pheliciti: Point of correction, the FG does not do any state a favour by repairing Federal Roads. It is a responsibility vested in the FG by the constitution and based on which the FG earns the highest chunk of revenue allocation. The roads in question are Federal roads which were repaired with the approval of the FG. One of such is the Badagry expressway project. Note that Lagos state bears the additional cost of the rail infrastructure and yet the whole construction work is less expensive than the Abuja Airport Road/ Umar Yar Adua Road Project. My fellow NLanders, BRF is not the first governor in Nigeria to do such a feat. Whats even all the hype about? James Ibori of Delta State did same back then in the days, in short, he started it in this political dispensation with the Warri-Benin road/bypass. Orji Uzor Kalu also did same when Thief Tony Anenih fixed N300B instead of fixing roads in the SE. Donald Duke of Cross River state also did same back then. This was when your beloved BRF was still a commissioner under Thief Bola Tinubu. All of these Governors were PDP governors, I hope you remembered that? In this current political climate, Godswill Akpabio has done same in Akwa Ibom state. He did not just fix only federal roads in Uyo, he rather fixed all roads linking all the neighbouring states to Akwa Ibom, which we all know are federal roads, yet nobody is shouting to high heavens Lest I forget, I am not a PDP member/Apologist nor a GEJ Psycophant. But, there is one thing I know, the truth should always be told no matter whose ox is gored. |
@Larride, I didn't say that. Even if thats what you thought I meant, what was BRF supposed to do with the monthly allocations? By the way what road in Lagos is not a federal road? Do you remember that Lagos was developed with our collective commonwealth? Almost all the infrastructure in Lagos were developed when Lagos was the Federal Capital. What most Lagos State Governors are doing is simply to rehabilitate/revamp/reconstruct or expand most of those dilapidating infrastructure. Now, take a look at this. Are those roads the most important roads in Las gidis? No. Are those roads more important than the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway that is in a state of disrepair? especially at the Apapa axis. I don't think so too. Are there no Lagos State roads that are worse than that? No. I don't also think so. Then why did BRF choose to leave state roads that obviously are in no better conditions and start constructing Federal roads, only to start husttling the FG for refunds. Thats why I said BRF knows things we don't in my earlier argument. |
@earthgreener, sorry earthdiggers, sorry I meant, gravegreenass or is it even gravediggers, did I insult you? why didn't you just deal with what I wrote, instead of sh*ting my monicker? All I said was simple. People praise BRF for performing and berate GEJ for underachievement. Yet the so-called high performance index of BRF is hinged on disbursements (exclusive of the monthly allocations) by GEJ. Let me tell you what you don't know.a 1. GEJ paying the N51B is a favour to BRF and LASG, because like every other state, Lagos draws a monthly allocation from the FG for which BRF can decide what to do with it. 2. Those roads constructed by LASG are not priority roads in the scale of preference of roads in the FG's list. There are roads in this country which serve better social and economic importance than those roads in Ikeja. 3. With or without the contributiom of Lagos, Nigeria would survive very well and still develop economically at the same pace or even faster. 4. BRF who is equivocally vocal knows all of the above and many more things you and I do not know, but yet kept quiet even as the FG is yet to pay up the N51B. Unfortunately, his commissoner for works who doesn't even know how people gain admittance into Aso Rock to see Mr. Presidents sits in an A/Ced car in the traffic on 3rd Mainland bridge and begin to spew trash from his mouth after getting high on amala/ewedu/gbegiri/kpomo combination on the Island. 5. You should know better than to call people you do not know names on a public forum because you are tucked up in an office using up megabytes that have been for by somebody. 6. I rest my case. 7. Thank you, thank you, thank you and God bless. Amen. |
BRF constructs roads in Lagos State. GEJ pays the bills. Nairalanders (sorry, BRF apologists on NL) insults and curses GEJ for not performing and praises BRF to high heavens. My people, whatever happened to "He who pays the piper dictates the tune". My people, you see its all a vicious cycle. The FG is working whether you like it or not, whether you know it or not, there are a lot of things going on under the scene which you may obviously not be aware of. So please, when you talk, be careful, because you actually do not know what percentage is being paid for by different parties. |
This na Barcelona FC against Nigeria o. Ha! FIFA this is not fair o. |

My mum who is over 60, has her best friend's name tattooed on her left arm, running from the side where the elbow folds in through to the point where the palms opens up. She did this in remembrance of her best friend she lost during the civil war. Now, how does that look or sound like irresponsibility. I hate tattoos and piercings, but I've come to realise that both of them are part and parcel of many traditional African cultures and has actually got nothing to do with being responsible or not. |
@OP, SHUT UP! Did you do the right thing? So if Amaechi is bad, wicked, corrupt and heartless; Does that mean that you should compound the problem bu being unruly, defiant, confrontational to authority and delusional on self righteousness and exhaltation? Its always bad followers that produce bad leaders, because the leader (Amaechi) in this case was once a bad citizen like you, who takes pleasure in breaking rules and undermining constituted authorities with flagrant disregard for laws, only to shout foul when the law/powers that be doesn't favour you. (ol boy! I try o. See omo boy just dey blow grammer like Igodo m' Igodo). Once again, @OP, SHUT UP YOUR MOUTH and NEXT TIME, OBEY TRAFFIC RULES/LAWS. I rest my case. |
Late Azazi and Yakowa had theirs. The day for the VIPs is coming. Make I go keep my mourning clothes properly for that day. |
This is a new one on me. Driving an auto-transmission car with both feet? Methinks the left leg is forbidden from crossing over to the right hand side of the steering column. However you guys do that (driving an auto with both legs), I never thought it possible. Well, we learn everyday. Make I go look for my enemy car take try am. I hope I won't end up at Igbobi. Mu he he! mu he he he!! mu he he he he!!! |
Drdaps: ABEOKUTA – Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has predicted an end for the dreaded Boko Haram sect, saying, Nigeria will soon enjoy peace and tranquility. These guys should stop predicting and praying and start taking actions. America did not deal with Alqaeda by praying and predicting. Can't these guys just take a clue? Drdaps: Obasanjo also expressed optimism that Nigeria would be ranked among the greatest countries of the world in the nearest future. That's the same ol' line they have been churning since the day I was born. Someone should please ask these guys "when is the future?". I'm tired of such lines. Haba ja ma haaa!!!! Drdaps: While speaking on the alleged mismanagement the country’s resources, Obasanjo said, “God has been extra generous to Nigeria, many nations of the world are not as richly endowed as the country.’’No wonder he wasted EIGHT good years of our resources and national life. Look at who is talking of management and mismanagement? Haba!!! even as we mumu reach keep quiet, make una pity us small na. See OBJ dey rub sh1t for our face ooo!!!!! |
When I first started drive, I used to take off my shoes, thinking that they may impede my control on the pedals. But, now I know better and wiser. It didn't actually take me long to start driving with my shoes on & they have stayed on ever since the second month I started driving. Now, it even seems odd and awkward when I see people driving without shoes. |
Can someone please link me up with this guy? I urgently need to place an order. Mu he he! Mu he he!! Mu he he!!! I also need the VIN to check if it is a lemon, green, accidented, flooded or stolen car. Please, help its urgent. |
I'm not a sexist, but my guess is 80-90% of people that use easy-to-remember & easily hackable pins are women of which 60-70% are Nigerian women. No source, no stats, no observation. Just thinking aloud. Mu he he! mu he he!! mu he he!!! |
Me, I do it a lot & I've been doing it a long time. 1. Refuses my mom's food for days. Lived off the Mango, cashew, guava, orange & pawpaw trees in our backyard. It worked magic. After the fourth day she called me, we discussed & resolved the issue. My mom no dey send person o, but this time, she really felt it. Each them I'm really upset with her I did it & she never take it for granted. Just with me o & not with the other sibblings. 2. I did it with my guardian's wife back then when she insulted me over food related issues & after about 3 days, she came begging and apologising with the husband and never ever insulted me again until I left their house. 3. Now that I'm married, I've done it like a couple of times. My wife will initially form "NO SENDING", but as soon as she realizes that I'm willing to go on for ever like that, she gets of her high horse & begin to look for a common grounds for us to settle. Mind you, I was properly brought up by my mom, so I cook very well and am also well grounded on the execution of household chores. For me, its actually like an #occuppy... kinda thing. I'll protest by refusing food until you come to terms that there is a very serious problem to be sorted first. I've also realised that each time I solve problems like this, they never ever repeat themselves again. |
I could have corroborated ur story with pictures from the Abuja-Lokoja Road, but sorry I gues I was too busy enjoying the ride than to take snapshots. What I'm saying in essence is that federal roads are gradually getting better no matter how slow it is going. The good thing is that there is at least progress in the right direction. If and only if OBJ did not waste those 8 years in the hands of Tony Annenih, I believe new roads would have even been constructed. This is a plus to GEJ. ACHIEVEMENTS OF GEJ I CAN FINGER 1. Roads are getting better 2. Electricity is improving, though staggered 3. No ASUU strikes 4. Still counting... 5. I'ld be back for me uptades. Whether you agree or not, its the truth. |
@ Siena, you deserve it over & over again. CONGRATS! Bro. @ Ikenna (Moderator), don't just declare him winner. please, discuss with Seun to see the posibility of at least awarding him a certificate to commemorate his winning. You can never tell, it might help improve his career/business profile, for which Nairaland may be the ultimate benefactor in the long run. Just my 10 Cents anyway. |
Lest I forget, CONGRATULATIONS! to the men who has chosen to lay down their lives for a country, whose leaders and citizens alike do not and will never ever appreciate their sacrifice. I wish you all (Graduands of the Police College) luck as you exhibit your bravado, even when you are not properly equipped & remunerated to face dare devils (armed robbers, terrorists, kidnappers, etc). May the good Lord be your shield and your buckler, may He protect you from all dangers as you serve humanity. My soul & heart is with you. CONGRATS! |
@Fellis, You tell us. Since you know why "This story might have been made up to cover up the murder of an innocent man." (Since you were there at the crime scene); "Why would a middle aged man be trying to snatch a car?" (as if its children, young boys or old men that snatch cars) "And how convenient is it that the other witnesses escaped?" (as if you were part of those that escaped). Please, do not be offended as I am just being curious here (I hope you get my sarcasm?). |

Don't blame it on the journalist please. The criminal is just trying to downplay what he got from the 36M so as to make it look as if its because of poverty he did what he was doing in order to curry public sympathy. If I happen to lay my sight or hands on any kidnapper, perceived or real. I would be the first to throw a stone, supply tyre, petrol and matches. Lest I forget, if any one of you happens to come accross a scene where a kidnapper is caught, please don't forget to PM me as I have already volunteered myself to supply all the tyres, petrol and matches required as well as pour the petrol and light the matches and stand on guard to make sure no one puts out the fire till it burns down completely and wait for those armed robbers, ritualists and kidnappers on NL pretending to be human rights activists to come out, then I'll shift the BBQ party to them. You may not understand my grouse, so please don't quote me if you want to comment. I dey vex. I mean as in SERIOUSLY DEY VEX. |

Good riddance to bad rubbish. |
My fellow Nigerians! What do we really want? 1. Them catch robbers take them go court, Judge sentence them to death. Governor sign the death warrant, we shout say e no good, make noise, argue & quarrel till the Governor convert am to pardon. 2. Them catch robbers carry give Police, after a week these robbers are out on bail, continuing from they stopped & we go begin shout say Police don take bribe release them. 3. JTF engage Kidnappers in a shoot-out and killed a good number of the kidnappers. The next thing everybody begin shout: What kind of shoot-out? are they sure its kidnappers? is JTF telling the truth? bla bla bla & bla bla ... 4. Them catch robbers koro koro for area wey the robbers don the terrorise for sometime now, put tyre, put petrol, light matches. We go begin shout, its barbaric, inhuman, jungle justice, so archaic & all the other bla blas... What do we really want? I'm sick and tired of these noise. So, how are we supposed to deal with dangerous criminals that will not hesitate to kill, maim & rapee without provocation. Which way my people? |
@ OP. Nobody, not even the so-called Politicians wishes to hide away from the masses, the truth remains that you will not understand how busy these people can get as soon as they get into these offices, until when you work with them or fill in one of those offices. Secondly, if you talk more closely with the VC, you would have notice that there would have been like a handful of people that wants him out of that office by all means and as such, he has to protect himself by mostly avoiding the public or else he is a dead man walking. |

taigee: God is a God of order.Take a second look at the bolded. God instructed specifically on what one's tithe should be. God did not ask them to bring money into the chambers even though at that time, money (denaris, shekels, etc) were being used as means of exchange. Now, let me ask you this. Would your Pastor (so-called Priest) accept agricultural products as your tithe? I don't think so. If you are in doubt, ask Joagbaje. I rest my case. |
Fhemmmy: Malachi 3:10 ESV: Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need - Unlike now, the Church used to take care of a lot of things and the money is needed for them all.I know you know so much about cars, but I think tithe is off-limits for you. Now, please answer these questions objectively to get a true idea of my own school of thought. 1. The Malachi you quoted, was it before Christ's coming or after His coming? 2. When did Christianity began? Was it before Christ or after Christ? 3. What did the New Testament say about the laws now written in the heart of men? 4. Show me in the New Testament where tithing was attached to a blessing? 5. From Malachi, Please describe the store house of the Lord (quote relevant New Testament verses if any to back up your argument). 6. What about the other laws (Drink offering, Burnt Offering, Dedication of the first born male to the Lord, etc) that were given at the time the law of tithing was given, are you still observing them? 7. What did Christ himself say about giving? Did he direct Christians to give to a particular person(s) or group? 8. By the way, What is Christianity? Is it bound by Laws or by Grace? 9. What is the utmost aim of Christianity? is it to receive earthly blessings or to make heaven in the end? Until you answer these questions with relevant bible quotations (New Testament), you may just be walking with the Anti-Christs straight to hell with your bible in your hands and your eyes wide open. Don't let anybody deceive you with their talks, read the bible its always there for you. |
