Hisduchess:lolx. You want to play smart right? Well you can't angrily take a valueless money to another man's country and spend it at your own satisfaction. Let's say, if a Zimbabwean brings his $4billion{Zimbabwe dollars} to Nigeria for the sole purpose of spending the money here. At the of the day, he might just be able to buy one plate of food with his $4billion in Nigeria and that's if he is even lucky |
realonecraft:Ok have you involved any of your relations; like sitting down with any of them and explaining things to him/her? You know in this kind of scenario, both your people and the people of your fiancee have to sit down and talk things out. Have this kind of thing happened? In my own case, I involved my uncles, auties and very closed friends a lot, my wife did the same thing too. Have both of you done that yet?. She being in school isn't a problem here, but mutual trust and understanding between you both should be the top priority. Though she have to focus on her education and all that, but some time have to be spared where both of you can convinced one or two relations of yours to see reasons with you, and to also reach a common ground |
NOETHNICITY:lolx. Let's just leave this story for another day. You know I never would've even commented here if not that the original poster's story related to my one time love saga. Anyway plans are still on the way bro |
Georgry:The simple answer is inflation. The currency notes that we use don't have any intrinsic value, rather the have exchange value. Which means 50naira doesn't mean its value is 50naira but you can exchange it for goods and services. A country like Zimbabwe couldn't understand this simple economics and they went ahead to produce more and more currencies, at the end what still happened? Well even a pen ended up costing thousands of Zimbabwe dollars and a bread was sold for as high as $2million{Zimbabwe dollars}. Their inflation rate rise to about 80 billion percent. Funny. And everybody in Zimbabwe instantly became a billionaire{ poor billionaires} |
I can relate to your story because the same thing happened to me way back. I'm a Fulani person from kano state who eventually fell in love with a Christian girl from delta state. We met at school, one thing led to another and we became inseparable, like some kind of lovebirds. The religion and ethnic barriers were there, but that couldn't deter us, rather we kept firing on. Then the issue of marriage came up and that's when the whole drama started. On my side, my parents were against our marriage, on her own side, the case wasn't any different. My heart was broken. I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't even think straight. I watch in pains and agony how the lady I truly love was shedding tears like a 3yrs old girl everyday. To make matters even worst, my old woman went and confronted the parents of the lady I love. It was really hard then but we didn't give up. We sent emissaries to both our parents who were so fortunate to convinced both our parents. We used uncles, aunties, friends, religion leaders etc. It was a very trying time but I didn't give up, my fiancee didn't give up either. Me and my lady fought for our love for about one solid good year or so. Anyway this happened around 2010/2011, and today we have been happily married for about 4yrs now. Mr realonecraft, if you really do love your lady and she loves you back wholeheartedly, Please don't give up on yourselves. Fight it out. May God strengthen you both and guide you. |
Feshizzy:Emotions! Emotions!! Emotions!!! My bro, you should always separate your emotions from reason. Of course nobody, and I reapeat nobody is happy with the pitiable state many Niger/deltans are in today. But the other problem with Niger/delta people is that you don't ask your leaders questions, you don't hold them accountable for anything. You all are made to believe that your problem begins and ends with the federal government. Now if I may ask you, which region in Nigeria enjoys half of the benefits accorded to the Niger/delta? Don't forget that before oil was discovered in Nigeria, groundnut, cocoa and palm oil were our major export earners. And the proceeds from these export commodities were shared equally among the various region in Nigeria. So this new agitation about resource control among your people is so uncalled of. Don't also forget that no President has ever took it upon himself to clean up the Niger/delta, but buhari is about to do that, so what exactly is the problem of the agitators and some illiterate militants destroying their lands? NOTE: Northerners don't control the resources of Niger/delta but multinational oil companies do. |
fewj:I'm sorry about your grandma and all the innocent citizens that have been caught up in this avoidable madness. The reality is, we as a people can't continue going in circles. Actions have to be taken, and I mean serious actions. If you dialogue with these avengers today, then another group of criminals will emerge tomorrow. The government has been really fair in dealing with militants in the Niger/delta, but unfortunately the militants mistook the government's "fair deal" as cowardice. Is simple, if you are aggrieved about anything, violence is never the answer. And if you pick up arms against the state then you are probably inviting some anarchial situation in your home. Anyway don't get stressed up, everything will be back to normal in some couple of days in the Niger/delta. We all want peace, but don't forget, some peace are gotten through brutal violence. At this trying times in the niger/delta, May God continue to protect all the innocent fellows over there. |
signz:That JUNK you called confabulation will not be implemented because it is unconstitutional, illegal and a waste of resources. Besides buhari isn't the appropriate "body" to implement it, your NA is the body to implement it. Buhari won't give in to any cheap blackmail from any part of this country. Militants say they will make his government ungovernable, we are keenly waiting for them. I promised you, the avengers or whatever they are called will regret the very first day they blew up a pipeline just to spite the president. And tompolo should pray very hard because when he is finally apprehended like the common criminal that he is, believe you me he will never be the same again. Already the militants/economic terrorists asked for it because they thought they are somehow "invincible and untouchable", but the creeks will be comb and the rag tag militias will eventually be smoked out. It was done in sambisa forest which is by far bigger than the tiny creeks the avengers are hiding in, same thing will be repeated in the creeks. BUHARI WILL NEVER DIALOGUE with any criminal group. Militancy in the Niger/delta will be stamped out once and for all |
Hdayo1:Stop writing gibberish here and you should also reframe from saying what you don't know. The country called Nigeria today, sardauna NEVER agreed to be part of it. Your leaders{azikwe, awolowo}, pleaded with sir Sirdauna to join the "new nation called Nigeria". These are facts with evidences/proofs and not the horseshit you people say. Another e.g was that of late major general murtala ramat Mohammed, he also wanted to take north out of Nigeria. And at the end who pleaded with him? Azikwe has always wanted one Nigeria because of some reasons best known to him, same goes to awolowo. The only people that opposed the creation of one Nigeria from the start were northerners. So you people should stop trying to rewrite history. |
The man{dele} is a "journalist", so I suppose he is doing his work{journalism} |
funkydislo:Young man I know what am saying. Nothing has been implemented so far. The governor of CBN is a clown who doesn't know what he is doing there. How can one just wake up one bloody morning and introduce some archaic silly policies without giving it any consideration? Not everybody is a politician or some kind of thief. Innocent Nigerians doing businesses and studying outside Nigeria shouldn't pay for the crimes of some selfish, garrulous and silly politicians |
Your Excellency, may God continue to help, protect and guide you. Nonetheless, some of your policies are too archaic for my liking. Especially the forex restrictions. Not cool |
TonyeBarcanista:Buhari's start off was very poor. From the ministerial appointments, forex policies, food importation and the budget drama. I totally agree with your "buhari start up" remark. So many bad policies from the start |
TPAND:I repeat the BUHARI ADMINISTRATION will NOT dialogue with them. I thought you guys were rejoicing with the damage the militants are doing to your own lands. Well let us sit down and watch how everything will unfold in the coming days. Funny. Some people are destroying the businesses empires of western countries and the same people are still hoping for some magical intervention from ICC/human rights bodies when the Nigeria government unleashed its own madness. I laugh P.S This will be my last post on any militants thread on this forum. |
TPAND:Buhari WILL NOT dialogue with them. Let them destroy their lands. The same people rejoicing whenever these economy terrorists blow up pipelines will still be the same people that will cry to the FG in the few days to come. Already the militants are destroying pipelines of multinational companies{USA, Britain} which I think is a bad approach. Anyway interesting days are still ahead. We will see how this movie will end. |
989900B: |
Tbh this administration really goofed big time with the forex and food importation policies. And now that they realized their mistakes, we can see how they are stylishly reversing those archaic policies. Who is even the CBN governor? That dude is incompetent |
Ikechukwu183:Shred me you said? Well I know if you should see like face 2 face, man 2 man, eye 2 eye, believe me you will shit in your pants. I'm your worse nightmare my friend. I'm that person in your beginning and in your end. Hope you decipher? |
Uduak2019:I have told you people like a thousand and hundred times that I'M NOT A YORUBA person. I don't have any ancestral connection with Yoruba people, though I respect them. |
kcnwaigbo:I'm all for peace, prosperity and progress. That's the 3Ps. Who wants war when peaceful resolution is available? Yeah nobody wants war, blood, deaths, hunger and tears my friend. The oil in the delta doesn't worth the blood of a single deltan. If bribery or whatever will bring a moderate peace and understanding between the FG and the vandals, then so be it |
I thought the so called avengers are blowing up their lands so that their people will be emancipated from the shackles of "absolutely zinc", why will they collect any bribe then? Hmm!!! Anyway I still don't believe that the minister bribed them. Maybe they{avengers} had a rethink. Of course they will have realized the foolishness in blowing up their lands just to spit the President. When I was pointing out their foolishness here, some people were busy saying different things. Long live the Niger/Delta |
Which one is " I am cait" again? Is it a show for cats or what? I don't get |
plaetton:There is also nothing wrong with being a fan of NOI but that still doesn't mean one should sweep the truth under the carpet. Don't forget so soon that OBJ transferred NOI to the foreign affairs ministry from the finance ministry she was basically heading when he discovered how dubious she was even before she wisely resigned. The Paris club scandal which NOI was involved is still fresh in our minds. The $2billion saga is still in our heads. You come here defending NOI as if your life depends on it and at the same time you want to send buhari to Hades even before his time. If NOI was so good as you want us to believe, do you think OBJ would have transferred her to foreign affairs ministry when she was working with him. Have you even heard what soludo said about NOI? Did you think soludo was crazy when he accused her of running our economy aground? I seriously do respect Mrs NOI{may God bless her} but it has always been clear that her first interest is world bank and not Nigeria. My bro there are just too many scandals surrounding NOI which I will for another day. Two days ago, serap just accused her of not accounting for some monies. You can deny everything wrong with NOI and her archaic economic policies but can you deny her final warnings when she said "Nigerians should brace up for tougher times ahead". |
koboko69:I also noticed that. Maybe the guy thought he can override everybody with his garbage and lies, but I guess he quickly realized he wasn't engaging half baked literates, so he had to quickly back down. But you know, the silliest thing the guy did was countering you when you made some references to what NOI said. I couldn't even believe my eyes when the guy said premium times were lying. Lolx |
plaetton:. So if you know the fall in oil price precipitated our economy woes, then why are you hallucinating all over the place? You just chunk out your lies{not backed up with any proof} from wherever God's knows and you want everybody to swallow them. Learn to debate with facts and not with what your mind tells you. I asked you some pertinent questions in my previous post here and I can see how you have illogically avoided the questions. I'm sorry to say this; but my friend you are not intelligent neither are you smart. You know absolutely zinc. You are just like the average buhari hater who uses sentiment, bigotry and hate as his basis for intellectual argument. From your first Post on this thread to this one that I just quoted, I didn't see where you backed up your arguments with clear proofs. If you don't have anything to say aside from disproving other peoples opinions that are backed up with clear evidences, please you better shut up and stop fooling around here. Premium times quoted NOI in her own words and you are here busy saying she never said that. Then I ask you again, provide your own proof that NOI didn't say that and save us from all the unnecessary drama. And as for the questions I asked you on my previous post; I know you can't answer any one because the truth won't even let you do that. |
plaetton:We are not talking about leadership here rather we are talking about the ECONOMY. So don't even try to divert from the subject of discuss here. I won't like to waste my time by pulling out figures and numbers here just to make you see reasons with me. But I'm going to ask you this questions; How much did Jonathan left in our excess crude account before handling power to buhari? Why did the previous administration had to borrow money in the last two months of their administration if our economy was so buoyant? Jonathan sold oil for a whooping sum of $147 per barrel for about 5yrs, why wasnt the monies accounted for? I'm trying as hard as possible not to bring OBJ's administration and what he left for late yar'adua into this discuss, because doing that will just expose your hypocrisy. Ok let me even use the obj-yar'adua tenure change. Now how much was oil sold during OBJ's tenure? How much was our debt when obj came on board? How much did he leave in our external reserve before handling power to yar'adua? And how much was our debt before handling to yar'adua? If you have any sincerity in you, I bet your conscience will itch you. Jonathan messed everything up and handed buhari a broken economy, a fragile GDP, a bankrupt nation ravaged with corruption. And you in your little wonderfully decorated world of lies think is very OK if we don't call Jonathan's name. You know some of you are very funny |
plaetton:When Jonathan was running the nation aground, nobody asked him to resign, rather Nigerians mobilized and voted him out. So I will equally advice you to also mobilize your fellow compatriots and vote buhari out in 2019. And this "unfortunate person" statement you used in the concluding part of your post is rather unfortunate [/i] |
1NigeriaOnlyIf:Funny. The economy template of this administration is there on APC site if that's all you care to know. If you are too lazy to go there I can help you; http://www.allprogressivescongress.org/manifesto/ Whether you want to hear it or you don't want to it, the truth must be told. And the truth is buhari INHERITED a bad economy from the previous government. There was virtually any left in our excess crude account/external reserve. Our debt increased while our GDP was already declining. Some organizations were already retrenching workers. Our inflation rate was increasing while recession was very imminent. It was so bad that the Jonathan administration had to borrow in the last two months of their tenure just to pay workers. Now I asked you; The previous administration sold oil{our only export earning commodity} for about $147 per barrel for almost 5yrs, now tell me, what the hell did they do with all the money and where did they kept the money? |
plaetton:color=#990000]Premium times quoted the former finance minister in her own words. So what are you saying again?[/color] |
1NigeriaOnlyIf: 12:23pm On May 23This was what a supposed educated person had to tell me on the other thread just because I dared to expressed my own opinion about our recessional state which is very imminent. Buhari inherited a bad economy from the previous administration, and people feel is always right when we blame buhari for all our economy woes while exonerating the previous administration of any wrongdoings. I could vividly remember when the then finance minister was urging Nigerians to brace up for the tougher times ahead. |
davodyguy:Is the solar power connected to another "solar power station" or is the solar power connected to a fussil power plant? I don't really get you bro, please elaborate |
Jimmyfact:Just because they don't agree on some certain issues doesn't mean they are fighting one another. |
