Celebrities › Re: 'I Didn't Break Ini Edo's Marriage',yul Edochie Exclaimed. by Emmahunk(m): 2:16pm On Mar 27, 2015 |
famobaba: The youngest child of veteran actor Pete Edochie, Yul Edochie, has cleared the rumours making the rounds that he has a hand in the crash of Ini Edo’s six year old marriage.
Yul Edochie, denied the speculations in a recent interview with Entertainment Express.
According to the actor who just joined Mnet’s TV series, Tinsel, he is just a close friend and colleague to the said actress.
“Ini Edo is my very good colleague and close friend. We often meet at movie locations. And when she’s not shooting yet, we relax together inside my car. The gossip that we had ‘something’ started from the actors circle before it got to the ears of the media. Shortly after we became close, she got married to her ex-husband. Its a pity that her marriage crashed, but I’m still very married,” he said.
The 33-year old father of three who got married 11 years ago, also added that the bond he shared with Ini Edo became stronger when she told him that he (Yul) shares same birthday with her husband (now ex), Philips Ehiagwina.
“We actually became closer when Ini told me one day while we were on set that, that day was her husband’s birthday, co-incidentally, that was my birthday too.
So, she calls me on my birthdays to send her warm greetings. Please oh, I don’t have any hand in her marriage crash. She is just my friend and colleague”, he emphasised.
It would be recalled that in September, 2014, the shocking news of her marriage crash went viral and the actress cum producer confirmed it.
Ini Edo has since then moved on with her life and as well keeps dragging lots of controversies along with her.

Sooroptimist: Breaking news: EFCC freezes all Father Mbaka Accounts
By Ifeoma Ononye
Senior reporter, Lagos
The information reaching us from Enugu says Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) have frozen all accounts of well known Enugu based reverend father Ejike Mbaka.
According to our source who was present at Mbaka’s Wednesday adoration Mass for the sick and needy, the reverend while giving his sermon narrated to his congregation how he went to withdraw money to buy food items for the poor masses that moved down from north because of the election, but to his surprise his cheques were returned.
When he enquired why he could not make any withdrawals, he was told EFCC has directed his accounts to be frozen. He stated that the commission is also inviting him to EFCC office in Port Harcourt for questioning.
The Reverend guessed the order may have been from President Goodluck Jonathan to cripple his activities during the elections that is coming up this weekend.
He further stated that he is not scared but in order to be cautious and not fall victim of assassination, he will not honor the invitation from EFCC. “They have threatened to arrest me at the cathedraticum which will take place at holy ghost cathedral, Enugu.
I won’t fail to be there on Friday” he said
The source who gave his name as Benjamin disclosed that President Goodluck is lucky that it is just one day to the election before the EFCC issue with father Mbaka cropped up. “the situation Would have messed him up”
Another ardent follower of the popular Mbaka adoration confirmed the story. But we could not get the father to confirm the story himself.?
SOURCE: http://dailyindependentnig.com/2015/03/breaking-news-efcc-freezes-father-mbaka-accounts/ I choose not to believe this report because for a government that is proud of it's press freedom and freedom of speech policy, what would Mbaka’s offence be to warrant EFCC ordering the freezing of his accounts? Again, I thought that when Nigerians screamed at EFCC'S silence on some broad daylight robberies by some of our politicians, EFCC had always been quick to respond that they work based on petitions. Who petitioned father Mbaka? What is the charge? Let them get ready to freeze offerings and tithes. |

martyns303: You made great points, but to say the passport doesn't matter is not true. I school in the UK, we spend 6 months in the UK, then 6 months in the US, then come back to the UK. The school processes everything. However there are students from certain countries that always find it difficult acquiring their US visa. Mostly Iraqis, they have to fill out a security form and go through other process. While the British guys don't even break a sweat. You would think it would be easy considering the reputation of the school and having paid almost N60 million in school fees. Now imagine applying as an individual as a cittizen of those countries. Sure, that is talking about Nations. More the reason we keep saying that some people should stop giving our Country a bad name as it affects our acceptability by other Countries. I would have accepted a comment like 'when will Nigerians begin to be respected' rather than 'the green passport'. Please be a good ambassador and God bless |

May I authoritatively inform the writer of that piece that the Nigeria E passport is as date one of the most respected today in the world because of its high security features. It is in fact second to the United States passport in meeting ICAO standard. Granting or refusal of visa is based not on the Country’s passport but other issues some of which are as follows ; ●Confidence of the appplicant during interview ●Evidence of strong ties at home to prove that the applicant is not abandoning home ●Evidence of livelihood to prove that applicant will not be a public charge in host Country ●Previous travel history hence the question have you travelled before is more important than people think ●It's always a good proof of financial independence when you book a reservation and pay for at least a night rather than filling your relation's address as the place to stay in the States ●Age is also important. Do you look as old as you claim? ●Dress neatly and not to impress ●Never appear desperate, be relaxed. ●Never be in a hurry to produce any document except when it's requested for Good luck |
Politics › Re: Babangida Fumes At Anti-military Political Broadcast by Emmahunk(m): 9:42pm On Mar 25, 2015 |
kahal29: Former President Ibrahim Babangida has flayed what he Wednesday described as an attempt to ridicule the military institution and some of its sterling lights in the name of politics.
Taking note of a television documentary aired on Tuesday night on a private television network to project President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the presidential election, Babangida lamented that the president’s backers at the same time poured calumny on some of the country’s former military rulers.
Babangida took strong objections to what he said were the negative imputations put on the integrity and services to the nation by Generals Olusegun Obasanjo, Muhammadu Buhari, himself; Ibrahim Babangida, late Sani Abacha, Abdulsalami Abubakar, and T.Y Danjuma. Noting that the sponsors of the documentary which he described as a hate campaign were either intellectually delinquent or suffering from memory loss; or a combination of both, Babangida referred them to his leading role in the formation of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
He said: “For record purposes, and without sounding immodest, the idea of a PDP that has now become the “largest party in Africa” started in my home, here in Minna. With the support of my fellow colleagues, we prepared the way for this democratic process that has now led us to where we are presently. We built the democratic infrastructure and architecture. Those who are parading themselves as democrats today, all participated in military governments. As a deliberate principle of remaining unsung, or blowing my own trumpet, I have elected over the years to maintain dignified silence on so many issues concerning Nigeria while I cultivate my access to each sitting President to pass across my advice in whatever form.
“It is on record and this is incontrovertible that the government I ran paraded some of the best brains this country can be proud of. I still remain eternally grateful to those wonderful brains who participated in our government to fashion a new roadmap for re-engineering the country. Some of our policies have remained unsurpassed till date and most of what the country enjoys today was a creation of the Military. From primary healthcare to good roads, DFRRI, Better Life for Rural Women, housing, river basin authorities, MAMSER, new airports, agricultural development and other economic infrastructure, to mention but a few, were platforms where our interventions were felt. We achieved that much with very slim resources. If we had the several billions of dollars that are flying around today, we would have turned Nigeria to the Dubai of Africa.
“The military is an institution that is so dear to my heart. It is an institution that nurtured my growing up and my achievements in life. I am not only sold to the military institution and by extension the Nigerian state, I am betrothed to it. As a profession, retirees are bound to participate in politics and democracy as an all-inclusive process, same way that Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Nurses, and Civil Servants get involved in it. It is the reason why I ventured into politics in 2003 before I quit in 2010. It is the same reason why General Obasanjo participated and got elected; and now General Buhari. It is therefore very curious that promoters of President Goodluck Jonathan’s aspiration would attempt to demonize and stigmatize former military leaders and cast aspersions on them in order to malign their reputation. This is very unfair.
“Fact is; the military fought a civil war to keep this country together. What I suffer today is a consequence of the injuries I sustained during the Nigeria Civil War. I am not sure there is any patriotism that is more than that. Some of us were prepared to die for the country. The military is presently combating the dreaded Boko Haram sect to restore Nigeria’s territorial integrity. What law under a democracy forbids retired military personnel from participating in politics and presenting themselves for election? Over 90 percent of American Presidents have military background.
Leadership training is better grounded in the military than any other profession. And the military parades some of the best brains in any country, including Nigeria. In fact, some of my military students that I tutored have Doctorate Degrees. It is therefore callous, wicked, out-of-sync, cynical and a show of crass ignorance for anyone to undermine the military institution by embarking on mudslinging campaigns against former presidents and leaders of military background.
“While those campaigners are pointing their accusing fingers at us, they forget to recall that the present Director-General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization is actually a retired Military Officer. It is this form of demonization and stigmatization that often compels us to exhibit espirit de corps amongst ourselves in support of our military institution and colleagues when the stakes are high. As disciplined military officers, we are patriotic Nigerians and must be treated with utmost respect and decorum.
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/babangida-fumes-at-anti-military-political-broadcast/ All correct Sir. Well said my general, whatever anyone might think of you notwithstanding, you just made valid points. My great grief is that the likes of FFK, Fayose and their likes have in their bid to justify their pay packets gone extra length to ridicule almost every single person that had at one time or the other been a source of pride to this Nation. It's indeed unfortunate |

Romance › Re: 7 Reasons You Should Date A Lawyer by Emmahunk(m): 3:31pm On Mar 24, 2015 |
emusmith: If you have never given a thought about dating a lawyer, this post is going to come as a reminder that you might be missing out on something wonderful. Yes I know there are a whole lot of misconceptions about lawyers, but hey, you might want to check out these reasons why you might at least give a thought about dating a lawyer. So here we go:
1) You will be proud to introduce them as lawyers to your friends and family
Who wouldn't want to associate with the prestige and respect the legal profession commands? You wouldn't have to wait to be asked what he or she does; you will just have it rolling out of your mouth, though that’s not a guarantee of money rolling from them to your pocket. You will be proud to have a “learned” person as a date, and your family and friends will be so proud of you.
2) Dating a lawyer means you wouldn't have to pay for legal services
Now you've got all your legal issues addressed for free. You don’t have to pay any consultation fee of any sort. You will have free legal services all to yourself. Now that is something to think about, because legal services these days are not that affordable as it used to be.
3) Lawyers are known to be good dressers
I know you wouldn't want to date folks who are horrible with their dressing. If that’s the case, then your chances of avoiding that could be reduced if you date a lawyer. Lawyers are generally known to be good dressers, probably because of the nature of the profession; where they are trained on how to dress.
4) Lawyers are known to be smart and intelligent
Wouldn't you want a partner you can make a good and intelligent conversation with? I bet you wouldn't want to be hanging around a mate who doesn't know the things happening around in their environment and can’t make intelligent conversation. Lawyers are known to have a wide source of knowledge of things happening around them in the society. Lawyers are also known to be avid readers, which exposes them to a lot of information. All these exposures, tend to make them more smart and intelligent than their mates.
5) Lawyers are good story tellers
We all long to hear good stories every once in a while. Lawyers by the nature of their training know how to tell stories. Also, the nature of their work also makes it easy for them to come up with stories to tell. I mean, they are always in the center of human interaction and conflict resolution, and so they get to know and see stuff. Wouldn't you want some good stories every now and then?
6) Lawyers are good talkers
Sometimes it can be sexy to be a good talker. You know you want to hang around people that you will be proud of when they open their mouth to talk. Lawyers are known to be good talkers, eloquent, and come off as intelligent when they talk. In fact, the greatest orators are known to be lawyers. So if you want to have such folks as a date, you better check out lawyers.
7) Lawyers will stand for you even if you are wrong
Wouldn't you want somebody who will stick out for you even if you are wrong? If that’s what you are looking for, then look no further, because you will find that in lawyers. Lawyers by their training don’t just give in to stuffs without putting up some fight. So, if you have a lawyer as a date, you are sure of having someone who will stand by you whether you are wrong or right. Now tell me if you wouldn't want that?
Assuming you have never given a thought about dating a lawyer, now is the time to do that.
I dedicate this thread all my learned colleagues in NL: Females and Males- in no particular order 8. They have a smart way of begging for dates |

Crime › Re: I Was Offered N30,000 To Convey A Kidnapped Woman Into The Bush (photo} by Emmahunk(m): 3:51pm On Mar 21, 2015 |
Obascoetubi: A 24-year-old commercial motorcyclist who confessed to being a member of a kidnap syndicate that specialised in abducting their victims from Ogun and Lagos states, has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Special Anti Robbery Squad. The suspect, Taiwo Akilo, was arrested at the weekend while on the verge of taking the syndicate’s female victim to their hide out inside a bush around Imodi- Ijasi, along Ijebu-ode/Ikorodu road. The captive, one Mrs Abosede Adenuga, was reportedly abducted at about 10.50pm, around Ikorodu area of Lagos, last Sunday.
POLICE BOSS SPEAKS
Explaining how the suspect met his Waterloo, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Val Ntomchukwu, said: “The Ogun State Police Command has intensified efforts to tackle challenges of kidnapping in the State, particularly, in Ijebu axis as the Special Anti Robbery Squad of the command ambushed and arrested a member of a kidnap gang that abducted one Mrs Abosede Adenuga, from Lagos State on 16th March 2015 at 1050pm.
‘’The SARS operatives of the command deployed to police the Ibefun/Ikorodu road where some suspected kidnappers operate and hide their captors, were informed of the kidnap case by some informants. They said the gang was heading to Ijebu axis to hide their captor. The kidnappers met their Waterloo when they were ambushed by the police at Imodi -Ijasi along Ijebu Ode/Ikorodu road
‘’On noticing the presence of policemen, the kidnappers jumped on a motorcycle to escape. They were given a hot chase by the operatives who used another motorcycle to pursue them. During the process, one of them, Tunde Akilo, was arrested while the woman was rescued. The following items were recovered from the gang: one locally- made, cut-to-size double barrell gun loaded with one live cartridge, four live cartridges, a Volkswagen car with Reg No MUS 471 AU used by the kidnappers and assorted charms.”
I WAS OFFERED N30,000
Speaking with Crime Guard, the suspect disclosed that he was offered N30,000 for the botched kidnap by one Ahmed whom he said was the leader of the gang. The father of two who blamed his indulgence on poverty, stated that he was into aluminium business before he diversified to commercial motorcycle (okada) in order to eke out a living.
HOW WE CARRIED OUT THE OPERATION
According to Akilo who had a scorpion tattoo on his left arm: “ Yes, I was arrested by the police inside the bush. I was hired by Ahmed who is the head of the gang. He called me on Sunday around 9.30pm, to convey a woman to the bush. On reaching the meeting point , I met four other persons.
While they went to kidnap the woman around Ikorodu, I was asked to watch out for any intruder. After they succeeded in kidnapping her, we drove to Imodi- Ijasi . On the way, Ahmed stopped the car and shot at the tyre. He instructed me to drive the woman on the motorbike to a designated point inside the bush. We blindfolded our victim and ordered her to mount the bike. I drove the motorbike while the woman sat between me and another member of the gang.
END OF THE ROAD
As I was about leaving, Ahmed sighted a motorcyclist coming. He hijacked the motorcycle and also drove inside the bush. But all of a sudden, we sighted some policemen who ordered us to stop but we did not. In the process of trying to run away from the policemen, I missed my way inside the bush. Unfortunately, I was arrested while others who were conversant with the terrain escaped, leaving me at the mercy of the policemen.
“This is my first time of joining them. I was tempted by the payment of N30,000. Ahmed owns the motorbike. All I was instructed to do was to drive the woman inside the bush . He said he would pay me after ransom was paid by the woman’s family.”
CP COMMENDS MEMB ERS OF THE PUBLIC
The command boss stated that efforts were still on to apprehend other fleeing members, even as he commended members of the public for availing the command with information. He reiterated the command’s commitment to always provide adequate security for lives and property of people in the State.

Why is the case of divorce and separation so high these days. And if it is not divorce or separation, you read on Nairaland every day how one wife burnt the husband or cut off his manhood, or how a husband beat his wife to death.
Why is this so rampant these days? Simple. Because women no longer call their husbands ' my lord' neither do they see them as such anymore. Contrary to how it was some light years away. Civilisation, women lib, career, education etc all stem from this simple reason. |

Politics › Re: ”APC To Release Scandalous Documentary Against President Jonathan" FFK by Emmahunk(m): 11:35am On Mar 20, 2015 |
corneli83: Femi Fani Kayode, in a new statement released today, has cried out that the APC has hired 3 well known international spin doctors from two western countries and budgeted $2million to produce a blockbuster documentary that slanders President Jonathan and his government. And that they are planning to release the documentary 3 days to the elections.
Read his press release below:
There are three issues that we wish to bring to the attention of the Nigerian Public today, all reflecting the sheer desperation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to get power.
• One:
It has been brought to our attention by members of the covert and special operations unit of this Directorate that certain unpatriotic steps are being taken by the opposition in an attempt to discredit not just the President, but also his government and indeed our entire country. As we are addressing you, a scurrilous and utterly baseless documentary and video has been commissioned and compiled by them. It is titled ‘’Nigerians…What Is Going On’’. In the documentary the opposition has listed some areas which they claim reflect the corrupt nature of the Nigerian people, the nature of the President and the nature of the government that he is heading.
All manner of lies, deceit, fabrication, slander, falsehood and misrepresentation of the basic facts are in thedocumentary. The whole thing is simply an attempt to denigrate the Nigerian people and bring is into disrepute and opprobrium before the International community.
Two million dollars was budgeted for this irresponsible and shameful project and the services of no less than three specialists and well known international spin doctors from two western countries were procured.
These specialists are now in Nigeria to put finishing touches to their project. The whole idea is to perfect the work and then release it to the international television networks and the Nigerian public three days before the elections. I will not go into detail about the contents now but some of the subheadings are as follows:
*$15 million US Private Jet Arms Scandal *N5 trillion stolen under Jonathan *N21 billion Pension funds embezzled *N10 billion private jet scandal. *N1.6 trillion oil subsidy scandal, and much more.
These are the obvious ones we can talk about here. They have targeted the oil and gas sector in a particularly brutal and shameless manner and they seek to tarnish the name and image of Mr. President and those that run that sector with sleaze, dirty lies, disinformation and unsubstantiated allegations.
Every single heading that we have just listed, plus all the others that we have refused to list here, are not backed up with anything tangible and are devoid of truth and substance. Their foundation are nothing but lies, deceit, falsehood and malevolence and the whole enterprise was put together simply to demonise the individuals concerned, to demonisethe government, to demonise Nigeria and to make the Nigerian people look like a nation of hardened criminals.
The objective of the planned documentary is to incite the people, to destabilise the country and to bring the President into utter disrepute. In order to achieve, these effectively consistent personal attacks will be launched on key government officials.
This documentary, which we consider to be very dangerous, is full of false and irresponsible postulations about what is going on in this country and if it is released in its present form it is capable of setting Nigeria on fire.
We are letting the Nigerian people know about this in good time in order to pre-empt it and we want the opposition to be fully aware of the fact that we know what they are doing, what they are planning, when they were planning it and who is involved. We also know the amount budgeted for this project, who is disbursing the money and what their real intentions are.
We also want them to be fully aware of the fact that even if General Muhammadu Buhari, Bola Tinubu, Rotimi Amaechi or any of them are in their toilets, in their bedrooms, in their covens or anywhere else they may choose to hide and hold their secret meetings, we know what they are doing.
This document was passed on to us by a loyal and patriotic Nigerian who is working with them and who is a key officer in one of their most sensitive and secret cells and covert intelligence units.
This individual was so disgusted at the level of fabrication and propaganda that they were indulging in that he felt that it was important to share the information with us. We commend the courage and patriotism of this person and we assure him of his safety. He made this vital information available to us and we commend him greatly for it.
Finally we want to say that such an irresponsible course will not achieve the objective for which it was set. This government, this country and our dear President will not be destabilised and distracted and Nigeria will not be set on fire.
•TWO:
Again, gentlemen of the media, our attention had been drawn to the existence of an illegal Radio station called ‘’APC RADIO’’ or ‘’RADIO CHANJI’’. This radio station has been broadcasting falsehood, propaganda and inciting comments periodically over the last few days and since inception.
We seize this opportunity to call on the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) to set its house in order while ensuring that its rules are followed. We call on them to use all means available to stop this illegal radio station from operating and if necessary to block its illegal transmissions.
The person that is heading this operation is Ambassador Yusuf Mamman, an APC leader and stalwart who has much experience in the world of special ops and disinformation and who has been given millions of dollars to start this illegal radio station.
The objective of the radio station is to serve as a propaganda tool to fight the government after they lose the elections on March 28th. The brain behind the operation is the former governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi who equally founded Radio Kudirat during the days of NADECO when the government of General Sani Abacha was being fought by a number of people in Nigeria.
The opposition know that they would lose the election and after this happens it is their intention to begin to use this illegal Radio Station to incite Nigerians against the government. They seek to create mayhem and cause panic and create a toxic and bellicose atmosphere in which their supporters will be encouraged to slaughter and kill innocent Nigerians whilstthe country burns.
They also intend to use the radio station to incite the armed forces to mutiny. They intend to create a major division and utter chaos within the Nigerian state, using religion and ethnicity, and they will take that opportunity to either call for full blown military intervention or the establishment of an Interim National Government.
It is through the auspices of this illegal Radio Station that they intend to announce members of their planned shadow and parallel government, to nominate their ministers and to then create major crisis in our country.
The truth of the matter is that this will not work. However it is important for the security agencies to arrest Yusuf Mamman and question Kayode Fayemi, Bola Tinubu, Rotimi Amaechi and the APC Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari himself on the operation and illicit and dangerous agenda of this illegal Radio Station.
We will not sit back and watch them achieve their objectives. We will not allow them to destabilise Nigeria and we will not allow them to create a parallel government after they lose the elections.
•THREE:
Our sources within the Buhari and APC camp have also revealed to us that Gen Muhammadu Buhari is in a quandary about what to do about the very serious allegations that have been made against Bola Tinubu when it comes to his tenure as Governor of Lagos state and thereafter.
Buhari is said to be overwhelmed by the staggering allegations and compelling evidence that have been documented and exposed in the last few weeks about Tinubu and his closest associates.
Our sources have revealed that Gen. Buhari has resolved that in the event of his winning the Presidential election, he will issue an ultimatum to Bola Tinubu.
The ultimatum will be that either Tinubu would forfeit and give up 50 per cent of the money, property and the illicit gains that he has fleeced and garnered from Lagos state over the last 16 years or he would face the full wrath of the law and be prosecuted for corruption.
It is clear from this that all is not well in the APC’s camp and that their de facto leader, Bola Tinubu and their presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, are on a collision course. These two people and their party simply cannot be trusted with the future of Nigeria.
http://naijaparrot.com/apc-to-release-scandalous-documentary-against-president-jonathan-3-days-to-election-fani-kayode/ Please forgive my ignorance but I thought there is this saying that "clear conscience fears no accusation"? Why the noise over a yet to be released documentary if the contents are all false? |
Crime › Re: Abia Government Sacks ASOPADEC Director Over Rape Case by Emmahunk(m): 9:26pm On Mar 19, 2015 |
lalasticlala: The Abia State Government has sacked a Director in Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commissions (ASOPADEC) over an alleged rape case.
The Director Christian Onuoha was alleged to have forcefully raped his housemaid (Anurika) from Owo-Ahia Afor in Obingwa Local Government Area leading to the death of minor after bleeding profusely.
Briefing newsmen at the Government House, Umuahia, The Nation gathered that the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dr. ACB Agbazuere said that given the heinous nature of the crime which is rape of a minor and murder, Mr. Onuoha has also been placed on interdiction pending the determination of his case by the police and the court.
According to the Commissioner, the state Civil Service Commission has also been directed to take necessary action as the case moves on. He made it clear that the said Onuoha is only a civil servant representing the Ministry of Petroleum in the board of ASOPADEC and not a commissioner in the state government as is alleged in some quarters.
The Information boss who stated that Section 358 of the Criminal Code of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is explicit on the issue of rape also revealed that the punishment for rape is life imprisonment, adding that since the victim is dead, the issue of murder comes in and the penalty for such offence is death by hanging.
http://thenationonlineng.net/new/asopadec-director-sacked-over-rape-case/ May the soul of the little girl rest in peace. I however, smell a rat given the way the Commissioner for information has prosecuted the case and delivered judgment all in one . For those who know Abia Government House, let's hope this is not orchestrated by detractors and hung on the man's neck for disagreeing with a political ideology with the powers that bein the State . |
Romance › Re: Haitian Beauty Meeting Nigerian Family by Emmahunk(m): 4:35pm On Mar 19, 2015 |
HaitianQueen: Hello so I need some tips from my Nigerian brothers and sisters. My boyfriend who is Nigerian (father from Igbo & mother from Yoruba) would like for me to meet his parents and family.
By nature I am a very kind, sweet and respectful Haitian woman. We have very similar morals and principals (which is why we get along so well).
Anyways! Lol, I would like to know... Is it consider a nice gesture to get his mother and sister a nice gift to show my appreciation towards them? What are some other gestures that I can show them to acknowledge them? Naturally there is nothing wrong in getting presents for your future parents in law. However, be sure that your visit is for real and your boyfriend real. We are tired of people giving our lovely Nation bad name throughssome of these so called visits |

Politics › Re: PDP Coordinators Beat Up Zonal Secretary (Photo) by Emmahunk(m): 3:10pm On Mar 19, 2015 |
PassingShot: Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, campaign co-ordinators drawn from the 236 wards across Ogun State, western Nigeria, on Wednesday beat up the South West Zonal Secretary of the party, Chief Pegba Otemolu, for refusing to share the money allegedly given to them by President Goodluck Jonathan.
Some of the state campaign coordinators went berserk following the failure of Alhaji Fatai Adeyanju, the National Auditor of the party and Chief Pegba Otemolu to release the fund allegedly meant for the state co-ordinators engaged for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election.
Our correspondent gathered that a 5-hour meeting held at a hotel on Quarry Road in Abeokuta, the state capital, to sensitise all the 708 Co-ordinators drawn from the 236 wards across the state, ended in a shouting match which resulted in the attack on the national officers of the party.
Sources at the meeting told P.M.NEWS that trouble started when the National Auditor of the party, during the course of the meeting, told the coordinators that the fund meant for them was not available at the meeting.
One of the co-ordinators, who pleaded anonymity, told our correspondent that Adeyanju informed them that the money had not been deposited in the designated account, when they knew he was lying.
The co-ordinators consequently held the two party leaders hostage and insisted that they would not allow them to go until they release the fund meant for them.
The two party leaders were held hostage for hours after which some political thugs escorted Otemolu out of the hall and he quickly entered his waiting Honda Pilot SUV.
But an attempt by the driver to whisk away his boss resulted in an accident which left one of the co-ordinators from Sagamu seriously injured.
The injured man is currently being treated in an undisclosed hospital in Abeokuta.
The incident sparked off anger as the other aggrieved co-ordinators pounced on Otemolu and bundled him out of his car which had hit the median and hit another parked car on the other side of the road.
Adeyanju took to his heels when he saw Otemolu being roughened up along with other leaders by the aggrieved co-ordinators and other party members.
When our correspondent contacted the State Secretary of the party, Chief Semiu Sodipo, he declared that nothing like that happened, but declined to speak further.
http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/03/19/pdp-coordinators-beat-up-zonal-secretary/ Show of shame. At times, I wonder what these ones will be telling their children in the form of cultivating right morals |
