Business / Re: Why Is It Difficult for Nigerians To Pay For Services Rendered? by gbengaijot(m): 9:59pm On Oct 14, 2012 |
In other to help a fellow entrepreneur, here's my advice: 1. DO not be overfriendly with your customer. If they want to become too friendly, draw a line. If you become over familiar...they'll take advantage of it. 2. Don't just tell them the price of your service and expect them to pay. Print out a contract, invoice, or any document stating what you are going to do for them and how much it cost, then ensure you give out reciepts for every payment made to you. Most customer will take you serious and know that you are not a flash in the pan. 3. If you have a chronic debtor as a customer, dump them. Trust me, there are loads of people that will buy your service and not bat an eye lid at the cost. 4. If most of your customers don't pay up, then you need to change you own mindset and start targetting high end customers only. Tell me, if you are targeting high net worth individuals...and you have 10 clients that pay you N200,000 every month to clean their apartment, that is N2 million Naira for doing easy simple work. ANd just in case anyone is reading this post and think 200k is too much to charge for cleaning a premises per month, then it shows their limitation and their low thinking mindset. That is why some people will make 1 billion every year and some people make 1 million. The difference is in the mindset. 1 Like |

Nairaland / General / Re: Do Nigerian Girls/Ladies Buy Ebooks? by gbengaijot(m): 7:16pm On Jul 10, 2012 |
Just to help the OP. The OP ios only trying to do a feasibility studies and it seem a lot of people got this wrong andf start attacking ladies instead. The OP should have posted this in the business section and he would have got more relevant and informed response and opinions from people who have experience. However, to help him out..... Its easier to sell books to ladies/women/wives than to sell to men. If you have a genuine product (e-book) that solves a problem, they'll buy it from you. Truth is...what you are selling is not the E- book. Its the solution to a problem. There are loads of free ebooks online. Your own must be able to have what those free ebooks don't have. Also, you need to have a rock solid marketing. Using a product launch system can help you sell loads. So there you go, if you need more information, simply ask and I'll try and respond on this thread. Yes...people buy books and ladies/women buy it more. It takes a producing mind to figure it out...not someone who goes about all thread trying to post an answer to every single question even without knowing what they are talking about. 1 Like |
Car Talk / Re: The Low-tech $6,000 Car Made For Africa by gbengaijot(m): 5:00pm On Jun 30, 2012 |
The biggest critic are people who don't do things themselves. This guy visited a country, saw a need and built a solution to solve it. What is it with some people. If you are uncomfortable with the fact that a white man decides to solve a problem, why not solve it yourself. This has nothing to do with Colouir or Race. Its just plain business acumen. If you have any problem with it, go and create solution to a problem yourself. Afterall, the guy who designed this does not seem to be an engineer. I wonder what the Engineers, especially in Nigeria are doing with all their PHD, Masters etc Name titles only with a lack of substance! 1 Like |
Politics / Re: Lawsuit Filed In Chicago Over Nigerian Plane Crash by gbengaijot(m): 7:55pm On Jun 08, 2012 |
It is obvious that there are lots of ignorant people on this forum and they always LOVE to showcase their stupidity. The issue of the crash is a sensitive one. I find it appalling that a lot of people are insulting the man who filed this law suit. I bet because your family members are not directly related, you'll find it funny to attack someone who ios currently in grief over their loss and obviously unhappy that the crash could have been averted. Suing the manufacturers will ensure that class action is taken on the issue. The man knows obviously that not much will come out of the Nigerian Investigation as to what exactly caused the plane to crash, but by suing manufacturers, the US govt/law will make them (manufacturers) take an interest into why the plane crashed. If you find someones action to be confusing.....ask questions as to why they are taking the action instead of concludin g summarily and acting like keyboard jockey's typing sickening sentences. |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Vacancy For Paid Forum Moderator With Spam Management Focus by gbengaijot(m): 1:44am On Jun 08, 2012 |
Its funny how many individuals are posting without asking for more details about the job: A. Size of spam request deletion per day B. If the entire work will be done remotely/get instructions on site C. Tools required to do the job. Etc etc Instead, everyone is asking about 'how much the pay is' and quoting their certification training. For your info, certificate means NOTHING. Its BS. If you don't have experience of how to do this or willing to learn....your cert is BS. Ask for details of job before quoting your cert and pay. Managing spam is not beans talk. 5 Likes |

Education / Re: Help! Lecturer Wants To Ruin My Life by gbengaijot(m): 5:46pm On Feb 28, 2012 |
My sister has been in such situation before, here is what I advice: A. Record all your calls B. Save all SMS you've got from this lecturer. C. When you have two copies of proof of calls and text, contact high and mighty people in the society. If you don't know anyone, contact Fela Durotoye, contact Praise Fowowe (I strongly recommend this person) - use facebook to contact and send them copies of the audio calls. Trust me, a knoiw one or two of them will be willing to help out. To be honest, I am surprised that your pastor has not gone with you to the lecturer/HOD of the department. |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Salary Vs Self Employment, Which Do You Prefer by gbengaijot(m): 11:13pm On Dec 06, 2011 |
Cine: This is the the most intelligent post on this thread. It seems that the advent of internet has given everyone the liberty to come up with their random opinion and make it a fact. Below are the REAL FACTS: a. As an employee, you CAN NEVER be rich. b. You can NEVER decide when you get to work (No Freedom) c. You can NEVER request your pay grade to a certain level (its always capped) As a Self Employed: You can NEVER be RICH You'll never have freedom of Hours (you'll be doing most of the work) As a Business Owner, you'll be super rich You'll have multitude of people working for you Everyone claiming that being an employee is good are only saying it to make themselves feel good. There is no way you can be richer or have time than your employer. Individuals who are into their own business and are not better than employees are the self employed. Lastly, let me tell you a FACT: The most brilliant student will become a PROFESSOR to teach the average student to become an EMPLOYEE for the drop out student who becomes an ENTREPRENEUR, (Quote by Olugbenga Aijotan) Its your choice to determine which one you are! 2 Likes |

Webmasters / Re: How Can A Website Get Over 1 Billion Page Views In 24 Hours? by gbengaijot(m): 9:23pm On Oct 20, 2011 |
Its ABSOLUTELY obvious that the individual who created this topic and "hoped" to get 1 Billion pages view in 24hours does not have "much" knowldege about what they are talking about. 1. You can NEVER achieve this as a single individual 2. You can NEVER achieve this using a capped bandwidth (the type you are currently using for your iroy.in website 3. Your traffic is COMPLETELY useless if its not converting 4. THe screenshot of the analytics you provided shows a 70% bounce rate. That means 70% of individuals visiting your website are visiting and immediately leaving the site. which means the content of your site has no relevance to them. 5. Which means the traffic you drove to your website is "highly" untargetted. Google, the company that gets millions of views on their websites are running on multiple servers, recruit hundreds/thousands of individuals have a management structure in place and knows a lot about traffic, user interface, aesthetics, funneling of traffic, user experience and SEO. As in, they are so good at SEO that they hire team of SEO engineers that come to work solely for optimizing pages. THere is ABSOLUTELY no way you can do this on your own, so don't even think of it. As for your definition of server crashes. Anyone can get crash on their server. IF i have 1gig bandwidth and i get thousands of people to visit and download heavy graphics, my server will crash. if i have 10 gigabyte with same amount of visitors, my server wont crash. A server crash only happens when you have more visitors than your bandwidth and anyone can get that, even the guy who has access to 500MB bandwidth. What you should be thinking of is this: a. What your website is providing (it has to be relevant to your targetted traffic. There is no point bringing a bbc.co.uk reader traffic to a website like nairaland. A british man would most likely never register to Join nairaland. However, a Nigerian base din Nigeria or abroad will. Targetting is the key b. COnversion. What are you converting your visitors to do? and other stuffs that i can't even start to write about. Anyone can get 1 million visitors to their site. the point is, will the traffic come back? And it doesnt matter what you think about me being negative. If you are running with SPEED in the wrong lane, you are making a big mistake than someone who is walking slowly on the right lane. 1 Like |

Business / Re: Is It Possible To Start A Business In Nigeria With N3million? by gbengaijot(m): 3:58pm On Oct 11, 2011 |
Biz RULE 1: Never invest/go into a business you don't understand. If you don't have business ieas, do your own research first. don't jump in because "someon" told you its lucrative. If you don't have the mind of an entrepreneur, put your money in the bank and keep lookingat it. It will give you high self esteem that you have 3 million in savings, instead of you losing it |
Business / Re: Is Condom Importation Against Christianity? by gbengaijot(m): 3:33pm On Oct 11, 2011 |
joe4christ: Which bible are you reading? Evil desire for "selling condoms?". there is no biblical analysis that states that birth prevention using something like condom is a sin. If someone decides to import it into the country, its no sin. Its just like saying the guys who import medical equipments usd for abortion will go to hell, Jeezzz, Condom is a medical tool for preventing HIV and procreation! |

There is nothing biblically wrong with you importing condoms. As long as you are not directly selling it to anyone who is not married. Let me ask you a question, is it wrong to sell fuel to unbelievers? is it wrong to sell it to atheist? Don't judge yourself because some "individuals" claim you are wrong. Do your business and profit from it. |

@everyone, i am sorry i'll have to stop doing this tutorial. This is the 5th time i'll be posting and i keep getting banned by the antispam bot and th moderators keep deleting my post. Funny thing is that the moderators keep deleting the post, despite the fact that i never at all advertised any products, neither did i asked anyone to send me a private email. Yet, despite all of the antispam bots aggressiveness, there are still lots of people posting spam on this Business/Money category and they are getting past the Moderators. Sorry guys, i'll only be able to continue this tutorial on my website, the one in my signature. |

In my last post, i shared with you, how you can sell your own product online. I gave example of how Brian Tracy and Tom Hsieh make mon3y online with their own products. Another individual i forgot to name is a guy called Eben Pagan. You see, Eben Pagan is a great mentor of mine. I have never met him, but he mentors me almost every day through emails i get from him and through his books i buuy. I once paid over $350 to buuy an educational product from him on how to se.ll online. I read it, read it again, implemented it, failed at it, tweak it, until it starts to give me result. This is what most individuals don't do. They buy ebo.oks/systems all over the internet, read it and because they don't understand it, they just dump it and jump at another offer from another person who claims to be the "Know it all person". The truth is, no one expects you to bu.y a book and expect you to know it all in your first reading. Let me ask you something, while you were in school, did you ever buy a textbook and the first time you read it all, you understood everything and jumped into your exam? Did you? Definitely not! Same thing with all educational products you bu.y on "bi.z.ness opp.ortuni.ties! . And so i digress a little bit. You see, Eben pagan like i said is a guy who owns a $30 mi.llion business on the internet. Yes, he makes that much every year and guess what he sells? He sells "eb.ooks". And guess what the ebook is all about? No, it has nothing to do with "how to make mon3y". He sells ebooks to millions of people on "how to get a girlfriend", lol. If you don't believe me, then you should go to his website at www.doubleyourdating.com And that is what this guy se.lls. And because a lot of people have issues with getting a girlfriend, they are rushing to buy his ebooks. The ebooks were written by him as a result of extensive research. In Nigeria, most individuals selling ebooks are selling ebooks on "how to make mon3y online". The reason is because, its an obvious niche that so many newbies are ignorant about. Funny thing is that, every Tom, Dick and Harry is selling ebooks on this nowadays. Even the Tom who was plain lucky to attend a seminar yesterday will start posting everywhere on the internet for you to come and buy their book on "how they make mon3y from domains". If you go around Nairaland.com , and you see people posting email addresses, they are part of this menace. They are called half baked internet marketers, You don't want to join them. I'll show you how to become a better one. All i am asking is that, you read what i have been posting, deep think on it, ask questions and lets rub minds together. Next post, i'll be sharing with you how to sell other people's product and earn commission on it, |
