The Mikel we saw in 2005 was a prospective superstar, but I think he remained complacent about himself as a professional footballer and concentrated more on making money, hence he was contented with being on Chelsea’s bench. Even the sister engines don't carry Toyota badge...

Enhanced Disclosure actually includes even spent convictions and police cautions, warnings, reprimands, even some driving offences.These would automatically disqualify one from many jobs. I know there could be issues in interpreting results sometimes like having DNA samples of close family members in crime scene..'are they the criminals or did they come into the scene as a normal routine of the relationship etc...But my submission was not about technical hitches or indeed how many hospitals are able to perform it...it's about expecting the victim or the family to pay for it. I'm sure you understood my argument but deliberately decided to shift it to where it would give you something to say, since you have nothing to controvert the issue I raised.

When I read writeups like this, I feel sorry for Nigerians. It's not archaic, it creates more curiosity and drives more traffic. It happens all over the world especially in tabloids. I'll only be disappointed if it turns out the person was not an engineer. Professionals should conduct themselves properly in the society. The respect they enjoy imposes some responsibility. They should be outed if they misbehave. They should have collected samples from the girl to test for his DNA if the report was made soon enough. I don't know if that was done. But the man's admission that he went into the house, actually raises interesting questions. She claimed he broke into the house. ...and he admitted he went into the house before recanting. Evidence of the break in is a strong circumstantial evidence. Why would you break into the house? Note also there can't be consensual sex between an adult and a minor. Technically, the case should continue as no individual can stop a criminal proceeding. It's an offence against the state, not to the individual so the state is prosecuting. In reality however, the case could not proceed without her cooperation because she's a key witness. Her loss of interest would certainly mean the end of the case..

Every government is clueless on COVID 19. Countries have eased and reintroduced lockdowns. Many governments are experimenting..We hope it doesn't linger. Government should begin now to plan what protocols to observe if it continues till next year..Some suggestions...Boarding school may have to be abolished, schools may operate in two or three sessions daily, the schools decontaminated after each session, each session may last for only 6 hours, Saturdays may be included to cover what time may not permit.etc..there has to be a firmly established protocol for this. It would be published and sent to every school. These are strange times.

Decent societies put a check on human excesses. Many civilized nations have done so successfully. In fact they have managed to create a culture of decency where people do the right thing even without the law looking at them, simply because it promotes the societal wellbeing..I give an example...In the UK people pay more for organic foods just because it protects the environment..People drive diesel cars on vegetable oil but still go out of their way to pay the tax that should have been paid on similar quantity of diesel, if it had been used. No one prompted them. Avarice and primitive accumulation are uncivilized acts and are seen most in underdeveloped parts of the world. It hacks back to jungle lifestyle where the strongest feed on the weakest. Hunan civilization goes in the opposite direction..

The baby that was the issue is already born. They should come together and discuss the baby's welfare. The guy can go to court and initiate divorce proceedings. He could claim he never loved her but was forced into the marriage on account of the pregnancy. I'm not aware of any law that imposes marriage on a man if he gets a woman pregnant.
