the Yoruba's to SHUT UP, so that the falsehood been peddled can be enthrenched, and the polity can be heated up, creating unnecessary enemity between the north and the south, that you so much cherish |
Biafra rep: You are not sincere brother, you conveniently put it in a contest of nort-South divide, yet Nigeria stands on a tripod, while two legs of the tripod has ruled for many years between them, one was left out. Since independence in 1960(53 years), the Igbo has ruled for only 6 months! Is that not wickedness? If you are honest as you claim, then you will support Igbo presidency and not play to the gallery.I am so concerned about the quality of governance from whoever is on the presidential seat than to put premium on the region (s)he comes from. What tripod does nigeria stand on? When Nigeria was amalgamated, was it not Northern and Southern Nigeria in 1914? Wont the country be celebrating 100 years of it next year? If you are talking of Yoruba, Hausa-fulani , igbo, then you are so wrong to call it the tripod, they only make 62% of the total population. the other tribes making roughly 40% are they not Nigerians ?. I am a Yoruba Christian man, but will gladly vote a buddhist , igbo, hausa or whatever man who will deliver sustainable development to the country. I am pointing out the situation that by 2015, the south would have ruled for 14years out of the last 16 years, not because i really care about it, but because i am aware an average nigerian man like you (northerner / Southerner) painfully have sentimental attachments to things like that. |
thelastPope: This is one of the most idiotic post I have read on NL. You are soooooo dumb, you need help!Ahhhhhhhhh!, you are dealing with the wrong person, you are not fit to buckle my shoe. You !, a paid laptop dog need to check a mirror, pause and take a long hard look at the mirror, what do you see? the image of an i-d-i-o.t surely reflects. Woe betide u. Never in your miserable life quote my post. |
Mustay: Starting rhetorically, for you to have got to this stage, I believe you are now an adult - well that's why you're one; you're responsible for making decisions that affect you and your environs.I dont quite agree with the boldened part, i understand perfectly the Op's fear. He that is down need fear no fall( As a third class older, everyone sees you as olodo, and expect nothing from you, if you create something from your nothing, oh my my, you make the headlines.) As a first class holder, every body has high expectations from you, majority unrealistic. I will suggest you leave this country, and pursue a training in your passion, you will be exposed to the best of training, your plan B, which can go simultaneously is a related masters degree in your field, that gives you chance to buy time from those prying eyes who will perpetually ask, where is "sholay2011"? Is he now a millionaire? Is he working in shell or chevron ? .... There are scholarships for brainys like you, search them dilligently. |
TheBookWorm: Yes, I said merit. I know it is an illusive word in Nigeria, but it should be the chant. You feel it is better to pick him, because it satisfies your idiosyncrasies ? Stop burying your head in sand like an ostrich and face reality, If an opinion poll is properly conducted between Fashola and Buhari. Buhari will do better. Although we southerners can be more lousy on cyber space, and make the reality less evident. If people elect a man who is considered by some segments of the population as a bigot, then great, a supposed bigot would have been elected, so he can then prove if truly he is a bigot or not. |
TheBookWorm: What you just illustrated is not what democracy is all about.Did i hear you say merit ? Easier said than done, the structure of the country makes it difficult, the electorates also makes it more difficult, they will vote for a mediocre over a performer for flimsy reasons like religion, region, looks, name, beauty of his wife bla bla bla, I put it to you, that A buhari will garner more votes across Nigeria as a Pres, candidate.than a Fashola would. If APC appoints you as a political advisor, this is how you will be singing merit, and tell them to field a candidate who will flop. |
