Tadadobe: They create theirs as diaries. I used to secretly read some. I read some where the women were complaining of being ghosted by white guys after meeting. Lol Interesting. But even if such exists, it is not rampant like the Nigerian men threads littered all over Nairaland complaining about rejection yada yada. |

Geminita: Folake4u
Yeah, you are right. Cooking should not be used as a prerequisite for wife material yadayada.
Some people don't have a problem with it. I don't have a problem with cooking in a relationship because I am a picky eater and I hardly eat out. It becomes a problem if you turn it into your birthright . Like calling me to come over and cook every time ( I hope you get what I am saying)
My ex never stressed me about cooking. He even preferred buying us food. The times I cooked in the three years relationship were because I wanted to cook.
I am not a badass cook and he never complained or rejected the food. He ate the food with so much joy .
There was a day I fried egg and added excess salt (I don't know how it happened). He only said, "Odunayo, shey na because you no dey chop egg na why you wan kill me with salt". And that's it. He ate his egg in peace.
So many kitchen errors and he never said anything to belittle me or so.
Cooking in a relationship should not be a big issue. It is a matter of whether you like it or not.
It's just that some guys dey do too much
Cooking should not be used as a prerequisite for wife material yadayada. My darling, if it's by that one ehn, let me just remain single abeg. I once saw a thread on Twitter where a guy was saying he'd want his wife to be cooking fresh meals daily. I just shouted "Subhanallah!". 😂😂😂 Yeah. I get your point sha. It's everyone's personal decision if they'd cook (or not) in their relationships but not the one that you'd now enforce it. Hian. As for me, I like dates/ hangouts, take outs, let's try different restaurants and the likes or he'd cook. I even have a problem with people that see Cooking as a gender specific role. Heck! I wasn't born with onions round my neck and knife in my hands. Cooking is a skill. A basic survival skill that anyone should embrace, just like swimming or cycling. Infact, the people who are considered best Chefs in the world are Men. Surprisingly not Women!!! There was a day I fried egg and added excess salt (I don't know how it happened). He only said, "Odunayo, shey na because you no dey chop egg na why you wan kill me with salt". And that's it. He ate his egg in peace.
So many kitchen errors and he never said anything to belittle me or so. This is so funny but cute.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 He did well by eating his eggs in PEACE!! As he should. There are Men that marry women that can't cook even noodles and Heaven did not fall. Las las, they employed a Cook or ate the food their wives made in peace. It didn't diminish the love they have for their spouse. Everybody go dey alright sha, las las. PS: You can check the list of Best Chef in the world. It is men that are dominating the field.

We Nigerians are just loud about everything. One bozo will enter with Tier 2 or Care Work visa and two weeks later we'll start seeing winter coat videos everywhere on Tiktok and Twitter about how dating and relationships don't work and bills are plenty. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 You know them really. |

Jashub: What killed my feelings for women actually started when I listened to guys like FreshandFit, Kevin Samuel and Andrew Tate.
Their views and opinions really made me see into the deception of women and the motives behind why women deserve less than what they get . Your feelings died for women because of Kevin Samuels and Andrew Tate? Kevin Samuels and Andrew Tate that were still secretly following women after they've convinced gullible men like you. 😂😂😂😂 I'm sorry. How old are you? |

One camera and a few clothes, and they are good to go.
I hear some are even shot with camera phones. Wow. That's crazy oh. Those movies would be nonsense as usual. Lmao with camera phones?? 😂😂😂 And e nor go be better phone oh. The quality go be like say them pour oil for the phone camera lens. |

If you said this on Twitter, I can already picture hoe they'll be dragging you for being against "our own" or call you an hater.
As for the cancel culture topic, I'll see.
I may write something on it in my diary. Amin! Lmaooo. Nor be today them dey drag me for Twitter streets. I always maintain my I said what I said stance. 😂😂😂😂 Nigerians are funny to be honest. They'd tag you a hater when you tell them the truth without any iota of emotions. Thank you baby girl. |
TV/Movies › Re: Gangs Of Lagos: Ratings And Review by folake4u: 2:40pm On Apr 10, 2023 |
Angelfrost: This is true... That's life, but most of the time it pays off big for them.
Nigerians just never take the time to do proper preparations. Everything is always a rush for us.
Look at the other terrible part of Nollywood! The one we call "Asaba Movies"! Where you have actors filming up to 4 movies in a week! Like WTF!!! Yes. It usually pays off for them in the long run. One interesting way I rate their movies is by going to the Wikipedia page and check how much money they invested in the movie and also see if their profits matched their investments. I also check how well the movies faired in the Box Office in Asia, America and Europe. EVERYTHING is rush for us. It is very annoying. They want to maximize quick profits at the expense of quality. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣you say?? 4 movies in a week? Are you serious right now? That's interesting. |

Persephone1: Thank God I didn't see Chief Daddy , my big sis saved me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 . I think that's one movie it's review gained popularity. It was widely trashed.
Honestly I love those their lekki and third mainland movies best. I saw "a simple lie" yesterday and I love it. Very simple movie with lots of laughs 😂 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 See ehn. I was pained oh cos one of my friends hyped the movie that time and we all went to watch it at the cinema. That day sef ehn, cinema full and tickets were sold out quickly. After the movie ended, I was so angry and told her never to pick movie for us to watch again. I can never forget that day. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Na God just save you that day. Wallahi. 😆😆 You see!! I miss the days of those Iroko TV and Ibaka TV. The movies were enjoyable and plot nice as well. |
TV/Movies › Re: Gangs Of Lagos: Ratings And Review by folake4u: 2:31pm On Apr 10, 2023 |
Angelfrost: Shanty town started quite well but lost their way after the first episode! The story/plot was just too thin to keep up!
They need to quit rushing their script writing! It always shows in the quality and outcome of their movies!
Movies like Black Panther and Lord of the rings, the writing can take as long as 10 years to complete... Even after, editing and improving can take further 6 months to 2 years before they begin filming!
Even casting can take them years too! I see. But asides them rushing their script writing, they also need to hire qualified script writers. For real. Yes, that is true about Hollywood movies. Even though they take up to 10years to complete their movie, it doesn't mean the movie will be a huge success though. It could either be a huge flop or success. |

Magnoliaa: Well, it is a dicey subject to me, sha.
A very dicey subject with its pros and cons and gray areas.
But for now, as at now, without mincing words and dancing around, Toyin Abraham is someone that deserves legit canceling so long as she doesn't right her actions publicly, in my books. Hmm. For the fact that you said it's a dicey subject, it has spiked my curiosity. Let me know about the pros and cons either in your diary entry or the Pinkpill thread. I'd love to read your opinion on it. Lmao. As long as Nigerian youths live, Toyin Abraham is on the wrong side of history. |

Persephone1: I watched it. I was reluctant at first but I ended up watching. Up till now, I don't know how to rate the movie. I just weak. Too much acting everywhere. Actors that naturally flow in movies appeared to be aware that someone is shooting them.
I don't know, maybe because they know it ought to be action movie, all of them were just overacting, stressing words , their mouths and muscles unnecessarily. I don't just understand. Ah Perse. 🤣🤣🤣 After seeing "Chief Daddy" with its star studded cast, I learnt my lesson the bitter way. I understand you dear. You go just weak for the movie plot. Their action movies are wackyyyyy. They should just stick to their Lekki houses and Third Mainland movies scene instead. |
TV/Movies › Re: Gangs Of Lagos: Ratings And Review by folake4u: 2:11pm On Apr 10, 2023 |
Magnoliaa: Seeee.
I don't know why they do that.
Like, don't they realise it is counter-productive?
It is just like you cooking and using ALL the spices, because of course, they are sweet and they give food distinctive tastes individually, but nor be to come pour everything inside because you want a rich taste. Apt!!!!!!! Too many ingredients itself spoil the meal and instead of the food to become savoury, it gives a slappy taste. As for the counter-productivity? I think they should stop hiring cheap creative writers but it's Nollywood, they do not want to pay money for quality script writers and that's why they keep churning out stupid movies. |
TV/Movies › Re: Gangs Of Lagos: Ratings And Review by folake4u: 2:04pm On Apr 10, 2023 |
Magnoliaa: LMAO.
Even you?
Nahhhh, I am convinced there is something really wrong with "Nigerians" 'cause the trend is always the same.
The very first time these movies come out, oh my God, they'd literally have a platform in the stars. Only for a few days to pass before you'll now start seeing legit criticism.
Me I was not even going to watch it because of Toyin Abraham already, but now that you and Folake don't rate it, nothing spoil. 😄
To imagine one girl was calling people "airheads" and saying they'd be missing out/hurting themselves over their decisions not to watch, lmao. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣This Mango sef. But for real, I think it's high time Nigerians embrace this Cancel Culture. Don't you think? |
