Patiencemom: I don't think Texas is the best option anymore. Look at the past 30 pages of this thread and see that a lot of people going to Texas are getting denied. It's not a coincidence that the last question she asked was about state before denial I think mothers should try different states: Oklahoma, Louisiana, Florida, New Hampshire etc |

I used Houston North West Medical centre To appeal to the V.O now, your hospital only fee( excluding doc fee) should be around 12-15k dollar. May God help our mothers. |

aye88: Bank statement. Both domiciliary and naira acct. Letter of employemnt for both hubby and i. Leave letter from my employer Documents of our landed properties Pension certificate Budget sheet. ( our budget sheet showed we were only going to spend half of the total amount we had in our account. ) Flight booking Hotel booking Marriage certificate Itinerary of places hubby will visit Hospital correspondence A detailed LOE stating my name, what i do and where i work, purpose of visit, amount made available for the trip, details of hospital and doctor i will be using. Details of how long the three of us intend to stay.
I also wrote a detailed letter addressing the prior refusal.
I think this is about all. Generally, i feel if you will be declaring your intention for childbirth, they want to know you have the finance to cover the cost and any contigencies and they also want to see the plans you have made regarding hospital and doctor who you will be using in canada and the cost.
NB, the embassy later sent a request letter to include a proof of medical insurance to cover my stay in Canada How did you get doctor's correspondence pls? |

mooreengineers: And why is their rate cheaper against what the embassy want to see? Just being inquisitive though. I just checked and it's very cheap to believe.
However, will the hospital agree to increase the bill if requested and what amount is advisable to be quoted? Kindly read the messages above your comment. nimcote: Goodmorning everyone, pls I have a question. I have seen on this thread that there are some red flag hospitals/Drs or states. Pls can I use doctores/El-Paso? Plus does any one know any good affordable hopital/ doctor I can use in Dallas, Newyork or LA? I am a first time mom and would really appreciate all the help I can get. Not a redflag. However, you may need to request higher package as their package is now cheaper and small with what embassy want to see. |

nimcote: I hear you but you need to understand , B1/B2 are conjoined. I had a B1/B2 VISA, was stamped in with the B2 STAMP at POE and was give 6months stay. But this was a in 2015.... You will see I didn't dispute the conjoin theory. Thats what they all carry. However, you specified the type you needed in your Ds160. |

nimcote: abujaniv: Hello. We don’t normally post in this thread, but it seemed worthwhile to drop in and correct some misconceptions. We say this a lot, but it bears repeating: Birth tourism is legal in the US provided the applicant is open about their intention and pays the medical expenses in full. This means that the applicant should declare any such intention they have at the Embassy/Consulate and again at the port of entry.
If it happens that the applicant gets pregnant well after the initial visa interview, they will have the opportunity to make their intention, medical preparations and financial resources known at the POE. However, it will remain up to Customs and Border Patrol whether to allow that applicant into the country. Some are not, and they are put on the next flight home. This must be extremely uncomfortable for a heavily pregnant person, to spend 15-20 hours on a flight to America, several more hours being questioned, then another 15-20 hours on a plane home. This is what we want to avoid.
Onto some other misconceptions: The concept of the “change of intent” letter is not valid. These e-mails are not read nor correlated with the applicant’s file. Some people who send such letters may get a form letter in response, but it is informational in nature and in no way confers permission to amend the declared purpose of travel. What matters is what you declare at the Embassy/Consulate and at the POE. After the fact e-mails do not carry any weight.
Some applicants say, “I applied for only the B2 visa to declare my medical intent.” The B1/B2 visa categories are conjoined, so applying for only one does not make any difference. Other applicants say, “I appeared at the window with a big belly,” as if this alone is enough to declare their medical intent. Again, the responsibility is on the applicant to be honest about what they plan to do in the US.
Other considerations: Medical care is expensive in the US, and costs can escalate dramatically if there are complications. Credibility is paramount in the US visa process. If visa officers detect any deception or obfuscation, no amount of excuses, documents or receipts will make up for the loss of credibility. That bolded is extremely important. Study it well. |

Also I was thinking of just going through Houston poe and having at least 20k dollars between me and my wife and also having a card with money as well plus a letter from a hospital and also pay ments of maybe 2k advance to the doctor and a letter from the hospital expecting me? Also what's the worst case scenario? Please advice? Thanks A lot Go with every documents that explain your intention to give birth and you can afford the medical expenses. Paying in advance does not give any assurance if you didn't declare intention of birthing when the visa was issued. You might be lucky but POEs aren't smiling. Titok207: Apparently, I had the initial quote from henrico doctors hospital and had all my prenatal test done there. I then read drafricana’s post about henrico and visa renewal. At the POE, I was sent to secondary inspection. The IO that attended to me asked what hospital I wanted to use, gave him the henrico doctors hospital result and all. He then ask if that is the main hospital I wanted to use, I then mentioned to him I had changed my mind and showed him Dr Moore’s letter and all that I am aware of the insurance more reason I had to change my hospital. He replied saying; if you had told me you wanted to use this hospital, I would have send you back to Nigeria because they claim self pay whereas they use insurance and taxpayers money. So, Mothers if possible kindly avoid hospitals with self pay price or rediculous bills. He accepted the Maryland own and stamped me in. I then asked if I wouldn’t have issue with the hospital, he said provided I pay all my bills. Thanks for the details. Safe delivery!! |

The immigration officer specifically told me if I had said I was going to use henricos doctors hospital, he was going to send me back to Nigeria because they use insurance. Thanks once again @drafrican. Can you elaborate more on this for the sake of others? |

Japsylee: I am so happy and elated for you. Please house I have a different problem. We were issued a U.S visa sometime March last year and I have visited twice while my wife was yet to use her own. She was asked wether she was pregnant last year and she said no she was not. She is now pregnant and wants to give birth in the U.s. I am in a fix as regarding if we should write to the embassy to inform them of our plab or just travel cos we have bought our ticket already? Please help a brother Thats where you would have solved all the current dilemma. "She is not pregnant now but we would like to have have baby in the US when she is pregnant in future." The V.O asked you to avoid the current problem. The POE is not smiling now. Am not discouraging you but not having a B2 for birthing might be huddle. Let them know now. If you are invited, go with your proofs. |

Nikkles01: Hello everyone, here’s my story
My husband and I moved to the US in 2016 on the L1/L2 visa. In the course of our stay we started an IVF procedure that was mostly funded by insurance. Barely 2 years after our stay, we relocated back to Nigeria. So I went back to the US to have our baby (visa was still valid) but we had lost our insurance so I was a cash patient. My zero balance statement shows I had a bill of $56k and only paid $6,400.
Upon applying for a B1/B2 visa to go back for another IVF for baby number 2 ( I have frozen embryos in their clinic) the VO only pointed out how I paid almost nothing for my baby’s delivery. However, the contract I signed with the hospital clearly stated the amount I paid as being flat and had no discount. Also, I signed a financial Assistance Form which stated that I was offered financial assistance but I didn’t wish to qualify.
I have contacted the hospital where I had baby number 1 but they are insisting that their legal department cannot issue a letter stating that I did not seek or get any financial assistance.
We want to reapply, we just don’t know how to tell the story differently. The story can't be told differently. Just pray you meet a V.O willing to listen to your explanation. They have your records which telling a different stories can be interpreted as misrepresentation. |

I am about to attend my Interview with my husband next week and I would like some advise from the house.
This is our first child and my first attempt to travel.

My husband has an uncle over there in texas who will assist with accommodation. his statements ready over N8Millin and I just want to make sure everything from our end is ready before we attend the interview.
Does anyone have any sample excel sheet of costing for the baby? I heard that would be needed at the embassy too.
If anyone wouldn't mind giving me some tips. Thank you For both of you and medical expenses, your balance can be better. You can type budgets sheets at the search button or go back some pages or search @Leezee for sample. I wish you good luck. |
