backbencher:
Why would one have sex with a drunk person, man or woman?

Once drunk, one is in no fit mind to give consent to anything
Can a woman be convicted of rape for simply having sex with a drunk man? These matters tilt heavily against the men. I'm not holding brief for Robinho, though. He should know better. Taking turns to have sex with same woman is irresponsible. She may have argued with one or two of them and the lawyers may have advised her to rope everyone in so as to have a stronger case. Having said that, Robinho shouldn't have gotten
involved in that kind of game, given his status.

RomanceRe: Don't ask What We Bring To The Table, Women Aren't Suppose To Bring Anything by fabienjoe: 1:22am On Feb 03, 2022
Princess80:
Most times I see men asking the question of what ladies bring to the table.

Seriously, we aren't created to bring, we are to process, the man is the provider, he will bring everything for us to process.

If u give us bring sperm, we give u babies
If u give us groceries, we have to give u food
If u give a house, we give u a home
Give us frustration, and trust me, i will surely multiply it and give u hell.

In the bible, Adam had everything and had dominions over it, the woman only came to help him harvest his raw materials.

When it comes to finance, Oga it is 100% ur responsibility, I could only assist when my husband isn't making much and he had future plans or if I earn better than he does.
U can't share financial burden with me and still expect me to cater for the children, wash, cook, clean all alone and still gather enough strength for ur wahala at night.
Bringing money is the only thing a man does, why on earth will u share that very one with me? When I object, u will call me a feminist, Oga masculnist, I will not share.
Every other responsibility in a home belongs to me, while financial responsibilities must be shared abi.
Note: sharing financial burden and helping are two different things.

Oya let the insults pour 123 go.
I don't really understand this thinking from Nigerian women. Even in the biblical times, there were queens. Are queens meant to 'process' what a man brings? In the traditional African society, the man farms yam, while the woman farms cassava. In fact the woman actually tends the crops till harvest. She goes to farm just like the man. She plants other things like okra, pepper etc and is an integral part of the family economy. Where is this 'created to process' mentality come from? Certainly not from any civilized and enlightened entity. The closest I can relate that to was a certain comment by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. This stance is primitive and doesn't make sense in the modern world. There were no house rent, electricity bills, school fees and all sorts of expenses in those traditional settings..I'm surprised that a woman that goes to work, spending more than 40 hours a week outside her home and possibly has a house girl would feel the family that has to deal with this absence does not deserve her financial contribution. That's tunnel vision. Nigerian women sadly grow up with all sorts of warped, unrealistic and contradictory philosophies..
BusinessRe: Why Are Nigerian Banks Not Using The Credit Card System Like Other Countries? by fabienjoe: 12:12pm On Oct 29, 2021
The reason is simple. No accurate data bank can be kept in this system. Many people live in irregular, untraceable addresses. Residential address is a critical part of loans especially unsecured ones like credit cards. You are required to inform your bank of any change in address abroad. There is equally no reliable credit database in Nigeria. I'm not sure how far BVN is addressing that Credit rating agencies like Experian would usually assign you a credit score the let's your prospective creditor determine your credit history and how much risk you represent. These financial infrastructure are lacking in Nigeria. Credit cards here would be a huge leap of faith, a shot in the dark for any organization engaging in it. The financial system doesn't work like that
Car TalkRe: Can Anyone Help Me Identify These Dashboard Lights by fabienjoe: 1:38am On Oct 15, 2021
The spanner means your car is due for servicing. Change your engine oil and filter.

The battery light means your alternator is not charging the battery. You may want to check your alternator.

The wavy line refers to the traction control. It means it is active but it shouldn't be when your tyre is not slipping so there is most likely a fault somewhere, especially seeing as the ABS light is on as well. They're all connected by the wheel speed sensor. The speedometer may equally be affected by same fault. It may be erratic or not work at all in this malfunction. Clean the wheel speed sensor for starters. If it persists, the system would need to be appropriately checked.
Car TalkRe: Has Anyone Ever Converted A Toyota Corolla From Manual To Automatic? by fabienjoe: 1:08am On Oct 15, 2021
I don't really see the point of the conversion. Many people (including me) still look for manual vehicles. They're becoming very rare. You can sell the car very quickly to someone that appreciates manual transmission. The money you would add to buy a factory made auto transmission car would be a lot less than the cost, trouble and potential trouble of conversion .Conversion is a shot in the dark. It could very easily go horribly wrong. Even at its best, it's never as good as the factory original .

Kokomo:
Avoid the version made for African and Asian , parts are more expensive they have more issues though I dnt know why huh, buy the american version, go with an Honda rewire guy, not necessarily mechanic, please scan, check if the emission status are all ready, if not drive the car until the status are ready, at leat the 02 sensor and the catalyst, If the radiator fan is connected directly or no thermostat or water used as coolant , please price the car as though you will replace the engine in 3 months luckily the engine at 130kish is not as expensive as corolla 320kish. Drive the car on a free way and ensure all the gears shift perfectly, check the bushen and engine mount for cracks. Check power steering for leak. Price accordingly
Mostly not correct. Connecting the fan directly and using water as coolant iare certainly not advisable but making an assumption that such an engine would pack up in '3 months' is certainly an exaggeration. Many people I know have used their cars thatN way for several years without any problems..Many have equally bought cars directly from overseas but drove straight into trouble within weeks. A car should be inspected before purchase and the general state of the engine should evaluated by scanning, test driving and general checks. Bad connections can be reversed and wrong fluids changed to the right ones, if the car checks out fine at the point of purchase.

What made you conclude this is an STD? This looks more like skin irritation. A cream with an antifungal, antibacterial and a steroid like skineal or funbact A should be applied twice daily for a week. If there's no improvement, some tests may be conducted. It doesn't look like an STD.
Car TalkRe: My Advise To Anyone Buying A Nigerian Used Car Now by fabienjoe: 2:13am On Sep 27, 2021
Some Nigerian mechanics carry out modifications you can't fathom in cars. I bought this Nigerian used Accord 2012 and realised that the fans were running directly with the ignition. The car was working fine, though. but I was not comfortable with that direct fan connection. I noticed that it hesitated a bit in the morning before starting. Not really troublesome but I didn't like it. I took it to my electrician and within 30 minutes, he reverted it to factory connection. I held my breath. I expected the car to overheat. It never did. I have travelled with the car over 150km at a stretch several times, under intense heat sometimes stuck in gridlock, the temperature needle remained just below the centre. what is more, the morning hesitation stopped. ..which begs the question, why that direct fan connection on a car with almost perfect cooling system? I've been using the car for over a year now without any problems. Sometimes Nigerian mechanics disrupt the operations of perfectly working vehicles.

For me. If a girl won't disclose her body count, then we don't business. Necessity or not. Though I know she could still lie about it.
That's a sign of insecurity. If this is that important to you, how do you ensure it doesn't increase after she must have started an affair with you? It can only mean one thing...you would suffocate her with jealousy and stalking..Don't dig too much into a woman's past. Live only with the secrets she's comfortable to disclose. Who even trusts these northerners? Did Buhari's failure start yesterday? Buhari has been failing since 2015, yet they returned him in 2019. If the constitution allows him another term, they would still vote for him. These 'truths' are coming out because he's no longer eligible for another shot and he doesn't appear to be in good physical shape to go any further, should they amend the constitution. Hakeem Baba Ahmed is only trying to deceive non discerning southerners. Truth is, the north values power more than life itself. All that's happening in the north today and more would be tolerated and accepted so long as the North keeps power at the centre. In fact talking about it would be seen as an attempt to knock the north off its perch and would be stoutly resisted.

Perhaps he never intended to pay back the cash, relying on his contacts in government to sort out the situation for him. Even then, whatever he borrowed to yield up to N5bn is a lot. Perhaps money for his gubernatorial campaign. Whichever way, he is either careless and stupid or both..

While not trying to justify the price tag, it must be noted that Nigerians and other poor countries pay more for cars than the developed world. Direct currency conversion of the cost does not usually give the full picture. In addiction to the cost of the car in the US, we pay for shipping and custom duties and the dealer's profit...We end up paying, sometimes, more than twice the cost of the cars in the US..Quite ironical..The richer nations pay less for goods and services, in sone instances than the poorer ones..But it boils down to bad leadership - no infrastructure, no transparency, no planning..The mulitinationals won't build plants here for production, so we keep bleeding..

FYI, those cars I listed have balance than most cars, or are you thinkimg because they are high, that they don't have balance?

Why do you think it is called "S"UV?
And what does the "S" stands for?

You can go ahead and race with a Toyota Camry or Corolla against a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado VXL/VXR on a highway in Nigeria.
Or a Lexus es350 against a lexus GL500.
Or use a MB c300/e350 against a MB SUV(I don't want to mention any particular one).

Too many ugly stories associated with these brands of vehicles..Someone would pop up and claim they are as good as our regular Toyota/Honda. Most reliability evaluation are actually carried out on vehicles' first five years of ownership ..Even then, the Japanese come tops..But we have to note that most of these vehicles come to Nigeria, on the average, after ten years of use, meaning even less reliability and more parts needing replacement. Our struggle for parts and technical competence for certain brands of vehicles is well known. Even if tests conducted abroad suggest they're reliable, the odds are stacked against them here. Everything points to an uncomfortable ownership experience..

Complete and utter garbage post. Deserves to be in the trash. Then again, considering your previous posts and your less than sensible comments and antecedents, one shouldn't expect anything reasonable from you and people like you.

You took a vehicle to the expressway, a definitely

poorly maintained vehicle considering that you're the owner or driver, and then drove at speeds far above the designated speed limits, and the vehicle tyres had a blowout.

Instead of you to put 100% of the blame on yourself and your very poor decision making abilities, you decided to blame the vehicle.

Your life is just a good example of the saying "A poor workman quarrels with his tools". Every thread you make, you're putting blame on everything and everyone apart from the primary

target of the blame, which is yourself.

Just take a look at the near bald tyres you decided to take to the expressway, I shudder to imagine just how terrible the condition of that car would be, with you as the owner. Frankly I don't care about you or about anything that happens to you because of your terrible decisions. My concern is for other road users and motorists who you may maim or kill with your senselessness.

My only hope is that you're the only one that would be affected if anything happens due to your lack of acuity, nobody else.

Will be waiting for your next thread where you blame Buhari for your wife not getting pregnant, or you blame your pot for your food not being tasty.

Nonsense.
I think the point is made that the blowout had nothing to do with the Corolla. The culprit is the poor state of the tyre coupled with the excessive speed which points back to the owner (driver) of the car. In fact the Corolla actually deserves credit for not flipping over but remained controllable in that highly unstable situation..But the name-calling is unnecessary..

Last month, my dad appeared in a dream telling me to hurry up in paying a vow he made in church of abt 50k before he died. I was warming up to pay the vow this month's ending as am stil servicing the loans i got from my bank.

He appeared last week to remind me but yesterday night's own came with severe flocking. Am stil feeling the pains from the cain he used at my back & joints..

How do i contain him before month end when i'll be bouyant to pay the vow.

Am afraid he may return with more beatings,. & am jst 30yrs old, & wouldnt want to have any part of my body deformed as a result.

Your suggestions wil be greatly appreciated!
A dead man cannot flog you ..Take that off your mind and you'll have peace. Redeem the pledge if you can but nothing is tied to it..

Originakalokalo:
My car smokes black only when accelerating but stops afterwards.

It burns oil too. However, everything else is fine. It fires well.

Any remedy? Can anything be done?

Or should I just change the engine?
When a car releases black smoke, it is said to burn rich..which means it is using more petrol for a given mass of air. It's not conforming to the stoichiomeric ratio. This is usually caused by defects in the system that controls the fuel/air ratio. That could be a host of things. It's most likely a sensor or injector problem - Mass Airflow Sensor or Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor, Coolant Tenperature Sensor, Oxygen Sensor, etc. The sensors should be checked for functionality and continuity. The car needs to be scanned to identify which of them is the culprit. The oil consumption is likely unconnected with the black smoke. Oil consumption should actually lead to blue, not black smoke. Cars, can however consume oil without visible blue smoke. It must be added that many engines consume oil to some extent during normal operations. It's normal if it's within certain limits. However, excessive oil consumption must be checked out. Some may recommend switching to thicker oil but the solution lies in engine rebuild (mainly replacing the Piston rings). This usually comes with mixed results. The lasting solution is the replacement of the engine.

To each his own though, I personally prefer European cars but that doesn't mean I'll disrespect a Toyota, maybe a Landrover/Freelander but never a Toyota
I'll certainly not disrespect Toyota as well. They're not all boring..but there are actually good reasons people knock Toyota interiors. Most Toyota interiors are made of cheap plastics and other materials that cannot stand the elements. You see many Toyota Camrys of 2007 to 2011 and Avalons of 2005 to 2011 with disintegrating interiors while the cars are still fully functional. This disgusting phenomenon even crept into Lexus..( RX330 especially) the more stable toyota interiors like 99, 2001, 2002 to 2006 Camrys' are just drab. The newer Toyotas like 2012 and upwards Camry appear to be made with better materials, though..So that reputation may change eventually..

So we suggest that we should scanned the car to know where the problem(s) is. The scanner said the problem is P1165 which is Swirl Control Valve Control Vacuum Switch. I don’t know what to do anymore. Please my brothers help me out because I’m really losing out on this car. Thanks
The haste with which Nigerians change their ECU's is alarming. Some of these strange car behaviours mostly relate to sensors and not the ECM. It's difficult to get a perfectly matching ECU for most vehicles, which is why changing the ECU mostly result in even more bizarre behaviours in most vehicles..The owner gets so frustrated that the car is put on sale..Many Nigerian used cars come with a swapped ECU and the buyer inherits a practically psychotic vehicle.
