PoliticsRe: What Can Be Done To Curb Corruption In Nigeria? by FlyboyZee: 7:10pm On Jan 15, 2013
The penalty for Corruption should be STONING TO DEATH OF THE CORRUPT OFFICIAL BY ALL THOSE WHO WERE DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY AFFECTED BY HIS/HER CORRUPT PRACTICES AND HIS/HER BODY DONATED TO THE NEAREST TEACHING HOSPITAL AS CARDAVER FOR MEDICAL STUDENTS.
PoliticsRe: Comptroller General Of Immigration Service Sacked by FlyboyZee: 7:08pm On Jan 15, 2013
She was not sacked. If in doubt, please read the OP again.
She was asked to proceed on her accummulated and pre-terminal leave.
Just in case you don't know, all public officers, civil servants inclusive are to proceed on a terminal leave at the end of their career or appointment. This is a regular civil service procedure. Why are you guys spreading false information, polticising and overheating every action the Government takes. This is not fair o!

PS: Do you know how many public officers have gone for their terminal leaves so far this January?

FamilyRe: What Has Parenthood Changed About You? by FlyboyZee: 2:50pm On Jan 15, 2013
I love children from the onset and even hi-fived children I see on the kerb walking home from school, while extending thumbs-up to others. I had no qualms hugging biscuit-eating, chocolate-nibbling or fanta-drinking children while wearing my best and most expensive suit on my chrismas shirt. You know what I mean!

So when my son arrived, it didn't change much for me since I was already used to playing with kids in the airports, bus stops, motor parks, schools, churches, markets, malls, stores, mama puts or where ever I meet them. I even allow some to donkey-ride me with no qualms. But, I noticed that I have become less quarrelsome and domineering. I now take everything je je le, no matter what happens in the house, I don't shout again. I just hold my wife's hand and drag her into our bedroom jocularly and then tell her how I feel. If na before, I no care whether na inside market, I go just raise my voice hala her like agbero wey dey load motor for park. I don't want my children growing up to become bullies and getting rude.

In all, I think becoming a father has made me more tolerant, patient and even more friendly with a new outlook to life that my time don pass and I have to prepare the young ones for their own time.

HealthRe: Best Way To Carry A Baby Is On Your Back? by FlyboyZee: 10:32pm On Jan 14, 2013
My wife who is about 6ft tall rejected my offer to buy a pram for her when our son was born. Her reasons being that studies have shown that it can lead to waist and back pains and make tall people like her hunched and tilting forward. I tried as best I can to persuade her to no avail, so I let the issue rest. I think nature has its own way of helping us find the most safe and comfortable ways of living, yet we often choose to do otherwise.

FamilyRe: Names Given To Children In Nigeria Lately by FlyboyZee: 9:38pm On Jan 14, 2013
I have met people who answer phrases like: "Praise Wonder"

And funny names like:
Miracle,
Forward,
Marine,
ThankGod Chrismas,
New Year,
Germany.

Names like Chelsea, Brandy, Liverpool, London, America, Chalton, etc are mostly borne by more elderly people probably in their fifties and older. Maybe at that time they were born, those were the names in vogue. Most folks who give their wards this very funny names like: Success, Favour, Destiny, Precious, Wealth, Miracle, Purity, etc are usually influenced by their Pastors. If you do a recall, you'll notice that most people acquired these names in the 2000 after Bishop David Oyedepo and his ilks started preaching about how your name affects your life. I can remember, almost every babe then started answering Favour, Blessing, Success, etc and started denouncing names like Linda, Endurance, etc. Now the emphasis has shifted from word names to phrase and clause names. Who say Pastors no dey try?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: HR Experiences For The Benefit of Jobseekers by FlyboyZee: 8:20pm On Jan 14, 2013
@ all those advocating for online advert placements I feel your pains too, but I think you are missing the point here. Labour laws in the country require that you advertise in a national daily, especially if it is a government agency. If like send town criers to all the cities, town, villages and hamlets in the country and fail to advertise in a national daily, it would be declared null and void and the process councilled, for which the process would have to start all over again. Its a constitutional thing, the laws that be are yet to recognize new (online) media. Nobody like to throway that kind money na. haba!

1. The ability to see the future, so that I can tell when, where and how BH is going to attavk next, so that they can be caught in the act and stopped & also what the world economy would be like, so that I can make Otedola and Dangote look like beggars at Osodi Oke.

2. The ability to disappear and re-appear whereever I want so that I can give all those armed robbers, kidnappers, smugglers, etc a run for their money and also defuse every BH bomb before it kaBOOOoommss!!!

3. The ability to read minds, so that I can stop all those evil plots and encourage discerning minds to greatness.

4. The ability to control time, so that I can fastforward to the future, rewind the past and pause the present in order to go back and fix things that should have been fixed, stop things that shouldn't be happening now and put things in the future so that the world would be greatful for even if I died an aeon ago.
FoodRe: He Is Addicted To Coke!!!! by FlyboyZee: 3:37pm On Jan 14, 2013
Its that easy.

9 years on and still counting, I have neither tasted coke nor sugar. I had to cure my addiction problem in 2003 when I become jittery & fidgetty at around 10am in the morning if I had not taken at least a bottle of coke at that time. If I taste any food with sugar or drink any soft drink, na toilet I go sleep throughout that day, because the stooling no go end till in 3 days time.

Encourage yourself, strong your mind and enjoy a sugar-free life.
Nairaland General"... And This Made Front Page?" by FlyboyZee(op): 12:22pm On Jan 14, 2013
I actually don't know the section to start this thread in, but I do hope that the moderator would move it to the appropriate section so as to pass on the message. Thank you.

It has become somewhat irksome to read certain comments on a thread. Comments such as "... and this made front page?", "well, everything and anything makes FP these days", "What is this doing on FP?" and so on are really not in good taste.
In as much as this forum permits freedom of speech and expression, the onus lies on us as matured people and vibrant youths to restrain ourselves and make our comments with decorum.

If Oluwaseun Osewa permits you to post everything and anything, I see no reason why what makes FP should be your problem. We live in a diverse world and NL, which is a microcoism of Nigeria itself is diverse in every and any way. Topics that do not interest you might just be what someone else has been waiting for all this while. It may also surprise Nairalanders, that people who make such comments on other people's threads are interested in more bizarre and mundane things that may not make sense to the generality of Nairalanders. More over, we have a popular saying that "One man's meat is another man's poison"; in essence, what you feel should make FP could be thrash to a lot of people and vice versa. There are times I come on, to the forum but couldn't find threads that interest me, I just browse through the topics and PASS. I do this almost every hour until I find something that interests me or even start a thread to see how it goes.

It is very simple, if a thread does not interest you, just PASS, instead of making comments like a denigrade.

Please, to keep the forum educative, interesting, expressive and expansive (as in covering various areas of life), I do plead and suggest that Nairalanders should rather PASS on topics they are not interested in, instead of making such childish and irrelevant comments.

Whats the big deal about her grammer?

I have heard a lot of Yoruba profs speak even more awful english than the Dame.
Secondly, the learning and teaching of science does not require you to be the most potent and prolific english speaker. Most science courses until recently make do with a WAEC PASS grade in English Language. For the records, I served in a tertiary institition In Northern Nigeria and keot on wondering what criteria was used for the recruitment of lecturers since most of them could barely speak one simple correct sentence.

Make una free the woman jare, No be she be the most educated person in Naija wey speak the worst english.
PoliticsRe: What Does Buhari Intend To Do With Presidential Power? by FlyboyZee: 1:48pm On Jan 08, 2013
@OsunOriginal, you lied again.

In the 90s we had the highest explosion of kerosene lamps in Nigeria, because neither IBB nor Abacha norr even Abdusalam cared a hoot about us.

@OsunOriginal, you are a very selfish and self centred person. I have read every post in this thread and nobody complained of worst electricity supply but you. Leave wherever you are and do a little study on power supply improvement and you will realise that its only you that is still living in the 90s Nigeria, when every other person has moved on. I do not enjoy 24 hours electricity, but I still acknowledge that supplies has improved nationwide. Since you are that selfish, let me give you a clue. Your power problem could be from your local power station or illegal and improper connections done by consumers. I'm very sure to high degree that your transformer, which I guess is overloaded is even the culprit.
PoliticsRe: What Does Buhari Intend To Do With Presidential Power? by FlyboyZee: 8:44am On Jan 08, 2013
@OsunOriginal, you lied.

There is absolutely nobody living in Nigeria that would not acknowledge the improvement in power supply accross the nation. If you want to hate, please find a genuine reason not power supply.

@GMB apologists, this is not a military government where everything and anything is done by brutal force. This is a democracy, you habe to persuade, appease, appeal, and negotiate with people to get your way. For instance, OBJ came to power and further messed everything up with his military bravadoism, alacrity and brutalism. It is now we are begining a democracy. I keep maintaining that OBJ only continued military rule, because what we had under OBJ was really not a democracy. All those supporting GMB should know that we are done with military rule and wouldn't want the return of BRUTALITY!

Spent his earnings on women, culminating into 4 wives and many children, whom I'm sure he never took care of. Now he wants us to have pity on him as if his problems we caused by the Government or economic hardship in the country. His he trying to tell is that he was going to serve KSA even of he waa very old and senile? How do peeps reason self?

Those blaming GEJ, BRF and the Government for anything and everything should know that, their destiny lie in their hands. Even in the so-called advanced countries and best economies, things are not as easy as imagined.
FamilyRe: Traditional, Church Or Registry: The Right Date For Marriage Anniversary? by FlyboyZee: 2:37pm On Jan 06, 2013
First and foremost, Church Marriage ceremony (Wedding) as we have it today is a conventional British (English) traditional marriage ceremony. The Romans that led on the Church movement still have their own traditional marriage as it has always been

Even Christ, the Founder of Christianity never made mention of Church wedding or partook in any such ceremony. The only marriage ceremony he attended was a traditional Jewish marriage ceremony in which, he (Christ) himself, the High Priest and other religious leaders of the time were invited guests and not officiating ministers. I wonder when, where and how marriage ceremonies became a christian doctrine up to the extent that Pastors that should be more knowledgeable are even telling the sheeple that it is a sin and against the will of God if one is not wedded in Church. Christ even complained when they tried to make him take active part in the ceremony other than that of being a guest. I wonder who introduced the concept that a marriage has to be blessed by the man of God in the pressence of God. em! ehm! Do I smell a false doctrine somewhere? I'm waiting for the Pastors in the house to come back from church and back their arguments with relevant bible passages. Joagbaje, Pastor Kun, Goshen, etc... where are you guys?

This confussion set by the Church has really made it difficult for one to really have a pristine wedding or marriage anniversary. What do you think guys?

PoliticsRe: FG Owes Lagos N51Billion For Roads Constructed & Certified by FlyboyZee: 9:45pm On Jan 03, 2013
pheliciti: I actually do not understand the point. Are you suggesting that we should be uniform in underdevelopment? It would be a thing of joy if all parts of the country can develop uniformly. However, the uneven development and fostering of competition is one of the core features of a federalism, each unit developing at its own pace. I still believe more states should try and relieve the FG of local responsibility. The immediate areas of concern would be with respect to roads, housing etc
I actually don't get your point too. Where were you when IBB and his cohorts foisted the uniform underdevelopment situation on us by introducing a National sharing formula (the concept of the National Cake). My bother, in a true federal system, the states generate revenue and pay taxes to the Central government, but, in Nigeria, The Federal Government generates the revenue and then shares it among the states. Wait a minute, are we practicing REVERSE FEDERALISM?

slim fit :
Young man let me correct you Lagos is the only place most investors want to come to don't try to deceive yourself ma, and you talk about power Tinubu brought the first independent power plant to Nigeria so don't even mention that one who want to live next to Boko Aram in abuja don't brain wash yourself Tinubu and Fashola provided a convinent environment for the apart from the facilities that was there that has decayed get it right.
I can bet my January wages that you are clueless when it comes to place of choice as per investment in Nigeria. Do not be surprised if your so-called investors would actually prefer to invest in Rivers, Cross Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Abia and Anambra states than your Lagos.

Moreover, why is everyone attacking GEJ over everything and anything? Can you please take a look at OBJ's 8 wasted years in which rather than to develop Lagos in which he is a major beneficiary, he chose to lock horns with Thief Bola Tinubu and his ilks over political dominance thereby leading to a total abandonment of decaying facilities/infrastructure. It was Tinubu who put up signs (that read "This is a Federal Government Road"wink everywhere in Lagos in the heat of his face-off with OBJ and his goons, Remember that OBJ also refused to pay LASG their allocation for a very long time, until Yar'Adua came to the rescue.

Please, always start you discussions by making references and analogies to past regimes and events.
PoliticsRe: FG Owes Lagos N51Billion For Roads Constructed & Certified by FlyboyZee: 8:44pm On Jan 03, 2013
pheliciti: Point of correction, the FG does not do any state a favour by repairing Federal Roads. It is a responsibility vested in the FG by the constitution and based on which the FG earns the highest chunk of revenue allocation. The roads in question are Federal roads which were repaired with the approval of the FG. One of such is the Badagry expressway project. Note that Lagos state bears the additional cost of the rail infrastructure and yet the whole construction work is less expensive than the Abuja Airport Road/ Umar Yar Adua Road Project.
The lack of FG commitment to local projects like road construction is good premise for the argument that FG should let go of such responsibilities and a commensurate share of its revenue allocation and allow the states handle it. Rgds
I keep asking myself why do Lagosians always think like this? Is it only in Lagos (Ikeja precisely) that the roads are bad? Most federal roads in major cities accross the country are about the same thing. BAD. I'm not in support of this, but its high time we stand and look people in their faces and tell them to "STFU, what the hell are you saying?". Mind you, BRF himself is not saying anything about it, like I said earlier, he obviously know a lot of things we do not know about.

My brother, why is it then that BRF with all the clues in the world is now husttling clueless GEJ to pay up for roads he has constructed. Do clueless people pay debts?
