A woman called a radio station to make a confession about how she handled her husband's infidelity. The woman, from Nnewi, Anambra state, said she married when she was really young to a Yoruba man and their union is now blessed with two sons who are in a university in Canada. She explained that her husband has always been good to her and she lacks nothing but the only issue was that her husband was promiscuous. She explained that she had warned him about it multiple times, yet, he won't listen. Instead, he became more careful and started communicating with the women via email since it'll be harder for his wife to check his mail. The woman, who is in her 30s, said her husband, in his 40s, has been living with high blood pressure and later came down with a stroke. While he was in the hospital, she had access to his phone and saw all his emails to the 4 sidechics he was keeping. She said that her husband was also really generous to the women and she found receipts showing all he had given them. She said some of the women had sent him messages, asking why they haven't heard from him. The wife said she responded as her husband, telling the women that he's out of the country, and the women sent him things they wanted him to buy for them. When the man recovered enough to go home, the woman said she waited for a month to pass while her husband settled back into their home. Then, a month later, she said she brought out all the evidence she had gathered, and her husband, who was confined to a wheelchair and wearing adult diapers, broke down in tears. However, she told him it wasn't the time for tears. She said she then sent all their domestic staff on a break for a while then sent a message to one of her husband's side chic, telling her that he's back to the country. Pretending to be her husband, she told the sidechic to come visiting that the wife had gone to Canada to visit their kids in school. The sidechic arrived, carrying a bag she packed for the whole week. The woman said that once the side chic entered their home, she used the central lock to secure the house and she had the remote so that the sidechic couldn't leave the house. The wife said the side chic had no way out and then she made the woman cook and clean up after the man for the entire day. She added that at some point, when the sidechic was changing the husband's soiled diapers, she was turning up her nose because of the smell. The wife said she finally let her out of the house after she had worked for the whole day. Over the next two weeks, she invited the other sidechics, one after the other, and treated them the same way. She said one of the women threatened to scream but she asked the woman what she will tell people she came to do in the house when her scream attracts them. She added that she told the sidechics that since they enjoyed the man with her when the going was good, they have to suffer with her now that the man needs all-round care. She explained that after the two weeks, all the women blocked her husband by themselves. She said she then played for her husband the CCTV footage of the women turning up their nose and showing disgust while cleaning him up. She explained that her husband, who is now better and has regained the use of his hands and legs, has become a changed man since then. Listen to her story in the video below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1gpGbVA6r4 |

A Nigerian medical doctor is of the opinion that businessman, Obi Cubana, received over 200 cows for his mum's funeral from his friends because he is rich and not because he is a good man. The medical personnel with the handle @drpenking who shared this thought via his Twitter handle, opined that people give gifts to rich people so as to be in their good books and not because of the good they have done to them. The Minister of Justice and Solicitor-General of the Government of Alberta, Canada, Kelechi Madu, has slammed the Nigerian Minister of Justice and Attorney- General, Abubakar Malami, over the re-arrest of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. https://alexis.lindaikejisblog.com/photos/shares/60e42a0b0f6e0.png In a post on his LinkedIn page, Madu said if reports that Kanu was abducted from Kenya were true, Malami was not only a ''disgrace to the rule of law but also not worthy to be a public officer.'' The Canadian official, who is also the Deputy Government House Leader, said Nigeria and Kenya violated international law in the manner Kanu was extradited and called on world leaders to apply appropriate sanctions. Madu demanded the release of Kanu. He also urged the Nigerian government to ensure his safety. Madu wrote: "The Attorney-General of Nigeria, Abubakar Malami, is a disgrace to the rule of law and not worthy to be an officer of the court. "He has shown himself to be a bigot who does not understand what it means to live in a pluralistic society governed by the dictates of the rule of law." Madu added: "Nigeria is burning, and the people of Nigeria, except those who are holding the country down, want out. "You cannot destroy the hope and aspirations of a people destined for greatness and expect them to bow down in servitude. "You cannot destroy a generation of people and expect them not to fight for their freedom. The power of guns, state-sponsored terrorism will not achieve peace or the preservation of Nigeria. "The Igbo and other ethnic groups in Nigeria who are calling for Nigeria to be renegotiated do not seek violence or war. They seek peace. They seek progress and the advancement of their people. They seek fairness, safety, equity, and justice for their people. "They seek the opportunity for their children to grow up and achieve their God-given abundant potential. "They seek the rise of a people with the work ethic, intellect and capacity to be a truly global super power on the continent of Africa. They seek dignity over inhumane treatment. They seek life over death. "Friends of the black world must unite and liberate the people of Nigeria from this bondage and from the claws of corrupt and inept politicians who have no business being near the corridor of Nigeria’s political power." https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2021/7/canadian-justice-minister-calls-nigerias-justice-minister-malami-a-disgrace-over-arrest-of-nnamdi-kanu.html |
https://www.tori.ng/userfiles/image/2021/jul/02/nwa1.JPG A Nigerian national, Paschal Nwaenyi has been arrested with 7,000 ecstasy pills in Bang Khun Khunthian district of Bangkok, Thailand. The 38-year-old was arrested in front of a building at the Eua-arthon 2 housing estate in the Tha Kham area of Bang Khunthian on Thursday night, July 1, said Pol Col Piyarat Suparat, chief of the Patrol and Special Operations Division, also known as the 191 Police. Seized from the suspect were 7,140 ecstasy pills, two mobile phones and a Totoya Altis car. He allegedly sold the drugs in nightclubs. The arrest was made after police received information that members of a major foreign drug gang in Bang Khunthian had rented a house in Tha Kham to store illicit drugs to be sold to patrons of nightspots on Rama II Road, said Pol Col Piyarat. Officers who searched the man’s room on the second floor of a building at the housing estate found the drugs in plastic bags stuffed into camera boxes. The suspect denied any involvement in the drug trade. But a police investigation found that the gang had bought drugs from a trafficker and sold them to visitors at nightspots in the surrounding area. Mr Nwaenyi was handed over to narcotics suppression police for legal action. [b]Sunday Adeyemo, a youth leader better known as Sunday Igboho, has tackled the federal government over the raid on his residence by the Department of State Services (DSS). [/ The DSS had raided Igboho’s home in Oyo state in the early hours of Thursday, and at a media briefing later that day, the security agency presented arms, ammunition and charms alleged to have been recovered from the youth leader’s residence. However, speaking in a statement issued on Friday by Olayomi Koiki, his media aide, Igboho denied ownership of the items said to have been recovered by the DSS . Igboho also said he hasn’t committed any crime, adding that his focus has been on ensuring peace in the south-west region by kicking against “criminal herders”. “The invasion was done without a search warrant. I was not invited for questioning/investigation at any government facility before the invasion,” he said. “Nigerians and the world at large are aware of my resistance to the incessant killings, raping and kidnapping of my people in Southwest Nigeria by armed Fulani herdsmen. “The failure of President Muhammadu Buhari and his government to curb the criminal activities of the murderous herdsmen necessitated my intervention. I ordinarily would not have intervened if government had lived up to its responsibility of securing the Southwest and Nigeria at large from the criminal activities of the President’s ethnic men. “Of public knowledge, my intervention has not led to any loss of life or bloodshed. My means of curbing criminality is to the chase the criminal Fulani herdsmen out of their hideouts in company of the people of the affected communities. “It is because of the foreseen government persecution that videos of such interventions were transmitted live on social media. Nigerians, the security operatives, and the presidency are aware that I have never moved against the peaceful Fulanis and other tribes living peacefully in the Southwest. My unjust persecution — for defending my people and community — is therefore surprising and unwarranted. “Nigerians and the international community should please be aware that the security operatives that invaded my home either planted the ammunitions being paraded in the media in my home or harvest them from their armoury to frame me. The arms paraded are not mine; they are government magic. I protect myself with traditional powers, not with guns.” While condemning the raid on his home, the youth leader said the federal government should focus its efforts on addressing insecurity, rather than “intimidating” him. “Nigerians and the international community should beware that desperate efforts are being made to force those arrested to make implicating confession statements. I advise the DSS to desist from their unprofessional acts and devote such energy to eradicating insecurity,” he said. “Nigerians and the international community should please note that I am a law-abiding citizen without blemish. I advise President Buhari to, in the interest of Nigerians that voted him to power, order his henchmen to desist from using falsehood and unholy tactics to soil my name. Such energy should be devoted to taming the herdsmen and bandits freely committing heinous crimes across Nigeria with impunity because their kinsman is in power. “Yoruba people would not be demanding for a nation if government had lived up to its responsibilities. Self- determination is not a crime and all efforts to silence us and acquire our ancestral land for local and foreign criminal herdsmen will fail. “Many Ken Saro-Wiwa arose after Nigerian government unjustly executed the non-violent activist. Those that emerged after him confronted government and almost brought Nigeria to its knees. I am another Saro-Wiwa. “Therefore, I advise President Buhari to learn from the mistake of past governments. I am not Nigeria’s problem and should not be framed up or intimidated for contributing my quota to ensure peace reigns in my region and country.” https://www.thecable.ng/igboho-to-fg-im-not-nigerias-problem-dont-intimidate-me-for-ensuring-peace-in-south-west |

President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that Nigerians are now leaving white-collar jobs for agriculture. He said this was enhanced by the Federal Government’s back-to-the-land policy, according to a statement by his media aide, Femi Adesina, on Friday. The statement, which was titled, ‘Nigerians not regretting our back-to-the-land policy, President Buhari rells ex-Ethiopian PM’, quoted the president as saying this while receiving in audience former Prime Minister of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, His Excellency Ato Hailemariam Dessalegn Boshe. Buhari said the focus on agriculture by his regime “is paying off handsomely”, and “Nigerians are not regretting it”. He was quoted as saying, “We needed to go back to the land, as petroleum could no longer sustain the country, particularly with fluctuating prices. Today, we eat what we grow, and we have stopped importation of many food products. There’s no foreign exchange to even waste again. “Agriculture has also helped us to generate employment. We have embraced technology, and some people are even leaving the offices to go back to the land. And they are not regretting it. That is the feedback we get.” The former Prime Minister congratulated Buhari for achievements Nigeria has attained under him, especially in agriculture, and for successful management of the COVID-19 pandemic. Saying he was in the country on the auspices of Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa, His Excellency Boshe noted that the organization was working in 16 countries in Africa, “and if we want to change anything in the continent, it must start with Nigeria.” He stressed that Africa must emulate what is happening in other parts of the world as regards agriculture, and with Nigeria having achieved greatly, being able to stop rice importation, “ we want to champion the Nigerian policy at the continental level. We should have a common African voice on food self-sufficiency. Africa can feed the globe.” https://www.tori.ng/news/174025/nigerians-now-leaving-offices-for-farms-buhari.html |

An amendment bill seeking to increase the fine for the illegal importation and sale of firearms, from N1,000 to N1 million, has been passed by the senate. The bill titled, ‘Firearms Act 2004 (Amendment) Bill 2021’, was passed on Wednesday after the senate considered the report of its committee on judiciary, human rights and legal matters. The new amendment altered some sections of the old act in order to increase the sanction for illegal arms dealers. The section 35 of the extant act was also amended to impose a fine of N3 million or imprisonment of three years — or both — on anyone who failed to surrender illegal firearms to relevant authorities whenever so directed. The amendment bill also altered sub-clauses 4 and 5 of clause 39 to allow firearms that are not of military serviceable grades, but are serviceable, to be deployed for use by civilian joint task forces and registered vigilance groups. However, the senate said this should be done with the approval and supervision of the office of the national security adviser. Michael Bamidele, chairman of the committee, during the presentation of the bill, said the N1,000 fine in the extant act was not punitive enough to deter illegal importation and sale of firearms. Bamidele noted that the bill gives other law enforcement agencies, besides the police and military, the power to seize and destroy confiscated illegal firearms. He said the bill was necessary in the wake of the proliferation of firearms and attendant insecurity challenging the country. “The fine was pegged at N1,000 in the extant Act which was not punitive enough to deter illegal importation and sale of firearms,” he was quoted as saying by NAN. “Clause 39 of the bill, which deals with power to seize and destroy confiscated illegal firearms, was amended to provide for inclusion of other law enforcement agencies besides the police and the military. “This is necessary because the power to confiscate or seize illegal firearms should be all-inclusive and not limited to a particular arm of force or law enforcement agency.” https://www.thecable.ng/illegal-firearms-senate-passes-bill-to-increase-fine-from-n1000-to-n1m |

Former South African president, Jacob Zuma has been sentenced to 15 months in prison after being found guilty for defying a court order to appear before an inquiry probing wide-ranging allegations of corruption during his tenure from 2009 to 2018. This is the first time in South Africa’s history that a former president has been sentenced to prison. Zuma, who wasn’t present for the ruling on Tuesday, June 29, was ordered to hand himself over within five days to a police station in his hometown of Nkandla in KwaZulu-Natal province or in Johannesburg. Back in January, the Constitutional Court ruled that Zuma had to respond to questions from a judicial commission headed by Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo. But the 79-year-old former intelligence operative accused the court and Zondo of bias, walked out of one scheduled panel hearing in November, and boycotted another in February. The panel responded by filing contempt charges against him. “The Constitutional Court can do nothing but conclude that Mr. Zuma is guilty of the crime of contempt of court,” acting Chief Justice Sisi Khampepe said in a ruling in Johannesburg on Tuesday. “Mr. Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Zuma is sentenced to undergo 15 months imprisonment.” According to report, the government estimates more than 500 billion rand ($35 billion) was stolen from the state during Zuma’s rule, and at least 40 witnesses who’ve appeared before in court linked the ex-president to the looting spree. However, Zuma, who was forced to quit in 2018, has denied wrongdoing and says the allegations against him are part of a smear campaign. https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2021/6/south-african-court-jails-ex-president-jacob-zuma-for-15-months-for-contempt.html

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State on Monday claimed most of the bandits terrorising the country are not Nigerians. The governor said this while charging Nigerians to try their best not to “make them succeed in forcing us to change our normal lives”. This is as the governor released about 1000 combined security agents to ensure the rescue of the 136 abducted students from Salihu Tanko Islamiya School in Tegina, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger state. “Most of these Bandits are from outside the country,” he said in his address to the agents. “They are hired to cause problems for us. It is not the habit of the true Fulani to indulge in this kind of act.” The agencies comprise the military, police, civil defence and vigilantes. After a visit to some parents of the abducted children, Bello assured them that the government has resolved to take decisive measures in ensuring the safe return of the children. “These bandits are well organised and coordinated. We can not fold our arms anymore but to take decisive and necessary steps to apprehend those involved, both the informants and the bandits. “They started by displacing farmers from their farmlands. Next they moved to burning farms, then moved to kidnappings and forcing us to close our schools. Now they have started attacking Islamic schools, only God knows what is next,” the governor said. Bello who earlier met with parents of the 136 kidnapped students of the Islammiya School and other stakeholders at the palace of the Emir of Kagara, Alh. Ahmed Garba Gunna, commiserated with them and urged them to exercise patience as government is exploring all avenues to see to their safe rescue. He added, “Even though we have ruled out payment of ransom, it is time for government to take decisive measures towards ending the bandits activities that is forcefully changing the lives of the people especially in the rural areas. “The abductors are not honest. They are not honourable. After agreeing with parents they started shifting goal post and now we are here to take action.” The governor commended the security personnel for their efforts in fighting the bandits in the last few weeks. He said logistics have been provided and that their allowances and other financial benefits will always be provided as at when due. In his reaction, Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Ahmad Garba Gunna, (Attahiru II) commended the governor for all the support especially in security area to the emirate and the support given to the family of the kidnapped schoolchildren. Headmaster of the Islamiyyah School, Mallam Abubakar Alhassan who also spoke said the action of the government to go in full combat was a welcome development provided that their children will be brought back safely. Alhassan confirmed that 15 of his teachers escaped from their abductors in Zamfara State, with four already in Kagara and at a military facility in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State, where they will be handed over to the Niger State Government soon. https://dailytrust.com/bandits-foreigners-hired-to-terrorize-nigeria-niger-gov |

Actress Chioma Toplis has reportedly been ''arrested.'' A source close to the actress told LIB that some gunmen dressed in police uniform stormed her shop at Number 32 Lawani street, Abule Oja, off UNILAG road in Lagos at about 10am on Friday, June 18, and whisked her away. https://www.tori.ng/userfiles/image/2021/jun/21/chiomatoplis.jpg The source claimed that an investigation later revealed that the men who picked her up were from Zone 9 AIG's office in Umuahia and that she has been with the police since Friday. The source said efforts are currently being made to get her out as the men who picked her up never presented any warrant of arrest or a letter of invitation before picking her up and whisking her to Abia state. The source added that the reason for her arrest has not yet been stated. Chioma who is married to a UK top engineer, Andrew Toplis, resides there with her hubby and their three children. She frequently travels to Nigeria to oversee her businesses as well as do some acting. LIB reached out to the spokesperson of the Abia state police command, CSP Geoffery Ogbonna, who said he isn't aware of her arrest. https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2021/6/actress-chioma-toplis-arrested.html |
President Muhammadu Buhari virtually foreclosed the restructuring of Nigeria, Saturday, when he said there was nothing to restructure. “And again those who are discussing restructuring, my question is, what are you going to restructure? If you ask many Nigerians what they are going to restructure, you will find out that they have nothing to talk about. “Some of them have not even studied the 1999 Constitution. The 1999 Constitution is almost 70 to 80 per cent 1979 Constitution,” Buhari said during the launch of Kudirat Abiola Sabon Gari, Zaria Peace Foundation which took place at Ahmadu Bello University Hotels, Zaria. Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum (SMBLF), comprising Afenifere, Ohanaze Ndigbo and Middle Belt Forum, have been at the forefront of the campaign for the restructuring of the country. In a communique issued at a meeting they had, last week, they restated their demand for Nigeria’s restructuring. They opposed the ongoing review of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), demanding a brand new Constitution produced by the people themselves. Represented by the Executive Secretary, Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Alhaji Mohammed Bello Shehu, at the Zaria event, the President explained that for peace to reign in any society, people must be involved actively. “It is okay to demand for restructuring, renewal of Constitution, but what is most important now is how can Nigeria state make local government functional, how can Nigeria states make judiciary independent? “Rather, we ask Nigerians to focus on putting pressure on National Assembly members to make sure that that autonomy as enshrined in our Constitution is respected and implemented,” he said. “So if that were to be done, some of these issues like insecurity, you will find a situation where local government chairmen, in collaboration with traditional rulers, will form a chain of communication to figure out what is really happening. “So these are the things I expect those calling for agitation to do. “And I said also that majority of those calling for restructuring are people that are so afraid to go into partisan politics. And even if they were to go into partisan politics they will not win. “There is no government in the world that will cede their authority to the people that are not elected. You are telling us to resolve a system and call for an obscure conference to come and discuss how we can move forward as a nation, that can never be done and no country will agree to that. “So those who are doing that should go back and meet their representatives in the House of Assembly and ask for whatever amendment of Constitution. Due process should be followed. “The other issue is that those who are calling for restructuring and confrence, on what they call ethnic nationality, if you go to Southern Kaduna, Taraba, who is to represent them? “We have different combination of ethnicity in many states. Even Kano and Kaduna Igbo have properties. The same goes with Yoruba. There are Fulani in Port Harcourt . “So those calling for whether separation or restructuring, some of them I will say they are very naive or even mischievously dangerous. Those agitating for restructuring are ignorant of war and its consequences, because Nigeria is a dominant force in West Africa. “My appeal to each and everyone here is to try and educate their children. We are better as a nation, there is no way we can be separated. Separation of the country would not help matters.” Governor Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai, who was represented at the occasion by the state Commissioner for Education, Dr. Shehu Usman Mohammed, said Nigeria had grown beyond separation. While urging Nigerians to tolerate to live together, the governor said those calling for separation should come back to their senses because Nigerians are now in every part of the country. The Guest Lecturer, Professor Mohammed Tukur, spoke on the way out to end crisis among divergent citizens of Nigeria. “In as much as we want peace to reign amongst us, we must tolerate one another and respect our various norms and values,” he said. Tukur said mutual understanding and inter tribal marriage would also play significant roles in the promotion of peace amongst citizens, adding that there must be a policy to revamp the economy and review the nation’s security structure.
