I don't care if I get infected. I'll just be sick for just about a week or 2 and I'll most likely be immune to it for life or prolly a long period of time. after all, I'm young and very healthy with zero underlying health issue.

Nigeria should be more concerned about it's economy that is about to take a massive nose-dive because I'm sure hunger and depression will kill more people than the Corona virus that won't spread too freely in hot weather.

The virus is not over hyped. From the onset we've been told the fatality rate is just 2%. The most important thing is early detection so you can cured. Lasa virus and Ebola are more deadlier than corona. Just like you I also don't care if I contract this virus as I'm also sure it will not kill me.

This is not the developed country, by the time we stay at home for 2months and there is no solution in sight, people will ignore the rules and damn the consequences to look for food.

The problem here is even with full gas supply, we only have 3hrs supply for a whole day. Now that there is problem its even difficult to see an hour power supply. Today we only had a total of 30mins. And the supply wasn't straight. They kept doing on and off till they finally took it.

That's misplaced priority. First of all, how will they test the efficacy of their discoveries? And how will they know it works unless the have an infected patients or the sample of the virus to test it with? How will they get the virus sample to test? You will end of having people who work for their selfish interest thereby working against the interests of the general public.

This is an unworkable solution.

Why not call for the assembly of the best scientist and biochemist in Nigeria, give them a good lap, feed them, provide 24 hrs electricity with the best electronic gadgets and laboratory equipments and have them work together towards having a solution to the virus?

Common, who advises these people self? They need better advisers.

I'm bothered for three reasons:
One: No one has ever detected a cure for virus. No virus can be cured. So why do they think a cure for this will surface? Virus were not designed to be killed except you want to kill the host with it, they are top in the food chain

Two: For something that no one in the world has discovered, the government is offering a mere 36 million naira not dollars. This is the money that is not even enough to buy a senator's vehicle. Put in mind that if a cure is found today, it will be the first cure for any virus in the world. This is a huge record.

A former Lagos State Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, says the new South-West security outfit, Amotekun, will be allowed to carry Dane guns just like the way hunters are allowed to do.

Owoseni, who is the Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Security, said this during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Friday.

When asked if the Amotekun would be allowed to use Dane guns, he said, “(Yes) if it is necessary for them to use in some instances because hunters do carry their Dane guns with their dogs. Those are their tools and it is not illegal.”

He, however, explained that the Amotekun would not run a detention facility but would purely be an intelligence-gathering group.

When asked if they would be allowed to make arrests, the retired CP said, “The power they have to make arrests is the same power you have. Every citizen has the power of arrest. When you arrest, you take to the police station. That is the same power. They are not going to operate a detention facility. It is non-state actors participating in security.”


The governor’s aide said the idea of Amotekun originated from a paper presented by the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development.

He said the paper was adopted by the Nigeria Police Force and was thus not inimical to the security structure of the country.

The governor’s aide said Amotekun would act like CCTVs and be a source of intelligence to the conventional security forces.



Owoseni said the North-Central states had also operated a similar outfit known as the G8 in the past.

He added, “They (Amotekun) are vigilantes but South-West is just formalising them like different states have one vigilante group or the other. Even in Oyo State, the police command had been working with the vigilantes who are registered at every area command.

“The procedure and the guidelines for the support and harnessing them with the non-state actors and the conventional security were drawn by DFID the Force headquarters bought into it. A strategic paper was prepared and it was out of that the Nigeria Police issued the Force Order guidelines on community partnership with the police.


“So, it is not a new thing. The networking thing is not new. There used to be a G8 for the North-Central when I was in the FCT command. The G8 then was formed by the governors of the North-Central as the conventional security people but this one being done with the South-West are the community people, non-state actors.”
