Are you for reals? Why is it that way? Even on tourist visa?
Yes, even on tourist visa (assuming it's approved), an average West African will be throughly questioned at the Botswana airport. Namibia and Botswana have freakingly high unemployment rates. Check their job boards, the most recent jobs are three weeks old. That's not so on LinkedIn Brazil and Mexico.

People should judge countries by the size of their economies and availability of jobs using LinkedIn. Brazil is better off than any country in black Africa for a university educated black African who is willing to learn Portuguese.

I agreed with you. For the fact a country can travel to another country visa free or visa on arrival does not make such a country better than a country that does not. Mexicans can travel to most countries visa free or visa on arrival ]even Canada and most European countries but same Mexicans are climbing fence to come pick tomatoes in farms across US.
While traveling is awesome and an eye opener but it does not worth risking your life for. For very store-away that live to tell his stories, hundreds ain't fortunate enough to be alive to recant their ordeal.
I will always encourage people to travel but not at the risk to your lives no life no get duplicate ooo
Uneducated Mexicans* You have to be specific. A university educated Mexican doesn't need to jump the borders to the US just to work when there is TN visa to apply through and get working rights in the US. Someone from the Sokoto area of Mexico cannot be compared to another from the Rivers state of Mexico. A black African who has at least a BSc, holds the Mexican passport and speaks Spanish has more ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES in Mexico than in most African countries. That's an undeniable fact. Why is this hard to accept? There are more jobs posted on LinkedIn Mexico than LinkedIn South Africa and Nigeria combined. That's a fact. I didn't create them from my yansh.

Regarding visa free access, that's actually a good way to judge how economically buoyant a country is. Check the countries that are members of the US Visa Waiver Program, they are prosperous. No poor country is a member of the VWP. Again, that's an undeniable fact. It's right there on Google. You people have lied countless times here, and I won't accept it.

Frankly speaking, I think Gerrard.d59 is too biased towards Brazil.

Brazil is stuck in the Middle Income trap. For it to become an advanced nation, it needs to implement a number of reforms such as make its labour force more flexible, reduce endemic red tape, end a maddening array of taxes and cut the overgenerous pensions which creates a huge hole in government finances. The list goes on.

The fact that Brazilians can travel visa free is not an indication of the strength of the Brazilian economy but an outcome of bullying. Brazil has a reciprocal policy of granting visa free travels or visas on arrivals only to countries that do the same to Brazilians. So, many advanced nations are forced to open their borders to them. I know Brazilian do overstay in the UK but I do not know if they do the same in other parts of Europe.
I'm not biased towards Brazil. My point is simple: Brazil is better off than every black African country. That's an undeniable fact.

Regarding the bold, if Brazil wasn't rich, she won't be able to "bully" others. After all, Brazil doesn't enjoy visa free access to the US.

That's an Agbadorian. One of the rarest Igbos on Nairaland who is proud to identify as an Agbadorian. BTW, most of the people supporting construction projects in the South East are abroad. If they were optimistic about Nigeria's future, they should have stayed back in Nigeria.

However, I do agree that Nigeria has opportunities to earn plenty money, but why don't Okoroemeka and his cohorts strive to earn this money all alone?! Why are they apprehensive when others want to japa?

That's the problem with illegal migration and not going to school. A black African who has a BSc and knows Portuguese or strives to learn it then move to Brazil to obtain a MSc degree would live a better life than in Africa.

That's an undeniable fact.

The people you met are illegal migrants or uneducated migrants who most likely don't have the Brazilian passport. A Brazilian passport holder can move to anywhere in the EU visa free. For a country to enjoy visa free access to EU nations means she is above middle class status.

When you people write these things, do well to explain the nitty-gritty of what you wrote.

Botswana in Southern Africa is heaven compared to Brazil.
Botswana has one of the highest unemployment rate in Africa. That's an undeniable fact. Please do some research. Also, Botswana is Apples to Oranges when compared to Brazil. Additionally, it's not easy to migrate to Botswana as a West African. In fact, I dare say it's easier to migrate to the UK as a Nigerian than to Botswana.

I am actually not comparing Brazil to Nigeria. Brazil is a developing country while Nigeria is consider underdeveloped country but crime rate and unemployment is prevalent in both countries. Do you know thousands of Brazilians travel to southern border of US to claim asylum yearly? They would have stayed in their country is Brazil is better as people make us believe.
Only fools will risk their lives to travel abroad cos wherever you're going, such a place has it challenges and you will not turn millionaires overnight just because you land for Europe or US. Traveling abroad is good but not at the expense of your life. They are beggar in the street of New York so they say.

If you used Western standards to judge diversity, then yes, I think the Western model is wrong. Racism is just a deep part of their culture, making it seems like races cant coexist harmoniously. Lots of countries by makeup are heterogenous by default.

I honestly would like to spend a day in the mind of such women. \

I just want to feel how one could be so delusional, think the world revolves around her, sees herself as too important, and is not even conscious of the fact that she is a problem and a liability to any man she associates with.

Can't even phantom the fact that her excessive makeup and camera filters will not hide the ugly character inside of her, and is not even bothered with understanding how men (not simps) see her, and what they want in a woman.

Any scientist in the house? please invent a possibility to experience what it is like to live in the mind of such a woman for at least a day. What attention (from foolish men) does to a woman. Makes some stupid. Very stupid.
I think they equate the dopamine derived via TikTok and Instagram to mean genuine attraction. Forgetting that a man's preek has a different brain from the rest of the body. The men who get "attracted" to her do it mainly for sex, nothing else. This is the other half of hook up babes - they don't just have sense. The other half know what they are in for - money - and know why men are moved to them.

Additionally, the quality of men they finally settle with (assuming they settle in a two-parent household) leaves much to be desired. All men are not equal. No doubt even prudish ladies don't end up with billionaires, but stability and having a good head on one's shoulders is very important. Ultimately, her presence makes the world round. If every woman is smart, homely and upright, this world for no too balance.

The world needs her type to even things out.

BigYash:
Nobody is saying they shouldn't marry, but why must they be entitled?
How does a woman saying she wants to be married connote entitlement?

My major question there is,why do they see marriage as poverty alleviation scheme?
In poor countries, marriage has always been a poverty alleviation scheme. Nigeria is a poor country.

Because when you interview most of them, they'll tell you they want a man who has money and can take care of them. Is it a crime ,if they take care of themselves or even the man?
Women are hypergamous. That is how they are worldwide. Every woman wants a man who can provide. From Bolivia to Zambia, from Norway to Taiwan - women aspire/wish/plan to marry men who can provide.

These same gender preaches gender equality on TVs,radio, everywhere. And there is also a saying that, what a man can do,a woman can do better
Gender equality is a scam. Take this from an erstwhile male feminist. It is the greatest scam ever witnessed. It goes against biology and nature. It is why men are revolting, because the scam has made women believe they can enjoy rights without responsibilities. They want men to be as traditional as ever, but want to be modern at the same time.

Why can't they work better and spend better in a relationship, like men does?
They are hypergamous. There was research in a Nordic country - the epitome of gender equality - which found out that women opted for less lucrative fields even when there were no barriers to entering highly lucrative fields. Most women would rather stay home and collect money from men rather than work. Na distortion of the global economy, overpopulation, limited resources etc., don change everything.

You are right.

No African country will grow with democracy. Even the West was not democratic during its developing stage, and even now, it is still not democratic.

I can go on and on, but you get the gist
Benevolent dictatorships can work in places that are homogenous and have pragmatic cultural practices. Benevolent dictatorship cannot work in heterogeneous countries with varying cultures, religions and belief systems. Around the world, the most prosperous countries are those which have similar cultures, dominant or single racial groups, practice capitalism and have pragmatic cultural practices. In return, amongst wealthier nations, those which are homogenous tend to be the safest. Norway is safer than the UK. South Korea is safer than France. Even in less wealthier nations that are homogenous, they have less crime rates than their counterparts which are heterogeneous and have dogmatic cultures. Namibia is way better off than Somalia. Zambia is better off than Ethiopia.

Diversity is not really a good thing as some people opine. And if a society must be diverse, certain people should be barred from being part of that society.

Many reasons. Many, many reasons.

1. Drug trafficker who was one step from getting caught. He had to “run back to his village” as Nigerians are prone to after committing crimes.

2. Naija boy who got mixed with a foreign woman. She kicked him out of his house with nothing but the handbag he held. All his belongings are in the country under her control. He mentally lost his will and came back home where men control everything.

3. Yahoo boy who felt his juju was about to run out. No time for unnecessary load, come home, get it renewed then return.

4. A struggling Nigerian who decided to visit home. No time to form anything unnecessary. Stay home for about a month or two then return to the brutal life of menial jobs in obodo oyibo.

5. A Nigerian wanted for a crime. We’ve seen idiots repeatedly run home after committing crimes. Burna boy too. The long arm of the law may catch him eventually.

6. A relative was terminally ill. No be belongings the person go chop when physical presence is the main koko.

My favourite which normally happens to Nairalanders.

7. Civilization nearly killed him. Having all the amenities of a working nation overwhelmed him. He couldn’t stand a soft life. Struggle is hard-coded in his DNA
All possibilities but the bold wins it!

I honestly think new laws should be created for these embassies in Nigeria busy rejecting Visa applications, to refund the applicants money. You don't want them in your country then return their application fee. With that they will think twice before rejecting applications. It's painful to be rejected more than twice and more painful with the money gone forever
A visa is a privilege, not a right. However, there are countries where the application fee is paid only after the visa has been issued. Japan is an example. However, if the applicant gets denied the visa, the applicant is ineligible to apply for any kind of visa for the next six months.

Hi All,

I’m really in need of assistance from anyone who has experienced or words of advise on the emotional trauma I’m encountering at the moment.

I’m married to a EU National in the UK with kids and finally joined her from Nigeria 4 years ago and got my residence permit. She has a 22 year old daughter who returned from the US and started living with us.
It’s like she came from hell and has been a torn in my flesh, she’s disrespectful, arrogant, practising all manner of spiritualism in my home that I pay 70% on, burning all kinds of candles and incense.

She doesn’t even work and depends on money from her mother, spending it lavishly. I had a quarrel with her once after an argument and just let her do her things without saying a word to her anymore. She doesn’t even greet me in the morning, now brings boys to my home to sleep with and does all manner of nonsense in my living room., that I don’t even want to sit and watch tv or do anything there anymore.

The mother have started her own by acting strange. She sleeps in a different room, not even had sex with her for weeks now and requested I bring 100% of what I was giving her before for the house keep, despite I’m buying my own stuffs.

I’m here because I don’t really know what to do anymore. I feel lonely, alone and at times regretting coming over to the UK.
I’m keeping my cool cos of my immigration status and would really need help at the moment as I’m dying psychologically and don’t know whom I am anymore.

Thanks for reading!!!!!

This is one of the disadvantages of marrying a single Mom. I'm sure you married her because she was based in the Europe. Men, learn to work hard and be the Man of the house. Stop looking for already made women. They'll only use you.

She's wicked enough for bringing another man's child into your matrimonio home and very heartless for denying you your marital rights because of the same daughter issues. This simply shows she calls the shots in the marriage because of her position.
When you both write home/house, does it mean OP OWNS the house they are living in? As far as I am concerned unless the house is in his name, it is not his. That phrase is being abused. As it is, OP does not own anything tangible asset.

Secondly, it is her child. Whether another man bore her, the child's mother has the right to there. Just because she married a black African man does not mean she cannot visit her mom again.

So either the West up their game and develop Africa, or China/Russia will do it, either way, it is a win-win for Africa. But the West has lost. Their history with Africa is so dark that no amount of propaganda, or brainwashing can clean.

Also, their argument while they support Ukraine is on the premise of territorial integrity and national sovereignty, that every country has the right to seek its own developmental path.

So it would be hypocritical to prevent Africans from aligning with China for example. So yes, living life as a liar and hypocrite is difficult because it is only a matter of time before situations will arise that will expose your hypocrisy.

The west is in for a long one. So either they drop the hegemonic behavior that they are used to and get onboard with the new world, or engage in an exercise in futility by trying to hold on to what's left of their imperialism, which will make them go down faster.
Any update from the begi-begi by the US to China?

From my understanding, the Chinese are holding on well enough and only need to maintain at least 4-5% GDP growth rate. As for helping Africa, I am not too sure about the reports that the new Keyna president sidelined the Chinese from investments and trade. Countries that align with China tend to benefit via TRADE deals not LGTV and military bases. Ecuador got free trade while Malaysia got $10BN investment from Geely. Brazil also got investments. Compare this to Phillippines which got an extra military base or Uruguay being angry that upon the priase she gets from America, it has not translated into trade deals and investments. Now, she is turning to China. One of the reasons I applaud Tinubu is sticking with the Chinese. Although his ethnic group tends to benefit the most.

Judging from history, China will invest in African countries and allow us to develop provided we play our part by actually making judicious use of the investments and upholding basic legal agreements that form the bedrock of a developing society. She has the companies, capital, technical know-how etc. Na for we to play our part. If we miss out or disappoint China, na we fvck up. As long as I am concerned, the West is comfortable in seeing sub-Saharan Africa remain in multidimensional poverty.

You have to divide it by the population, to have the GDP per capita, for better comparison.
