DrAkpa: A lot of you Nigerians just have this larger than life image of yourselves when you absolutely worth less than half a cent. Please what exactly is wrong with washing toilets for a living? The white people who do cleaning for a living, are you superior to them? Mike Adenuga and Bola Tinubu that washed toilets and drove taxis during their hustling days, are you superior to them? People like you are destined to die poor because of arrogance and inability to adapt to any situation you find yourself. Please don't pass this furcked up mentality to your children otherwise you are settling them up for failure. Even myself, after I left secondary school, my father made sure I got a job. I worked as a cleaner, fuel dispenser and kitchen worker before I entered the university in the early 90s... I had a choice to stay at home and keep eating mummy's food, but I was determined with the support of my father to start fending for myself as a teenager. This sort of training prepared me for the early rough life of immigrants in the western world when I left Nigeria as a post graduate student in the early 2000s and as a professional after my party lost elections and federal power in 2015. Today, My first son is a physiotherapist, my daughter is a nurse and my second son is an engineer in their adopted country. But I made sure they worked their ass doing menial jobs after they left high school and as undergraduates. Stop this nonsense behavior, because it will lead to your destruction. A word is enough for the wise
While you have made great strides for yourself and your family, are you advising that a bank manager should rather opt for cleaning jobs than target a similar sector in his new country? How come the Chinese don't adopt similar tactics? For how long would he continue to work such jobs considering his erstwhile experience? I have nothing against cleaning jobs. My stance is: a cleaner in the UK is not better off than a bank manager in Nigeria. A banker in the UK is obviously better than a banker in Nigeria. But cleaner in the UK vs bank manager in Nigeria is an apples to orange analogy.
Dennisochampa: .... U lack understanding and it's terrible.... Did I force anyone to stay??
I have seen people who have all the money in the world but chose to stay back in 9ja..... My former boss.... He's a Nigerian but an American citizen... He's based in 9ja 8 months each year and only visits his wife and kids based in USA 4 months in a year of 12.......u Wan go beat that one?? Life is by choice.... I said what I said and didn't force anyone to accept or go through with it
That is what elites in Nigeria do na. It is the zenith as a Nigerian - live in Nigeria and have a passport of a developed country. All politicians do such. Desmond Elliot moved his family to the US before entering politics. Banky W has American citizenship while Adesuwa has British.
In fact, as a Nigerian man, that is the ultimate to life one earth.
Uwazie0: Lol. You never japa, you dey give motivational speech. Oga, everything you said is dust. The cleaner in my office here travels to severla countries on holiday. Infact, she just came back from Turkey last week, she went to relax with her husband for a week. How many people who have good corporate jobs in Nigeria can afford to travel out for holidays. She even uses an Iphone 15 pro max, which she pays bit by bit every month without any stress. you are here talking about washing toilet.
I can say categorically that it is better to wash toilet in the UK or US than to work with in banks or with Federal Government in Nigeria. Believe it or not
That is a big fat lie! You people lie too much on this forum. It is demoralising and a demotion for a bank manager in Nigeria to wash toilets in the UK. That is a terrible thing to do. So, it is not better.
I will stop here - MR IGBO Man - abroad suffer dey call you- biko goooo and stop disturbing the cyber space!!! THANKS
The man in Italy crossed certain boundaries, which resulted in the unfortunate incident. But you know what? The man who murdered him was sentenced to jail for 20 years. Mr Ogbonti, have the murderers of Deborah Samuel Yakubu, who was flogged, dragged and burnt to death by young Islamists been apprehended and sentenced to jail for their despicable acts? A young girl was razed to ashes by people who look like her and videoed for the world to see, YET the perpetrators have not been sentenced to jail. Also, any Igbo person living outside Nigeria, especially first generation, who complains about racism is very stoopid, and I am unapologetic about this aspect.
You allegedly live in the US, and everyone knows the consequences those who racially abuse or harm others, especially minorities, experience. That is called the rule of law. So before you come up with inane comparisons, ask yourselves hard questions. Being starred at is better than being butchered and having entire communities obliterated from the face of the earth. Why you have not returned to or moved to where there are many black people is befuddling. Always practicing what they don't preach, and preaching what they don't practice.
As for the dude in Malaysia. It was his passport, and not necessarily the colour of his skin, that caused it. Nigerian passport holders, especially males, have committed terrible crimes in Malaysia for a very long time. An African American or a black French citizen wouldn't be treated in the same manner. For racism in general against black people, it is more about wealth than skin colour. Any black person who wants racism to reduce, not end, as humans are tribal, should advocate for sub-Saharan Africa (home to black people) to be rich. https://www.nairaland.com/5886610/racism-against-blacks-reduce-drastically
Wealth reduces racism, not chanting black lives matter.
IbeOkehie: Oga Agboriotejoye, I don't know what to tell you again, but your commentary just keeps bringing me back.
Of course they don't want to release their accounts. Because it would reveal corruption. Again the question - WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF CORRUPTION? The major cause of corruption I can think of in the CBN are:
1)Subsidized loans like the Anchor Borrowers Scheme. The beneficiaries are not going to pay and food prices are general proof they didn't invest in production anyway. Like I said, subsidies promote corruption.
2)Forex round tipping. Everyone knows this. WHY DOES IT HAPPEN? It happens because the government has imposed REGULATED pricing for the forex market. So those working at CBN naturally take advantage.
From the above, the SOLUTION to corruption at the CBN is simple and straight forward - abolish all subsidies and regulated prices. Why is this so hard to understand? Sheeesh!!! There's no OFFICIAL PRICE different from PARALLEL PRICE of forex in the USA or UK or Norway. Have you traded forex before? The price you get trading on your personal forex account is the same thing the government gets. When Nigeria starts doing that, corruption will be greatly reduced at the CBN.
My friend, why do I have to describe everything in miniature detail? This is a simple matter. The problem here is DIVERSITY, lack of a dominant ethnicity. One way to REDUCE this is through regionalism, regional autonomy. Like the USA has for states and the UK has for it's component nations. It's not rocket science.
No, corruption wouldn't be possible in the first place without GOVERNMENT OWNERSHIP AND CONTROL. In the case of CBN and other central banks, they have a monopoly on the production of money and they can do it out of thin air, from nothing. Well, the markets have come up with an INNOVATIVE way to ABOLISH central banks and so make money completely immune from fiat impulses. How? Blockchain based cryptocurrencies like BITCOIN and ETHERIUM.
Basically, if Nigeria wants to abolish the CBN, adopt bitcoin. Since government will lose it's monopoly over currency, that Senator's daughter will have to go get a job elsewhere. This EMPLOYMENT CORRUPTION is the basic reason Northern APC politicians are so desperate to recreate Nigeria Airways. So there it is again, I've proved it - CORRUPTION ONLY EXISTS BECAUSE OF GOVERNMENT CONTROL OF AN INDUSTRY or due to GOVERNMENT REGULATED PRICES.
Dear Sir, it doesn't have to be an absolute. There's no country or industry or sector with ZERO corruption, the real issue is the preponderance or incidence of it. How to REDUCE corruption to a minimum. Come on man! Here's the simple question I'd like you to answer, please don't avoid it. Between publicly owned Universities and privately owned Universities, which are more corrupt, where is there more incidence of corruption?
I doubt that, but even if true I ask you again - between NITEL and the private owned telcos, which is more corrupt? Which once did Nigerians have more complaints about their corruption?
Well one of the freest markets, yes. Norway and many Scandinavian nations have even freer markets. For example, Norway and Sweden have no minimum wage laws such as exist in the USA.
The protections of USA industries by the Obama Administration was wrong and it greatly harmed the USA economy. President Obama himself is a socialist inclined politician. In fact the 2008 Economic Crisis was caused by government regulations implemented in 1999 by President Bill Clinton. The USA government at that time FORCED banks to lend to unqualified borrowers for political reasons to secure Black votes for Bill Clinton.
The USA and China are basically at war. When it comes to war, every rule is out the window. Don't be ridiculous. Huawei was suspected to bugging USA and Western telecoms networks. The USA does the same to China, which is why China is desperate to develop better civilian planes to compete with Boeing.
Russia is dominated by the Russian tribe....complete domination. There's other tribes like the Chechens, Jews and Turkmen in Russia too, but the Russians are dominant. China is dominated and ruled by the Han tribe. In fact it's almost law in China that you can't become a high government official unless you're Han. On government websites, the tribal origin of government officials are listed.
You're Nigerian. Surely you're familiar with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria? You're a Nigerian with family ties and friends in that country. Do you know ANYONE with legal TITLE or DEED of ownership for any piece of land in Nigeria? Have you ever seen a CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY and read the fine print? Any educated person should know the difference between OWNERSHIP and OCCUPANCY. Good Luck to Nigerians.
You have done so well explaining facts so clearly, but why it has been difficult to accept it is funny. You mentioned racial/ethnic dominance countless time, but the fellow finds it hard to grasp. Mind-boggling to say. Well done. I don't know how old you are, but maybe for posterity and philanthropic sake, think about lecturing at a public university in Nigeria, preferably the East for free. Lecture on economics and international relations.
Regarding ownership of land, you mean the 99-year lease? If so, then yes, Nigerians don't own land. Rather it is on lease. As for bank bailouts, well, proponents say it is good as big banks or companies are too big to fail as the effects on the economy would be catastrophic. Yes, Obama is a socialist just like the rest of the Democratic Party.
In a diverse country as Nigeria, unadulterated capitalism is the best economic system. Socialism, not even communism, can only work in homogeneous societies. Even with that, the population should not be more than 5 million and they should have a bountiful amount of natural resources. It is always funny and borderline annoying when I read black people loathe capitalism.
I'm surprised you don't like East Asian women. But they're really beautiful though. You haven't see any busty Asian babe over there?
Latina women are also well endowed too.
Women are beautiful creatures. I'd say it again and again. Hahahaha you and this Buhari though.
They are very beautiful facially, I won't lie. Very beautiful. But my love for breasts is like copied assignment, I cannot explain it. I have been asked by Japanese men what do I think of their women, and this is my response: your women are beautiful facially, but I prefer black women because they have big breasts and yansh. Their response? They understand and respect my choice.
As for Buhari. He ruined the economy and worsened insecurity.
folake4u: Wahalurrrrr. I think say na only book you sabi.
Never really seen you talk about women on NL streets.
I love the body of women - well-marinated vagina worthy of being sucked and licked; well-shaped, perky, and sumptuous breasts to be sucked tenderly. As someone born and bred in a black dominated society, and with my time in an environment with few blacks, I have come to realise the beauty of black women. I might change when I see myself in a Latino-dominated society, but for now, East Asian and White women don't freak me. I like breasts, and so far, na only black women get them.
I really do love breasts. Seeing them makes me relieved.
Na God go punish those wey vote for Buhari in 2015.
tensazangetsu20: Men build the society, women integrate into it. The work of building civilisation have never fallen on women's hands.
Guy, no dey argue this thing with people too much. Simple question: which developed country as we know it today had women at the forefront of its development?
If dem argue nonsense, mention me wherever the debate is going on!
ednut1: She probably came to UAE on visit visa with the hopes of converting to work visa. 🥲
But I thought Nigerian passport holders are banned from entering the country? Abi e no dey affect women? If the ban is gender neutral, it probably means she has been there before the ban. Then, if so, she suppose don build a string of connections and network.
I am being honest. I love the breasts of women - succulent, well-shaped and if possible, pointed. Suck them like a baby with her hands caressing my big head.
tensazangetsu20: Black men have failed thoroughly. You can never find any other race of women stranded like this anywhere in the world.
As a race, we get issues, but no be for all areas the issues dey affect us. African Americans, South Africans, Nambians, and Mostwana women wouldn't be found in such conditions. I doubt black women from Brazil and Ecuador would be found in such conditions.
But you know the funny thing about those groups of blacks I mentioned? They are where they are today because the white man was involved in the development of their countries.
MsAllison: you're right but sometimes I don't blame Buhari or Emefiele on this. they did that thinking Dangote had Nigeria interest at heart not knowing that they're dealing with a ruthless and heartless business man.
Buhari's administration supervised massive oil theft and did nothing to stop it. I don't know why Nigerians like to excuse that incompetent feudalist's policies.
As for Dangote, he would sell the fuel at the prevailing global rate.
IbeOkehie: As I understand it, Anglo-Saxon is a group under White European, and then Anglo is a group under Anglo-Saxon.
Like Bantu is a group under Black African. Youruba and Igbo are both Bantu, English and German are both Anglo-Saxon. I think, I might not have it exactly right.
Yeah I think North Asians have the highest IQ. Make sure you marry a Japanese woman and introduce me to her sister. Please 😆 Good Luck to Gerrard!!!
Cultural differences, and I like to suck breasts. Although, I am very open-minded.
IbeOkehie: The bolded, we've already indirectly discussed this. I wanted to expand but it's dangerous on an open forum. It's the same reason the Nobel Prizes are now rigged. Very deep and dangerous stuff.
But Nna wetin carry you go Japan abeg? See me trouble o! Are you seriously in Japan?
My story long.. I will share it when the time is right. I will mention you by then. Hopefully, life keeps us till then and beyond and you continue to be a Nairalander. Cos for me, I no dey deactivate.
But you have not explained why (not how) you believe the Nobel Prize in the science category has been rigged.
The brother of a friend lives in Japan, but he's not Igbo so it can't be you.
The majority of Nigerians in Japan, and I dare say all of East Asia, are Igbos. I am willing to bet this applies to South East Asia as well. Indonesia and Malaysia would be where a substantial population of Yorubas (Muslims) and Northerners might be present. But the majority should be Igbos, I am willing to wager.
The daughter of an Igbo Nigerian I worked with decided to attend Medical School in Japan...learned Japanese here in the USA, I don't know how.
She is strong! First as a black person in the medical field and second as a woman. The medical, accounting and legal fields are overwhelmingly Japanese, just as it is elsewhere, especially in non-English speaking countries. So for a black female? Honestly, she is strong!
My Oga Gerrard if na true say you dey Japan, na im be say you dey craze. What on earth are you doing there? Diplomat or something? Do you speak and write Japanese? You Igbo people are crazy 🤪 !!!!!
I don't know whether it is out of sheer coincidence or fate, but most Nigerians in my school are Igbos. The majority of scholarship awardees' of MEXT from Nigeria - Japan's prestigious scholarship for foreigners - are Igbos. Japan is disproportionately populated by Igbos, whether work or study or asylum seekers.
But seriously, why are you surprised? You are Igbo as well, so? I know the effects of the civil war kickstarted the movement to the Far East but why it has continued to date is not clear. Na to conduct research on why there are more Igbos in countries with fewer blacks than Yorubas (since both ethnic groups constitute the largest set of Nigerian diasporans).
P.S. On the italicised part, that is a hypothesis.
As for writing Japanese? In my opinion, this is almost impossible for non-East Asian adults. Unless born and bred here, it is hard to write it. Even adult Japanese find some of the Kanjis to be hard. For the time here, I would say I have done well. I read better than I speak. I can hear also, but must be spoken slowly and in standard Japanese. Once it is shortened or the prefectural dialects come in, wahala dey.
Does that include the Germans abi dem be Saxons too? I would have mentioned the Iberian folks, but they love socialism too much.
To me, next to the Anglos would be East Asians. In fact, going forward, I prefer them to the West because they don't promote truancy and disorderliness in society. I hate it when elites condone criminality in the society.
lastkingsman: Even Elon musk is complaining. One of the guys behind this is Gorge Soros and his open border advocacy.
Well, considering Elon's history as someone who grew up in Apartheid South Africa, he should be worried. Imagine enjoying the privileges as a white man in Apartheid South Africa, then relocating to a white-dominated country only to see your group losing its dominance gradually? If na you, you no go worry?
As for Soros, I have read about his plans as written by those GOP folks. I am just interested in seeing him apply similar policies or tactics to developed countries in East Asia or Asia generally.
IbeOkehie: knowledge of their lives and circumstances inform my argument that living in the Anglo-West is likely to produce better outcomes for the average person.
But wait ✋️....you live in Japan? Say wetin?
Good Luck to Nigerians.
Yes, I live in Japan.
I am curious, why does the Democratic Party love aiding and abetting criminals? Why are they so notorious for proposing weak laws? Then, when it backfires, they accuse the GOP of mumbo-jumbo. This is a party that initiated, promoted and espoused "sanctuary cities", but now complains after they got a floodload of immigrants in their cities. The policies they create and implement do more harm than good. I have never come across a policy the Democratic Party has enacted which promotes prosperity and safety.
As for your comment about this year's election. Well, I no fit lie, I saw the future that there would be civil unrest in the US largely because of uncontrolled immigration, high wave of crimes, and a decline in the white population in the country. Once whites lost numerical majority, the country is toast!
RickyJesus: It's silly to measure ones intelligent by the politicians they voted for. Don't be naive.
Use your mental superiority to bring back GEJ's economic growth rates. You people like dodging your irresponsibility where you voted for a man whose livelihood defied basic economic and biological principles.
Tinubu's economic ministers have confessed GEJ era had high economic growth, but a random RickyJesus believes I should rate people who campaigned and voted for Buhari in 2015 to be intelligent?!
ValCon888: I'm currently in the US. It's undoubtedly the best if you can get here.
But the stress of getting a US visa is most likely the hardest amongst the countries you mentioned.
Why don't you try Saint Kitts and Nevis? Their passport is strong, allowing you to travel to 158 countries visa-free including the UK.
Visa free travel majorly favours business people, not regular folks.
Gerrard59: From my research so far, visa-free travel is not really a major benefit compared to working rights. A German passport allows one access to the Swiss labour market. A Mexcian, Singaporean, Australian and Chilean passport affords one access to the US labour market without the hassle. International students in the US have a 1 in 3 chance of getting the H1B visa. A major reason firms don't like employing foreigners as the process of employing them takes so much time. The same applies to Canada, where there is LMIA rule for candidates outside the country. However, Chileans and Peruvians can access the job market without being subjected to the same requirement. An American can access the job market too, but largely useless as the US economy produces too many jobs.
So, in that case, Peruvian and Chilean passports are stronger than British. Visa free is highly beneficial if one has many business interests across the major economic hubs. But for a skilled worker, getting a Peruvian passport over a British one is better. You can easily naturalise in Spain and access the EU job market with the Peruvian passport. In fact, Venezuela as economically terrible as it is, an intelligent citizen can move to Spain, spend two years and become a citizen. Then move to Switzerland to find work, which is way easier than a non-EU/EEA citizen who needs to hope that there are companies willing to transfer him/her amidst 4,500 work visas per year or international students who have only six months to look for work after graduating from Swiss universities.
As for the Caribbean, better Grenada than St Nevis. Grenada leads to the EB2 abi EB3 visa to work and invest in the US. Your aim in life should be majorly economics. Look for the greatest ways to maximise economic opportunities.
IbeOkehie: Fulani militias are killing Christians in the Middle Belt.
Igbo people were beaten for daring to vote in Lagos. Ever heard of the Apo 6 in Abuja, six young Igbos killed and the known killer hasn't been arrested till this very day.
I could go on and on. Tribalism in Nigeria is much worse than racism in Europe or North America. And the worst thing is in Nigeria you still have to suffer through a terrible economy on top of it all.
Those footballers get paid very well to endure. They'll be fine 🙂
Enjoy your Nigeria. I'm done with that country, thanks.
Good Luck to Nigerians.
The ogbonti of a Nairalander is more bothered about being thrown a banana in wealthy Europe than blacks being slaughtered by fellow blacks, all in the name of religion in the world's most populous black nation. Let me state it clearly: In Nigeria, Christians are more likely to die than in China or North Korea. Yes, North Korea. More Christians were butchered in Nigeria than in North Korea. A Christian from Borno state would live a longer and peaceful life in Northern Japan - a country with less than 2% Christians.
So, when ignoramuses scream about racism in wealthy countries o, they forget the toxic and deadly discrimination in poorer nations. The worst form of discrimination is when it is done by poor people in a poor country. It can be bitter and fatal.
When I am asked what do I think of racism in Japan: My answer is simple: I am an Igbo man, and racism doesn't concern me. A longer explanation is that: I rather live with racists in a wealthy country than with tribalists in the world's poverty capital!
Gerrard59: Anytime I read the bold from Africans, esp Nigerians, I shake my head. People who trade in tribalism used it to flog other people who went to vote, exterminate communities because the indigenes are of a different ethnic group, and many more are suddenly worried about racism. Tribalism is way worse than racism because you both are of the same race aka share the same skin colour. The annoying thing about the tribalism is the privation bedevilling both people. People wey poverty don nack their head pass talking drum dey carry tribalism for head like gala. A South Korean and Japanese might have issues because of their histories, but both persons are citizens of rich countries. Somewhere in Africa, two people go get problem even if their ethnic groups never had one historically, but these people are both poor. Most of them inhale generator fumes for a living. Others don turn camel because of fuel at N700. Tomorrow, they want to japa and are bothered about racism.
Nansense!
As always, better to reside with racists in a prosperous land than live with tribalists in the world's poverty capital. If you must discriminate against others, ensure you're prosperous at global levels.
Lionessza6: 4. Why are majority of you dirt poor in a land of plenty and in a full black country? This is throughout Africa btw.
How is communism going to create wealth for black people when it's against property rights and capitalism ( only loving capitalism for the rich and politically connected)? You don't create wealth through dictatorship, you promote better access to quality education, skills development and access to business funding. Naturally those who are job creators will rise from the rest and those who should be employed will take their place as well. You cannot make any place equal as humans can never be equal. Simply create a conducive environment and a level playing ground and people will be where their efforts put them at. Not all this rubbish of attempting to make everyone equally poor. Loser mentality from empty heads.
Never take anyone, let alone a black man, seriously who espouses communism. I find them to be very unintelligent and stoopid, just like OP and his ilks. Communism and socialism lead to poverty, as exemplified by the countries in Africa which practice at varying levels.
RickyJesus: Where is your evidence that things won't have been worst if Jonathan continuous?
It is apparent you campaigned and voted for Buhari in 2015. As a result, I don't consider you to be an intelligent person. So, the first four years, let alone eight years, of Buhari's tenure wasn't enough to tell you that Buhari was and is an incompetent feudalist?!
IbeOkehie: European countries tend to be tribally or religiously homogeneous or at least have a DOMINANT group. For example, the UK has 4 tribes but the English are 85% of the population. So generally what the English want is what will happen.
Nigeria has had no decisively dominant group... the Muslims are gradually getting there by building a RELIGIOUS dominance.
Because of the nascent Islamic dominance, there can be no resistance. What the Muslims want is what will happen. If a General Election is held again today, Tinubu will still win, at least APC will definitely win.
Good Luck to Nigeria.
While ethnical or religious or racial dominance is a factor, another aspect is the characteristics of that dominant group. Not all groups are equal, some are more equal than others. The dominant group has to be pragmatic, egalitarian, enterprising, preference for the rule of law, secular and hold people to integrity without fear or favour. It also helps if the dominant group is less belligerent, but this can appear as cowardice in the eyes of enemy groups.
Some groups have all of them, while some have few. No ethnic group in Nigeria has all.
IbeOkehie: Ahhh, so you're a Federal Rep? Interesting! Good to know some of you are in here. And. British citizen too. No wonder nothing is working in that country....so many people in government have dual citizenship.
In Pakistan the entire Parliament has dual citizenship. See where they are now, that may be where Nigeria is also heading.
Good Luck to Nigeria.
Another one is DrAkpa who is an Austrailian. There is no Nigerian elite who has only the Nigerian passport. Some folks who envisaged Tinubu's ascendancy to presidency went through Express Entry or sponsored their families to get it. Others are currently doing the UK or Canadian route. Literally, none of his appointees have just the Nigerian passport. If they don't have that of Western countries, they have PRs in the UAE. There is a reason Henley and Partners opened a Lagos office, and I think has a representative in Abuja as well.
IbeOkehie: Let's be clear about what I'm saying. Every Nigerian living in the USA is not doing better than every Nigerian living in Nigeria. I'm not living better than my two friends in Nigeria who earn $1K per day working on oil rigs. One of them drives a Burgatti or something in that country, I'm not at that level so I don't even know the proper name of the car.
What we can be sure of is that if you gather 1,000 random ILLEGAL Nigerian immigrants in the USA and take pick 1,000 random Nigerians living in Nigeria and follow them for 10 years, 20 and 30 years, the ones based in the USA will have better HDI than the ones in Nigeria.
Everyone starts their life at sone level. There's nothing shameful about starting at the bottom. I've seen Nigerians and Africans generally come to this country illegally and start from ZERO and achieve a lot over 30 years, I've seen children born and grow up in this USA, get Good Luck to Nigerians.
I really love your illustration of data in your posts, This is something most Nigerians fail to do. They love to use anecdotal points during a debate when that is not a reflection of the entire concept or society. Casting 1000 random illegal Nigerian folks in the US vs 1000 random people in Nigeria would show the true picture of whether it pays to remain in Nigeria or emigrate.
immortalcrown: It is not by selling Multichoice or changing the name like Nigerian political parties.
Multichoice may end like Nokia. The billing is very high and very unfair. Pay-as-you-view model is the only way out for Multichoice, and it is the fair model for subscribers.
Someone who goes to work during the day and stays at home only at night shouldn't pay monthly subscription. How many hours in the month does the person have to watch TV? This is the scam MTN used on Nigerians until Glo came. MTN rejected billing per second. But in less than a month after Glo came with billing per second, MTN quickly started billing per second.
PAYV actually costs a lot. I thought with the influx of Nigerians into the UK, people would have known this by now?
rayopt: Most yall just act like many Nigerians are really suffering. Lol. Unilorin students dey on Gen overnight like everyday. And trust me, it is not what you think for all of them. The dollar rate is actually favoring some people tho if you ain't lazy.
Na true. The way to out-earn the sufferings in Nigeria is to earn in dollars. Crack your head and earn in dollars.
NAC1666: Says who. I warned government from unifying the CBN rate and the black market rate. Which sane country operates two different BDC and aspect it currency to still have value?
Let's dissect your unfounded post one by one.
Solution is,1. Arrest all the black market BDC and charge them to court for economic sabotage.
Your buddy dictator Buhari could not do it as that would be illegal. We are not in a military regime.
2. Only the commercial banks to be allowed to operate BDC.
Not true. There exists exchanger spots in different parts of the world not owned by banks. Why should Nigeria be different? Anyone should be allowed to change the naira or vice versa to any currency of his/her choice anywhere in the country, which must not necessarily be a bank.
3.Nigeria should stop importing fuel especially now Dangote has started production
. Dangote is selling at global prices. So, the savings from buying from Dangote is strictly logistical. Dangote would not sell to NNPC at below prevailing market prices o. I don't know where you got that info from.
4. Nnpc should be disbanded and all the various chairmen be arrested for failure to remit into the federation Account for almost 3years.
Mission impossicant. BTW, NNPC chiefs cannot be corrupt without the involvement of senior government officials. Who was the Minister of Petroleum under Buhari's administration? You people over-rate your elites.
5.The NPF should be empowered to arrest any individual spending dollar or holding dollars inside the country.
See above. The major spenders of dollars are your elites. When did elites start arresting elites? Who bought delegates' votes with dollars?
6. All transactions of international trade should be done by the banks whereby money will be transferred from Nigeria banks to any Part of the world where it's needed.
This has always been the policy ab initio. How else do you think international transaction are made? Via OPay?
It's not a rocket science to make the naira strong, just common sense
The naira cannot be strong and, in fact, ought not to be strong. Nigeria does not need a strong naira. South Korean Won and Japanese Yen are very weak. It is common to read billions and trillions of Won and Yen, whereas these sums are millions in dollars. Is Nigeria better than any of those East Asian countries?
MasterTeeUSA: Even flights to Naija from US UK don increase like ...a it's not only from Nigeria...thank God for some low cost airline...no food, you pay for each luggage, no movies and all...but they only do certain routes US to UK...the rise in flight prices na everywhere o
Isn't that dependent on seasons? Say Christmas rather than now? If I, as a resident in the abroad, book a flight to Nigeria to fly by, say, March or May, shouldn't it be cheaper than doing so while in Nigeria?
