PoliticsRe: 'My Power Project Story' By Olusegun Obasanjo by Epiphany(m): 12:23pm On May 12, 2008
I would like to say that i have not read anything above before putting in my own contribution.

All i want to say is that OBJ and his cronies are crooks. There is nothing anyone wants to tell me that will make be think otherwise. After 8 years in power, there is NOTHING to show for it. What other gaddem explanation does the old baba want to give to us? Nigerians are not fools o, well, there are a lot sha, but majority of us are not fools o, we know what is going on. Dividing and sharing the booty of the country. That is the long and short of it.
PoliticsRe: Al-Qaeda Plans To Bomb Nigeria? by Epiphany(m): 12:09pm On May 12, 2008
Hahahahahahaahahahah, this is a very amusing thread. Ige, Funso Williams and others were killed YEARS ago and their killers have not been brought to book yet. An ordinary aeroplane 'dissapeared' a few months ago and it took the authorities ages to realize where it had gone.
Is it Al-Q, which even the western world finds it hard to track that the Nigerian Police wants to trace and track? IDIOTS, when they cant even find cars that have been stolen. Fools!

warrahell kind of comparison is this? How can you be comparing these two, just like comparing George Clooney to RMD. Where on earth do you want to begin?
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Is Bad - Nigeria Is Bad - What Is Bad About Nigeria Than Other Countries by Epiphany(m): 2:50pm On Apr 15, 2008
Man, with all the comments i have read thus far, IF I SAY I AM ASHAMED TO BE A NIGERIAN, WILL I BE JUSTIFIED?

I was at the international airport in Singapore the other day and when the immigration people were obviously delaying one 'rough' looking passenger, he started screaming at them, "gaddemit, you cant do this to me, I AM AN AMERICAN CITIZEN". Needless to say, the officers quietly stamped his passport and allowed him into their country.

We, as Nigerians do not have that luxury of shouting down immigration officers anywhere (sadly, even in our own country).

I make bold to say that at least Half of our population, if given the chance, will denounce our nigerian citizenship and accept others. I stand corrected, will anyone challenge me?

@ abbeyart.

You be correct man jare, took the words right out of my mouth.

NIGERIANS ARE EVEN RUNNING INTO GHANA NOW, HOW MANY GHANAIANS ARE RUNNING INTO NIGERIA?
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Is Bad - Nigeria Is Bad - What Is Bad About Nigeria Than Other Countries by Epiphany(m): 2:49pm On Apr 14, 2008
Questions: Why do most of our leaders send their children to schools outside the country? Why do they go for periodic medical check ups out of the country? Why do foreign companies prefer to employ people who have foreign degrees over the local ones? Why do we have the incidence of 'Brain- Drain' within the country (afterall, these are the learned people who should contribute the most to the development of the country)? Why do most of the leaders open foreign accounts, after making so much out of corrupt deals etc?

Look lets face facts, things are not alright with the country and the people within. Countries we were at par with in the 60's have left us far, very far behind. I worked for a multinational that banned its staff (both local and foreign) from flying our local airlines (except Aero Contractors). The company refused to allow its expats visit certain parts of the country, etc etc.

People are suffering man! OF COURSE NIGERIA IS BAD - Much worse than many other countries (except such as Zimbabwe and other war torn zones)

Things can change, but i doubt it will be soon. It is much easier to tear down than to build up. It took so many years to tear us down and it will take much longer to pick us back up. Changing the psyche of the average citizen is not going to be easy and that is where the problems will continue to come from.

We should start now, anyway,
PoliticsRe: Nigerians To Pay More For Electricity by Epiphany(m): 5:05pm On Feb 15, 2008
bawomolo:
Isn't it about time our 'Moses' arises and leads us out of this yeye 'Egypt'?

this is stupid thinking, why not do for yourself rather than wait for a messiah. do u think malaysians, kuwaitis, japanese, chinese people were waiting for a moses?? botswana's economy is rapidly improving and no moses has come to save botswana yet. get on your feet and stop waiting for government or politicians to save u.
By 'Moses', i mean a good leader who will lead us out of this quagmire we find ourselves in. All those countries you mentioned had good leaders to lead them from where they were before to where they are now.

I doubt if the average man on the street will know how to generate electricity for himself.

EVERYTHING COMES DOWN TO THE QUALITY OF LEADERSHIP WE HAVE, WHICH IS WHAT A 'MOSES' REPRESENTS
PoliticsRe: Nigerians To Pay More For Electricity by Epiphany(m): 11:20am On Feb 15, 2008
Why is it that things happen this way in Naija?
Pay more for which electricity? Its the same way that the price of fuel is always increased, when there is no constant supply of the stuff. The price of food always goes up, while the quantity and quality is reduced.
Isn't it about time our 'Moses' arises and leads us out of this yeye 'Egypt'?

SportsRe: Berti Vogts Must Go by Epiphany(m): 2:35pm On Feb 06, 2008
My people, if we are all singing the tune that Berty must go, let us also include, Yar'Adua, Some ministers and governors.

It is a waste of time trying to sanitize the Football (sports) sector, while other aspects of the economy are still in shambles. Our soccer can NEVER progress if the people running our affairs are not forward looking people.

Personally, i think countries that perform well are a product of a healthy economy!

you talked about a case for more private univers,, have we ever considered our low class

teeming population, how many of our people can afford the fee all these private schl

operators are stand to get from one student? l think we're at a stage all these our

so called leaders should ponder to their way of selfishness and one-man-eat-all problems.

haven't they seen enough? everyday, these people travel everywhere, they see the way

schools, students, the techers are cared for, yet, we're stagnant; waiting for who to fix it ?

real sad for treating to our generation this way! is it because they have all

their own children here in the western world? with this shameful act, they think the're right,

forgeting that nobody judges himself right, but God, who's ready to reward accordingly.

Correct man! Na im me sef dey think. Private schools ARE NOT THE ANSWER AT ALL!
FamilyRe: How Necessary Is Marriage? by Epiphany(m): 2:24pm On Jan 17, 2008
To be honest, marriage is not necessary.

Many of us are hitting this concept from the Christian perspective. For those who are not christians, mainly in the 1st or developed world, marriage is not on the top of their list for happiness. They can have all the things that married people have without feeling guilty - sex, children, companionship etc - and when they are fed up with a particular person, they move on.

Even the bible that many of us are quoting, says something about staying single - i am not sure where, but i think the Apostle Paul mentioned it, can someone tell me where that is, please?
CultureRe: My Wife-To-Be Is An "Osu" by Epiphany(m): 2:26pm On Jan 16, 2008
HHHmmmm, anyone that wants to marry an 'OSU' should be very strong minded. Even though i am not for that nonsense, it is something that is cultural and cannot be pushed aside just by ignoring it.
I am from a very educated family and before i got married, i received a shocking revelation. My very educated parents (Professors) told me that they were going to check if my wife to be was an 'OSU'.
All that said, i was ready to ignore whatever the outcome was and go ahead with the marriage. Luckily, she was not one of them.
What i am trying to say in essence is that i WAS READY TO GO AGAINST THEM.
Whoever is marrying one of them must be ready to be an outcast, along with his wife, children, children's children etc. He should be ready to receive all kinds of insult, not only from his immediate family, but friends of his family, relatives etc.
It is not an easy thing to do as even the 'OSU' girl he wants to marry should think about what her future husband is going to go through because of her.
, BUT WHAT THE HELL, IF I WAS READY TO DO ALL THAT FOR THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, HE SHOULD DO THE SAME TOO,

CareerRe: MBA Salaries In Nigeria? by Epiphany(m): 5:09pm On Jul 14, 2007
what on earth is that, 1.2M PER ANNUM, or is that supposed to be per month. How can companies be paying 1.2 per annum, that is really really small.

In previous posts, i thot there were people that said that a fresh graduate earns 1.69M in Zenith etc etc?
FamilyRe: A Birth Story - Experiences Of A First Time Mother by Epiphany(m): 6:35pm On Mar 31, 2007
Hey Consultant,

That was a lovely story, which i think my wife has to read. She is dead scared of the pain and often jokes about having a C-section. We've been married about 2 years now but still have not gotten down to having the baby yet. Needless to say, my parents are miffed, but thats their business.

Whichever way, i have told her that i will be there with her when she is having the baby. I must get her to read your story.

Hope your little girl is a bundle of joy. I want a girl too and have already given her a name.
FamilyRe: Balancing Your Job And Your Home (Wives) by Epiphany(m): 5:48pm On Mar 31, 2007
Nice one, fromuk. marry a teacher grin

Honestly, used to think like that too. will definately not want to marry a banker or a management consultant, who has to work excruciating hours.

Doctors, civil servants, lecturers, teachers, researchers, are the best people to marry. tongue
PoliticsRe: New Nigeria Police Force Uniforms by Epiphany(m): 5:23pm On Mar 31, 2007
ok, so they have changed their uniform. does that mean their behaviour will change.

The police force is the most hopeless naija institution. They should have used that money to train and equip the police force first of all instead of changing the uniforms.

Abeg, wait first, WHO GOT THE CONTRACT TO DO THAT? maybe we should be asking that instead and thinking that probably, the govt wants to enrich someone.
CelebritiesRe: Most Popular Nigerians In The World (dead Or Alive) by Epiphany(m): 5:15pm On Mar 31, 2007
Please, stop mentioning Lemar, Sade, Seal etc. THEY ARE NOT NIGERIANS, their parents are nigerians. They could care less what Nigerians feel, think and do. They do not suffer from the pain and shame that we do also.

People only like to feel that they are nigerians.

Okocha and Kanu are Nigerians and are the most famous Nigerians I should say. Every where i go in the world, when i tell people that i am a Nigerian, the next statement is, 'oh, is that the same place Kanu and Okocha are from?' Even those who dont watch football know who these guys are cos of the endoursements, adverts, Billboards, etc

Nobel prize or not, people dont remember know who Soyinka is, Or who Philip Emeagwali is, or Chinua Achebe or Fela or Femi. For God's sake, no one even knows any Nollywood actor/actress exists
RomanceRe: My Fiancee Is Too Attractive For Comfort by Epiphany(m): 4:54pm On Mar 31, 2007
yeah, she will not go with another man, but you have to wake up to the fact that she cannot wait for you forever.
i mean, what do you think, that she will marry you after 'years' of engagement even if you dont have any money? Think of her age and yours. if age is on your side, you can struggle a bit more to make that money.

If not, let the babe go and marry someone else if she cant wait for you

Look my friend, I WONT MARRY MYSELF IF I DONT HAVE MONEY, so i will not expect anyone to marry me if i dont have money.

TravelRe: Which Country Is Known For Pretty Ladies? by Epiphany(m): 11:47am On Mar 28, 2007
ok, yeah. have seen all everyone has written. Swedish, Brazillian, Latino etc. I have not seen where a pretty woman (facially) ends up being really pretty when she has a rotten heart or mind.

But not wanting to burst the bubble, there are pretty women everywhere in the world, but those latino women kiss
PoliticsRe: Yar'Adua Flown Abroad After Going Into Coma? by Epiphany(m): 3:24pm On Mar 11, 2007
Thanks dj4wealth, i completely agree with you. in times like these, we need someone with some aura and charisma, who knows how to get things done, even if he cant do them himself.

Good leaders encircle themselves with people who know how to get things done like OBJ did in his last term with pple like Soludo, Iweala and that small devil, EL-Rufai.

Most Nigerian leaders have been wash outs, in terms of charisma and speech.

Yar'adua cannot rule naija o! He will die in that position and maybe Jonathan will be our President.

God Save us!
