Dating is NOT the same thing as courtship sis!
Read this https://iblp.org/questions/how-courtship-different-dating
Hey, which one is "behavioral dichotomy"on social media bawo, sis you are either "hot" or "cold"! You can't tell me "Jesus loves me" and "comment different". Who's child are you? Let's be guided!
I read the article you shared. Look, people define things differently. In the Western world, people date with the hope of settling down (marrying) with the man/woman they are dating. Check the original activities intended for dating and check the one intended for courtship. The definition of courtship, according to that article is not different from the original definition of dating. You can't separate the right from the wrong by definition; you separate them by showing people what is wrong and what is right.

It is our intentions that tells. Dating is not different from courtship, in that people who date with the intention to get to know each other with view of marriage in mind experience the same thing that people who court experience--according to the article you shared. When you court, you spend time with him, laugh together, play together, support each other, pray for each other, etc. Dating nurtures ground for same activities. People can tell you they court and still have sex; and people can date and abstain.

You can't just bump into a woman and take her to the altar. In a world a lot of people pretend, you need to mingle, call each other, spend time together, talk about life, career, ask questions about individual habits, know genotype class, meet each side parents, go to cinema, beach. Can this happen without premarital sex? Yes!!! People have done it! People who claim dating is different from courtship would still enjoy the aforementioned activities.
People date for 6 months, 12 months and even longer without sex. YOUR INTENTION for being with someone is what separate those who fornicate when they meet new person from those who stays pure.

But I understand that in Nigeria, we mix a lot of things together in a society without values and direction.

There is no difference between you and the fine girls you don’t like. Most fine people are so absorbed with themselves. It is worse when they are intelligent and can do the things they are assumed not to do.

They are used to getting attention and having their egos stroked. Their fellow fine people no get their time. Jaxxy was apt- it is a case of the AVAILABLE.

Yes, I am ugly and dull, that is why I got a handsome man. Lucky me!!
Okay, but that is your opinion ugly, dull, lucky girl grin grin grin

Their experiences with you has definitely been bad too and that is the exact reason fine people avoid themselves.

Now look at you, “I am good looking, knowledgeable, niche, future...blablabla”

Imagine a man with all that hubris- HEADACHE. Continue accessing yourself, average looking men will soon marry your 7/10 friend. Then you will come online again to ask why fine women marry ugly men. grin grin
Lols. If I can't say what I am then I don't know myself. Are you ugly? Are you dull? Do you have a career and a future you look forward to? Would you rather say No to these questions? See, there are times you have to describe yourself as you are--especially when you know you have come a long way, sacrificing for personal growth that other men neglects.

And I wasn't the one who gave her bad experience; it was a case of a man wanting so much a woman who doesn't want him. And there's nothing you can do to have her, or even make her see your worth.

Do you know I'm a man? Girl, beautiful girls are everywhere! When I am ready to settle down, there will always be ideal woman to go for.

This is why I dislike engaging females on Nairaland. The biases is too much. I never paint other people; there's no where I do that in my comments.
My experience with physically beautiful ladies so far, has been very bad. Unfortunately, they are drawn to me and I am attracted to them.
Let me crack you up: I have 5 ladies who we are friends waiting for me to ask them out. I just have to say it. The list was growing so much that a friend warned me that I need to be careful; I am not a womanizer, but they keep coming. Meanwhile, there were times no lady give me attention or time. God is my witness, one recently got very angry at me and said I disappointed her when I said I want to take my time and not ready to date. This is a lady with good education in the biomedical field, tall, and 7 over 10 physically beauty (if I am to rank her).

I don't hail myself, but if I look at assessment I have received, I am not lower or even average. It has cost me so much building the man I am becoming. Glory be to God! And thank you.

Anybody can mess up. Majority of Naija men and women are messing up everyday. A lot of Nigerian graduates are empty headed and they are not fine. You people should stop demonizing fine people. Find your partner and stick to them.

Reminds me of all these Toyota users that will be cursing Benz. Just say it is Toyota you can afford and enjoy it.

Are you a handsome or ugly man? Let me know which brush to paint you with. grin
Yea right. That is why most comedians are average/ugly and marrying the beautiful women you audio-handsome guys claim are not good.
The thing is, you can't paint me. You don't even have the pedigree to find and hold the brush required to do that, because if you're talking about class, knowledge, good look, niche and future, I am at the upper rung (by God's Grace). I grew up knowing that a man without knowledge and understanding, no matter how tall and handsome he is, is useless and will never live his destiny.

Nobody is demonizing ladies; I was saying beautiful ladies do mess up more than the average looking ones. This is not based on assumption but recent personal experience and of my close associates too, which is why pansophist got it right in his first comment. Beautiful ladies are usually consumed by the fine comments they receive and the many attention they get from men who just want to keep them as trophies, use and dump them afterward. Of course, there are beautiful women with beautiful heart, good character, etc. But majority do mess up, and it is pathetic, because I see that as waste of such beauty.

Why are you so defensive on every comment that seems to paint the exact picture? Are you a beautiful lady whose chances of ending up with a great guy is dwindling? And yes, fine boys do mess up like the ladies he described too; they can be without loyalty, greedy, double dating and not mean the love they claim to have for their ladies. But I just don't get why you have been so defensive. It says something about you than the comments.

Almost all fine girls are mentally arrested, they are likely to be shallow and entitled, as their beauty have open doors and favours for them. Also, they are the least loyal because boys are always hitting on them, and base on the law of statistics, she would fancy one, and zoom she goes.

The real issue of dating fine ladies is when they begin to grow older and lose their looks, then you're left with a huge mess of emotions to deal with. She had defined and built her personality off her looks, and the aftermath is like being baptised into a new life afterwards, a life where you have to bring something to the table and not just show off.
I have to say you are absolutely correct! But why don't these beautiful ladies have this knowledge? I mean, these days, many of them are actually dancing to the sound of the drum you beat here. Do they know that this is what will be their fate? What do you have to say to this?

Maybe you will get the financial help you need from here (I hope you do), and maybe not. From your previous post, you said your sponsor told you to sort out the admission yourself including the financial part; I wonder who says that to a 16-year old. Anyway, going forward, you have to consider the resources available to you and know how to maximize it. It is good to be ambitious and confident but try to balance it. There are schools in the US where you can get what you want. Follow EducationUSA on their various social media channels and monitor their website. They always suggest potential schools. Recently they talked about a student that was awarded over $70k per year scholarship by a college. If you have a strong financial strength, you can afford to gamble, maybe apply to a total of 10 ivy and safe schools.
We will know what support he's getting once I get those items I ask him to send in the email. This thing is very easy. Nobody has $$ under carpet like Nigerian politicians here. So, for whatever support I will rally others for him, there has to be evidence that his story is legitimate, and match his words with proofs of his academic excellence.

Cold water signifies the distractions put out to keep people living like there is nothing at stake . It signifies the belief of so many people , despite the happenings around, they see it as nothing and say it's normal!

Hot Water Signifies the Truth! It Signifies the Reality of events! It signifies the True Gospel and teachings of Jesus Christ and the times we are in today!

Yes i have a plan B

But I've been seeing my self in the great dome at MIT, the schwarzman college of computer science, the Killian court.
In my dream ❣️
You have been enveloped by your dream, but tip the flap and try to look outside so you can see your realities.
Having a dream is not really hard, paying the price is. In my 20s, I learnt that if you want to help anyone who want to pursue their dreams, ask them what they have committed first. You know, what have they done for themself towards this dream? I can support one way or the other, but how far have you gone in supporting yourself to achieve this dream?
Let me guess you're from the grassroots. Life is very, very hard for youths who have beautiful dreams from this social class. But you have to look at the realities, so that you will be guided and not miss out.

Now, read this carefully. Getting admissions in the US entails many things: morale, consistent finance, academic soundness, focus to finish what you start. The financial aspect is the reality I want you step out of your dream to assess. As an undergraduate student, you have to apply to 2-3 schools at least, especially since you need full-ride scholarship and you don't have 100% assurance that if you apply to only one school, it will offer you that. Hence, 2-3 school is the best.

We'll use $/N400 for the calculation below.
Let us say each school application fee cost $40 X 3= $120 (N48, 000). SAT=N50, 000
Let us assume you manage resources and apply to schools that only ask for WAEC scratch card for admission. So, no WES or ECE.
Let us assume admission then came for fall 2021. SEVIS FEE = $350 (N140, 000); Visa fee =N70, 000
(God forbid that you're refused once, you will need another visa fee).
Let us say you need flight ticket in the fall, which would cost approximately N300K to 350K.
TOTAL: N608, 000

That's more than half of a million Naira. This is the reality I want you to partially remove the veil of your dream to see.
My dear, how do you plan to raise this money? How much can we give to support you from here? If you need moral and professional support, from the scratch to the end, I'm in for you. I will even try to support you with application fee, and get you people you can stay with in the States if your school is around them, for free. If someone here help you with 50K SAT fee, how will you get the 558K to run this race successfully?
If I were your mentor, these are the questions I'd ask you.

Now, sit down quietly and think. What can you do? How much can you raise? Who can you ask to help? Anybody in the family? If none, as that may be the reason you come here to ask for support, please focus on studying in Nigeria.

Nigeria is a wicked country and its entire system has been made hostile and shaped by difficult hands against children of the poor at the grassroots. It is what it is! But you have to fight for your dreams anyway. How you fight for this dream is now left for you to device...
You can study in the US, but it seems the best time for that is not now. Maybe Master's is ideal.
Got your request for DM. We will talk better.

Can you interpret the message in the picture attached?
I have been observing how you emphasize on God's showing us warning of last days, and I was wondering if you can share what you think about this image. Let me tell you how it came to be. In 2013, I saw a very scary dream, in which I was bathed with both cold and hot water, then clothed in white rob. There were many other young men at the scene with same experience. It was like a University hostel.

In the dream, after the bath, I came out, then I saw a lot of ancient books, of the types catalogue in Library of Congress as very old books written by men in early centuries. But the books were big. I saw some with "Political", "Economics", "Business", "Religion", written on them each. I picked the one with religion written on it. Then I opened from the centre and I saw an image, like a painting converted to an image and printed on a book. Although it was a still image, it appear like a video. I then saw a giant throne at the centre occupied by someone as if this person is the most important figure in the image, with a lot of other persons they didn't really look like human beings) surrounding it. Then I saw a person similar to the popular image of Jesus; he was holding a ax and cutting the trunk of a black, big and tall tree standing in front and at the centre of the throne,

Each individual in this image, including the one sitting on the giant throne, were labeled, as though it's a diagram. The more I tried to look at the faces of these individuals, the darker their faces became as if it's forbidden to see their faces. I looked at the language used for the label, but it was not English; In fact, not a language I could read. It was very mysterious.

I woke up trying to understand the image and its content. That's how I drew this tree. I drew a more detailed image as seen in the dream, but I wouldn't share that. Scared, I read the Bible and a chapter in Luke where Jesus talked about a tree and of its vineyard owner, hoping I would find the meaning. Eventually, I had it in my spirit to fast for 3 days, which I easily did because I enjoy intermittent fasting a lot because of its health benefit. After fasting and praying for 3 days, purposely for this, I heard a voice on the third day in the afternoon that the image I saw pointed to an event that would occur in 7 years. Remember, all these happened in 2013, I wrote the dream down in details in my journal. 7 year from 2013 is 2020. Do you think we are being cut down with all these events happening around the world?

I tried to understand the tree as humanity, as even in the spiritual realm (of all religion on earth) man, nation, and humanity itself has been described as a tree.
Just asking for your opinion on this. Thank you!

I think it's healthy for our relationship with people that when we talk with those we don't really know their age, background, etc, we should "show" respect or communicate it in our choice of words.
It's sometimes funny how some people address people they don't know anything about on this thread. I have communicated with bank managers, branch managers, millionaires with thriving business, mothers, fathers, and even people that occupy influential position in their professions from this forum. Same for several young people. Some of us who are very active here must have had the same experience.

Respect is for all people, no matter what you may happen to do for them in the future. Using "Hey" is very fine and goes well with all people--both in the first world and in the third world nations. But using "Kiddo", in my opinion, can send a bad message. Kiddo means child or kid. I mean, we shouldn't really address people with that when you don't know them?

First impression, good impression, respect for all people, communicating with the right words--says a lot about who we are than the people we are communicating with. I am even very slow at identifying young men and women I have talked with on this thread as my junior, let alone using kiddo. This is my opinion though. But I understand the perspective you're talking from.

sheke01:
Mehn I pray y'all get your visas o so y'all can see the other side of the world. FYI, kiddo is an informal greeting. Same way most of you think "Hey" is a word that shouldn't be used on elders when actually "hey" is a greeting.

I wish we can learn not to be so fast to attack. Come to think about it, you are trying to go through a path other people have gone through, so you are their kiddo with respect to that path, so am still correct to address you as "kiddo" on this thread. If you come to the city where I live in, i can pick you up at the airport, accommodate you and help you find your way around town. So yes, you are "kiddo" in that regard.

And that post is not in any way about enthusiasm dampening. It is not even dampening anything at all.

Age might be a big factor in the part of the world where you are right now but age is not a big deal in the part of the world where you are aspiring to be. You will learn that soon kiddo

Kimzylove:
Is there a particular age criteria for Undergrads seeking admission?
Most US schools will offer you undergraduate admission, even if you're 25 or 28 (so long you can defend why you're just applying at this age).
However, at the US embassy, age is a factor when consular is considering the credibility of an undergraduate student. In most cases, you should be under 23 when applying for F1 visa as undergraduate student. 23 isn't even safe or that it won't be frown with questions; in cases I have seen on and off this thread, strong answers had to be used, and there were students who never got their visas. For example, I have students who insisted they would go through EducationUSA membership, but the agency also work with age limit, that is, being under 23--for undergraduate.
For Daniel who I mentioned earlier, he was 22 when he applied for his F1 last fall, and was even refused despite being EducationUSA member. I guess the preparation EAC gave him and the type of consular he met didn't work together. We had to work again on the answers and he was approved the second time.

Age 16 is very ideal for both admission and visa, especially if the student SAT is strong and admission comes with funding. I'd not recommend any student travel to the US for undergraduate studies without full-ride or something close to 90% funding, except your sponsor is a Nigerian politician or a magnate. More so, there's sea of opportunities for young people. I currently have young men that represented their schools in 3 international conferences last year; we all connected from this thread, including one fully sponsored by Visa Card. I am sharing this extra information to let potential undergraduate students here know that if you pay your price in SAT, attention to school searching, mingling with potential undergraduate students like yourself, the reward can be huge. The funding you get is like a badge; you carry it throughout the studies and the school usually recognize you as one of their best, for example honors.
Best of luck!

I was planning to take the SAT this year but due to the pandemic I'm not sure if that would be achievable , next year though I believe it'll be possible .
For now , I'm still focusing on my preparations for the exam ( in terms of reading) because I'm really hoping to score a very high score to get a full ride as I can't afford the education there .It has been my dream for years to study in the US for years and I believe getting a full ride scholarship there is achievable if I work hard .
What I just wrote is just a brief description of my goals , I'm sorry I'm not precise enough ,I wanted to fully express myself since I'm new here.
Also , I'm 16 years old and I want to pursue an undergraduate degree,My high school gpa is an 'A' average result as I was a straight 'A' student( just in case this question ever comes up)
Please I'll be asking a lot of questions , I'll also love to get polite replies .
My first question is do you think I can get a full ride with a high SAT score and these results or I'll need to prep for another WAEC huh. Please I really need answers
I saw drDoom3 comment, and that was really nice.
There is a young man here called Daniel. I can't remember his username, but I will ask him. He was a member of EducationUSA and one of the ambassadors before he traveled last fall; still have connection with EAC though (they even paid his flight ticket to the US). Will try to link you with him. Send me a DM.
Once you hit a high SAT score, you will get full ride scholarship, and your age is really nice for this mission you are about to pursue. I suggest that you don't worry about your WAEC, but instead invest your energy on destroying SAT. Try to score 1450-1500 if possible. Even 1400 will get you full ride with some schools in the US. Focus on the SAT and follow the instruction the other guy has given. Extra coaching will help, but the exam can be prepared for if you focus on reading textbooks, practice, etc without tutoring. Most of the students who reached out to me from here didn't use tutoring, but they studied very, very hard. When you get the SAT right, please mention me. I will share list of schools I have you can pick from.

Really inspired by what you hope to achieve at this age. Best of luck dear!

For someone who is described by his fans as Aristotle, he is quite naive. Sometimes all you need to go far in this show is being an all-round nice guy with no entanglement like Mike.

Kidd is probably only holding on to Erica because other guys want her. The moment he perceives a drop in her social value, he will move on to the next fascinating girl. Human beings are often drawn to people other people want or people who are already taken. We endlessly strive for that which is seemingly unattainable. It takes a deliberate conditioning of the mind to resist this tendency.

If Laycon would detangle himself and continue living in that house without going about with a long face, feeling like a victim, he would be admired by the viewers. If not, he’d better hope he has an enigmatic, fiercely loyal horde of a fan base like Tacha’s.
If these are your own words, mehn, respect for you. I like people with deep minds! smiley

Whatever that suits u bro.. buh hey that's ur experience. Beside we get over these things at some point. It's been what 5 or 6yrs now I went to club. If u don't enjoy ur youth sometimes u might look back and say I wish did this or that... Whats bad for u could be good for someone else
Youth can be enjoyed and preserved. You can still experience the same vibe you get in a club at home, either as a married woman in her late 30s or even 40s. But you're right that what is bad for someone may be good for others. But in most cases, people who abuse their youth with clubing, sex here and there, smoking, drinking, having no vision, ends up paying painful price later in life.
I kind of think one can enjoy life, even deeper and better, after youth, and still be without regrets for things never done in youth.

A wise person should not fight with a pig in the mud, or else his fine linen would get stained and he'd have all the blame to take.
You're a coward, who registered a new account some minutes ago just to get entangled in what's none of his/her business.
It's your bullish master I'd like to gift sense, not his errant boy/girl. I'll not reply you other mentions.
