School feeding has been shown to increase rates of school enrollment in countries where is is practiced. Providing protein to a growing child will reduce the feeding burden on poor parents. I was a beneficiary of school feeding in the late 70s. Cannot forget the refreshing milk and eggs and biscuits we used to receive every break time. Many parents in Nigeria cannot afford it. So feed the kids, increase school enrollment and you have a more sustainable path to poverty eradication.

I would rather have kids given an egg a day than having millions being paid for prayers to win elections as was the case the last time around.

do you think an egg meal will be a big deal to kids who are well fed? the govt is complaining of scarce resources, that is we need to be judicious in out policies now. where I come from, egg or food have nothing to do with sch attendance, u heard what happened in Kaduna? once those kids finish eating,they pick their bag and leave school, so who is fooling who?
if school feeding to relieve parents is such a big deal in d 70's, and it is still a big deal today, can we say we v grown n better than yesteryears?

This is where I hate our media houses. Are we saying not a single one of them can conduct a successful investigative/undercover operation to reveal what was submitted for verification to CCB.

Only Sahara Reporters are trying when it comes to investigative journalism but they also have disappointed on this one.

I am not defending the press I really wish for more investigative journalism, but even is investigations were made and assets discovered, the press can't just publish it except through leakage and even that can be discredited as a rumor by oppositions.

You want my opinion.....I don't think that Government should be giving people loans and grants right now....because we cannot afford it.

Sorry....I know people would hate me, and I have already been shouted at for saying this....but right now....Nigeria cannot afford mass welfare projects with oil prices at $50 per barrel.....when we were having issues with such projects at over $100 per barrel.

(And I have even more bad news.....oil is going to keep going down. The $100 barrel era is over.).

For me, there is only one way out of this. Telling Nigerians the honest truth....we do not have enough money right now....and we need to spend money on becoming a self sufficient nation.....by improving power, roads, rail and education....so that we can no longer be affected by sudden drops in the oil price.We may go through some austerity....but it would be worth it at the end.

So sorry.....but APC and every other party should be thinking about saving money. Awoof government is forty years out of date. Time we became a serious manufacturing power...the hard way.

I so agree with u on that. this scheme is a first class stomach infrastructure, d type Nigeria can't afford. what happens to spending heavily on infrastructural development? diversifying the economy, making the economy so robust that jobs will be created and those that wish to be sufficient will run biz with ease, that way, govt won't be feeding so many people.

what I am saying is, just like the law wants us to be righteous, grace too seeks for us to be righteous in heart n act, but d two operates differently. you need to ask urself this, if I need to do all d work, kick myself n all that to be righteous, why should Jesus die? there is a provision for that in the old covenant. in the new order, grace comes not automatically, but it comes when we agree we are a sinner, sinner not cause we do bad things, but cause our nature is sinful, then we believe in the finished work of Christ, then we accept there is no way we can please God on our own, we can never meet his standard, he is too perfect, that's why we need to pray through Jesus every time.
when we believe this, we do not automatically become perfect, we work towards perfection, but even in our imperfect state, we are righteous before God, because we have Jesus as our high priest standing for us.
when we become born again n taste his love, we become a new creation, our spirit is quickened n our conscience lightened. no one who goes through Christ will b comfortable in sin. if such a person is forced into doing wrong, their will be restlessness, lack of peace, not because God is angry at that person but because the person just did something that is against his nature. like a lion barking like dog.
