Slawormir:Haven't they done that already? |
Tomiwa69:There's nothing wrong with being against the government provided it does not take away your senses and make fo start thinking like a kid. You're not even concerned about the possible looting that could take place. Your own concern is that the figure mentioned is not as big as what SA allocates to investments. You realise this this not a financial investment for Nigeria but an outright cost? So if the financial analysts evaluated the required services and decided $18M is what's needed, the government should say "no, we want to spend $500M cause South Africa spent that figure on something recently"? If the government had spent that amount now, you'll still be here to call them out for senseless spending. Nawa o. |
He quarantined himself nah |
DboyizGood:Welcome bro. The runny nose thing can be so embarrassing. Lol. The cold has also reduced to a great extent now. Where is your temporary stay located? |
Perfecttouchade:Yeah, really risky. I wish him well too. |
Perfecttouchade:He's doing his job. He can't be in his bedroom and learn all he needs to know about the virus. Other countries send delegates too. If he doesn't go, you guys will still be here to call him names for it. Besides, he is not sick. The quarantine is only a precautionary measure. |
Gnaeusmagnus:Thank you for this. Some have already turned it into an avenue to praise men and bash women as usual. |
donbachi:She's friends with Bob. She never claimed to be in love with her. Her post is not against gay people but against those who lure women into marriage despite their sexual orientation. Knowing you're not straight and still getting married to a lady is not fair to the lady. If you're bi, let your woman know so she'd decide for herself if she wants to proceed. Any marriage built on lies is bound to fail. |
IsaacRocks:This one be praising microscopes. ![]() |
ajasbaba:Blame the OP for that ignorant and dumb headline. According to the writeup, she said he's bisexual. You too read nah. |
@barbieSAN What I described is neither TEF nor TCF. It's YMCA's language assessment for landed immigrants. |
Vinchance:Both correct. Echefubero m ya is 'Olumba' Echefubeghi m ya is 'Igbo nzugbe' |
rottencorpse:Lol... I believe a lot of people do. These songs you mentioned along with Earth song, They Don't Really Care About Us, Beat It, etc.. are worth listening to over and over again. I sometimes feel we (I and MJ) think alike. Lmao. And yes, I listen to his songs (including the very old classics) almost every other day. |
Going by my observations at Murtala Muhammed Interactional Airport (Nigeria), Cairo International Airport (Egypt) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (Canada), I think Egypt has the best precautionary measures. I'd excuse Nigeria cause I was exiting the country but I expected more from Canada. We will defeat this beast! |
Religious people would want us to thank god if/when a cure is found but not to blame him for the invasion. How objective! |
DeeCan:Congratulations once again. Make sure you land in Toronto. Don't let any Calgarian tell you otherwise. |
sunshineV:Lol... so you'll be in your house and see them fasting and praying ? So prayers made by pastors and imams are worth thanking God for? I don't mean to sound religious but your statement embarrasses atheism. |
DeeCan:Lol... congratulations on your PPR. We'll start a movement #BringBackOurPPRstory |
DeeCan:Lol.... I like the last line: The stories have disappeared but I'm still here. You must be looking at yourself now wondering if you're actually here or hallucinating. ![]() |
bekayy:Lol... thanks! |
captainhoo:Yeah but a much more diluted version. You call, book an appointment and go whenever you get a slot. The person assigned to you will just introduce himself or herself, explain the process and give you either the writing or the reading part to start with (it's your choice) and you'd move to the other once you're done. The reading/writing is usually done in a small hall where you'd see others doing thier own English or French tasks. After this, you'd return to the officer's office where they'd just start a nice conversation with you in French and before you know it, the speaking part is over. Then you'd listen to some audio clip on the officer's PC and answer questions based on the clip's content. That's it. He or she will give you your scores right there and you both will discuss the nearest training centre that has classes for your level. There are online classes too. It's free, pretty straightforward and easy. There's no pressure too cause the actual aim is to know from where to start teaching you. |
Enculer2:It's much better now. I've got a better kit too. I came it when it -18°C. I almost ran back to the airport building Yet everyone is saying it's been a mild winter this season. What what a harsh one would be like ![]() |
NubianQueen87:Nope. They transloaded the luggage. |
Enculer2:Thanks! I'm settling in one step at a time! |
damzy88:Thanks Damzy! Glad your bag was eventually returned! |
Hi everyone! Glad to see the positive spirit here. I just want to encourage everyone to hang in there regardless of how tough it seems to be. Studying French has multiple advantages asides the immediate obvious one of increasing your CRS. Take this from someone who's been keenly following the Canadian labour market trends. As a software developer, I realised there are many people with my skill set here; multilingualism instantly became my selling point. To better appreciate my point, take your time to review most of the job boards in Canada. You'll see that roles that require multilingualism pay up to 20% more than their monolingual counterparts. Most of these roles are in Quebec though but that shouldn't be a problem if you take steps to manage the expectations of the prospective employers. How do you manage their expectations? Do your French language evaluation with YMCA on arrival. It's just like any other French exam evaluating your strength in the four areas of language studies and it's free. Each area is graded on a scale of 1 to 8. With this result, you'd be referred to government sponsored institutions where you could continue your classes for free. But asides this, you should always mention this result to a prospective employer when interviewing for bilingual roles. This helps them place your level accordingly without over expecting thus reducing the pressure on you. Regardless of the province you choose to land in, do not close your eyes to these bilingual jobs. If you could move from Africa to North America, you can always move from Ontario/Alberta to Quebec. Wish you all the very best! |
Enculer2:Merci beaucoup, grand frère ! |
ednut1:Thanks Mr. ednut1! |
majamisile:Thank you so much!!! |
NubianQueen87:Thanks! You are right. I was just too new and maybe too excited to be thinking of entitlement then. Lol |
