Simply because they cannot recreate that wealth abroad.
The majority of a country's wealthy always reside in the country they come from. It is their dominant environment. Nothing about creating wealth. It is simple mathematics. There are more wealthy Nigerians living in Nigeria than elsewhere.

I know oil & gas engineers paid in dollars who have migrated away from Nigeria.

I know high level officers of foreign oil & gas companies who reached retirement age on their job...at director level...and chose to live out their retirement in UK and USA.

If you add regular workers in the industry who were making a comfortable naira salary the number is huge. I know one person in this class that SHOCKED me recently by leaving Nigeria.
While these statistics are interesting, and I resonate with why they left, most wealthy Nigerians live in the country. Obviously, that is a small minority, but it is the reality.

Nigeria is not a nice place to live. Nigerian culture is just bad.
To a great extent, that is true.

The infrastructure is sub-par.
True.

The weather is hot and humid.
So are Malaysia and Singapore, but most citizens there are not interested in leaving. In fact, their elites don't have dual nationality. On that aspect, they are better off than Nigerian elites. There are Japanese, Americans, Indians, Chinese and Singaporeans in Malaysia. The difference between Malaysia and Nigeria is infrastructural development and economic prosperity. If Nigeria were like Malaysia, it would have made much difference.

Mass poverty has made the populace generally ignorant, nasty, desperate and cruel. Most Nigerians only see other people as targets for fraud, nothing else.
Agreed.

Positives for a rich dollar earner are cheap and easy sex, availability of cheap servant labour and worship from the mass of poor people who pretend to respect the rich.
True. The black woman's breasts and well-marinated pussy are heaven made on earth.

Many have weighed the options and made the choice to migrate. Where they don't migrate they send their children abroad. And most ultra high net worth Nigerians you THINK live in Nigeria actually live abroad and commute into Nigeria. This I know for a fact. Europe is a 6 hour flight away, North America 12 hours. Some of these people spend enough time in NY to qualify as residents for tax purposes.
True. No Nigerian elite has just the Nigerian passport. They have passports of the EU and North American countries. I see a growing number possessing Brazilian and Mexican passports in the future.

What OP needs is a job where you learn how a structured business operates. Do so for at least three years, save then decide which path to take (entrepreneurship or career progression).

Wealth doesn't come overnight. The problem with most youths these days is that they want to invest in a business today and become a millionaire in a couple of days, without possessing the creativity to make wealth. It doesn't work that way.

If you meet most wealthy people in Nigeria today (dangote inclusive) they would tell you that consistency and dedication is what catapulted them to the position they're today. They laboured consistently for years nurturing their business until it grew beyond their expectation.

Whatever business you choose to venture into, if you want to be successful in it, you must stand out from the majority.
Apart from continuous capital infusion, everything you have said is the truth. It takes time to build wealth. It involves a lot of delayed gratification, planning, new ideas, trial and error, persistence, determination, hard work etc. The worse is when Nigerians come online to ask how much profit they will make a day after investing so so and so amount. Our people mistake revenues (not yet break-even sef) for profits. Another one is using the revenues they generate to build a house. grin

It's the other way round, it's a responsible man that's hard to find for a serious relationship. Too much lies and dirty lifestyle you notice in most of them is even discouraging ladies from dating......... Abeg let me face my job and be working hard to take good care of myself and not be running helter-skelter after men.

Give your life to christ and live a righteous life you will get the best lady for you
I am genuinely interested, what are the dirty lifestyles and lies you or your friends see in young Nigerian men that are discouraging?
RomanceRe: Why Is It So Hard To Find A Lady For A Serious Relationship by Gerrard59(m): 2:24am On Feb 17, 2024
My advice: you need to be friends from a platonic point of view. Sex distorts how you see a person especially if it is done continuously. You begin to disregard certain principles because of it, which is bad since you are aiming for marriage. You need to see people for who they are from an unbiased POV. Check the female friends you have and assess them from a strictly platonic POV.

Don't go and become the boyfriend of a woman who doesn't offer you commitment/fidelity. That is a loss. You are becoming responsible, but collecting zero benefits. Most importantly, you need to either move out to your personal apartment or get somewhere suitable for your mom. Ever since I read through the comments of a Facebook post where almost all women preferred a man who earns 150K per month living in a self con over a businessman who lives with his immediate family, I knew that women don't like being with men who houses his mother/sisters.
RomanceRe: Why Is It So Hard To Find A Lady For A Serious Relationship by Gerrard59(m):
franchasofficia:
If truly you are ready to settle down or start a serious relationship, I will advice you not to tell any girl or lady you meet that you want a serious relationship.

Start toasting girls everywhere and anywhere you go, online and offline, become shameless in approaching any girl you fancy. Don't talk about relationship, talk about hanging out, Nigerian girls love hanging out more than their own life, from hanging out, assume the position of her boyfriend without asking her out, remember to act like mumu by giving her free money and stuffs whenever you can, Nigerian ladies love free money and things a lot and if you cant give them, it will be hard to get most of them unless you are a famous music star.
I am sorry, but I find that to be distasteful. There is nothing wrong with chasing women, but giving them free money in a bid for them to like you as a man is terrible. You don't spoil women to like you, but you spoil the woman who likes you. What you have described is basically buying love. What about when the money finishes? He has financial issues like the Tinubu economy is doing people? Why should money be the image he offers to women?

You have written elsewhere that men, especially those abroad, should not put a false financial image of themselves. So, why are you advising men to give free money to women in a bid to get them to like you? When the money no dey again nko? If a man cannot get a woman to genuinely like him for who he is, rather than the free money he doles out, he better remain single.

After a few hang outs, invite her to know your place and then be bold to make attempt to kiss or romance her, if she rejects don't fret, apologize and let go, while you try next time, after one or two or three trials, she will definitely agree, and once she agrees, don't listen to relationship experts writing theories, make love to her and from there she will become serious with you. If she rejects your intimacy advances and also reject kissing and romancing, discard her immediately and delete her contacts and move on to others.
Make she carry the man go Twitter say the man wan rape am? shocked Besides, such cannot work with all women as some women would insist on a defined relationship before sexual intercourse.

Stop begging girls for relationship, do what you are supposed to do as explained above and assume the position of their boyfriend.
The bold is the only thing he should do. But he should not assume the position of a boyfriend. That is a loss. He would be responsible but never get the benefits. He is paying to a system he gets no benefits from. Why should he assume the position of her boyfriend when he is not her boyfriend? Do you know the responsibilities attached to the position of a boyfriend to a Nigerian lady? huh

Unfortunately most Nigerian girls will never take you serious for a relationship until you have had good sex with them. While doing that remember to keep constant communication via Whatsapp chats and calls, but avoid being a pest or bug on her, always give her space to miss you after you have done your own part
Na hook up be this na. grin grin grin For this to happen, he would be charged money after each visit/round. No woman offers sex for free. The man must pay.

I honestly don't get it likewise, it seems the better a guy gets, the more girls drift away.

It is strange, really strange. Nigerian girls are drawn to touts more than responsible guys.
That is a lie!

Say you are more attracted to such women, rather than labelling Nigerian girls as such. The ladies I know would never have anything to do with a tout or irresponsible folks! Never! Maybe while in school, they mingled with them because it was an academic environment. But as of now? Big Hell No!

Change your circle of women or actually be responsible. I find it hard to believe that a responsible man gets irresponsible women as admirers. That is not true and goes against basic biological principles.

That's bad

If you didn't help this business man to subsidize his purchases and expenses, if you didn't give him the capital to set up or to operate, you have no rights to force him to sell at a particular price.

But this will always backfire, as more owners lock up or transfer their goods, or go underground, the goods will enter black market, and everyone who really needs it will pay triple the cost, at the point of death.

Buharri tried that in 1984, someone should please remind me how that matter ended?

At the bolded; that's just a low blow and a demented view on painting a picture with zero idea of what the person is offline while hoping those word will on some way have any effect on the person, very pathetic.
So my posts are gibberish when describing Buhari, not the ill-fated policies of his administration? shocked

Why do most Nigerians hate the truth, for crying out loud?! Buhari was thoroughly incompetent, and those who campaigned and voted for him in 2015 were thoroughly unintelligent. I am unapologetic about that stance! Some even voted for him in 2019, and some actually did the same thing in 2007 and 2011!

But one random RickyJesus is pained that I maintain that stance?!!!!

So saying Buhari is incompetent makes me a tribalist, but Buhari, who described the southeast as a "dot", isn't? The same man who proclaimed that "dogs and baboon will be soaked in blood" and was begged to call to order his irate and blood-sucking supporters in 2011 after they had slaughtered corp members across the north. Buhari did not respond to the pleas from international observers until THREE DAYS LATER! That is the man a prolific Eccrine gland secretor says I am a tribalist for lampooning.

How can you enjoy a place with no light, dirty beaches that's not free, no free museum, architecture, library, etc?

And a preventable situation such as bad roads, dumb police officers and bad medical care can kill you in an instant?

Also, your money can only go far in a functioning society. It takes me about 20euros to fly from Amsterdam to the Spanish islands in Africa (Gran Canaria) , but can same amount take you from Lagos to Abuja by flight?

But the majority of wealthy Nigerians live in Nigeria. It is actually a standard thing to do - the wealthy set of people reside in their dominant society. These two don dey used to suffer, they can withstand the social and economic shocks. Not so much for the Western without excessive borrowing and quantitative easing aka print money anyhow.
