Would you justify a murderer who killed for fun, simply because a judge sentenced someone to death? Does it look reasonable to you to say 'Hey, you're right to kill him, since judges also kill people through court judgements"

Did you see the part that these people committed grievous sins that made God see them as pollutants in the world? Did you see that God judged Israel the same way He judged these people? Did you see that God waited 500yrs before executing the judgement? Did you also see the part that Israel was not the aggressor? Would it interest you to know that the Israelites didn't commit as much atrocities as the Canaanites committed, and were not given as much time to repent as the canaanites were given before God's judgement came on them?

God is a just judge. He would not allow a wicked person or nation to continue in wickedness unchecked. If you're wicked, God will bring you to judgement.

Today, God has abolished physical punishment. He'll wait patiently for you to repent until the day you die. After that He'll still judge you, no matter who you are.

3. Read through the scriptures, you'll discover that, even still, the Israelites were not the aggressors against the Canaanites. Even though God sent them to destroy those people because of their wickedness, the Israelites were not the aggressors. This is how the wars of Canaan started:

"And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, saying, Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king's high way, until we be past thy borders.. Did you know that God judged the Israelites with virtually the same judgement when they committed the same sins as these Canaanites? Is that not justice? The only reason why God did not completely annihilate Israel was because He promised Abraham that He'll raise a nation from Isaac whose seed would bless the world. Israel is a reward for Abraham's dedication to God. God won't totally destroy Israel only because He would not destroy Abraham's promised reward. God kept remnants from Israel alive only because of that promise. He scattered them from Canaan for many years and decimated them beyond measure but still preserved their nationhood. A just God. No partiality!

5. Now, let's talk about the Amelekites.

You talked about God's judgement on them without referring to the evil they did to have warranted such judgement.

Amalek was not among the nations that God wanted to.judge. Israel had no business with Amalek but yet Amalek attacked Israel without any provocation in the days of Moses. They mention the specific categories of people they're inviting to the altar. Then, the Holy Ghost does the conviction.

It's not easy for anyone to answer an altar call except he or she is convicted and propelled by the Holy Ghost.
