PoliticsRe: Court Stops NLC, TUC’s Tuesday strike by firearcher: 8:54am On Nov 11, 2023
janvier27:
As it is now, no union can go on strike. The right to strike is gone. Since ngige with his five rings on five fingers established comradeship with the court to stop ASUU strike & we all applauded him, that'll be the template for all unions going forward. ASUU is an affiliate of NLC & yet NLC did nothing then to protest the ridiculous govt actions. I do have reservations with ajaero's approach and obvious election interference, but bastardising courts is a legacy of ngige & his presumed boss, buhari.
The government will always argue that the strike would not be in the nation's interest. So the NLC should counter with legitimate reason allowed by law why they should have the strike.

If you want a nation governed by the rule of law, then every institution, not just the government must be ready to submit themselves to it.

Our idea of justice is that its a weapon to use to punish people or defeat ideas we don't like, forgetting that it goes both ways. Some people don't like you too and your ideas just like you don't like them and theirs too. So what do you expect the courts to do when you both go before it?
PoliticsRe: Court Stops NLC, TUC’s Tuesday strike by firearcher:
The day the NLC decided to go full blown politic is the day they destroy their legitimacy.
I don't think I have seen any NLC president public come out to campaign for or support any party.

Why? Because the NLC is made up of members with different political affiliations. All workers in Nigeria do not automatically support the Labour party so the leadership is supposed to play neutral.

Secondly, they are expected to negotiate with whichever party is in power and it might not be the LP. They need legitimacy and standing to represent the workers without the risk of being regarded as saboteurs - by the government and the public at large.

This NLC has messed up in these regard.
PoliticsRe: ‘Police Told Me To Say My Last Prayers’ – NLC President, Ajaero by firearcher: 12:29am On Nov 11, 2023
Hmm. Hard to believe that one. Political thugs are more likely to say this to a known face like the NLC president than real policemen in uniform.

Why detain the husband?
Strange right? It's the reason Nigerians don't go and report crime to the police.

I understand the husband being a person of interest in the investigation. But why immediately detain him. Any thoughts for the kids at home at all?
PoliticsRe: Court Reinstates LP Candidate As Lagos Rep, Obanikoro Congratulates Winner by firearcher: 8:50am On Nov 10, 2023
Congratulations to him and good one from Obanikoro to congratulate the victor and rally support for him.

Banky should do likewise so the victor can settle down to the job of legislating or legislooting until the next election.

They should leave these old guards - Atiku and Peter Obi to continue their do-or-die "I disagree with the Supreme Court" mentality and politics.
PoliticsRe: Governor Uzodinma Apologizes Over NLC President Attack by firearcher: 8:44am On Nov 10, 2023

PoliticsRe: President Tinubu Appoints Aderinsola Abiola As Senior Special Assistant by firearcher: 5:08pm On Nov 09, 2023
Hmm. Well. Those that labour at the altar eat from the altar, says the Holy Book.

When you see people like Aisha Yesufu, Dele Momodu, FFK, Onanuga, etc and many others working themselves out tirelessly for politicians, no be without expectations o. Na investment o.

So you can understand the anguish, disappointment and sometimes even bitterness when their choice losses.

At the end, we all vote for our self interest and those of your loved ones.

Addme:
Some things don't just add up. Something related happened in my area last Sunday where a man was caught sleeping with his wife's 13 years old younger sister. Guys gather beat the man and some of us stopped them from beating him and we were in the process of taking him to the Police Stations before the wife knelt down and started begging that we shouldn't do it. We initially refused but this woman was begging and crying profusely for her husband forgiveness.
I just left them to their issues, I no wan carry someone's issue for head.
Hmm. I figure she was thinking of all the pressure that will come from the family especially the in-laws and the stress she would face from the police eventually once they sink their claw into the man.

A strike is not meant to handle issues like this. Is it a retaliatory tool or a tool to push for negotiation and secure concessions?

LAXconfidential:
BY THE TIME APC IS DONE WITH NIGERIA, YOU WILL ALL CRY BLOOD!

People are dying in droves daily!

People are committing suicide daily!

People can no longer feed

People can no longer pay debts

Nigerians are suffering nail-biting poverty

But your president and his wife are living in sheer opulence emarking billions for themselves to spend and enjoy more life.

Tinubu was already a billionaire before he got into office, why not leave taxpayers money for us and use it to better our lives??

On top of all this, some people still come here daily to defend him because they were paid crumbs. Continue defending till it happens to your own kin. God will judge all of us on the last day.
Better be sure they are responsible for all these deaths and sufferings as you stated because unjust and false accusations also attracts God judgement.

These guys are political clowns. Is this the new Nigeria they are selling?

One where the courts have to rule based on public opinion? Where election losers can claim they all won the election without evidence and then set their supporters on the judiciary and other citizens who do not agree with them?
PoliticsRe: 2027: We Hope You'll Campaign On Issues And Not Religion - Bayo Onanuga To Obi by firearcher: 12:20am On Nov 07, 2023
How could any serious and progressive politician ask the Supreme Court to give judgement based on public opinion and not evidence before it? Seriously?

Was it public opinion that got him the various wins he had in the past at the Supreme Court?

CareerRe: I Am Extremely Shy - SAD - Can I Succeed Like This by firearcher: 5:26pm On Nov 06, 2023
I was in that place before many years ago and I lost out on some promising jobs at the final interview stages because of the problem. Those were many very unpleasant times and I understand the disappointment and pain.

But I went from that place to another where I have given public speeches and presentations at different levels and before different kind of audiences, local and international.

And you know the funny thing. I still get the butterflies and pounding heart from time to time. But I have learned the art of delivering regardless of the feeling.

Quick suggestions will be:

1. Master whatever you want to talk about. It will bring added comfort and confidence as well as ensure that your words, ideas and presentations become the focus - not you.

2. Practice and rehearse your presentations and conversations before the mirror, in the bathroom when taking your bath, and at any given opportunity. Sometimes it works like auto pilot or emergency backup when the rubber hits the road.

3. Watch, listen and learn from good speakers. You can acquire some oratory skills. Discover the styles and approaches that work for you

4. Learn to socialise and interact outside your comfort zone and familiar faces.

5. Learn to handle panic attack. Find your own way of dealing with stage fright. Mine is to zone out my environment and be in a place where I am standing alone.

If you need further advice on specific s, ask here or DM me.
PoliticsRe: Obi: Supreme Court Ignored Rigging, Forgery, That Isn't Part Of Our Constitution by firearcher: 3:35pm On Nov 06, 2023
SmartyPants:
So why didn't you present evidence of the rigging and forgery before the PEPT?

The laws are there and are clear for all to see. This man spent his time and money arguing that Shettima was double nominated, that Tinubu has a cr8minal conviction, that there is an impossible special requirement only applicable to the FCT, and that INEC not transmitting via IREV meant the election should be cancelled.

All of these arguments can only sweep the masses away but cant stand a minute of scrutiny in any Court.

So what was he expecting?

You go to Court to say A then come to the media to say B. Very dislikeable character. Same with Atiku but that one at least made more reasonable arguments.
He claimed he was challenging the "process" and not the victory. Notice that he no longer argue that he won and he can prove it.

He is just double speaking like they all do.

emkz:
In one breath, he condemned the Office of First Lady for acquiring SUVs; in another breath, he defended Labour Party rep members for collecting SUVs as part of their work.

Peter Obi needs to take a stand and stick with it. He is too inconsistent within minutes!

If he says that Supreme Court did not take cognizance of public opinion and therefore eroded the confidence of the people, does this same opinion hold for the Supreme Court that gave him his mandate as governor under APGA?

Peter Obi is not a sincere politician and a sincere person. By casting aspersions on the Supreme Court judgement, he reveals the same Supreme Court erred in restoring him as governor. Peter Obi took us back in our political evolution, and we hope his likes tale the back seat.
The man is not different from the others. They accept court judgements only when it is in their favour.
PoliticsRe: Obi: Supreme Court Ignored Rigging, Forgery, That Isn't Part Of Our Constitution by firearcher: 3:25pm On Nov 06, 2023
I thought they say he never loses a court case. And those court cases he never lost were all in the "corrupt" Nigeria courts? And they could not stop him in spite of the corruption?

But now that he lost, that same courts are corrupt?

Maybe he never lost before simply because he had good cases. And he lost now because he did not. It could be that simple.

Hendrixky:
If not for tribalism and religion that is killing the masses in Nigeria

Tinubu and atiku are both not supposed to get up to 100 thousands vote

Especially that tinubu knowing fully well he was part of Buhari administration and he brought upon on us Buhari's administration
What we complained about and regretted in Buhari's tenure was exactly what we knew tinubu will repeat in his administration if he wins like parkinson disease, old age and sickness
But because Nigerians are too tribalistic the people of South west gave him their vote again.
Sane people are plenty in lagos, abuja and south south who are exposed and not tribalistic reason he didn't win those states

Most Nigerians don’t hate bad government they just feel mad at the government when he’s not from their religion or tribe
That is the reality of Nigeria

We are doomed
People who are quick to point out others tribalism are only projecting their own deep rooted tribalism because that's all they see.

All the 3 candidates have been a part of the system from the beginning of the 4th republic and for many years before then and none of them is a perfect saint.

Just like you, people are free to vote whoever they want using whatever yardstick they believe in. Its is called democracy
