finnacle2020: Samuel Sochukwuma Okwaraji (19 May 1964 – 12 August 1989) was a professional footballer who played internationally for Nigeria.
He was also a qualified lawyer who had a masters in international law from the Pontifical Lateran University of Rome.
He collapsed and died of congestive heart failure in the 77th minute of a World Cup qualification match against Angola at the Lagos National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos State on 12 August 1989.
He is also linked with the controversial match between Nigeria and India which was claimed that he scored the only goal against the Indian side 99-1 which leads to his death on the pitch.
So sad, I was at the National stadium to watch the match that day as a 17 year old having escaped without the knowledge of my parents who would naturally not have allowed me. Just like yesterday!

The deceased who is hailed from Kastina Ala in Benue state Nigeria was said to have drank a poisonous substance, said to be a Rodent killer, SNIPER, on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at her home in Kastina Ala Benue state.
According to Reports, Bako saw a social media platforms advertisement sent to her asking her to invest her money for the doubling scheme, with 100% Assurance that she will get double of her investments within few minutes.
After the persuasion, the Late Bako Veronica decided and transferred a sum of N100,000, believed to be her school fees which she couldn't pay before ASUU Strike/Covid-19 Pandemic. on discovering that she had been scammed, she became restless.
A confirmed source said: On Thursday Morning her family members noticed her abnormal behaviors and depression, They admitted to know what is wrong with her, but she told them she was fine. Her mother said since she said she is fine that she should pick a bike to the market and buy some items for herself. She drafted the list, but she said she want to bath before going, so reaching the bathroom Bako took the poisonous substance called Sniper.
While her Relatives where inside the room, she struggled and fell outside the bathroom, one of the neighbors who saw her started shouting, alerting her parents and siblings to come outside, behold Bako parents find there daughter lying lifeless on the ground, they asked her what happened, she managed to tell them that she took Sniper.
The source also added that: "Before she passed on, it is allegedly that she sent a text message to the Scammer, saying that if she dies that her blood will be on the head of the scammer."
Meanwhile, friends and Coursemates which i am one of them expressed a great shock over her death.

I'll be as brief as possible because there's a football match to catch.
Without a doubt, most Nigerians are already looking forward to 2023 and politicians and their strategists are already laying landmines for those they imagine would constitute the greatest stumbling block to the realization of their aspirations. To this end, PDP, even though they have yet to give the slightest hint of their flag bearer, has deployed their supporters and surrogates to initiate a relentless barrage of attacks on whom they suspect would be flying the APC's banner- Tinubu.
Nowhere is this more evident than on Nairaland.
There's a problem with this strategy and it has everything to so with human psychology.
Before the advent of the current political jousting, the Yorubas, not surprisingly, weren't as pro-Tinubu as we see them today- at least, not online. This is because they tend not to be as politically intransigent as other ethnicities in Nigeria. They couldn't care less about the intermittent jabs the man suffers, mostly from Yorubas themselves! Today, the story is totally different, no thanks to the endless attacks on his person by not only PDP supporters, but people they (Yorubas) consider OUTSIDERS.
What we are witnessing is a herd resistance to what the Yorubas consider an attack, not only on Tinubu, but on Yoruba interests. As long as the attacks aren't coming from WITHIN, the collective defence being put up for Tinubu should be expected, the staunchest of which, ironically, would come from folks who were once totally indifferent about Tinubu or whatsoever fate he suffers.
Look at it this way: when IPOB attacked Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Germany, it appeared as though most Igbos endorsed the action, with some saying Igbos are not fond of tolerating errant politicians of Igbo extraction. They applauded the perpetrators and scornfully mocked the victim. But, the moment OUTSIDERS attempted to mock and "insult" the same Ekweremadu, they were rebuffed by the same people that had mocked and insulted him!!
The counter productivity of this strategy should be obvious to PDP and her supporters by now. The more you attack and scorn Tinubu, the more Yorubas would push back, and the more the man tends to grow in popularity. I'm not sure these attacks has turned any pro-Tinubu observer to an anti-Tinubu one, but I am VERY SURE it has turned some indifferent observers into his staunch supporters.
I've no doubt in my mind we all desire a better and prosperous Nigeria, let's try and go about it the right way. Unwittingly making a hero of someone you consider a devious villain would hardly help your course. Review your strategy PDP.
odiks: The Oba of Benin, Omo N’ Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare N’Ogidgan 11, yesterday thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for endorsing and presenting his party flag to the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) candidate in the Edo State governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize- Iyamu, insisting that the Benin Palace remains neutral in the politics of the state.
The highly revered Oba stated this when he received the APC’s candidate and the governors elected under the platform of APC, who visited him in his Palace in Benin City, the Edo state capital, during the flag off of the party’s governorship campaign in the state yesterday.
Oba Ewuare who, along with his Palace chiefs, prayed and gave Ize-Iyamu the traditional blessing said that even though he was elated over the endorsement of the APC’s candidate by the President, he explained that the Palace of the Oba of Benin does not get involved in partisan politics.
He strongly advised that in order to avoid recurrent socio-political conflict that seems to regularly ravish the state, making the state a laughing stock to the rest of the country on how politicians manage their affairs, Edo political actors should eradicate the twin evil of political violence.
Oba Ewuare 11 prayed for peace during and after the state governorship election slated for September 19, advising all stakeholders to play by the rules. Earlier while speaking, Ize-Iyamu said he was in the Palace, in line with the Benin tradition and culture to inform the Oba that the APC’s leaders were in his domain, Benin City, for the flag off of the party’s governorship election and requested for his blessing and prayer. Speaking later at the well attended rally held at Uniben Sports Complex, Mai Mala Buni, the governor of Yobe State and Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caretaker Committee advised supporters of the party to shun violence during campaigns and the September 19 Edo State governorship election.
He said, “You should not be involved in violence during the campaign and election because for us victory is sure.
“You should ensure that you go out and vote for APC, your vote will count,” On his part, the chairman, APC campaign Council and Kano State governor, Abdullah Umar Ganduje, said with the crowd witnessed during the campaign flag-off, APC will win the September 19 Governorship Election.
He said with the simple agenda of the party candidate, victory is already assured.
He commended the state chapter of the party for the successful swearing-in of the 14 members-elects of the State Assembly.
Former governor of the state and immediate past national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, said Ize-Iyamu is coming to reengineer the development of the state. He said, “When Ize-Iyamu becomes the governor, he would bring back government’s property privatised by Governor Godwin Obaseki, especially the Edo Central Hospital for both the rich and the poor,”.
Other dignitaries at the event were Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Dapo Abiodun, Rotimi Akeredolu, Hope Uzodima, Isiaka Oyetola, Abubakar Sani Bello, Nasir el-Rufai of Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Imo, Osun, Niger and Kaduna states.
Also present were Rotimi Amaechi, Timprey Silva, Ministers of Transportation and Minister of State for Petroleum respectively, Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo- Agege.
Bawal: Due to some challenges, I and my wife are staying in one room self con and her 30 year old sister has been staying with us for some months now, my wife is older than her by three years.
Making love has been challenging since then even though the sister puts bed on the floor and sleep,most time when we assume she is asleep and engage in the act, i will later observe that she is not sleeping. Though she will maintain as if she is sleeping and this is constituting an uneasy environment.
In fact most time she knows when we are doing it. We are very uncomfortable over the act and she is not moving out from the house soonest. Though she is an adult that such may not sound strange to her, but indirectly seeing or hearing the sound on when i am performing duty on her elder sister makes us feel uncomfortable especially when we see one another in the morning after the act.
