PoliticsRe: Chinua Achebe: Why Nigerians Hate Igbo by GenOrumov: 2:50pm On Oct 20, 2012
Achebe, however, saved some criticisms for his kinsmen. He criticised them for what he described as “hubris, overweening pride and thoughtlessness, which invite envy and hatred or even worse that can obsess the mind with material success and dispose it to all kinds of crude showiness.”
He added that “contemporary Igbo behavior(that) cab offend by its noisy exhibitionism and disregard for humility and quietness.
Is it not the same characteristics his kinsmen are known for the same thing he his exhibiting also? These ibos just keep spewing rubbish day by day and they keep asking why they always persecuted? They should keep deceiving themselves that they are the best thing (biafra) that might have happened to Nigeria/The world. I tell you, ibos will never smell the presidency so far Nigeria still exists. I don't see any reason why I should vote for any ibo man when I know that they will make the others suffer because of their stupid attitude despite them not being the best. Any ibo man that contests for presidency of Nigeria is just deceiving himself and his people. To all the reasonable, humble and peace loving igbos- I LOVE YOU! And to all the thoughtless, pride and hatred filled igbos- I GIVE YOU THE MIDDLE FINGER!

PoliticsRe: Okonjo-Iweala On Forbes List Of Most Powerful Women Of 2012 (pix) by GenOrumov: 4:18am On Oct 20, 2012
These oyinbos and their meaningless compilations. The people on this their so called lists should enjoy the 'Feel good' feeling this will bring to them while it lasts without forgetting that nothing lasts forever and we are all going to die sooner or later. Kudos to people anywhere in the world who are also hardworking and are excelling/excelled in their own fields but haven't been recognized nor mentioned by these oyinbos .
PoliticsRe: Kofi Annan - Abiola's Death Was Suspicious. by GenOrumov: 1:16pm On Oct 19, 2012
gerald28: During the election, the same Yorubas that northerners have bleeped so much will line up to vote them into power to keep fucking them. Is it not the same Abubakar that won the Bid for power plant in Lagoshuh??
kokosheen: Which northerner did the Yorubas vote into powerhuh pray and tell? Nawa for you people ooooo, is that you guys are sick or what? Don't you get enough of the Yoruba d/ick riding for once and face your affairs...

Bid for power plant in Lagos, shish, so its Yorubas that award the sale of FGN properties now abihuh We're the ones in Power now abi...
Don't mind the monkey! I guess its the hatred for us that is slowly eating his heart up that's the reason he can't contribute anything meaningful to issues.
lucenzo: The point is this; the generals that imprisoned and killed him were his friends. So at the end of the day, who is your friend? We need to understand the dynamics of these politicians and how it affects us. After the war ojukwu visited hassan katsina, buhari, and the generals he fought against. On his death day they all paid tributes to him. Obj played chess with ibb and they make us understand that they are enemies. Abacha killed shehu yaradua and today maryam‘s best friend is turai yaradua. We need to understand that it is the masses and their unborn generation that suffers at the end of the day not the politicians . Yoruba elites mix up well with their igbo and hausa elites but when you come tio nairaland, it is as if Nigeria is divided into ten parts. There is more that meets the eyes in Nigeria‘s politics.
@ gerald28, you better learn from this and stop hating.
TV/MoviesRe: The Best Nollywood Comedy Actor by GenOrumov: 10:44pm On Oct 17, 2012

Car TalkRe: Range-Rover Evoque Involved In Accident In Abuja by GenOrumov: 12:38pm On Oct 16, 2012
Maybe its my curse that got this car involved in that accident. Was in a traffic jam on ikorodu road, Lagos 2 weeks ago and imagine this guy in a white RangeRover also like this one, wanted to squeeze himself in between the space between the cars in front of it. It was as if the guy wanted to climb on other cars just to force his way through the traffic jam (I don't understand what he was thinking but I guess he felt his car wasn't dentable or maybe he even stole the car). With this foolish n mad act of his, he damaged many cars including my car. The damage done to my car was so great that I couldn't open my door.
PoliticsRe: Osun Speaker's Wife Was Rescued By PalmWine Tapper by GenOrumov: 7:03pm On Oct 15, 2012
And the palmwine tapper was given what? Nothing.that's what happens in nigeria.
This act of bravery and kindness can't be rewarded on the spot except you want them to give him for example just N1000-N5000. We shouldn't yet conclude that the palmwine tapper won't be rewarded bearing in mind that the incident just happened a 'few' days. Though don't expect the palm wine tapper to be given N1m but he may be assisted in another area he needs help
CrimeRe: Police: Why We Couldn't Save The Aluu 4 by GenOrumov: 5:20pm On Oct 15, 2012
This is a seriously lame excuse to cover up the obvious inefficiency of the Nigerian Police. So the IGP is saying that the police don't have guns anylonger to use in scaring away the mob but they have guns to threaten innocent passersby? It would have been better if he didn't say anything than giving this lame excuse.

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Is The MAJOR Problem Of Lagos State by GenOrumov: 7:04pm On Oct 14, 2012
But come to think of it. Why will they ask anybody to work for the whole 24 hours of the day without rest nor closing hour? @ op, I disbelieve this part of your report.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Is The MAJOR Problem Of Lagos State by GenOrumov: 6:49pm On Oct 14, 2012
@ op, using your logic and thinking, I won't be wrong if I also say that Obasanjo, Clark (GEJ's godfathers) are the real problems of Nigeria and not the President's perceived weakness and lack of intelligence to move Nigeria forward including the hiring of sycophants as advisers and to a large extent the criminal minds of Nigerians that will ensure the status quo remains.
CultureRe: Who Is Yoruba / How Do You Know You Are Yoruba by GenOrumov: 8:31pm On Oct 12, 2012
inurmind: I agree with u icon aus.
Besides, igbos were just trying to be funny becos there really is alot of funny stuff yorubas are known for. And that is not an insult. Infact they were indirectly praising u guys by mentioning stuff about great respect and tolerance.

As matured human beings u should have ignored them and pushed on, even accepting some of the things they said. That way u would be the wise ones and they the fools.
But u clearly showed immaturity and weakness by letting it get to u and failing to go on.
speak for yourself only. You didn't make those comments so you can't tell if they had other intentions other than they were up to some mischief as their comments clearly potrays. Save your lectures for your people and not us. Thanks.
CultureRe: Who Is Yoruba / How Do You Know You Are Yoruba by GenOrumov: 7:22pm On Oct 12, 2012
@ felifeli and other persons that want to know the yorubas/if they are yorubas, the internet as we all know is a great source of information but unfortunately we also know that it can contain false and inaccurate information. If you want to know the yorubas, come to their region to seek the information you really need and experience them live. DON'T LISTEN TO HEARSEY MOST ESPECIALLY NAIRALAND.

can a non-yoruba or not related to yoruba tell who a TRUE yoruba is? No! Infact Never!

CultureRe: Who Is Yoruba / How Do You Know You Are Yoruba by GenOrumov:
(1.) You are yoruba if you evolved from Oduduwa (if Oduduwa is your ancestor) (2.) You are yoruba if you are from the south west of Nigeria (3.) You MAY claim yoruba if just one of your parents/either your father or mother is from the south west (4.) You are yoruba if other tribes in Nigeria are always envious of you, abuse you and yet refuse to leave your land because it is filled with milk and honey (5.)You are yoruba if you're wonderfully made (6.) And lastly, you are yoruba if you are from the same tribe as Awolowo (the man that defeated a coward called ojuiku and his okoro brothers). Unlike a group of people who are situated on the opposite side of the map where the yoruba people are located who- (1.) Started a war that they knew they could never win (2.) The back of their head is majorly flat (3.) Are red skinned like palm oil (4.) Pronounce palm oil as palm oyel (5.) Must add palm oil and ugwu leaf to every meal (imagine my girlfriend from that region making indomie and added palm oil and leaves to it. I almost pucked. Yuck!! Dats nasty!!) (6.) All they think about is money, money and money. They can do anything for money including stuffing hard drugs in their a.n.u.s and using all their family members for money ritual (7.) Their men are always short and stocky (8.) They don't know how to combine colours (they can wear purple shades + yellow tie + green shirt + pink trouser + red shoes
Car TalkRe: How To Drive Automatic Vehicles by GenOrumov: 2:05pm On Oct 09, 2012
Siena: Not meaning to come across as a total douche, but why did you buy an automatic? You're clearly used to manuals, so I don't get it.
Very good question.
Typical Nigerian follow-the-crowd mentality.
If you drive a manual in 2012, then you're far behind.
At least, that's what 99.9% of Nigerians believe. SMH
Just because you are used to something doesn't mean that you can't try an alternative that is obviously simpler, easier and more convenient (considering the amount of time we use in traffic jams in Nigeria) than what you are used to.
PoliticsRe: Okupe: Critics Of Jonathan Are Silly Nigerians by GenOrumov: 1:26pm On Oct 02, 2012
They must be silly themselves. Jonathan and his men never cease to amaze me. They keep making silly statements like this and they wonder why they are always criticised?
Aren't we rejoicing again? huh

They should take their threat to the US that made the video.
Evil people, blood sucking monster
exactly. They shouldn't bore us with their shiit. They should go bomb America and leave the innocent women and children out of these. The way they operate confirms they are just mere cowards!

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Orders CBN To Stop N5,000 Note Plan by GenOrumov: 10:15am On Sep 21, 2012
For those praising the President, don't forget its just the suspension and not total cancellation until further and proper enlightnment is carried out by CBN. I therefore advise you all to reserve/suspend your praises because what this means is that before the end of the President's tenure in 2015 (or 2019 if he decides to seek re-election and wins) this idea may still be forced upon us in the future.

PoliticsRe: Nobody Can Intimidate Me - Jonathan by GenOrumov: 12:33pm On Sep 19, 2012
superior1: PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan believes that unseen forces are manipulating Nigerians against the government, judging by what he observed during the protest against the withdrawal of petrol subsidy, but he has said that he cannot be intimidated by anyone.

“For me, if I see somebody is manipulating anything, I don't listen to you. But when I see people genuinely talking about issues, I listen. I am hardly intimidated by anybody who wants to push any issue he has. I believe that protest in Lagos was manipulated by a class in Lagos, [and] not the ordinary people,” he said.
I'm sorry but I feel like slapping the President for his comment above.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan To Fashola: “Let’s Work Together” by GenOrumov: 12:25pm On Sep 19, 2012
When Obasanjo played politics with Lagos state funds and overall development, atleast Lagos didn't collapse. Lagos/ACN can never work with FG/PDP can never work with. Lagos alone will survive without Nigeria.

FoodRe: Noodle Lovers - Bad Way Of Cooking Noodles! by GenOrumov: 11:44pm On Sep 16, 2012
My girlfriend once made noodles with palm oil and I must confess, that is the silliest ingredient someone can add to noodles. While eating it, I acted like I was enjoying it so as not embarass her but after eating it and I couldn't hold it any longer, I had to give her a stern warning never to put PALMOIL in my noodles again. Ayanma!!!

kelvino25: . We need to redesign our flag. The guy that designed it is as lazy as the guy that designed the Japanese flag. No pun intended.
can you shed more light on what you mean by laziness on the part of the designer of Nigeria's flag?
CelebritiesRe: Neil Armstrong's Remains Buried At Sea. by GenOrumov: 6:39pm On Sep 15, 2012
And what's wrong with cremation? Whether You get buried or burnt, your body will still decay so why the fuss. Don't you realise that When you're dead, you cease to exist therefore unconscious of your surrounding. I'm looking forward to when we will start adopting that form of burial in Nigeria.
