Seikiri1: If I told you that Sweden has no minimum wage would you believe it? Minimum wages does not alleviate poverty, when you artificially increase minimum wages , small businesses close and more jobs are lost than added to the economy. What we need is more free markets where ideas and intellectual property rights are protected. We need the rule of law and the freedom to generate wealth 3 Likes |

In as much as I think Buhari and his cronies have no clue about running a primary school let alone Nigeria, it is high time government steps out of subsidies and allow free market forces to dictate prices . All they need to do is set up strong judicial systems, security and then get out of the way of our economic development. 1 Like |

Programming / Re: Why Do Self Taught Programmers Over Exaggerate by GeneralShepherd(m): 12:00pm On Jun 28, 2020 |
ARCHEMEDESME: Full disclosure I have a master's in CS. The reason is this.... 1. A degree teaches you the basics, like algorithms , Boolean logic, mathematics etc. 2. The technology to build useful things maven, reddis, elastic search, mongo, spring, laravel, etc are not taught in school. 3. This is because these technologies change all the time. 4. So no matter your qualification unless you are developing frameworks, new language and new algorithms, your degree offers no real advantage 5. Some of the most successful tech business men and women are self - taught. 6. You are also self-taught because 70% of what you know as a developer you learnt on your own |

echibuogwu: Corona Virus will not kill even half of what Biko haram, hunger, accidents and child birth mortality kills in a year. The only reason our elites are concerned is unlike the factors I listed above that solely affect the poor, corona does not respect power oe authority. allthingsgood: So what do want people to do? Other governments planned years ahead for times like this. They secured food supply chains, structured their society to provide government safety net, invested in health care and established strong law enforcment agencies. Nigerian leaders in the past failed to do any of this, Buhari in his 5 years has not done any of this. Ordinary Nigerians, the ones who dont have mobile phones and live on less than $1 per day are suffering. What do you want them to do? Die of corona, hunger, insecurity ? Which one |

I don't know your wife, I don't know you and nobody here does, so why not talk to someone who you both trust and respect to see if there how this can be resolved? Most people that you are seeking advice from are young singles that do not have the maturity to manage a relationship like marriage. |

Romance / Re: Reply To: Chai! Nigerian Girls In Canada Are So Lonely! by GeneralShepherd(m): 11:44am On Apr 10, 2020 |
whizqueen: I used to be an expert on tinder and bumble. All it just made into was someone who had sex often. Online dating is designed to satisfy physical urges, if you think about it critically it goes this way for most. 1. See a cute pictures, swipe as many as you fancy 2. Match with a lot of women 3. Chat with all 4. Go for a date and try to close(sex) as many as is possible on the first date 5. Go on a second date at most, if the girl isn't putting out, onto the next one. 6. Rinse and repeat This is antithetical to how a long term relationship start, yes every once in awhile success stories happen but as a man I got almost hooked to excitement of a new match buzzing on my phone. Relationships should be a test of compatibility not who gives one the best orgasm as sex is not the only metric to measure suitability. I can only imagine how it feels for women. So for any moderately attractive person, this is a bad idea in my opinion. I will still suggest meeting people through mutual friends and family if in a foreign country. 1 Like |
