Politics › Southern Leaders Slam N50bn Suit Against Buhari, allege Marginalization Of Region by Gjrich(op): 9:25am On Jun 23, 2020
Sixteen elder statesmen and leaders of socio-cultural groups in the southern region of Nigeria, on Monday, dragged President Muhammadu Buhari before the Federal High Court in Abuja, alleging that most appointments since the inception of his administration in 2015 were in breach of the 1999 Constitution and the Federal Character Principle.

The plaintiffs, led by Chief Edwin Clark, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, Dr John Nnia Nwodo, Dr Pogu Bittus, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Alaowei Bozimo, Mrs Sarah Doketri, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife and Air Commodore Idongsit Nkanga, alleged that the Southern region had been deliberately marginalized by the President Buhari-led government.

They are also praying the court to, among other things, determine whether it was not “reckless and adverse to the interest of Nigeria”, for President Buhari to obtain a loan facility from the Islamic Development Bank, African Development Bank, the World Bank, China, Japan, and Germany amounting to $22.7 billion (USD), for infrastructural development, only to allocate the bulk of the fund to the Northern region.

They are seeking a declaration that the loan facility purportedly for infrastructural development (wherein less than 1% of the amount is to be allocated to the South East Zone of Nigeria for specific infrastructural development) violates section 16 (1) (a) (b) and S16 (2) (a) (b) (c) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

They urged the court to award N50billion against the defendants to represent punitive, aggravated and exemplary damages to the constituents of the plaintiffs for the illegal, wrongful discriminatory and unconstitutional acts committed by the 1st defendant against the people of the plaintiffs’ states and geopolitical zones.

Meanwhile, Justice Okon Abang has fixed July 10 to hear the case, even as he directed Chief Ozekhome (SAN), who represented the plaintiffs on Monday, to serve the court processes on all the defendants.

Politics › Rise And Fall Of Lawrence Anini:the Man Who Became General Babangida Nightmare by Gjrich(op): 10:20pm On Jun 21, 2020
Nigeria would never forget the rise and brutal execution of one of the most terrific human being to have ever walked on its shores 33 years ago, the notorious bandit who terrorised Benin City and old Bendel State the 80s , Lawrence Nomanyagbon Anini A.K.A. “Ovbigbo” or “the Law” and some members of his gang were executed by firing squad after being convicted by the defunct Bendel Armed Robbery and Firearms Tribunal presided over by Justice James Omo-Agege.

Anini was born in a village about 20 miles from Benin City in present-day Edo State. He migrated to Benin at an early age, learned to drive and became a skilled taxi driver. Anini became known in Benin motor parks as a man who could control the varied competing interests among motor park touts and operators. He later dived into the criminal business in the city and soon became a driver and transporter for gangs, criminal godfathers and thieves. Later on, he decided to create his own gang which included, Monday Osunbor, Friday Ofege, Smallie ,Henry Ekponwan, Eweka and Alhaji Zed Zed or Zegezege who was never captured. They started out as car hijackers, bus robbers and bank thieves. Gradually, he extended his criminal acts to other towns and cities far north and east of Benin.

The complicity of the police is believed to have triggered Anini’s reign of terror in 1986. In early 1986, two members of his gang were tried and prosecuted against an earlier under-the-table ‘agreement’ with the police to destroy evidence against the gang members. The incident, and Anini’s view of police betrayal, is believed to have spurred retaliatory actions by Anini. In August, 1986, a fatal bank robbery linked to Anini was reported in which a police officer (Nathaniel Egharevba)and others were killed. That same month, two officers on duty were shot at a barricade while trying to stop Anini’s car. During a span of three months, he was known to have killed nine police officers.

In an operation in August 1986, the Anini team struck at First Bank, Sabongida-Ora, where they carted away N2,000. But although the amount stolen was seen as chicken feed, many persons were killed. On September 6, same year, the Anini gang snatched a Peugeot 504 car from Albert Otoe, the driver of the famous super cop Assistant Inspector General of Police, Christopher Omeben. In snatching the car, they killed the driver and went to hide his corpse somewhere. It was not until three months later that the skeleton of the driver was spotted 16 kilometers away from Benin City, along the Benin-Agbor highway. A day after this attack, Anini, operating in a Passat car believed to have been stolen, also effected the snatching of another Peugeot 504 car near the former FEDECO office, in Benin.

Two days later, the Anini men killed two policemen in Orhiowon Local Government of the state. Still in that month, three different robbery attacks, all pointing to Anini’s involvement, took place. They include the murder of Frank Unoarumi, a former employee of the Nigerian Observer newspapers; the killing of Mrs. Remi Sobanjo, a chartered accountant, and the stealing of the Mercedes Benz car in Benin, of the Ughelli monarch, the Ovie. Before September 1986 drew to a close, Anini struck at a gas station along Wire Road, Benin, where he stole a substantial part of the day’s sales. He shot the station’s attendant and gleefully started spraying his booty along the road for people to pick. The height of Anini’s exploits, however, took place on October 1, 1986, the Independence Day when the state’s Commissioner of Police, Casmir Akagbosu was ambushed by the gang in Benin riddled his convoy in a hail of bullets. The police boss survived the attacks with serious injuries. Earlier that day also, the Anini men had gunned down a police man within the city.

“The Law”, as he was nicknamed, during an operation that went bad reportedly had to escape from the police by driving in reverse for a greater part of the distance from Agbor (Delta State) to Benin City (Edo State).

Also, on October 21 of same year, the Anini robbery gang terminated the life of a Benin-based medical doctor, A.O Emojeve when they gunned him down along Textile Mill Road, in Benin. Not done, Anini and gang went and robbed the Agbor branch of African Continental Bank and carted away about N46, 000. A day after the operation, Anini, The Law, turned to a ‘Father Christmas’ as he strew wads of naira notes on the ground for free pick by market men and women at a village near Benin. Anini’s image thus loomed larger than life, dwarfing those of Ishola Oyenusi, the king of robbers in the 1970s and Youpelle Dakuro, the army deserter who masterminded the most vicious daylight robbery,at Boulous Enterprises in Lagos in 1978, in which two policemen were killed. Anini thus spearheaded a four-month reign of terror between August and December 1986. Anini also reportedly wrote numerous letters to media houses using political tones of Robin Hood-like words, to describe his criminal acts.

Worried by the seeming elusiveness of Anini and his gang members, the military President, General Ibrahim Babangida then ordered a massive manhunt for the kingpin and his fellow robbers. The police thus went after them, combing every part of Bendel State where they were reportedly operating and living. The whole nation was gripped with fear of the robbers and their daredevil exploits.

However, Police manhunt failed to stop their activities; the more they were hunted, the more intensified their activities became. Some of the locals in the area even began to tell stories of their invincibility and for a while, it felt like they were never going to be caught. However, at the conclusion of a meeting of the Armed Forces Ruling Council , the Nation’s then highest ruling body in October 1986, General Babangida turned to the Inspector- General of Police, Etim Inyang, and asked, ‘My friend, where is Anini?’ Apperently embarrassed, IGP Iyang could to only tell his Commander in Chief that “We are still looking for him sir”. IGP Iyang was soon tender his notice of retirement from the force.

At about this time, Nigerian newspapers and journals were also publishing various reports and editorials on the ‘Anini Challenge’, the ‘Anini Saga’, the ‘Anini Factor’, ‘Lawrence Anini – the Man, the Myth’, ‘Anini, and ‘Lawrence Anini: A Robin Hood in Bendel’. The Guardian New papers asked, emphatically, in one of its reports: ‘Will they ever find Anini, “The Law”?’.

An African Proverb says “everyday for the thief ,one day for the owner, Anini’s reign of terror was eventually brought to an end with his arrest by a police officer , Superintendent of Police, Kayode Uanreroro on December 3, 1986, at No 26, Oyemwosa Street, opposite Iguodala Primary School, Benin City, in company with six women. Acting on a tip-off from the locals, the policeman went straight to the house where Anini was hiding and apprehended him with very little resistance. Uanreroro led a crack 10-man team to the house, knocked on the door of the room, and Anini himself, clad in underpants, opened the door. “Where is Anini,” the police officer quickly enquired. It was believed that his girl friend had a hand in his arrest.

Many are of the opinion that the girlfriend collaborated with the police and took Anini’s charms away before the police arrived. Dazed as he was caught off guard and having no escape route, Anini all the same tried to be smart. “Oh, Anini is under the bed in the inner room”. As he said it, he made some moves to walk past Uanreroro and his team. In the process, he shoved and head-butted the police officer but it was an exercise in futility.

Uanreroro promptly reached for his gun, stepped hard on Anini’s right toes and shot at his left ankle. Anini surged forward but the policemen took hold of him and put him in a sitting position. They then pumped more bullets into his shot leg and almost severed the ankle from his entire leg. Already, anguished by the excruciating pains, the policemen asked him, “Are you Anini?” And he replied, “My brother, I won’t deceive you; I won’t tell you lie, I’m Anini.”

He was from there taken to the police command headquarters where the state’s Police Commissioner, Parry Osayande, was waiting. While in the police net, Anini who had poor command of English and could only communicate in pidgin, made a whole lot of revelations. He disclosed, for instance that Osunbor, who had been arrested earlier, was his deputy, saying that Osunbor actually shot and wounded the former police boss of the state, Akagbosu

Anini was shot in the leg, transferred to a military hospital, and had one of his legs amputated. That was after Monday Osunbor was also captured. When Anini’s hideout was searched, police recovered assorted charms, including the one he usually wore around his waist during “operations”. It was instructive that after Anini was captured and dispossessed of his charms, the man who terrorised a whole state and who was supposed to be fearless suddenly became so lilly livered and started singing like a sparrow, making confessions. This was against public expectation of a daredevil hoodlum who would remain defiant to the very end.

Shortly after the arrest of Anini and co, the dare-devil robbers began to squeal, revealing the roles played by key police officers and men, in the aiding and abetting of criminals in Bendel State and the entire. country. Due to the amputation of his leg, Anini was confined to a wheelchair throughout his trial.

Anini particularly revealed that Chief Supretendent of Police Iyamu, who was the most senior police officer shielding the robbers, would reveal police secrets to them and then, give them logistic supports such as arms, to carry out robbery operations.

He further revealed that Iyamu, after each operation, would join them in sharing the loot. It was further exposed how Iyamu planned to kill Christopher Omeben, an Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Intelligence and Investigation. But Iyamu was later to be disappointed as the assailants dispatched to eliminate Omeben were only able to kill his driver, Otue, a sergeant. Iyamu, whom the robbers fondly referred to as ‘Baba’, reportedly had choice buildings in Benin City; being how he invested the loots he obtained from men of the underworld. Iyamu, on his part, denied ever knowing and collaborating with Anini. But Anini stood his ground .Of the 10 police officers Anini implicated, five were convicted. The robbery suspects, including Iyamu, were sentenced to death.

But in passing his judgement, Justice Omo-Agege remarked, “Anini will forever be remembered in the history of crime in this country, but it would be of unblessed memory. Few people if ever, would give the name to their children.” The execution of Anini and the remaining members of his gang took place on the last Saturday of March ,1987. Osunbor and CSP Iyamu had been executed few weeks earlier.

Foreign Affairs › See Saudi Arabia Prince Who Has Been Sleeping For 14 Years In Coma. by Gjrich(op): 3:02pm On Jun 21, 2020
As for many who has not heard yet, the Prince of Saudi Arabia has been in coma for the past 14 years.

Popularly called the 'Sleeping Prince', Khaled bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the Saudi Arabia prince was 18 years old when he went unconscious following a car accident in London.

The incident which happened in 2005 took him into a coma and was hospitalized in a special health facility in Rihadh, Saudi Arabia.

It is reported that doctors resolved to detach the devices and life support machine but his father did not consent to the idea with hopes that something miraculous would happen and his son will be revived.

It was allegedly reported that the Sleeping Prince made a slight move of his head, as he turned from the right to the left side and back and his family rejoiced in hope that he will one day be fully restored to a normal state.

Its worth mentioning that the prince is a member of the Saudi Royal family born on 10 January, 1962; he is the full brother of prince Al Walled Bin Tahl.

His father once said "Allah who saved his soul for more than a decade now will bring him back to life".

We all pray that God will restore him back to life.

Politics › Buhari Didn’t Deserve Second Term — Northern Elders Forum, Prof Ango Abdullahi by Gjrich(op): 2:23am On Jun 21, 2020
Elder statesman and Chairman of the Northern Elders’ Forum, Prof Ango Abdullahi, who is also a former Vice-Chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, tells OLALEYE ALUKO about the worsening state of insecurity in the North, the zoning and power rotation arrangement between the North and South, among other issues.
The Presidency has blamed some traditional rulers for the worsening state of insecurity especially banditry in the North, do you agree with that assertion?

Are traditional rulers in charge of Nigeria’s soldiers, police and other security agencies? Why are monarchs being accused of not being able to stop banditry and other security problems? It is just a clear indication of the failure which I referred to in the statement I issued some days ago. For a long time now, we have been calling them out so that the masses will realise that this is a failed government; and we didn’t hide it before now. We said so and we gave reasons why we talked and insisted that this (Muhammadu) Buhari’s government did not worth re-electing. But Nigerians re-elected it and, as such, I don’t see why they should be complaining now. So I don’t know what the problem is. They (the government) have to find scapegoats. They have to find people to blame for failing to do their work. If you look at the constitution, traditional rulers are not meant to be in charge of our security. Are they? We know those who the chief security officers are and what instruments they have in their hands. Traditional rulers are not listed as officers under the constitution of this country. They can probably be asked for advice; and even on that, it is only on matters bordering on traditional issues. In my statement on Sunday, my points were very straightforward and I think there is no doubt.

Do you think state governors from other regions of the country should also set up a regional or community policing outfit like the Amotekun in the South-West?

If you read the law, state governors are loosely referred to as the chief security officers of their states. If you go into the nitty-gritty of who actually does security works, won’t you refer to the police and the army? The Police Commissioner in a state will not take instruction from the governor without referring to the Inspector-General of Police. So, it is really not the state governor that is effectively in charge of security matters in the state. Therefore, it is still the Police High Command that is responsible. As far as I am concerned, it is a loose talk to say that somebody is in charge of security – whether at the state or local government levels – when he is really not in command or in charge of the security apparatus in the state. On it (Amotekun), what have they (the governors) done? This is something that is always pronounced on paper. But we know that when the chips are down, those who are officially supposed to handle insecurity are the police. In fact, what perhaps they (the governors) are saying is that they are willing to assist the security agencies operating in their states in as many ways as possible. But they cannot with the current situation take over the duties of the army, police and so on. No, they cannot. It will just lead to more complications in the way things are being run in this country.

President Buhari is from the North-West where insecurity is currently on the rise, have you sought an audience with him on this issue of rising banditry and related killings?

Buhari is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; he is not the President of Daura; he is not the President of Katsina State. He is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with all the state security apparatus directly under his command. So, where he comes from is totally irrelevant to the discussion. The responsibility to secure every citizen from every part of the country rests on him. So, the question of the sentiments of his birthplace and so on does not arise at all. And in fact, if it had gone the other way, it would show he paid special attention to the areas of his birthplace. Why should you pay particular attention to your areas instead of every part of Nigeria that you are supposed to be presiding over? So all these excuses and arguments are not what the public should be paying attention to. The President is supposed to take advice from every Nigerian. He is supposed to listen to Nigerians. The fact that you are in Lagos does not mean you cannot give advice on Daura or on the North. Every Nigerian has the right or privilege of giving advice on matters relating to the Nigerian state. I think what is happening now, on the contrary, is an indication that the system is breaking down, if it has not already broken down.

Some persons have suggested that governors of the states affected by banditry should engage in dialogue with the bandits. Do you think bandits are persons of reason that can be brought to a negotiation table?

Doesn’t that offend our collective sensibility? This means that the government has been overwhelmed by criminals. And this is to the extent that a governor or somebody else in that position will call criminals to a conference in terms of ensuring security, and with conditions given to him by these criminals? Thus, this is a confirmation that things are already out of control. Where do you find it in the world? Where? Where do you see a state calling criminals to a conference or a dialogue? And they are giving you conditions that you are accepting. This then means that you have given up on your responsibilities to secure your areas.

The military are currently conducting several land and air bombardments in the North. Do you think previous and current military operations in these crisis areas have achieved anything?

Well, I don’t know because I am not in the military and they do not report to me; so I don’t know. But the government itself said it had defeated the Boko Haram terrorists. You journalists are supposed to be taking them up on this. You are supposed to put them on their toes. They claimed that they had defeated the Boko Haram and secured the areas that were formerly under the control of insurgents.

Do you think there is any problem with our present military architecture that it appears they cannot tackle insecurity?

I don’t need to answer that question at all. What we have on the ground is that we have security forces and they have responsibilities for our security and for the country. You don’t need Ango Abdullahi for you to conclude whether they are ineffective or not. You should be able to judge whether they have been effective or not. You should be able to judge whether their claims are correct or not. If the government say, “yes”, the country is secure; then why are we having all these security problems everywhere now? So, it is up to you to conclude based on your investigations. In my statement, I noted that the masses are angry and fed up. Already, there are protests in some parts of the country and what we are saying is that the protests should be as peaceful as possible, in as much as the people have a right to protest.

In July 2019, NEF made a call to Fulani herdsmen to return home with their cattle because they were not safe in the southern part of the country. Have they started returning or have you changed your stance?

Our advice to them was conditional. When there was so much noise in the areas where they were operating with many notable indigenes calling on them to quit, we asked them to appeal to the leadership of these areas that they wanted to live in peace in the communities. We also told them that if this became impossible, rather than stay and engage in conflicts, they should move to areas where they felt relatively safe. You should remember that the reaction of the government then was that who was I to advise the Fulani to move from one part of the country to another one. But we know that Nigerians should be at peace wherever they are. Whenever the Igbo’s movement from the North to their region was being debated, we were reminded that Nigerians should earn their livelihoods wherever they are. So we thought that the Fulani should be able to earn their livelihoods from every part of Nigeria. But I think the matter has been laid to rest since last year.

Aside from banditry, there seems to be a resurgence of the Boko Haram violence in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states; do you think the government has lost this war?

This is something that you should be reporting on. You should be the one to tell me.

The Presidency has hit back at NEF and at your person, saying you are a general without soldiers and that you have no credible membership or hold on the North; how do you react to this?

Yes, the government has described me as a general without troops. I replied them on Monday that Ango Abdullahi indeed has millions of Nigerians as his troops; Nigerians who acknowledge that this government has failed to secure the country. The Federal Government is in charge of the security apparatus of this country. I have no apparatus but from what Nigerians are saying in the newspapers, radio and everywhere, there is a total failure in terms of security in this country. Incidentally, the general who is supposed to be commanding the country’s armed troops must have been the one who failed – not Ango Abdullahi. This is the least of the responsibility that we can offer to the Nigerian people. We see and say things the way they are and this is what we have been doing at NEF in the past 10 years that we have been in existence; we don’t engage in sycophancy or praise-singing. If somebody is contending with what we are saying, then he should come out with counter-facts so that we can argue in the public space.

The Presidency also claimed that Nigerians could see how the government was tackling insecurity; do you think there is anything wrong with their method?

If there is security, why are Nigerians complaining about insecurity? If we are complaining about banditry, killings, and burning of villages by unknown gunmen, then there is insecurity. And this was why I issued the statement on this topic last week. Last week’s statement was not the first one which the media man in Aso Rock (Femi Adesina) would be responding to that Ango Abdulllahi is a general without troops. Millions of Nigerians acknowledge already that the country is suffering from insecurity. I am sure he (Adesina) will also think of the general who has troops and controls the nation’s security apparatus and yet we (citizens) are insecure. We are saying there is insecurity in the country and this is the consensus among Nigerians. Many Nigerians believe that Nigeria is insecure. It is not about Ango Abdullahi.

What is your take on the recent shooting incident in Aso Villa following a disagreement between some presidential aides and the Aide-de-Camp to the First Lady, Aisha Buhari?

Believe me, I just heard this from you. Unfortunately, this may not sound fair but I don’t watch Nigerian televisions. I get African and Nigerian news from other sources.

What signals are there for Nigeria if the President appears not to have a good grasp of his family affairs?

You can extrapolate that, it is not for me to extrapolate. I am only concerned about the official level of operation in our Presidency. I don’t want to get involved in family affairs.

There are insinuations that Buhari is not in charge of his government and unnamed members of a cabal are calling the shot. What would you say about this?

Well, I don’t know whether we have had a new election since 2019. All I know is that Buhari is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He took his oath of office on May 29, 2019. And I don’t know who else is in charge of Nigeria except Buhari. So, the buck stops on his table and I don’t want excuses at all. I don’t accept excuses.

Most of the political parties believe in zoning and power rotation. Going by this arrangement, another region is expected to produce the next President by 2023? Do you agree with this arrangement?

No! I was part of it in 1998 and 1999; but now I don’t believe in it again. I don’t believe in it and I say that Nigerians should find the best material that will run the country for them, irrespective of whether he is Ijaw, Hausa, Kanuri, Efik or whatever. This is my new thinking now. I think we have tried this zoning and it appears that it has failed. It has created more problems for us. I gave an interview recently where I said that there were some changes we have to make and be looking out for. Of course, this (zoning) is political, it is not even constitutional.

We should move away from the presidential system of government to parliamentary system. This is because the presidential system that we have tried for almost 40 years now has not worked; the parliamentary system was adopted for only five years and we abandoned it without any reason. We didn’t give any reason why it was less efficient or less effective than the presidential system that we now run. Presidential system is too expensive for a poor country and this is responsible for the corruption, incompetence and lack of accountability in Nigeria. So, let us go back to parliamentary system of government. I am one of those who would vote for a parliamentary system of government in a referendum, if there is a referendum tomorrow for a change of system from presidential to parliamentary.

Some people believe Nigeria cannot make progress with its current structure and that it needs to restructure, but it is also believed that the North doesn’t want it. Why is the North opposed to it?

What is restructuring? You have to give me the content of the restructuring with the details of the restructuring the country requires. Is it the political system it operates vis-à-vis the system it operated before independence or after independence? And for me, this country really was working before independence with the regions. The regions were virtually independent. Each region had a constitution – northern, southern and western; this is the region we inherited from the British and we used it for only four or five years. For me, if we had kept these regional structures (because they were working for us), we would have been better. The Western Region was doing very well with free education without oil money. The Northern and Eastern regions had their trades too. But now, we have got into what you called presidential system of government and you have billions coming from petroleum. But where are the services, schools, universities, health services and security despite the billions of dollars coming in from the oil sector? So, what I am saying is that the basic structure you want to change is the basis for restructuring. And this is it – go back to the parliamentary system and you will see a lot of differences between this present system which is unaccountable, full of indiscipline and corruption. But the government does not want to change – each governor thinks he should be a governor forever in his state. We can be five regions but the structures will be working better-schools, amenities, hospitals, and other places will be working well. So, we need to go back to that political structure because the political structure we have now (the presidential system of government) is not working. And the simple challenge we have for everyone who is talking about restructuring is that we need to have a referendum and make a decision to return. This is where we should go. We should not waste time talking about an imaginary restructuring.

Health › Nigerian Researchers Announce The Discovery Of COVID-19 Vaccine by Gjrich(op): 1:35am On Jun 21, 2020
Vaccine expected to be mobilized for widespread use in at least 18 months, says science team leader.

A team of Nigerian scientists has announced the discovery of a preventive vaccine against the novel coronavirus, localities media reported Saturday.

"It is our passion to be a solution provider to such a global pandemic, and we are ready to throw our weights behind the team and make the vaccine a reality," news website Leadership quoted the leader of the COVID-19 Research Group, Dr. Oladipo Kolawole.

"The vaccine is real. We have validated it several times. It is targeted at Africans, but will also work for other races. It will work. It cannot be faked. This is a result of the determination. It took a lot of scientific efforts," Kolawole told reporters at Adeleke University in Nigeria's Ede, Osun State On Friday.

"The population of those that need vaccines is more than those that need drugs. That is why the research focused on a vaccine," he noted.

The study that the vaccine was based on was initially funded by the Trinity Immunodeficient Laboratory and Helix Biogen Consult, Ogbomosho, with roughly 7.8 million Nigerian nairas ($20,000), according to the report.

Kolawole went on to say that his team had worked extensively on the virus's genome from samples across Africa to select the best potential vaccine candidates.

The researchers of the team had made the possible latent vaccine constructs, Kolawole revealed, without naming the vaccine.

He added that it would take a minimum of 18 months to release the vaccine for widespread use, due to a large amount of research, analysis and approvals required by medical authorities.

Politics › Victory For Obaseki As NYSC Issues Him A New Certificate by Gjrich(op): 8:11pm On Jun 20, 2020
If you have been following up with the politics happening in Edo State, you will observe new things come up basically every day. The latest is the issuance of a new NYSC certificate to Governor Obaseki.

Recall governor Obaseki was disqualified by the APC screening committee for discrepancies in his credentials. Days before he was disqualified, there was argument over the authenticity of his university certificate. The institution, University of Ibadan later came out to confirm that the governor is an alumnus of the school. Despite the university's clarification, Governor Obaseki was disqualified based on inconsistencies in his Higher School Leaving Certificate and NYSC.

On his NYSC certificate, the APC screening committee said though it wasn't faked, there was a typo which governor Obaseki refused to correct. It was said that the name 'Obaseki' was wrongly spelt as 'Obasek'.

In the latest development, the NYSC problem has been resolved with the commission issuing the governor a new certificate. This is a victory for the governor as he has been threatened to face legal battle and litigation if he wins the election with the discrepancies in the certificates.

Politics › President Buhari Split Nigeria Now, Disaster Is Coming - Pastor Adewale Giwa by Gjrich(op):
Leader of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to, as a matter of urgency, use his office to split Nigeria into parts before the 2023 election.

Giwa, in a statement to DAILY POST on Thursday specifically said the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress was as a result of the presidential ambition of some politicians who want to control the country at all costs.

The cleric urged Buhari to allow Nigerians go their different ways in peace before the 2023 election.

According to Giwa, “Nigerians are ready to forgive the maladministration of president Muhammadu Buhari in the last five years if he can listen to the cries of the citizens this time around and split the country into parts.

The North is not ready to cede power to the South, while the East is also yearning for the position.

We should not wait till the 2023 presidential election tears us apart before the president makes this decision.

Already, some politicians are playing the game against the rules.

“If nobody could fix Nigeria since 1960, 1999 and now, I don’t think we should expect any Messiah to wipe the tears from our eyes after the exit of president Buhari.

“Our population is over 200 million and we have over 500 languages being spoken across the country. So, it is glaring that the nation is big for a person to control.

Abram (Abraham) and Lot parted ways when the land of Bethel could not support them with their flocks and herds.

When fights broke out between the herdsmen of Abram and Lot, Abram talked it over with Lot and allowed him to choose any land(region) he wanted.

“They parted ways and that solved their differences. You don’t join people together by force when things are not working.

There are a lot of hypocrites in Christianity and Islam who cannot call a spade a spade. I have decided to come out to say this for peace to reign in Nigeria.

“2023 presidential election will do more harm than good in the country. The current crisis rocking the APC is all about who wants to be the next president.

Boko Haram and other terrorist groups are busy killing innocent Nigerians on a daily basis. Where is unity in Nigeria?

“Those who do not want the progress of the country would want things to continue this way so that they can continue to get a share of “the national cake.”

Politics › Revealed !!!!! Why Adams Oshiomole Was Finally Removed: The Inside Story by Gjrich(op): 10:04am On Jun 18, 2020
REVEALED !!!!!

Adams Aliyu Oshiomole tenure as the National Chairman of the ruling party in the last two years of his expected four year tenure has been a troublous, controversial, contentious, divisive, anti-progressives, counter productive and diversionary political party administration and leadership ever seen in Nigeria. Oshiomole is the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party, the words, advice, suggestions and comments of the other 25 members do not matter. He is the lord of the manor. The ‘Putin’ of this era.

According to a credible source from the ‘power base within the APC’, ‘we have tolerated Oshiomole to this level so as not to give room to the opposition to accuse us of a fallen house in just under two years’. The source also said ‘It is unfortunate that Oshiomole has turned himself into a ‘Political General’ who does not take orders and advise from anybody and bad enough, his orders are such that have brought defeats to his ‘political command’!!!

According Mallam Sheu Ismaila a frontline APC leader in Kaduna, ‘with a friend like Oshiomole be assured you are in a lion’s den ready for consumption’. He further said ‘ Oshiomole is a crafty politician who can stoop to get what he wants and once he gets it, he consumes you either for breakfast, lunch or dinner’. Ismaila also said ‘we all know that without the support of great party leaders like Okorocha, Yari, Obaseki, Yari, Amosun and Amechi he would not have gotten the National Chairmanship of our great party. But today he has dealt a deadly blow on all his destiny helpers.’ ‘Oshiomole did not even spare the first lady, Hajia Aishat Buhari, by working against her interest in Adamawa State. That was a great effrontery!!! It was a confrontation against Buhari himself’

According to our source, some factors may have finally led to the affirmation of his suspension by the Court of Appeal. The first factor was the non-fulfillment of the agreements he reached with a ‘cabal’ when his earlier suspension was ‘quashed’. The terms of settlement with Oshiomole included the recall of the suspended Deputy National Chairman North, Senator Lawan Shuabu and the National Vice Chairman (North East). It also included giving Governors Obaseki and Akeredolu the right of first refusal to re-contest as sitting governors under APC and lastly, he was advised to be a team player. It was a highly remorseful Oshiomole that the whole Nigerians saw after his emergence from the Aso Villa that fateful afternoon and in his followed up meeting with members of his NWC, he was indeed sober and promised to be a ‘brand new humble’ Oshiomole!. Everyone was happy. Not long after this, Oshiomole like a leopard or ‘dried fish’ came out stronger to ‘ruthlessly’ deal with his perceived enemies. To him what matter most were his interests and not national interests.

The source also confirmed that security reports may have implicated Oshiomole in Edo House of Assembly crisis. Oshiomole had directed the 12 Honourable members under his ‘refuge’ not to present themselves for inauguration up till now. Oshiomole is however presenting the case as if Governor Obaseki had stubbornly refused to inaugurate the honourable members. The truth of the matters is that those 12 renegade honourable members have never made attempt to be inaugurated.!! Oshiomole had insisted he must produce the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Majority Leader for a sitting governor. Many people have asked him ‘did Oyegun gave him the list of the House of Assembly leadership when he was the governor?’

Oshiomole arrogance reached a credo few days ago when the Committee of APC Governors in Nigeria held a meeting with him and advised that sanity be maintained in the party by allowing Obaseki to partake in Edo State primaries instead of outright disqualification of a sitting governor. Oshiomole lambasted them and insisted on its own terms. Unknown to Oshiomole, the APC governors left to re-strategize and stop his destructive tendencies before he finally destroyed their party.

At the meeting with the governors and the NWC members everyone was shocked to hear Oshiomole saying that disqualifying a sitting governor from primary election does not portend grave dangers for the party even when people drew his attention to Benue and Sokoto States where the governors were denied APC tickets in 2019 and eventually crossed to other party and won their re-elections.

Oshiomole went into the ‘pit he dug for himself’ when party members were alarmed at Obaseki attempt to cross to PDP.

The attempt would have made the entire be South-south a PDP zone. Many were grieved that it is improper for an APC National Chairman to come from a state ‘now to be controlled’ by PDP and may not be able to withstand the emerging mockery from a redeemable needless crisis. They had to nip Oshiomole misadventure in the bud before it becomes an irreparable destruction.

According to a top member of the party from Edo State Chief Sunday Eboigbe ‘Many people will not say but its real. ‘Oshiomole had several times discountenanced the ideas, suggestions and advice of Mr President’. It is unheard of and this is clearly an affront to the respected office of Mr President and the National Leader of the party. Thank God our president is a calm, progressive and God fearing man otherwise Oshiomole would have gone long before now’.

Mr Bashiru Lawal from Lagos said ‘The rug had to be pulled out of Oshiomole feet when senior party men observed that his activities are self serving and were overtly pro-cabal based in Southwest’. To Oshiomole, the National Leader based in Southwest is more important than the ‘real National Leader’ of the party in Abuja!.

The APC governors two weeks ago had been embarrassed when as sitting governors went to Lagos to discuss with a ‘National Leader’ and left with ignominy. This to them portends a danger typology of the rise of a Stalin or Putin in an autocratic state. Indeed autocracy has found its way into APC and democracy seems to have been put in the pocket of one man!!!

The plan to exit Oshiomole from his exalted seat came as a shock to everyone, even his backers. No one saw it coming. It was meticulously, diligently and confidentially processed.

Every leader of APC believed that Oshiomole is a ‘bull in a china shop’ and the earlier he is restrained the better for the ‘chinas’ in the shop and the ‘chinas’ Shop owner.

According to Mr Oyedele Abodunrun from Ondo State, he said “ twice beaten shy, Oshiomole may have gone for ever as those who helped him in the past have now seen him as an unrepentant treacherous, divisive, destructive, ungrateful and autocratic fellow. We must do away with him to save our great party from this path of perdition’

Can Oshiomole survive this current battle against him? This is doubtful because the forces against him have reunited powerfully. He may have taken the path of dishonor like those disgraced National Chairmen of PDP.

Politics › Femi Adesina Lack Respect For Elders- Arewa Youth Consultative Forum. ( AYCF) by Gjrich(op): 4:05pm On Jun 17, 2020
The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF, has criticised President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina over his comment against the Northern Elders’ Forum.
AYCF called on Adesina to stop what it termed insults and unguarded words against NEF’s convener, Prof. Ango Abdullahi.

Recall that Abdullahi had accused Buhari of failing in his responsibility of protecting people of the North, following several attacks by bandits and insurgents.
The NEF convener had cried out that the North was at the mercy of criminals who are constantly terrorizing them.
Responding, Adesina described NEF as mere irritant and featherweight.
The presidential spokesman said NEF lacked good leaders
However, AYCF berated Adesina for attacking NEF’s leadership, stressing that Buhari’s spokesman has no respect for elders.
A statement signed by AYCF President-General, Yerima Shettima called on Adesina to apologise for his comments against Abdullahi.

AYCF wondered why Adesina should attack Abdullahi and NEF for telling the government the truth regarding the killings in the North.
The youths warned that such attacks against its leaders won’t be condoned from Adesina.
The statement reads: “That Femi Adesina has insulted the North and we take exception to his choice of words, which we believe he would never use against elders from Yoruba land for whatever reason. We demand the withdrawal of the abusive language he deployed against Professor Ango Abdullahi and other respected elders in NEF.
“We cannot fathom why telling truth to power over the increasing killings in the North by Prof Ango warrants the use of derogatory language against our elders by Femi Adesina.

“We find it even scandalous that a Presidential Spokesman lacks the right choice of words to use in dodging the reality of today’s Nigeria, in which the North is worse off.
“We would like to make it abundantly clear that we will not condone the deployment of foul language against our elders any more. This is not the first time Mr. Adesina would be spewing foul language against elders of our region but we hope it will be the last.
“While we stress that we would not take this kind of infantile attack on our elders, we wish to call in all Northerners of good conscience to ignore Adesina’s unguarded outburst against Prof Ango and NEF.

Enough of this nonsense please.”
In recent time, banditry and insurgents have been attacking communities, killing people in Northern states like Kaduna, Katsina, Borno, Taraba, and Sokoto States.

Politics › Edo 2020: We’ll Go To Court If PDP Fields Obaseki – Oshiomhole by Gjrich(op): 3:04pm On Jun 17, 2020
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, said on Tuesday that his party will go to court to challenge Governor Godwin Obaseki’s certificates if he is fielded by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the September governorship election in Edo State.
Governor Obaseki formally resigned from the APC Tuesday morning from the APC, the platform he became governor of the state in 2016.
He is believed to be heading to the PDP, where he is likely to contest the gubernatorial election.

Oshiomhole who spoke at the Court of Appeal premises said the party will take Obaseki to court over the alleged discrepancies in academic qualifications if the opposition party in the state presents him as its governorship candidate.
“Fortunate enough, it was the PDP that exposed him in 2016. PDP filed a case at the Federal High Court, amplifying every forgery segments in his certificate. APC just managed to escape that because PDP filed out of time and the case was struck out,” Oshiomhole told reporters.

The APC stated further: “Now, the case has life so when they field him, we will be at the court to adopt what PDP filed before the court against him with additional evidence we now have against him. So, we can’t wait to have PDP field him as their candidate.”
Oshiomhole noted that soon, the boys will be separated from the men.
“So far, we are good, we will soon separate the boys from the men. He has had a good day abusing, saying half truth against me, that’s fine.”
According to him, Obaseki has that democratic right to leave or join any party of his choice.
“It is his right to leave APC, there is no compulsory membership of a party. A political party is a voluntary association, if you want to stay, you stay, if you want to leave, you leave. He has exercised that democratic right. However, from my point of view, it is a good radiance to bad rubbish,” he remarked
He explained that the issue of his disqualification from contesting under the APC is about his certificate.
“When you forged a certificate like you saw in the case of Bayelsa state, where we won an election, and on account of irregularities on the certificate of our candidate, we lost out at the Supreme Court level.

“Only a foolish political party will not with due attention meticulously screened those who want to contest election on the platform of the party after that incident,” he added.

Politics › Trouble Looms As High Court Says No Party Must Field Obaseki As Its Candidate. by Gjrich(op): 2:44pm On Jun 17, 2020
There is a new development on the case of the incumbent Governor of Edo State. He may have just lost all his hopes to re-contest for the Governorship seat of the Edo State as fresh information contained in a Petition document was released by the All Progressives Party, APC. Prior to this new development, his Governorship Ambition was tied to defecting from his current party, the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples’ Democratic Party that had their doors opened for the incumbent Governor to contest, under the Party Umbrella, before the news that was contained in the Petitioned that was released by the All Progressives Congress, shattered the whole Plan.

data.Inside the petition document, it was clearly stated that on the order of the High Court, the incumbent Governor of Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki must not be allowed to contest for the forthcoming Gubernatorial Election of the Edo State, under any Political Party in Nigeria. It further states that, any party that fields such a disqualified candidate, Godwin Obaseki will be fined under Section 31(cool of the Electoral Act.

You are wondering why the case of Godwin Obaseki has metamorphosed from Fire to Frying Pan? It is simply because of the following reasons:

Governor Godwin Obaseki contested for the Governorship Position under the All Progressives Congress in 2016 and he won. Behind his victory, it has been uncovered that he intentionally submitted false Affidavit to the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC on the 12th of July, 2016, so as to pave a way for his ambition to become reality. Is offense is contrary to the provisions of Section (5) and (6) of the Electoral Act. The whistle was blown on a suspicion by the Peoples’ Democratic Party that the Affidavit that Godwin Obaseki used in 2016 was false. Thereafter, the Peoples’ Democratic Party decided to take the case to court, to confirm if the Federal High Court, in Abuja truly gave Godwin Obaseki the Affidavit in 2016.

In response to the enquiry, the Federal High Court replies that the Affidavit that Godwin Obaseki holds, does not emanate from the Federal High Court of Justice, Abuja. Thus, the High Court orders that any Political Party that nominates such a disqualified candidate will be fined.

These are the pictures of the fake Affidavit that were submitted by Governor Godwin Obaseki to the Independent Electoral Commission on the 12th day of July, 2016, to maneuver his ways into his office.

What The Igbos Share In Common With The Jews That Has Made Them The Most Envied And Feared Nigerians

I don’t believe the Igbos are genetically Jewish, but spiritually they are, like all Christians. They are related to this “ingenious” race thanks to Jesus Christ. What the Igbo really share with the Jews is the fact that they are feared for their industriousness and material successes. The recent outcry by the Yoruba people of Ladipo market in Lagos State to their prominent Yoruba men to save them from the Igbos, is akin to the cry of the Germans to their leaders to save them from the Jews before the Nazi rise to power in the 1930s, we know what happened.

Today, as ever, the Jews are a community that adores and encourage the habit of self-development, adventure, Industriousness, and learning. This attitude to life has brought them so much success in life, as well as the envy of other groups. Envy begat fear that ultimately led to their persecution. In the Bible, Pharaonic Egypt had to enslave the Jewish people to check their successes else the Egyptian feared, the Jews would grow so much and stronger to take over their land. The fear of the Jews extended even into Medieval Europe: Jews were encamped in settlements away from the regular European communities, and former to wear badges. They were denied some rights and marginalized. Yet they persevered, with the liberalization of Europe some two hundred years ago, the Jewish communities became one of the most successful groups in Europe.

They were prominent in politics, military, but much more in trade and commerce, and learning. Hundred years ago Jews were one of the most successful racial groups in the world, owning businesses and pioneering and dominating fields of learning and knowledge. They invested in the communities they resided and regarded themselves as citizens, sooner successful businesses and practices emerged across Europe owned by Jews. One again, the tradition that celebrates and encourages industry and learning paid off. Jewish successes began to inspire the envy of other European communities thus the rise of aggressive antisemitism. Some European Communities began to fear that the Jews will eventually dominate and take up their lands.

In Germany for example, the Jews were blamed for the impoverishment of the German people and the defeat of the Germans in the first world war. Most Germans called on their leaders to save them from the Jews – sounds familiar? Well, Hitler and Nazism answered, when they ascended to power in Germany, antisemitism was “no longer regarded as old fashion Jewish hating but a state policy”, borrowing from a line in the Holocaust movie “Schindler’s List.” Hitler and Nazism systematically dispossessed the Jews of their belongings and investments, encamped them in ghettos, and later concentration camps were about six million of them were systematically killed between 1939 and 1945. That is the price of envy and fear, the fear of Jewish domination. The fear of any racial or ethnic group!

The Jews, up until 1948 and their activities in Palestine (now Israel), had been a community that is military and politically passive. They focus more on the aspect of trade and learning, with little interest in politics or ambition to establish a Jewish state or political domination in Europe. Yet, their successes cannot be ignored: as skillful businessmen and brilliant scholars, they dominated business and commerce and fields of learning. It is by aggressive business decisions and daring intellectualism and not political or militant exploits, that the Jews were emerged as a force to reckon with in Europe and the world, even today. This is the very reason why some Nigerian groups are apprehensive about the Igbos.

Of the three major ethnic groups in Nigeria, the Igbos were the least cohesive in the period before colonization. They loved their lives as it were before the Europeans came, and fought wars – probably the longest of the traditional anti-colonial wars – to protect their societies against colonization, they failed. Their societies were turned inside out and “destroyed”, the reality and mood are captured in Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart. But the Igbos persevered under the new order, and their adventurism makes them more receptive to the European ideals and life, as well as the desire to migrate to other regions and strive to thrive.

Like the Jews who thrived outside their ancestral homeland in Palestine (Israel), in their new communities of resident the industry of the Igbo led them into establishing enterprises that would sustain them. The Igbo tradition that encourages and rewards individual success pushed the Igbos to work harder, better, and smarter. They acquire western knowledge and excel in their endeavors, be it learning or business. Between 1900 and 1960, the Igbos have emerged very successfully that the became the envy of others and inspiring fear in them. The fear of Igbo domination.

While Interviewing the then Premier of the Northern Region of Nigeria Sir Ahmadu Bello at his residence at Arewa House Kaduna, the Premier was asked to explain the northerner's obsession with the Igbo, he responded that “the Igbos are more or less the those of people whose desire is mainly to dominate everybody”, that was a dangerous submission. Considering the fact that the Igbos then had no militia whose aim is to conquer and dominate other communities, they are businessmen who only desire to succeed and increase, well were so good at it that their successes were watched with suspicion and adjudged as a deliberate attempt to dispossess others of their privileges. Ahmadu Bello embarked on the Northernization policy to check the Igbo encroachment, and that fear of the Igbo might have been so ripe to harden the people to orchestrate the pogrom targeting the Igbos during the 1960s – a sinister act akin to the holocaust.

It was the fear of the Igbo man that undermine the sincerity of the first Nigerian military coup, the coup was concentrated by a core of largely South-Eastern Igbo officers. The fact that no prominent Igbo was killed during the coup, as well as the emergence of Aguiyi Ironsi as Head of State, heighten the suspicion of a grand Igbo agenda to dominate others. Ironsi fed this suspicion with his unpopular Unification Degree which abolished regionalism and centralizing power.

This was regarded as proof and confirmation of the Igbo domination intention to dominate others. In order to end the grand plan to dominate others by the Igbo, the nation was dragged into a bloody counter-coup and 30 months old civil war in which millions of lives were lost and properties destroyed. The Igbos suffered more and lost more too. Like the Jews after the holocaust, the Igbos emerged from this devastation with nothing but between 1970 and today, they had bounced back to prominence on the sheer strength of smart industrious decisions and actions. And the new success is still envied and feared, even though they Igbos had not produced a Head of state or President since 1966.

Some Yoruba men at Ladipo market came out lamenting that the growing Igbo businesses are taking over their lands, and were calling on their leaders to save them from the Igbos, even though all they needed to do is compete aggressively with the Igbos – they have the home advantage even! They claim they Igbos are using millions to buy or “take” their lands away from them. But this is not done by the force of arm or intimidation but mutual and transactional understanding and agreement.

Odumegwu Ojukwu (as Biafran General), was encouraged by Igbo elders in 1967 following the pogrom against the Igbos in Northern Region of Nigeria, to break-away from Nigeria. He did and that was how Nigeria plunged into a state of war that will last for thirty months (Image: historytoday.com)

The Igbos buy lands and properties where they dwell and do business as a business necessity and not as an agenda to infiltrate and take over as the Jews did to the Palestinians. Like the Jews, it is the act of distrust, envy, and fear of the Igbo business successes and growth that had often alarmed most Nigerian communities to rise against them. It is this unwelcoming and intolerant treatment and opinion of the Igbo that has made some of them to lost confidence in the Nigerian state and union. It is the fear of the Igbo that fuels the fires of self-determination which presently is been exploited by Nnamdi Kanu to sustain the agitation for Biafra. Just as it was desirable for the Jews to establish the state of Israel.

The Igbos like the Jews are a community that had developed and maintained the tradition that encourages self-improvement, industry, adventurism, and acknowledges and celebrates success. This has made the Igbos the most successful ethnic group in Nigeria. But their successes and the desire to grow and expand in societies outside their homeland has always been viewed with suspicion, that they nurture the agenda to overwhelm and dominate their host communities. This was the reason why the Jews were feared and hated in Germany, and why the Hausas and the Yoruba of Lagos fear the Igbos.

Health › Resident Doctors Begin Nationwide Strike In Nigeria by Gjrich(op): 11:28am On Jun 15, 2020
The National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria on Monday commenced a nationwide strike after the expiration of a 14-day ultimatum.

The National President of NARD, Dr Aliyu Sokomba, had in a circular last week said the association found it necessary to take “the painful decision” following the inability of the Federal Government to meet its demands.

“Consequent upon the 14 days ultimatum duly served the Federal Government for indefinite strike action, in accordance with the resolution of the Ordinary General Meeting of the Association on the May 29, we hereby notify you that all resident doctors, medical officers below the rank of Principal Medical Officer and House Officers across all the Federal and State hospitals in Nigeria, shall be embarking on a total and indefinite strike action effective 12:01 am on Monday, 15th June 2020.

“It is important that you make alternative arrangements for the care of the patients as the strike shall be total and indefinite. No service of any kind, be it emergency, care at COVID-19 isolation and treatment centres shall be exempted. We sympathize with the patients and the Nigerian populace.

“For purpose of clarity, the demands on which the ultimatum was predicated include the following; Provision of grossly inadequate appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for all health care workers; Immediate reversal of the illegal disengagement of all 26 resident doctors in Jos University Teaching Hospital, and the payment of all salaries owed them, in keeping with provisions of the Medical Residency Training Act.

“Universal Implementation of the Medical Residency Training Act in all federal and state hospitals and ensuring pay parity among doctors of equal cadre; Immediate implementation of the revised hazard allowance and payment of the COVID-19 inducement allowance as agreed with by the Federal Government and healthcare workers three months ago,” Sokomba said.

The association also advocated the provision of funding for Medical Residency Training in the 2021 Appropriation bill, as well as payment of all arrears, owed its members in the federal and states tertiary health institutions, arising from the consequential adjustment of the National minimum wage.

Politics › ‘you Are Mere Irritant, Featherweight’ – Femi Adesina Blast Northern Elders by Gjrich(op): 10:32am On Jun 15, 2020
Femi Adesina has launched a scathing attack on the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), insisting that the organisation is a General without a troop.

Recall that in a statement, on Sunday, signed by its Chairman, Prof. Ango Abdullahi, NEF said that the insecurity in some northern states of the country was an indication that President Muhammadu Buhari and the governors of those states have lost control over the protection of the people which is a constitutional duty.

But in a counter statement signed by Femi Adesina, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, the Presidency said it was not surprised by the latest statement by Prof. Abdullahi, insisting that its past position on what the NEF represents remains unchanged: “a mere irritant and featherweight.

The Presidency has launched a scathing attack on the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), insisting that the organisation is a General without a troop.

The former vice chancellor signed the statement under the banner of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF). Hearing that title, you would think the body was a conglomeration of true elders. But the truth is that NEF is just Ango Abdullahi, and Ango Abdullahi is NEF. It is a quasi-organization that boasts of no credible membership, and its leader is akin to a General without troops,” Adesina said.

The Presidency recalled that before the last presidential election, the organization, which it described as a one-man army, had “shown its antipathy against President Buhari, and its preference for another candidate. They all got beaten together.”

The Presidency in the statement said that Prof. Ango Abdullahi-led NEF was merely waving a flag that is at half-mast.

And that President Buhari “steadily and steadfastly focuses on the task of retooling Nigeria, and discerning Nigerians know the true state of the nation. They don’t need a paper tiger to tell them anything.”

Politics › Before You Blame Anyone For The Gunshots In Aso Rock, Read What Truly Happened by Gjrich(op): 1:21am On Jun 14, 2020
Before you start ascribing blames to any one over the gunshots in Aso Rock, you need to know what truly transpired in Aso Rock between the First Lady, First Family, Aso Rock Security, Chief Security Officer to the President and the President’s Personal Assistant, Yusuf on the 12th of June, 2020.

It all started when the Personal Assistant, Secretary and Cousin of President Buhari, Mr. Sabiu Yusuf returned from a journey from Lagos State to the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock. The problem started when two of the most powerful relations of the President started checking power, a power tussle. The Wife of the President, who holds the key to the President’s heart and partly his life and the deepest vein of the President, his cousin who is at the same time his Personal Assistant and even his Personal Secretary, created a scene at the Villa last night.

Returning back from the trip, the President’s Wife Aisha Buhari and three of the President’s children; Zahra, Halima and Yusuf together with some security personnel led by the Aide-de-Camp of Aisha Buhari, Mr. Usman Shuabu, kindly went to Mr. Sabiu Yusuf, who just arrived from an interstate journey, just to spend the weekend alongside some five girls from Daura, Kano and Abuja, was kindly asked to self quarantined himself in his residence inside the Villa so as to protect the lives of everyone; the President’s inclusive.

Aisha Buhari enjoins him to do this because she, Aisha Buhari believes that he, Yusuf may have unknowingly contracted the virus because she has Intel that Mr. Yusuf had met with some of the contacts of the late Former Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Maikanti Baru, who recently died of COVID-19 complications. The President was in the villa and the First Family must do everything in their power to make sure his health is not compromised; also the Security Personnel’s top priority is to protect the First Family, majorly the President. Thus, they told Mr. Yusuf to go and self quarantine himself away from the Presidential Villa. Instead, Mr. Yusuf, who is absolutely, one of the richest youths and definitely the most powerful youth in Nigeria today, decided to wave away the instructions and forced his way into the Presidential Villa to see the President.

The First Family, especially the First Lady became so angered owing to the way Mr. Yusuf defied her order and primarily the NCDC’S which states that anyone who has traveled interstate, should compulsorily self quarantine. The First Lady then told some securities of the First Family, to forcefully, if need be, show Mr. Yusuf his way out of the Villa.

The scenario birthed a heated argument as the Personal Assistant to the President, Mr. Yusuf claims that his wife just delivered in Lagos and he had to go see her. Moreover, he claims he was not the only one who travels to Lagos, in defiance to the interstate lockdown order. Mr. Yusuf tells the first lady that, she knows that the new Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari does travel to Lagos State, virtually every weekend. Yet, he was the only one that was victimized of the accusation.

Still, all force was applied on him and when he showed too much adamancy, the ADC of the First Lady, Usman Shuagba, in an attempt to apprehend Mr. Yusuf and throw him out of the Villa, allegedly fired a gunshot, which cause disarray in the Villa. As for Mr. Yusuf, he quickly finds his way of the Villa and immediately went to the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Adamu Muhammed to report the incident, which later led to the arrest of the ADC of the First Lady.

Currently, all the securities of the First Family who were involved in the gun violence had been nabbed by the Federal Police Force and they are in the Police Cell. They were all arrested based on a principle in their code of duty that no matter the provocation, firing the gunshots in the Presidency Constitutes a “Security breach”, which they are guilty of.
The wife of the President has taken to her twitter account to ask for the release of her securities.

In your own pool of opinions, based on the exclusive information that you have consumed on what truly transpired in the Aso Rock, between the Powerful Forces from different tents, the Tent of the First Family, which constitutes the wife, children and securities of the President and the Tent of the onerous Man, most powerful youth in Nigeria, who at the same time is a Cousin to the president, a Personal Assistant and a Personal Secretary of the President. Which tent do you think is at fault? The First Family’s Tent who applied force which later resulted to gun violence to protect the lives of the Residents of the Villa, including the President or the Personal Assistant and Secretary of the President, Mr. Yusuf who breaks a lockdown order on the basis that his wife allegedly gave birth in Lagos, which the First Lady seems to dispute as he was accused of spending the weekend with some girls from the aforementioned states and haven met the contacts of a Former Coronavirus Patient, refused to self quarantine himself when he got back?

Drop your comments below; let’s know who is at fault.

I Don’t Want to See Anything Like Transgender Again In US – Donald Trump Ends Law Encouraging Transgender

On Friday, Donald Trump who is the president of the United States puts an end to an Obama-era regulation that prevented transgender patients from being discriminated against while receiving health care.

The new policy by Trump has been long-awaited by his religious and conservative supporters. In the new policy, gender is now defined as a person’s biological sex, unlike the Obama regulation that defined gender as a person’s internal sense of being either, male, female, neither or a combination.

There are also moves by the administration to restrict transgender men and women from serving in the military.

Under former President Barack Obama administration rule, hospitals in the United States could be required to perform gender-transition operations (changing from boy to girl or vice versa), such as hysterectomies (removing of the womb).

The Obama-era rule made it easy for people to transform from boys to girls or from girls to boys, but with Trump putting an end to it, there will be difficult going forward.

Already Lesbian Bi-sexual Gay, Transgender and Queer (LBGTQ) groups are protesting against the new law by Trump.

Politics › Shooting At Aso Rock: PDP Charges Buhari To Speak Out by Gjrich(op): 4:23pm On Jun 13, 2020
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed alarmed over the reported shooting and security breaches within the precincts of the Presidential Villa following a reported squabble among family members and officials of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The partying a statement on Saturday, by its national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said it is deeply worried that the protracted spat between the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, and aides of President Muhammadu Buhari has now “degenerated into violent combats, raids and free use of firearms within the Presidential villa”.

Reports had emanated on Friday of a disagreement between one of Buhari’s aides, and the first lady’s security personnel, which had reportedly led to the arrest and detention of Aisha Buhari’s aides.

The wife of the president had gone on social media handle, tweeter to call on the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu to release her aides.

But the opposition PDP described as distressing, the report that a member of Mr. President’s family were at scene of the assault against one of President Buhari’s aides, during which the First Lady’s security details were alleged to have resorted to the use of firearms.

The statement read in part, “Our party is disturbed by such ugly situation in the Buhari Presidency, which has already heightened apprehensions in the public space over the apparent failure of security architecture and central command system in the presidency leading to such reckless and irresponsible breaches.

“The chaotic situation in the Presidential villa only points to the failure by President Buhari to provide a leadership that can guarantee orderliness in governance and effectively ensure the security of our nation.

“The PDP notes that such leadership failure at the highest level has further exposed why our nation has been bedeviled by myriads of security and economic problems under President Buhari’s watch in the last five years.

“More worrisome is that the Buhari Presidency had failed to speak out on the frightening situation so as to reassure Nigerians and douse the tension in the polity; especially at this critical time when our nation is facing serious security challenges.

“The PDP therefore calls on President Buhari to take immediate steps to restore order in his Presidency and shield our security system from the division and power tussle among persons close to him.

“Our party also demands for an immediate inquest into the security breaches as well as the alleged violation of COVID-19 ban on inter-state travels by officials and relations of Mr. President, which was reported to be part of the immediate causes of latest disturbances in the Presidential villa.

“Furthermore, the PDP urges the National Assembly to save the nation by wading into the persistent infighting in the Buhari Presidency especially as those in charge of the Presidential villa have not demonstrated the required capacity to engender the needed orderliness for productive governance.

Politics › Collapse Of The Buhari Myth: Katsina Went On Rampage Burning And Protesting by Gjrich(op): 10:12pm On Jun 10, 2020
Collapse Of The Buhari Myth:
Katsina Burn Down “The Faces Of Justice And Champion Of The Masses".

On Tuesday 9th June 2020, the people of Yantumaki in Katsina state came out to protest the failure of the state in securing their lives and properties. During the protest, they attacked and set on fire a billboard of President Buhari that boldly proclaimed him and Aminu Masari the governor of Katsina state as the faces of the just and champions of the masses (Huskokin adalci da son jama'a). The people blame Buhari and his government for their predicament. That singular act speaks very loud of the community's lack of confidence on President Buhari’s government and his inability to fulfill his pledge of protecting them. This open demonstration against Buhari from his home state, indication of the fall of Muhammadu Buhari, the man of integrity.

President Muhammed Buhari has been a man held in high esteem and beloved by most northerners, but not more than people of his home state Katsina, who consider him theirs. The myth of Buhari claims he was an upright and sincere man, full of integrity and genuine concern and love for the masses. It was on the strength of the popularity of that myth that informed the decision to urge Muhammadu Buhari to contest for Presidency: the myth claimed too that he was (until 2015) the best President is yet to have. He would fight corruption, the myth claimed, and will stand and fight for the interest of the masses.

The myth gains more acceptance prior to 2015 elections due to the failures of Goodluck Jonathan's government inability security people's lives and properties, particularly in the North East. Buhari defeated Goodluck Jonathan in an election that was unprecedented: never had an incumbent President defeated in an election before in Nigeria's history.
Buhari rode on the wings of a popular myth to ascend power, but then Truth begins to expose him. His government happen to be not any different from those before him. Some political pundits think Buhari’s government is worse in comparison; the people of Yantumaki Katsina state confirmed this to be true.

Buhari has always been a hero in Katsina, and the people of the state have always supported him in all his presidential ambitions, giving him massive votes all through. In the North, until recent, no one insults or disrespect Buhari, his myths makes him a god figure so sacred that criticism of his person is not entertained or tolerated. His followers and admirers believed he can do no wrong and that Buhari loves the masses, he is incorruptible, and should he be trusted with power. They are convinced that if the is given power, the common man will be redeemed and protected again. Hence, when he first declared his interest to run as the President of Nigerian in 2003 against incumbent President Olusegun Obasanjo, he defeated Obasanjo in Katsina winning 76% of votes cast in the state.

In 2007, Buhari again ran against another Katsina man for the office of the President of Nigeria, the then outgoing governor of the state, Umaru Musa Yar'adua. Katsina supported Buhari who was considered a just man, better than Yar'adua, but Buhari lost the general election to Yar'adua and even lost in Katsina too, Buhari admirers rejected the result and alleged that it was rigged in favour of Yar'adua. Never again would Katsina fail Buhari.

In 2011, Buhari once again declared interest in running for the Presidency. At that time he had decamped from ANPP to the newly established CPC, his followers and admirers migrated with him and massively voted for him. Although he lost the general election to Goodluck Jonathan, he won Katsina State with 70% of total votes cast, 1,163,919 votes were counted in Buhari's favour. In 2015 he came out again for the fourth time to contest for the Presidency against Goodluck Jonathan, he garnered more than 70% of votes cast in Katsina and historically proceeded to defeat President Goodluck Jonathan in one of the free and fairest elections in Nigeria history.

Katsina state has never disappointed Muhammadu Buhari, especially when he was living the myth outside the corridors of power. But power began to crack the shell that made him sacrosanct, in his first tenure as President of Nigeria, Buhari failed in solving the problem of insecurity. In fact, insecurity worsens under his watch. It spread from the North East to the North Central and North West, consuming Katsina on the way. Under Buhari, there emerged the savagery and devastation of killer bandits and cattle rustlers. Even at that, in 2019, the people of Katsina still voted for Buhari.
During the campaigns, a campaign Billboard of Buhari and Osinbajo was advertised as Huskokin Adalci Da Son Jama'a, translates as The Models of Justice and Lovers of the masses, or The Faces of the just and Champions of the masses. It was this poster that the Katsina state residents of Yantumaki burn.

Nigerians from the South and the Middle Belt had been the ones critical of Buhari's government, and have demonstrated and protested against his failures – with the exception of the Zakzakky IMN Shia protests. The far northern states have been patient, and Katsina, the home state of the President was the first to expressed dissatisfaction with the President, yesterdays protest being the second protest from the state recently. They came out on the street and protested against the sustain state of insecurity in their communities which are plagued by invasions by bandits who sacked villages, killed people and rustle their battles. The burn the billboard that announced that Buhari and Osinbajo as Faces of the Just and Champions of the Masses.

How can a President who controls the apparatus of force (the military, the police and other paramilitary outfits) failed in securing the country from criminals: terrorists, bandits, killer cattle wrestlers and herdsmen; how can the President and government claimed to be lovers and champions of the masses. That can’t be true, Katsina people don’t believe that. Such claim insults sensibility, so the set the Billboard on fire. Burning Buhari's myth and exposing him as a man not worthy of leadership.

Muhammadu Buhari rode to power on the wings of a myth that he was a man of integrity, who is just and love the masses of Nigeria; and as a capable leader who will solve Nigeria’s problem particularly corruption and insecurity. But power exposed the wings of the myth to the heat of responsibility, melting the glue that binds the feather together sending the President on a nose dive descent. Katsina state confirmed the fall of Buhari, he is the hero who has lost his reverence. He has failed in securing the lives and properties of Nigerians.

Politics › Edo Guber: Obaseki Does Not Deserve Second Term, Says Ogiemwonyi by Gjrich(op): 10:29am On Jun 07, 2020
- Governor Godwin Obaseki has been described as an ungrateful man

- This is the position of Engineer Chris Ogiemwonyi who is an aspirant in the Edo governorship election under the APC

- Ogiemwonyi said the attitude of the governor towards his benefactor, Adams Oshiomhole, is a show of ingratitude

An aspirant in the forthcoming Edo state governorship election under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engineer Chris Ogiemwonyi has said that Governor Godwin Obaseki should not be allowed to fly the party’s flag during the September 19 election.

Ogiemwonyi, a former minister of state for works, said the governor was foisted on Edo people in 2016, adding that he does not deserve a second term in office if the state must progress.

According to him, Governor Obaseki was not in the political calculation in Edo state in 2016, until Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, then state governor, supported him.

His words: “The shock I had was the then governor (Oshiomhole) said it was Obaseki. Obaseki wasn’t a player in 2016. It was between myself and Odubu. They couldn’t vote for me because of the body language of the governor.

”Godwin did not campaign. Oshiomhole gave him so much gratitude but he has shown a lot of ingratitude to Oshiomhole. He got that job without a sweat.”

Despite Ogiemwonyi's stance, Governor Obaseki seems to be getting support from some key stakeholders in Edo politics.

One of such people is a former Edo state commissioner of information, who is also a former aide to Oshiomhole, Chief Charles Idahosa.

Idahosa alleged that Governor Obaseki is facing opposition within the APC because he refused to part with some money.

Stag beetles is a family of about 1,200 species of beetles in the family Lucanidae, presently classified in four subfamilies. Some species grow to over 12 cm, but most are about 5 cm.

They are one of those valuable insects in the world.

It has a life 7 years span but the male stag beetles is a bug opportunity for those who wants to be a millionaire.

Politics › Miyetti Allah To Roll Out 100,000 Vigilantes Across Nigeria – Abdullahi Bodejo by Gjrich(op): 11:54am On Jun 06, 2020
•Herdsmen don’t need permission to occupy any land

The National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, has said that the Fulani herdsmen don’t need anybody’s approval or permission to occupy any land in any part of the country. He said the group’s own security outfit is set to roll out with some 5,000 to 100,000 vigilantes to start and deployed across all the states of the country. In this interview with VINCENT KALU, the leader of the Socio-Cultural Association, stressed that the Fulani race founded Nigeria, so, they will rule forever.

What is your view on the state of the nation?

Nigeria is moving, but the coronavirus has made everybody gentle. Before, people were saying whatever they liked, especially over the issue of Fulani herdsmen and farmers’ clashes. I miss the people who were always insulting me in the media because of my position on the issue; I don’t know what has happened, since coronavirus came, they left Fulani herdsmen issue to concentrate on their health; before, it was Fulani herdsmen did this, Fulani herdsmen did that.

Talking about the Nigerian economy, on the part of the Fulani, especially the cattle markets and other activities, nothing changed. Remember, they live their lives like refugees and seemed not to have rights. So, even the coronavirus hasn’t changed anything for them. Before, if they went to hospital, they were billed higher than others, it is still the same; if they want to travel to hajj, they are charged higher than others, if they boarded public transport, they were charged higher fares than others, it is still the same. So, it will be hard for them to observe any difference between how the country was before COVID-19 and now.

Why do they have to pay higher than others in these instances you mentioned?

If a taxicab sees a Fulani man, the place where they were charging N100, he would collect even N300. His own business is just to reach his destination. They are not involved in transportation business, they won’t ask because they are used to it. I asked some Fulani how much they paid from Abuja to Taraba, they said the difference was just N500 from what they used to pay. The same thing with hospital, if a Fulani goes to buy Panadol, which is N100, it will be sold to him for N300 because he doesn’t know.

You haven’t given the reason for this

There are three categories of Fulani in the country. Some Fulani are highly educated, some professors, some are technocrats, etc. This category doesn’t care about the Fulani in the bush. Another category are those who are not so educated, and are just around and parading themselves as the so-called leaders of the Fulani. The third category are Fulani people, don’t know about electricity, borehole and the infrastructures that give life a meaning; they drink water from the same source with their cattle in the bush. They are living their normal lives in the bush. That is the typical Fulani.

Amotekun is now in operation in the Southwest, how are your people cooperating with them because on Monday, it was reported that herdsmen killed three persons in Ondo community?

Their government allowed Amotekun to be doing their thing. In our own case, under my organization, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, we are trying to set up our own security outfit to deal with cattle rustlers, banditry around Fulani settlements. We are considering starting with 5000 personnel. While their own is Amotekun, our own name shall be unveiled soon. It is this coronavirus that has delayed its take off, because of this social distancing policy, as we are trying to be law abiding and helping to move Nigeria forward, but for the Fulani man, nothing concerns him with coronavirus.

The Nigeria Police is trying to secure everybody in the country, but we have observed that those involved in cattle rustling are people who have learnt from Fulani on how to rear cows, or others who don’t have cows anymore because of Benue, Plateau , Zamfara, Katsina, etc crises. For thousands of Fulani, their cattle have finished completely, and they don’t know how to do Achaba (commercial motorcyclist); they don’t know how to operate commercial transport service, so they don’t have anything to engage, as they no more have cattle, so we want to engage them to form our own vigilance group. They know the bushes and so can work with the Nigeria Police and stop the rustlers.

They call their own, Amotekun; since we are the majority in the country, we are supposed to have our own security because our people are living in different bushes across the country, where there is no security, no electricity, nothing. We are meeting, anytime from now, we make our plans public. We will first start with 5,000 personnel. We have not decided on its name, maybe, it may be called, Miyetti Allah Vigilante.

Will it operate only in the North or across the country?

It is going to be across the country because there is no any angle you cannot find the Fulani in this country. Like Amotekun, where the Houses of Assembly made laws to back it up, every place the Fulani find themselves, that is their own Assembly.

Will your security outfit use guns to defend your people?

They will not bear arms. We have sticks, which we use to control cows; that stick is enough to use for their defence.

These cattle rustlers are armed with guns, how can your security outfit match them with sticks?

Sometimes nothing concerns Fulani with guns; if they say they want to do something they will do it, and I don’t think that gun will make them fear. One is a person who is trying to steal and the other is trying to stop the thief, and this is why we are going to increase their number maybe from the initial 5000 to 100,000 or more, so that at any place you have between seven and nine of them, and these thihan three or four.

A community in Delta State, two weeks ago sacked Fulani settlement following incessant killings of their people by herdsmen, what is your position over this development?

Fulani herdsmen are not killers; they don’t kill. This is a strategy to push them out from that community. Any community that wants to sack the herdsmen, they create problem and use it to send them away from the community.

Communities have asked them to come and take accommodation and live with them instead of going to live in the bush

It is because of their activities; you can’t carry cows to enter a secretariat; you can’t carry cattle to come and live together with people. They live in the bush, but the reason you see many of them in the town is because they don’t have any cattle, as a result of rustling and violence, and any person you see carrying maybe 25 cows will be looking for where to graze them.

Some people are alleging that the mass movement of Almajirai and others said to be herdsmen to the South is for sinister motive; to cause problem in the area. What do you say to this?

I’m not happy with the people involved in moving Almajirai from one state to the other because they are Fulani. They said their movement is because of coronavirus, but the committee I set up, said no Fulani man has tested positive for COVID-19, nationwide. Our fear is that moving these people is another strategy to go and infect the herdsmen inside the bush.

I don’t see reason for this movement because they are children. As a governor, it is up to you to make a place for them. That is why I remember former President Jonathan; he is not a Muslim, but he went and built places for these Almajirai in different states. No matter how you hate the former president, you must remember, he tackled the Almajiri issue far more than some people in the North, and I will not mention names. The Almajirai are Nigerians, they are not from Niger or any other country, and it is a culture in the North.

Why are they being taken to the South under the interstate border closure?

I don’t know who is taking them to the South. The only thing I know is their movement from one northern state to the other; they are trying to make every Almajiri to go back to his parent’s house. If they are taking Almajirai from North to South, maybe, their parents are there because Fulani are everywhere; for the fact that they don’t produce governors, senators etc in the Southeast, South-South and Southwest doesn’t mean that they are not in those regions, they are just lying low, not making noise. They are everywhere, if they want they will be producing elected officials, but that is not their problem; their problem is to look for where to graze their cattle; that is their business. If they exhaust their grazing area, they migrate to other area, they can from here go to Ghana, Senegal, and nothing concerns them about the state of the schools or infrastructure in that area.

It is reported that herdsmen have forcefully taken over 350 lands in the Southeast, what is your reaction?

In the first place, who owns the land? I don’t know any place in any local government in Nigeria, where Fulani have displaced people and settle.

They mean farmlands and bushes, not residential areas, where the herdsmen allegedly scare away the owners of the land

I have suggested before that there are places these herdsmen have settled, as a village head, chief or traditional ruler of that community, you should bring them to your place, make a Fulani chief among them, so that if any herdsman tries to scare these farmers, the Fulani chief will send his people to go and arrest him.

Some people are adorning Fulani attire to cause trouble in some places. Nobody has gone to those places to see if they are real Fulani. We have called our members, and they said they were not dragging land with anybody. The commissioner of police is there, the army is there.

Those areas the Fulani live, the traditional ruler should make a Fulani chief and bring him into his cabinet, for peaceful coexistence, it is a very simple matter.

You should know that the Fulani have a right to go and settle anywhere they like, it is in the constitution and you shouldn’t break any law. If Fulani herdsmen go into any bush and settle there, what is their offence?

If as they claimed that their cattle were destroying crops, what is the work of the commissioner of police, he should go and arrest them and charge them to court.

By the way, who has the land they claimed that the herdsmen have settled? I, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, if I decide to go inside bush and settle in any community, I won’t ask for anybody’s permission and be doing my activities, but I won’t offend anybody.

If the herdsmen decide to go and settle inside the bush, they won’t ask for anybody’s permission; the only thing they can see are the grass cutters and other bush meat, do you say they should take permission from these animals before they settle there?

Even the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, it was the Fulani that first settled there. After they settled in one place and leave, then farmers come and start farming, and town start springing up there.

It is only Fulani that can go and stay inside any bush they like. They have right to go and settle in any bush in this country without asking anybody for permission. It is not against the law in this country. Who would they go to take permission from, is it the animals in the bush? You see from the village to the bush they are claiming is theirs maybe over 100 kilometers. How can herdsmen go and settle in a bush that is over 100 kilometers away from where the people live and you expect them to go and take permission from anybody. Who owns the land?

I don’t see any place where people will try and drive away the Fulani; they have right in this country. They produced Nigeria. They produced the first prime minister. If they produced the first president, another president, another president and so on, are they not the owner of the country? Fulani are ruling Nigeria and they must continue to rule the country forever.
That is the truth.

Politics › Fulani Will Rule Forever, Our Security Outfit Is Across Nigeria - Miyetti Allah by Gjrich(op): 11:37am On Jun 06, 2020
The National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, has said that the Fulani own Nigeria and will rule the country forever.

Abdullahi also revealed that his organisation had concluded arrangements to flag-off its own security outfit with about 5,000 to 100,000 vigilantes to be deployed across all the states of the country.

He said that Fulani don’t need permission from anyone to settle in any land of their choice because Nigeria belongs to them and they founded it.

The Fulani leader said that like Amotekun, where the States Houses of Assembly in the South West made laws to back it up, the Fulani security outfit won’t be needing the law to support it because every place the Fulani find themselves, “that is their own Assembly.”

Abdullahi stated this in an interview with the Sun, adding, “My organization, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, we are trying to set up our own security outfit.

“We are considering starting with 5000 personnel. While their own is Amotekun, our own name shall be unveiled soon. We have not decided on its name, maybe, it may be called, Miyetti Allah Vigilante.”

He explained that the Coronavirus has delayed the take off of the outfit because of the social distancing policy even though “nothing concerns Fulani man with Coronavirus.”

“We are meeting, anytime from now, we make our plans public. We will first start with 5,000 personnel,” he said, adding that, “It is going to be across the country because there is no any angle you cannot find the Fulani in this country.

He said that even though personnel of this security outfit are meant to tackle rustlers and bandits with guns and other weapons, they (the new security outfit) will not bear arms but will use the same sticks they use to control cows, adding that “stick is enough to use for their defence.

He insisted that the Fulani has the rights “to go and settle in any bush in this country without asking anybody for permission.

“It is not against the law in this country. Who would they go to take permission from, is it the animals in the bush?”

He said that no one can drive away the Fulani because “They produced Nigeria.

“They produced the first prime minister. If they produced the first president, another president, another president and so on, are they not the owner of the country?

“Fulani are ruling Nigeria and they must continue to rule the country forever.
That is the truth.”

Politics › Nigeria May Lose 24 Councils To New UN State - Guardian Newspaper by Gjrich(op): 11:09pm On Jun 05, 2020
Nigeria may lose 24 councils to new UN state

‘Obasanjo, Biya ceded territories in 2003’

By July 10 this year, Nigeria may lose 24 local councils, by way of ceding, to a new country to be known as United Nations Organisation (UNO) State of Cameroon at its borders with la Republique du Cameroun.

The Guardian learnt that the withdrawal of his country’s soldiers by President Paul Biya from the southern part of the planned UNO State of Cameroon has set the stage for the creation of the new state being spearheaded by the UN.

The withdrawal of troops by Biya was formally demanded by the former President of the United Nations General Assembly, Ali A. Treki on May 20, 2020. This was disclosed in a May 26, 2020 letter of the UNO State of Cameroon to Prof. Martins Chia Ateh, the United Nations-appointed workshops coordinator in Cameroon and Nigeria.

Ateh said in the letter: “Greetings and thank you very much for the attached list of those who were detained in the Nkambe prison of Cameroon in August 2008.

“It is only now that the soldiers of la Republique du Cameroun are being withdrawn from the southern part of UNO State of Cameroon.” He said it was a good thing Treki kept the records straight.

On UN’s creation of a new country in Africa, Ateh said: “I should be getting back to you once the United Nations finishes with an official announcement on the existence of UNO State of Cameroon to the international community.”

While conceiving the new state, the former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan invited former President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria and Biya of Cameroon to sign documents respecting their countries’ international boundaries.

It was learnt that Obasanjo and Biya signed the documents in March 2003 to cede their twin territories (Northern and Southern Cameroons) to the proposed UNO new country in West and Central Africa.

The UN, according to recent reports, pledged to actualize a new State of Cameroon on July 10, 2020.

Residents of Southern Cameroon were excited over the merger of their land with Northern Cameroon in Nigeria, comprising 24 local government areas in Borno (five), Adamawa (12) and Taraba (seven) states.

The Guardian learnt that the Southern Cameroon residents have since last year during their agitations to separate tagged the UNO State of Cameroon as “Ambazonia.”

In Nigeria, the new country’s landmass extends from Bakassi Peninsula in Cross River State to Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State in the Lake Chad region.

While responding to ceding five local government areas from Borno State, an aide to Governor Babagana Zulum said: “We’ll study the recent unfolding developments on ceding Bama, Gwoza, Dikwa, Kala/Balge and Ngala councils to the UNO State of Cameroon.

“The state government will also be liaising with federal agencies on how to cede the affected local government areas as Obasanjo and Biya had signed documents with the UN to respect their international boundaries.”

According to the UN workshop coordinator and chairman, steering committee, Ateh, the councils to be ceded to UNO State of Cameroon, include Bama, Gwoza, Ngala, Kala/Balge, Dikwa. Others include Madagali, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, Mayo/Belwa, Toungo, Ganye, Serti, Hong, Jada, Maiha and Jada councils.

It was learnt that before the announcement of the new state, the UN had kept Northern and Southern Cameroons under watch since Obasanjo and Biya signed the documents under the UN treaty.

Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of UN, Antonio Guterres has commenced the process of sensitization towards the July 10 date of creating the new state for the Anglophone separatists in Cameroon.

According to reports, Guterres has continuously reached out to the UNrepresentative in charge of the territories, Ateh to constantly organize sensitisation workshops on the brief history of the UNO State of Cameroon.

The UN is determined and constantly fingered as an interested party in the arrangement to actualize the new state.

The Nigerian government has been urged to carry out an investigation to establish the facts surrounding the ceding of 24 local government areas to create a new country.

According to Google Map, Nigeria, particularly in the Northeast region with a decade-long Boko Haram insurgency is sandwiched between its territory and Cameroon Republics, with Bakassi Peninsula and Lake Chad located south and northeast of the UNO State of Cameroon.

The new state will have a total landmass of 28, 214 square km with an estimated population of 20 million people. Last year’s 72-hour ultimatum given by the United States (U.S.) to Cameroon to withdraw its troops from la Republique du Cameroons was heeded by President Paul Biya last month.

Before the pullout, neither the U.S nor Cameroon had responded to the expiration date until Treki asked Biya to withdraw his troops.

The Speaker of the Cameroonian National Assembly, Cavage Yeguie Djibrilhad also asked the Cameroonian government to fully implement the new law on decentralization that seeks to grant greater power to local councils and regions.

Consequently, Biya signed the law on the promotion of official language in Cameroon, settlement law of the Republic of Cameroon for2020 financial year, last December.

The bill addresses the creation of assemblies of chiefs, regional assemblies and councils with each of the two territories having elected presidents, vice president, secretaries and public affairs management controllers.
