I do not know his intentions but is it really racist to call it Chinese virus? I mean, viruses are sometimes named after where they were first noticed. Covid-19 is not the first corona virus; we have SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) and MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome). The later was obviously named after its region of origin. Asides these, we have the Spanish Flu and a couple of other viruses named in this fashion. If the terms MERS and Spanish flu were not considered racist, why is Chinese virus such a big deal? For some reasons, we mostly call Covid-19 the generic name "corona" but there's still need for a more specific name. The code name Covid-19 has been adopted but mostly used in the written form. Trump is openly opting for an alternative name. Maybe if we had termed it Chinese virus from day one, that Chinese diplomat wouldn't have found the guts to suggest the virus originated from the US. Things need to be spelt out more clearly now.

There are thousands of others around the world who also have it but they are not on social media broadcasting it; being a celebrity doesn't make the person in question any different from these other people. Announcing it online is a choice and if the celebrity doesn't feel like it, fine.

What you've failed to realise is that the person is already going through a lot of emotional turmoil at this point and it's up to him or her to figure how best to stay sane. If avoiding the public eye does it for him/her, I see no reason to bash him/her.

Please, it's his or her Corona, not yours. The person decides whether to share or not. So let him or her handle it the best way they can. This is not the time to bash people left and right or do unnecessary comparisons.

I joined NL about 10 years ago. I had a clique too. We were very popular (back then, you know you've made it when Seun follows you). I later became friends with some of them in person and today, they all claim that they've moved pass NL but I know a good deal of them are hiding here observing the newer generation.

Whether you pay for the hosting or not depends on the contractual agreement you have with the developer. It's it's not carved on stone. If you know how to effectively manage your C Panel or IIS, you can get and manage the hosting yourself. Some providers give free domain names when you purchase from them. I never use a reseller.

Do you realize that the entire test process is not free? Of what use will it be to test him now and it appears negative only to become positive in a week time? The best thing is to self isolate for 14 days, if he doesn't show symptoms after then, he can do a confirmatory test to be sure.
His wife showed symptoms and that is why she was tested. If we start testing everyone without symptoms or testing too early, we will waste resources and will get a lot of false negatives which is even more deadly cos the person will start sharing the virus without knowing.

I don't think it's about the money though. Free or not free doesn't apply here. I actually thought, as the PM, he would have been tested even before the isolation just for the sake of precautions. Another test could be done after a few weeks. Now he is in self isolation with a wife who is positive. I don't know how that works.
