to say that the oduduwa aint the most i repeat the most tribalistic people on earth hmm na joke abi While obj order the butcherin of Odi people, niger-delta never for once sees it as an attack from yorubas, but nooooooooo did the nigerians sees it like that NO we see FG

but for so long the same delta has been blowin up nigeria oil pipe line in their soil which the same fg uses nigeria oil money to fix it back but as soon as there is an attack in lagos,

oduduwa are popin out their trait

disappointed hahhahhha NO we know TRust

But, must you blow up to destroy? More than 80% of the people that will suffer (in the eventuality of a full fracas) never made a dime outta the oil windfall in the first place. What is their crime to make them suffer? Still tryn to understand how you guys reason.

@ Kobojunkie

The British left us with some values that we have discarded. While I was at UNIBADAN, I observed that the faclities on campus looked similar to those of the University of London. Till now, the facilities of UI are still being maintained in a British manner though some of the infrastructure has dilapidated. There are a lot of things for me to say, but I'l leave it for another day. Cheers.

When was this? I was in UI in 2005 for a post graduate degree and the facilities were an eyesore. They were being maintained in a very Nigerian (pardon me, but its true!) manner!

All thru my 18 months, I never used the school's rest rooms once! It was that bad. meanawhilla, Check Buck'ham u'll see a clear difference.

my eyes oooo

moderator plz lock this thread, tooooooooo biased!

to say that the oduduwa aint the most tribalistic people might just be an understatement, but i think 2nite is the answer

why did an attack at the nigeria oil watever implies an attack on Oduduwa

Gov Fashola has failed completely; hmmm complacency is takin over, so when u picture Obama watchin his speeches on iran saga u think is a joke

he should have direct his words on the destruction of fg asset in lagos instead sayin the people of Lagos, shocked shocked shocked shocked wetin he wan proof, poeple of lagos, nooooo, this is nigeria oil we are talkin about, he failed

so oduduwa trait there for yall onec again,

any doubt

ifr mend blew bridges then, fashola have a case but is it??hmm

And some1'd say it aint an attack on Yorubas. . .

Abeg forget the man in the mirror here.

Akala is a useless rogue simple and short. If you stay in Ibadan, you'd see how useless the town has become. gaping holes at the centre of major roads. . .  no repairs. Nothing works. I tire for this MEND boys sef.

Did their father's father plant oil in the lands?
Do they even know the origin of the so called crude oil?
Are they aware that by the Land use act, ALL lands in Nigeria belongs to the Federal Govt and that those who 'buy' lands only have rented it for a period of 99 years?
There is no other term to describe their action than High Treason and wanton destructionof Govt property!

Jeez! What we condone in this country all b'cos of some corrupt pips. . .
Last warning, stay away from Lagos o!

5M for a single public rest room? Haba. . .! I'll keep my peace till the prototype is seen. I know people in Ibadan that built respectable bungalows (3 bedrooms, 3 toilets and bath) with just about 3.5M in Ibadan. Like I said earlier, I'm holding my peace till we see what its gonna look like.

Whoever said opposite? (even tho its more like 60-65% as at June 2008) My point is, do not destroy what is urs in the name of freedom fighting! Christ! is that so difficult to understand? You spend much more rebuildin!

FYI, I have paid my tax every month for the past 6 years, ok? Never missed one month. Even though I mite not have gotten all I expected from FG, mos def, the solution is not me going to blow up Federal secretariat. That, my friend or anything near it, is BARBARIC!

You sincerely believe a group of men will wake up and risk their lives for the wonderful prize of front page news on the Guardian! I am having a laugh.

You lived in the Delta for three years and you are an authority on the issues. Well, I would not begrudge your knowledge but MEND's activities have come in leaps and bounds; from election thugs to the menace they are today in the eyes of the looters in power and their sympathisers.

Nigerians need something new to speak for them and yes you can argue that MEND lacks the moral authority to be that voice but they are carrying a message and would continue to destroy Nigeria's vital facilities until Yar'adua and his ilk realise that they need to shift their focus from their pockets to the average Joe on the Nigerian street.

The crusade shouldn't be for the delta alone, it should be for the entire country as Nigerians have had the wrong end of the stick for far too long.

Nigerians will speak for themselves. We dont need Mend to destroy property that will cost only God knows how much to repair in the name of speaking.

Beaf:

Oh you think Niger Delta people should be slaves eh?
We hear wazobia and all that bullshit in Nigeria but people are waiting for Delta minorities to act first.

Nobody is waiting for minorities to react. Black market sells. Oil for arms. Who does not know that is what mend thrives on. Mend should take a look at the life of Mahatma Ghandi. There are so many lessons to be learnt

Ibime:

MEND doesnt disriminate between Nigerian property and oil company property. Both can get it. The aim is to bring oil production down to 0 bpd. . . .its now 800,000, down from 2.4m bpd. . . . I say MEND are making very good progress. . . .

Thou Ignoramus. To stop BPD, you dont attack Atlas cove, an import section. You attack shell, chevron ,etc You think crude oil is mined @ atlas cove?

presido1:

You are a selfish bloke, let everybody suffer it then collectively we will all join to defeat the dynasty that put us all in this mess. remember a hungry man is an angry man.

And angry men don't think straight. Most descisions made when angry are mostatimes regretted. Call me selfish? If protecting what was built not by investors, but our taxes and all stuff to make life easier, then you have a point.

Negro_Ntns:

I share your concern but. . . Not, if the blown asset belongs to any of the mentioned companies.  I can only imagine that this is an extension of their reach but the targeted assets are still the same, those belonging to the oil companies.  But we dont have the full facts yet to say one way or the other.

Atlas Cove Jetty is (NNPC) Nigerian property. First built in 1979, and rebuilt by Messrs Julius Berger in 2000. You see why isaid mend is losing focus?
Putting it simply. blowing up PH refinery to get attention. Whose gonna suffer for that ? US!!!

ow11:

How do you posit they get the members of the FG to stop mortgaging Nigeria's future for houses in Mayfair and Longbeach?

What do you think they seek to achieve by destroying infrastructures? Newspaper headlines?

If they wanted to they will.

Yes, newspaper headlines, nothing more. 95% of us regular Nigerians do not even know what happens to these proceeds. . . why make life difficult for them? You want pips to join your crusade, ? Mos def not by blowing up stuff! I worked in the Niger delta for 3 years and I know exactly the state of affairs there. I also know the people I saw then were not this unreasonable. A bunch of lazy, misguded youth are channelling their energy into explosions, instead of intellect. I strongly support the urgent development of the Niger Delta, and up till this morning  MEND's cause. Cripple Shell, Mobil, Chevron, Agip(if they can get near). . . No wahala. Blow up Mosimi? A vandal's move and it seems MEND is loosing focus.

Two wrongs don't make a right but only those that fight get and appreciate freedom/democracy. Except you believe the general Nigerian populace is free.

Glad you agree with that.

If then there is the descision to fight, why not do sumn that will affect directly those that are affected?
Seriously, the people who should do the fighting are lounging about. If i recall, were there any superimposed Governors in the Niger Delta?
oh, you think the Niger Delta is the only area being deprived? You'd be shocked at what the FG is doin to Lagos state. . . only difference is the leaders. Suppose MEND sorts itself in house first? Blow up the Governors, Senators, Local Govt Chairmans House of Reps etc Houses.
But come all the way to lagos to blow uo Mosimi? Naah. That, simply put is vandalism at its peak.

Ps: You mite just wanna check up the meaning of the word Vandal
Politics / Re: MEND Attacks Lagos by freezy(m): 12:32pm On Jul 13, 2009
Bitter as this might sound, two wrongs WILL NEVER make a right

This, I insist is the most cowardly act I have seen in years. Destroy to correct? Duh. . .
The V.P. is a Niger deltan. Men who have been accused of dressing up as women in order to escape arrests are Niger Deltans
And some people feel the next thing to do is to blow up stuff? Blowing up stuff can be done by any fool (remember tv show Brainiac?)
Intellects dont repair destructively.
Funny thing is, people who dont even know what the revenue from the  Niger Delta is being done with by those in charge will now suffer because of some over zealous misfits militants' actions
I still cannot fathom how we can think this way in in the year 2009. . . Christ!
