Boss Ibime, you have good knowledge of economics. What is your take on removal of fuel subsidy? I read somewhere that unsubsidized fuel is somewhere around $5 per gallon.
Watch this video around 5:20 Good thing these are not reported speeches
What I don't understand is why What does having one wristwatch have to add to your personality as a candidate Obi should be advised to leave out unnecessary details. I get that he has to do a lot of interviews to sell his candidacy but he has to be smart about what he says during the interview.
izzou: I am not even an Obi fan sef. I dey even drag am.
I have listened to him without emotions, and most times, he spends more time repeating the problems and backing it with figures. I don't see much solutions in his Pep talk
The reason I am voting him is because Apc needs to be punished for failures. We shouldn't be rewarding failures.
As for Atiku, his desperation is becoming suspicious
We are too alike, I have dragged Obi severally especially amongst my more diehard PO friends, so much that they doubt I will vote for him He deflects too much, telling stories for just emotional weight, like his arise interview yesterday, the story of the guy with Nigerian mother he met at the airport, the one of his son beign independent, the one of him going to meet obj to change commissioner were all unnecessary. I see through Obi but what are the options?
You brought a video of people outside of Nigeria doing parody votes, frying pan to fire It seems you are ignorant of Nigeria voter demography. Anyways, my goal is to cast my one vote in the real election and bounce.
onyemaair: Update of the poll. 70,000 people have voted and Peter Obi maintains a total dominance. Of course I know people would say online is not offline but there is something to note here.
It is Nigerians who are participating in these polls, not robots. Every single Peter Obi supporter is highly energized to not only get their PVC but let others do too and lastly, in previous online polls like these, the margins were never this pronounced. While yes an eventual loser might have been winning online polls, the other contestants usually got a healthy margin of votes in those online polls, now that story has changed. The other competitors can barely get anything from these wide sample of voters. That is telling a story of its own. The 2 major parties have fielded deeply unlikeable candidates incapable of inspiring ginger in their supporters. Hmmm let's keep watching.
Any time you give updates on this poll, I just laugh.
I hope you all watched PO's interview on Arise TV this morning. When someone who is competent speaks, you just know. He also spoke about mistrust of government, which leads to people disagreeing with government policies, I think he can breach that mistrust, I am sure if our past leaders have coming out to speak with the mass like Obi has been doing, our trust for the government would have been higher.
Skimpledawg: Larride, i just heard PO extensively talking about the State police as a way to restructure security and hold state Governors responsible for security in their state.
What do you think man?
I watched the arise news interview too, how will someone decide not to vote PO?
raumdeuter: Everyone's oratory prowess will reduce with sickness or with age.
His logic was in addressing insecurity we are underpoliced, we need more people in the military, Many youths are willing to join the military but to be succesful in joining has been made similar to making paradise
Hire more willing youths in the military, 1, you reduce the amount of unemployed youths on the streets 2, you have increased capacity to secure the country
And what these new 50K military guys will eat? Thats minor and he proceeded to mention the 2 food items most common all over the country that can grow in almost any conditions cassava and corn
Anyone serious about insecurity will see how it ties to unemployment and how you can solve both at once
It is an entirely different video I am talking of. He was talking of farmers in the one I am talking of.
raumdeuter: I have listened and he is no less coherent than Joe Biden the president of the greatest country in the world. If ruling was about oratory prowess Chris Oyakhilome and Okotie will be alternating presidency between them
The logic of the argument Tinubu is making is top notch
I didn't get his point and logic, although I admit it was a 30 secs video. Tinubu used to speak well when he was younger, so I think old age takes the blame for his decline in oratory prowess.
BlueRayDick: Na why Wike dey vex for PDP for allowing Atiku by the ticket. He has won the ticket and has gone back to his Base In Dubai while other aspirants are on ground setting things up little by little. That Atiku ehn, he just doesn't give a 4ck
LOL, Wike didn't even get compensated with VP. I doubt Atiku will even concern himself with Governorship elections. Maybe Atiku is getting conformable with losing elections, his efforts are not showing this time around, maybe it is too early Sha.
raumdeuter: After 3 days hiatus I am back with a bang
I will be on my own, people will attack me yet I will follow suffer the consequence
Its time we start looking for moderators on this streets with guns
Have you listened to Tinubu speaking recently? Since I listened to his lecture speaking of agbado, Cassava and ewa, the incoherency of his speech is concerning.
By the way, it is radio silence from Atiku and his team. Looks like they are comfortable being out of the ring, Twitter is saturated with Obi vs Tinubu battles.
When I mentioned development, I meant economic development, I am not twisting anything, either way, do you believe Infrastructure does not drive economy?
Oasis007: He's a brilliant Technocrat, and seems so determined to transform the State. Guess what? Anambrans prefer Obiano type of Leaders or a PO type that would rather save instead of spending on infrastructural developments.
I was shocked that Peter Obi said Infrastructure doesn't drive development, honestly.
Why is Tinubu lying that his certificates were stolen by unknown folks? I believe he's lying because there's no way he could've become a governor without certificates. Na weytin obj for take fvck am sef if na true.
Maybe he doesn't want people to know where he studied so they won't know his real age?
Do you believe that he is doing it to hide his real name like is being speculated in the media?
raumdeuter: Today there is a news on homepage where Obi is denying that he never made the claim that investment in Breweries is 100M and blamed youths for it
I think there is a mix up somewhere, Obi never denied making the statement, he only said the attributing of the statement to Soludo was false. You can read the letter sent to Soludo to confirm what I am saying.
Bomboiy: First of all if you want to pick a candidate do a little research on your own, most people will only say things that will favour their candidate.
That being said, there is no good thing about Tinubu's style of government; "Chop make I Chop" A system that empowers criminals and agberos, there's a reason why corrupt politicians are loyal to him,you think the likes of Amosun,Fayemi, Akpabio that stepped down for him during the primaries did it for nothing? They are hoping he will win so that the corrupt practices will continue.
Recently there have been allegations of how commercial drivers in Lagos State are forced to pay as much as 20k for Tinubu campaign sticker, while Tinubu might not be aware of it, that is a testament of the system he created. A system where anybody can just embezzle public funds without any atom of difficulty. Lagos State generate as much 120b from commercial drivers Yearly, how much dey reach Sanwolu hand? People like MC Oluomo and Koko Samba are living large, sleeping with Lagos based actress, and training their children abroad while the poor drivers pay through the teeth.
You leaning towards Obi is the best decision you can make regarding next year's election,I am not saying that obi is the best candidate to rule Nigeria but among the front-runners Peter Obi is your best bet. He is the only one that can rule a country with a debt of more than 30 trillion. He is the least corrupt one, that is why most politicians hate him, even if PDP primaries was zoned to Anambra state Obi might lose because he will never succumb to dashing dollars to delegates for votes.
Peter Obi believes in production for consumption,he didn't borrow one naira as governor of Anambra state,go and verify. Peter Obi believes in building the country,he never traveled abroad for medical reasons when he was the governor of Anambra,he was using waterside hospital onitsha which he developed to be one of the best hospitals in the southeast at that time.
The only reason you should vote Tinubu or Atiku is if you are a politician that stands to gain from their government or if you are a delegate that collected their dollars. But if you are a concerned Nigerian that has never benefitted from corruption then you should go for Obi.
Lastly,I think you should read the article on Bloomberg concerning Tinubu and Atiku corruption cases. You definitely don't want that kind of president after eight years of Buhari.
raumdeuter: 1. Tinubu has never had any issues with his health beyond the surgery he has on his knees recently. His activity in recent times has actually shown he is quite healthy and strong, The rigors of campaigning and meeting, plus the delegate and primaries yet he is travelling everywhere till date while many of the younger men are sitting in one corner waiting for Buhari to anoint them
2. You have just admitted that all 3 are corrupt to varying degree. Nothing has shown that Obi is better than Tinubu in terms of corruption. All 3 top aspirants have had corruption allegations on them none of them was convicted. All we can do is speculate and insinuate
3. While Lagos had some advantage, I believe many states too had their own advantages which was squandered. For example We have many coastal state which have a coastline and are oil rich, all of them get significant money from the 13% derivation fund which is higher than what Lagos gets in allocation. What have they all made their state into? Nothing. The mega city Lagos is was some peoples idea and was carefully nurtured to what we have today. Without a plan we wont have a Lagos we see today. Anambra for example has one of the biggest markets in West Africa, Akwa Ibom has oil, What happened to the Tinapa billion dollar project that Donald Duke spent a lot on? The only thing shown is that there is no amount of goodwill that cannot be wasted. What exactly is this Obis economic prowess?, Its not like he is a renowned economist like Pat Utomi. Actually Tinubu is a trained accountant and worked with world class organizations. Where did Obi work and dealt with modern economic models? You also don't need to be an economist to assemble a team, Nigeria experienced a slightly good economic growth under OBJ a military man, who delegated to his vice Atiku a custom man. None of these had formal trainings in Economy but they were able to assemble brilliant minds
4. Recruiting 50K youths into the military is a brilliant idea for a country dealing with insecurity and have an army of unemployed youths. There are many youths willing to join the military but the bottlenecks to join are enormous. We have a security problem. No one will solve it for us, Only Nigerians can solve Nigerias problem
Obi has never shown the type of administrative abilities that Atiku and Tinubu showed at their former posts as VP and Lagos governor. Anambra was his platform to show what he can do. Tinubus legacies are there in Lagos till date. It has made Lagos our favourite place to go to for all youths seeking a better life. Anambra after Obi has become a work free Monday state
1. Personally I think Tinubu's appearance sends a lot of warning signals. 2. If we were to go the "never being convicted" route, a lot of people will be saints, so yes, speculation is the next best tool, and it says Peter is less corrupt, I think honestly, Tinubu is convicted of corruption by court of public opinions and it is effective when it comes to choice of candidate in election. 3. Hmmmm, credit to Tinubu, I wouldn't want to dismiss his works in Lagos. I think Obi's major achievement is his work in Anambra, he did well on the economic front. I agree with your last point, I always believe, stopping brain drain and giving room for brilliant minds to flourish is one of the major thing that can be done to change our fortune, unfortunately, there is no way to tell in advance who would be most proficient in this. 4. We could still have the issue of recruiting not based on merit but "connection". To whom much is given, much is expected. Anambra was Peter's platform and he did well. Work free Monday is not in anyway directly linked to Obi.
donjazet: When these particular people abroad tell you plainly, NIGERIA WILL NEVER WORK! That, in and of itself is an indictment of their mentality.
Listen bro, when both of us discuss or argue politics, it's very different from us arguing football because we recognize we are talking about issues that affect our lives directly. We are arguing who is the best leader to position that would enact favorable economic policies, policies that would assuage the effects of inflation, policies that would enable the revival of industries that would create better employment opportunities. Policies that would enable increasing our power supply. All of us desperately want to start having steady power supply, just like South Africa, Egypt, Ghana etc. When we argue politics, we are talking about our very own lives. It's definitely a different feel for those who are far detached from this reality and these people who look down terribly on those still in their motherland.
But furthermore let us look at the history of this individual so that you can judge for yourself if this person is in the right frame of mind to make a balanced and unbiased view of this situation and most importantly, where his opinions stem from.
Day1. This person makes a mockery of us and laughs us in the face as to how our leaders are wasting our money and how we are powerless and hopeless to do anything about it. Day2: this person starts shouting japa! immediately after a horrific national tragedy, telling us that all hope is lost for our country! He actively denigrates those who wish to stay back and fight for their future here.
Day3: This person advocates for a clearly corrupt, frail and incapable aspirant to rule a nation of 200 million. Note, this is the same candidate with which he brazenly mocked us with. This is the same candidate which he acknowledges is brazenly corrupt.
And the last non-shocker, this is a person with a renowned hate towards an entire tribe. See below a post made as far back as 2016. See where he insults the whole Igbo tribe and specifically mentions peter obi. So you can see that the hatred for this candidate and his tribe is not today. This person can never be objective. He's not qualified to discuss issues of our lives right after spewing these things.
Thank you for clarifying that your statement was referring to a single person and not Nigerians in diaspora on a general note Still I am not concerned about his intentions, how do I know it? Can I tell yours? Residents of Nigeria are supporting different candidates, many would call those not supporting their candidate an enemy of Nigeria, accuse them of being bought or tribal, but personally I hate such kind of postulation. Anyways, Thanks. there is still a lot of time to make a choice of candidate, I could even decide on the election days. Activism isn't for everyone and I don't trust any politician enough to stress myself to campaign for them.
donjazet: He's the wrongest person to ask this question. I implore you to leave these people abroad to their devices. Both of us are here in Nigeria and care very much about our country and the future of our country and our children unborn.
Those abroad have clearly told us that nothing will ever work. That we should stop hoping on Nigeria.
To them we are just numbers on a board. Political numbers for addition and subtraction just for their viewing pleasure and attention. They don't care about us here so just leave them out of it.
Whatever opinion they have doesn't come from a place of care, concern or apprehension but from selfish indulgences and viewing pleasure. It's all a game for them. Pay no heed to them.
Calm down, he offered to answer questions on Tinubu's presidency, and I took him up on his offer, I couldn't care less where he is based, as long as he is a Nigerian, I wouldn't want to go into forecasting people's motive for supporting who they support, I would only listen to the arguments they make. If he was in support of your candidate, would you still hold the same opinion? Or you believe Nigerians in diaspora in general are not valid people to have Nigerian discussions with irrespective of their choice of candidates?
raumdeuter: 1. Tinubu health challenge, what we know is that he went for a knee surgery recently but given his activity and movement in the last 2-3 months meeting delegates, campaigning and travelling, does that seem like a man who has a bigger health challenge than the other candidates? His age has nothing to do with governance, Most of the top countries in the world have presidents who re around 70yrs old. Presidency tests your administration ability which is where Tinubu has excelled as an administrator. He was able to gather the best brains to deliver in Lagos
2. Tinubus corruption allegation. In politics no one is sparkling clean and that includes Tinubu, There is no politician that if we shine enough light on him we wont find where he did some shady things while in govt to benefit or circumvent the law. If Tinubu's corruption claims are so egregious, he has been Nigerias main opposition for several years and no one could pin anything to him. His house is a Mecca where all the foreign ambassadors visit to pay homage. What exactly has he stolen that can be proven and taken to court to prosecute him. Let me know
3. I think Tinubu will handle the economy better than anyone. The only person who can rival Tinubu on economy is Atiku Abubakar. Handling the the economy and even leadership is about delegating the right people into position. A president does not need to be a Nobel prize winner in Economics to fix the economy, its simply appointing right people in the position. This is where Tinubu and Atiku have excelled in the past. Tinubus economic template for Lagos has seen the state become a destination of choice for many Nigerians and non Nigerians
4. The main problem of Nigeria is an ailing economy that does not provide enough employment opportunity which is why youths from every state flood to Lagos to get a means of livelihood, others resort to crime. One example, We have a problem of insecurity which has made over half of the country unlivable there are youths seeking forms to join the military but bottlenecks in admission is frustrating many of them. The process to either join NDA, Police Force or even Short service is as tough as getting a visa. The country is definitely under policed, If govt remove the bottle neck in hiring security personnel. that will on ne hand provide jobs and on the other hand improve security by getting unemployed youths off the street then engaging them in productive nation building ventures
I dont think Obi is the most qualified, Of the 3. I think Tinubu is the most qualified followed by Atiku then Obi
1. You are right about age having nothing to do with governance, but I think health concerns are valid, as Buhari spent a lot of time out on medical trips, which may have affected his government negatively. On this, maybe we would have to wait till medical reports of the candidates are out (if at all it will be released). 2. A lot of politicians haven't been prosecuted yet and it is true that politicians often have skeletons in their closet, even Peter Obi has a 250M scandal, I wouldn't want to go in talks of big evil and small evil, but I believe Peter Obi is better than Tinubu and Atiku in terms of corruption. 3. I think Tinubu's Lagos state performance is skewed in his favor because Lagos is a mega city. You are dismissing Obi's economic prowess, Obi was special adviser to GEJ on finance (if I am not mistaken), while you are right about delegating, it will serve better if the leader has affinity for that area. 4. You must have seen the video of Tinubu talking about recruiting 50m youths into the army and feeding them with corn I can't respond much on these points, since they are not official campaigns manifestos or ideas coming from Tinubu himself.
Obi is younger, has good track records with Anambra state, has less corruption stains, and is very relatable, yet he ranks third on your list, I am curious to know what your criteria are.
raumdeuter: If you have any question or query against Tinubus candidature and can avoid insults or personal attacks bring it forward and I will address it
Good evening boss, I am currently neutral and I am yet to pick a candidate, but I am currently leaning towards Obi. My questions. 1. How do you respond to questions of Tinubu's health challenge? 2. How do you respond to questions of Tinubu's corruption? Do you give a know "thief" a bigger platform to steal? 3. Do you think Tinubu will handle our economy better than Obi (it seems this is Obi's strongest point)? 4. What reforms is Tinubu poise to make that will better the country?
Aside the question of if Obi "will" win or not, do you think Obi is the most qualified of the three candidates?
Havertz10: I criticized the formation when people here were proposing it
Lukaku is not a god that is above dragging, I will even drag havertz self if he doesn't score at least 20 goals this season.
Mr. Rational, here is your target. Come last day of the season, will you do the dragging? I expect you to give donstan18 some pointers to drag Havertz with, since you know him in and out.
Havertz10: I can’t recall, you are good at digging, find it
But all in all, I will accept whatever he produces this season over Norwich man that only performs against bottom of the table teams, did I say perform, manages to assist or score I meant
Kai Havertz EPL Liverpool - 1 Burnley - 3 Norwich - 1 goal 1 assist Newcastle - 1 goal 1 assist. Southampton - 1 goal. Watford - 1 assist Man united - 1 assist. UCL Malmo - 1 goal Lille - 1 goal Real Madrid - 1 goal EFL CUP Southampton - 1 goal Spurs - 1 goal FA CUP Plymouth - 1 assist. CWC Palmieras - 1 goal.
He is a really a big game player, He performs against both small and big teams alike but cannot manage to score or assist that's why he is 10 g+a behind Norwich Man.
