So far, the Nigerian ladies are in control of their group and their fate. However, being Nigerians, we cannot completely rule out the calculator .So, here we go... NIGERIA: Need at least a draw against Republic of Ireland to be sure to qualify for the knockout stages, but they could yet be eliminated if they are beaten by the Irish. If Nigeria beat Ireland, they will top the group if Canada lose or draw. If both Nigeria and Canada win, top spot will be decided on group goal difference and goals scored between those two countries. At present, both have a goal difference of +1, and Nigeria are top having scored one more goal. - If both teams win by the same scoreline (so both 1-0), Nigeria will win the group - If both teams win by the same margin, but Canada score one more goal (so 2-1 and 1-0), it goes to head-to-head. As their group tie finished 0-0, placings would be decided on Fair Play points, and if level, random drawing of lots. - If Nigeria win by a higher-scoring one-goal margin (so 2-1 to Canada's 1-0), they top the group - If either team wins by a greater margin (so Nigeria 1-0, and Canada 2-0), that team wins the group (Canada in this example). If Nigeria lose and Canada win, Nigeria are through: 1. Canada, 2. Nigeria, 3. Australia, 4. Republic of Ireland If Nigeria lose and Australia draw, second place will be decided on group goal difference between those two countries. At present, Nigeria have a goal difference advantage of 1, which would automatically be wiped out. - If both teams lose by one goal and score the same number (so, 0-0 and 0-1 or 1-1 and 1-2 leaves Australia and Nigeria identical); Nigeria go through on head to head. - If Nigeria lose by one goal but score more than Australia (so, 0-0 Australia and 1-2 Nigeria), Nigeria are second on goals scored. - If Nigeria lose by one goal but Australia score more goals (so, 1-1 Australia and 0-1 Nigeria), Australia are second on goals scored. - If Nigeria lose by 2+ goals, they are out with Australia in second If Nigeria and Canada both lose, the two teams will be level on four points so second place will be decided on group goal difference and goals scored between those two countries. It works in reverse to both teams winning. - If both teams lose by the same scoreline (so both 1-0), Nigeria will finished second on goals scored - If both teams lose by the same margin, but Canada score one more goal (so 1-2 Canada and 0-1 Nigeria), it goes to head-to-head. As their group tie finished 0-0, placings would be decided on Fair Play points, and if level, random drawing of lots - If Nigeria lose by a higher-scoring one-goal margin (so 1-2 to Canada's 0-1), they finish second - If either team loses by a greater margin (so Nigeria 0-1, and Canada 0-2), the team that loses by the smaller margin finishes second. ![]() Nice one. We're moving... BTW, I didn't give the falcons much of a chance against Canada, the reigning Olympic champion, early this morning. I was proud of their draw. Even more happy for Chiamaka Nnadozie's penalty save. Up next is the Maltidas of Australia. A tough one though, but we'll try. If the falcons can come out of that group, it's already a successful world cup ![]() |

Nice deal from Chelsea. Fantastic player. Meanwhile, this transfer keeps revealing the foolly of England. McAllister, a South American world cup winner who is technically gifted, is worth 35m. An English energetic midfielder, with just one year on his contract, is worth 100m+ (Rice). A 30 year old English striker with just one year on his contract is worth 100m+. For all his talent, at 30 years and with one year on his contract, Kane should be worth around 60 to 70m. Mason Mount is said to be worth 75m with just a one year contract left. These things are incomprehensible. Liverpool fans should be grateful to Kloop for curing them of the English madness. Andy Carroll comes to mind... |
Who will patronize the business? Black Ghanians. Africans only know how to talk online, and create hastags. The white man knows Africans have no bite. If this happens in a white man's country, they'll simple call the government to shut it up of they boycott the business until it folds up. Action. But guess what, the people complaining are Africans without money to shop in that store. The moment an African has money, he thinks he's posh, tushed or civilized by shopping in the white man's store. You'll hear them say that the white man's own is original. He goes there speaking from his nose. If the store mistakenly hires a Ghanian who speaks with a Ghanian accent, the "big" African man will call him razz. With all his money, the day he finally goes to the white man's country to feel among, they'll treat him as trash. Then he'll start playing the victim, wondering why there's racism. He lacks the capacity to reflect. |
To an extent, we the people are part of the problem. We judge the success of leadership by projects. Tomorrow if Umahi runs for any position, instead of analysing his leadership capacity, we'd ask of the project he did. The politicians have adapted to our stupidity. They simply build projects for you. They ensure that it's a big project for two reasons: 1. They have to steal from it. 2. They want it to last the duration of their political career. Infrastructure is good. But we have to be smart about it. We shouldn't build things for building sake. There are better better ways to measure good governance-- not just infrastructure. |

Only Real Valadolid in Spain has made more substitutions than Inter in the top 5 league in Europe this season. Therein lies one of Inter's secret. They play to the maximum. I don't expect their energy to drop off. There substitutions usually goes like this: Correa and Lukaku for Dzeko and Lautaro. Then they change Dumfries and Dimarco. Then maybe Mikhitaryan for Calhanoglu. They use all substitutes. That may work again city because Pep hardly changes his team. Inter's game is based on energy especially because they are mostly veterans. City are still favourites to win though. |
Alex Fegurson once said that a player's prime is 24 to 28 years. Liverpool had most of their players in that age bracket in the past 4 years. That's the height of a player's physical ability. They rode the players with heavy metal football to success. They should have won more if not for the abnormality of having Pep's Man City around. The problem was they probably lacked foresight or they were naive. Most of the core players have past that age. They moved on only Mane instead of more. This season, they paid the price. I blame the technical department though. Now dey have to overhaul the squad. The front line have been invested in. The defense still have a good age. The issue now is the midfield. Sort that out, and Liverpool should be back next season. |
There are black players in Madrid and other clubs in Spain. Those black players don't get attacked like Vini. Of course, it has nothing to do with Vini. The point is that, Vini has that Aura of Ronaldo, Maradona, Ronaldinho, etc. He may not be as talented as those players, but he has that arrogance and over confidence of great players which is one thing fans adore in them. The problem here is that Spain cannot stand the fact that that new superstar after Messi, the face of Laliga, is a black boy. Hence, they want to tame his spirit. They want him to bow his head and play like an average humble player. But no. Vini was made for stardom: they have to leave with it. |

What Hilda is doing is quite impressive. I give it to her. Ray Kroc, the owner of McDonald's at the time, once said that his business isn't Burgers: he was in the business of real estate. Bringing it home, we have to understand what business people are into. Hilda isn't in the business of cooking: she's in the business of being a celebrity. Cooking is just a tool just like Big Brother and Acting movies. I don't know Hilda personally, but I know someone who knows her. First she did a plastic surgery to fix her body. Then she decides to get fame to show it off. My observation all these while is that pictures of her food isn't going viral; we're being treated to her hot pictures all these while. I've heard of her cooking prowess, and I must say she's damn good. But I don't think cooking is the business she has in mind. Until the Range Rovers and Mansions start rolling in in one year time, then young girls will become disillusioned that cooking is the next short cut. I wish her the strength to break the record. But I just hope she becomes a worthy role model to other girls. |
APC's case against Adeleke bothers on election fraud. I remember telling a friend that Adeleke will win up to the supreme court just so that the courts can have a precedent. The APC has a case against them by the PDP and LP. If the courts are saying fraud cannot be proven against the PDP, it will be interesting to see how the court will agree to the PDP that there was fraud by the APC. Me thinks APC sacrificed Osun for the bigger prize. I think this is the first supreme court case involving bvas |
ivolt:It's different when dealing with humans. Offering a part of your body, and by extension, your life, is to be done voluntarily. The UK laws forbids it to be purchased. The moment it was established that Ekweremadu paid for kidney, it becomes a crime. No matter who cheated who, or who was lying. It doesn't matter again. The whole point of the law is that, there are things money should not buy. A human organ is one of those things. If you want a kidney in the UK, find a charity donor. Then if after that, you decide to give them money, that should be seen as a free gesture from you too. Once it's established that it's a transaction, then you're a criminal. |
First, the multi national pays more, which is a plus. Beyond the money, I believe you will become a better human being by choosing the multi national. The job will demand the best from you; you'll be forced to develop yourself; if there's a new technology in your field, the company will most likely adopt it, giving you the opportunity to learn. Then there's the contact with high performance people which is good for growth. You develop discipline too. For example, you can't decide to miss work for no reason, you must show up everyday. Unlike the other one where you might skip work to go visit your side chick, without repercussions. But you can choose the lecturing job if the field of academia is your dream career. Then it becomes a good place to start. All depends on what you demand from yourself. Do you want a laid back system or a high level system? It depends on your ideals in life. |
I don't think England, Wales or Scotland can be referred to as Countries, as in a state. Is there an English, Welsh or Scottish passport or citizen? Is there an English, Welsh or Scottish Military? Is there an English, Welsh or Scottish embassy or high commission in any country? The point is that we can best refer to them as Nations. There's a difference between a nation and a country even though they can be similar in some cases. Just that, those nations agreed to operate independently in certain matters like football, for example. The Igbo or Yoruba nation can do the same too, as long as FIFA accepts and the country, Nigeria is OK with it. I just hope I'm not sounding too stupid sha... |
Yemike:We're saying the same thing. The poverty of the league, like you said, is why richer clubs like united could by good players from the league. We're saying that it's not easy to buy off players from smaller clubs now. |
arantess:While I don't support cheating, I like to be objective. Man united is spending money almost at the same rate as Mancity. (Antony alone is 100m). You can see what's going on at Chelsea (right from Abramovich era). Madrid spends a lot. Even the Barca that prides itself in there academy, over the last 10 years, they've spent crazy money. PSG is a mess with their sugar daddy. I agree totally that money rules football. But no top club in europe can complain of lack of funds. If they all have money, then what is the difference? Mancity had a sugar daddy pre-Pep, but it wasn't like this. They even spent more then. My point is that we cannot reduce this Mancity team to just money. Heck, they've never broken any transfer record once. Not even once. |
Yemike:It's not easy now. Remember Ferguson could do what Bayern does in the Bundlesliga. He could buy the best players from the league. He took Cantona, Ferdinand, Carrick from Spurs. He took Tevez, name them. But what do we have now, small clubs are capable of holding on to players now. Arsenal couldn't bully Brighton to collect Caicedo. Chelsea paid heavily for Fofona, etc. Man united can't even sign a player from Spurs. In Fegurson's era, Kane should have be at United by now. Don't also forget that the small clubs are signing big managers from Europe. Unai Emery, Loputgui, even Anceloti coached Everton. I don't think it's easier now. |
I think folks should cut Arsenal some slack. From the natural growth of Arsenal, the team was made to crack the top 4 this year. They started on fire, hence, talk of a title race. Yet they took it on regardless. The problem here isn't Arsenal. In the past, at this rate, Arsenal would have been champions. It's just that Pep's City took it to a different level. Let's not forget that Liverpool did 97 points and still finished 2nd to Man City. Did you see that? 97 points What all the clubs should do now is to join hands with the English FA to ensure mancity are guilty of those charges against them so the can be relegated. Or lunch a campaign to chase Pep out of England. At this rate, even next season no sure for other clubs. Jude Bellingham is coming... |

The same reason why we tend to fall asleep after food. In a lecture room or meeting, for example, people tend to sleep after food too. The point is that after eating, the body goes into a relaxing state to try and digest the food. The more food we eat, the weaker we become for that moment. At that point, our resistance becomes low. It's true for sex because sexual desires come when we are more relaxed. That's why fasting is a thing in religion. We are more alert to our values when we are not too heavy with food. |
DREAMHOMES6970:I am not an elite runner. The chances of me winning is almost zero. Elite runners finish the race in just over 2hrs. For me, if I have a good race, I'll finish in just under 5hrs. The marathon is an event where people push themselves to do the impossible just like climbing a mountain or skydiving. Winning isn't the motivation for most people. Except it's your profession. That's where you feed from. |
I will be running the race on Saturday (42km). I've been rehearsing until this moment, malaria wants to stop me. I'll run regardless. As for Sowore. I doubt if he can finish that race. Probably he'll come to take pictures. Running for that long isn't easy in any way. |
I'm not sure if the CBN policy is the right one. But, when our lawmakers are fighting you this hard, you just might be doing something right. Those guys don't fight for the interest of the country. |

![]() It's sad that southern Nigeria got to this. In every election cycle, candidates only put in efforts to win northern votes. It wasn't always like this. Buhari lost elections in the past even after winning the core north. Now we all accept that one must have the core north to win elections. Don't get me wrong, the northern votes are very important because all votes share equal value in an election. But Nigerians have unconsciously accepted that the north has the responsibility of deciding who our leader must be. The northern rulers are taking advantage of it too. The other day, all the candidates where in Kaduna promising heaven on earth to the northerners. They all take the southern votes for granted because they'll get them anyway... You must give it to these northerners. Even when they're not in power, they ensure they have a good control over whichever southerner becomes the president. |
Please guys let's leave the hype and do the actual voting. Na votes dem go count las las. Vote Tobi ![]() |
It happened to me too. In my case, the number was linked to both my GTB and Zenith bank. They kept buying 10k airtime from my GTB account until they cleared it. They bought only once from Zenith. Zenith bank has a maximum recharge of 3000 per day. I think that's fair. I don't know who buys airtime of 10k almost every hour and yet the useless bank keeps approving it. Even if you're calling the whole Nigeria. Common sense requires that when airtime purchase is excessive, such and account should be flagged. How much calls can one possibly make in a day? That experience has made me trust Zenith bank more in terms of security. I hardly use the GTB account these days. |
