a handful of women convert to islam and you gys are popping champaigne loooool it must be really desperate times indeed because i dont think christians even notice or acknowledge the millions who have converted to christianity from islam |
@poster depends on which of the allahs you are talking about because i am confused, there is one allah in mecca who is an idol who some ppl bow down to so clarify pls |
LagosShia:uncle abeg we christians are not your promblem, your so called muslim brethren who hate you as much as or even more than they do the christians and jews are your problem, im sorry but hope you realise the contradiction this is springing up in islam |
why exactly is banning a veil sinister would you allow a woman residing in a muslim country to wear miniskirts?it is against french tradition and way of life so if you want to live, work and reside in their country then obey their laws, even when the queen of england went to abhu dabi she covered her head like every other muslim woman in obedience of the laws she did not refuse because she was a queen in england. besides where exatly in the quran note not hadith does it say that the veil is mandatory ?i dont know why it is always people in third world developing countries that have a problem when it comes to prompt obedience of the law |
@ topic seeing as you are trying to educate and enlighten us i would like you to tell me why 1)other muslims dislike you shia muslims and are even ready to kill bomb you guys 2)which of them are the real muslims because i am confused shia or sunni |
toba:all is well thank GOD brother, been busy with some project i had and travelling back and forth to nigeria hope you have been educating and enlightening the likes of uplawal and the other internet jihadists ![]() |
uplawal uplawal i didnt know you were still into your wrong and ignorant interpretation of the bible first of all i will ask you to show me another verse in the new testament which supports your assertion that jesus christ meant the physical slaying.once you can do that i will show you a verse in the bible which shows that jesus christ did not mean a physical slaying but spiritual as he always did in explaining and teaching |
santanovva:i dont know why this DEAD thrwead has been re ignited again!!!however i suggest you have a right to your own PERSONAL opinions but dont try and justify a weak and watery opinion with some unfound allegations.if you are making assertions you should make it with cogent and verifiable proofs not innuendos and untruths!! @ralphi64 i dont even know where to start with your comments, if you assert that you were bound by evil spirits, then i agree with you after all you know yourself more than anyone, however how and why is tb joshua's ministry responsible for this ?you are really hillarious honestly lol lol from being bound by evil spirits---you got delivered same day you landed in nigeria----then you become an emergency fire fire prophet whom the lord showed a specific vision concerning tb joshua and the lord even opened your eyes to ephesians you should sell your script to nollywood , in the part two i am sure you will probably see a vision of where tb joshua has buried his occultic powers, ![]() |
i have not been on nairaland much in the past couple of months and reading this news was a huge and incomprehensible shock to me.i didnt know him personally but we have had a number of intellectual sparrings in the politics and religious debates over the years and even after changing my screenie.this is a huge shame at the loss of a promising young man to some senseless violence. i will enjoin seun osewa with the co-ordinators of the politics religious section to write the family in an official capacity and inform them of our condolences as nairalanders, most importantly for them to know that he had another life,a vibrant life and was well liked and loved on here by thousands of people who are mourning with them in this difficult and sorrowful time ![]() |
rhd cars are shipped to nigeria regularly and there is absolutely no embargo on them, the only situation where frsc will seize a rhd car is if it is being driven about on nigerian roads.and this is not a new innovation, and it was part of the reason i couldnt use my own car when i was in nigeria because i was warned of the conscequences if it was not converted. as for converting before selling, almost all car buyers know that the first thing to check for in a car to know if it has been converted is under the floorboards of the passenger side, which will show the mark.once you convert a car and try to pass it on as if it was from the manufacturer,a prospective buyer will not touch the car with a ten foot pole because they will believe there might be more hidden faults. it is better to come out clean, and give a realistic discount factoring in the conversion costs and a couple of tens of thousands below the market price to encourage buyers.my experience while trying to sell my car then was most buyers saying they would have preffered taking it to their own engineer who will do the conversion than someone they cannot vouch for,and nigerian mechanics are doing an awesome job these days on conversion, gone are the days when a conversion had problems after some months or years, |
Siena:dude whatever,my point is that the statement or comment has no truth in it Siena:lhd/rhd it was obviously a mistake so i ll suggest we both stick to the thread rather than bothering on semantics Siena:dude,i will implore you earnerstly to stop casting negative aspersions upon my person,or else subsequent comments from me will not be this polite, the only reason i am solemly addressing you in spite of your comments is because you v been a hep in the past.that is not a lincence for you to speak to me as if you r talking to your houseboy Siena:if you were not being subjective, which has blinded you to the whole nucleus of my comments, being an automobile engineer which you profess to be you would have realised that what i simply meant was that cars from the uk could be sent to lagos and sucessfully converted, any of my 500 or less comments would have shown you that i am neither a car dealer neither do i hope to be one anytime soon neither am i an automobile genius which you are bent on shoving down my throat. the poster asked about selling a right hand drive in lagos, and i shared my own experience regarding the topic so what exactly are you on about??like i always warn people before posting my own retorts in kind, i believe you are an adult,so i will earnerstly implore you to simply ignore my comments,if you find it ignorant/offensive or irritating to yourself, i never addressed my comments to you neither did i solicit for anyone to buy a car, a word is enough for the wise, and i promise you that i wont be this cool if you send back these kind of retort sire |
poster, it will be illegal to do that.
i m sorry sire but this is a big lie,i sent a lefty crv to lagos and sold it sucessfully cleared from lagos port and i am shortly sending my 2003 rav4 left hand drive in about 3 months from now @poster i will only advice you based upon my own experience, i will advice you to make sure you ship it through lagos, and also it is beter to sell the car while it is a left hand drive so that the buyer will go and do the conversion themselves, even though you will sell for less,if you factor in the conversion costs and the hassles you will realise that the difference wont be more than 100 grand or therebouts. also people tend to be sceptical and afraid if they cant vouch for your conversion, but will happily buy the car and take it to a mechanic they are sure of ,also the 50-70 grand reduction on market price that i sell the few lefty i have sent to lagos has always been a great catalyst for people to opt for my own car over the american one due to the massive discount, both the avensis and the 406 are great cars that nigerians are looking for so you will sell them fairly quick if the price isnt too dear however make sure the 406 is from 1999 you will know this by looking at the break lights at the back. make sure there is like a small demercating line between the breaklight at the back |
@poster mybe the reason why you are not getting much replies is because your enqiry is a lit bit vague, already you know what you want and how to go about it hence it follows that you should at least know the basic equipment you will need. when setting up a thread of this sort,it ll be helpful for you to ask direct questions, it ll get more responces for instance i expect you will know the machine used to make the shawarma seeing as you know how to do it. secondly i expect you will know the ice cream maker you are after. and other equipments like spoons, scoops, apron ice cream toppings e.t.c how to get the stuffs to make the ice cream e.t.c i ll suggest you go on alibaba.com and search for the shawarma maker once you have gotten the name you will surely find something there |
Sagamite:this is really funny your friend/helper is attacking from the front, while you are cutting off any retreat from the flank, military formation i ve read your posts again and what i could deduce from it is that you want the bbc doumentary to balance the story as it were by showing smartly suited up nigerians, the lovely houses and cars,i will ask you for the upteenth time pls do tell me to what purpose will this be either in the short run or long run?? why the need to project a personae to the outside world that we all know is totally fake and contrived??have you read the reports of aid agencies, internatioal ngos e.t.c on nigeria?? what you seem to be saying is that the rich/priviledged,the middle class who at least have a choice should be given even more bandwidth to the detriment of the dirt poor if the likes of the young smart bankers for instance are given a platform in the documentry, will the girl in the third installment or mr chubbey or the machine operator andthe 2 young boys have a voice? i dont know about you,but i have lived and schooled in lagos all my life before travelling out,and i have never heard of these places in my life Sagamite:cant we all get along?why the curses on a very nice sunday/monday?? i reject it in jesus name ![]() Sagamite:believe it or not majority of lagosians do live horrible lives through no fault of their own, second every documentary has its focus and this one's is towards these demographic. the title welcome to lagos,is meant to showcase another lagos which many including myself have not heard or seen before, i dont know why you all are shouting over a completely objective potrayal of living conditios in lagos ghettoes, why didnt the christians in egypt who were shown living in dump complain? why didnt channel 4 balance the documentary by showing egyptianhristians living i mansions? like my dad says, there s no cheating in a photograph it ll show you exactly how you look and pose, we are being shown what we look like and the onus is on us to get off our collective asses and do something to help those guys |

Kobojunkie:as much as he wants to do his part, the problem lies partly in the bobby trapped presidential seat he is occupying.after all we are told that all it takes is for the law officer of the federation and enough money to bribe to prove that he is not qualified yet to wield some of the powers he s using presently. the boat of the nation is wobbly right now and his priorities are stabilising the country, while doing enough good works for nigerians to look at him favourably concerning 2011.he has to sort out the iwu problem, efcc and the security implication of the army chiefs acting funny.while not mentioning the ever present vultures including obasanjo and the others trying to take advantage of his weakness. tinubu and fashola might not have a nationwide political influence and appeal, but it is really easy for tinubu especially to upset the applecart as it were.he is rich, generous with the looted funds and has nothing to lose. look at what he did in the south west pdp controlled states, he pushed his commissioners to the southwest states,to cause trouble even against the might of incunbent governors by contesting and then pumping enough money |
GODSON2009:first off, sorry for trying to reason with you, having read a couple of your comments i now have a clear understanding of your murky and border line disturbed mind set, however in order not to reduce myself to an intelectual pygmy i will leave you to do the ranting and raving while i confine myself strictly to the issues this thread is trying to address.i see you are one of those whoget off by insultive comments and stuffs which doesnt help the credibility or validity of your comments i hope reading through your own comment, both to me and to others on here,my description of some people which you seem to be the poster face of i.e ignorant, delusional is apt and i dare say describes you to the letter t. GODSON2009:and out of the whole programme, the people that got deserved breaks e.t.c all that you could garner from it is the title'welcome to lagos' are you kidding me looolGODSON2009:neither does yours, but judging by the comments and interests the documentary has brought to the fore, many have the same mind set as i do, GODSON2009:yes,because of their perception, their tv production company commissioned the documentary and the aims and objectives they set out to achieve was met.if you want them to show your own delusional perception of lagos i.e the mansions in vgc you are not likely to ever set foot in,the billion naira mansions in ikoyi you ar most likely not to set foot in . tinubu and atiku's mansions in ikoyi, olabode george's mansion in v.i donald duke's luxury blocks of flats and personal residence in ikoyi e.t.c then you are free to get a camera and make your own documentary called the real fce of lagos, how majority of lagosians live. GODSON2009:no it isnt wrong, and at the risk of repeating myself,an average student who can raise the exhorbitant fees e.t.c is more likely to be from the middle class.that was not the demographicsbeing shown they are giving the invinsible in our society who cannot even afford a decent one bedroom face me i face you a break! ocal slender, joseph mr chubbey the saw mill operator, baba toyin cannot dream of gathering 300,000 together talk less of living the lifeof a student GODSON2009:well,maybe as usual they(the documentary makers)believe in celebrating the poor and giving them centre stage for a change.like they did with the child witches documentary happening in our backyard GODSON2009:dude,calm down with the pretty please, i am male and straight! well then maybe all the bbc were doing is celebrating these pple and putting them on the centre stage for once like i mentioned earlier? GODSON2009:i have never asserted that the middle class are not going through their own day to day struggles as well, but again you seem not to realise that people/lagosians in that demographic makes up the majority of lagosians, the non xsistent middle class you are on about in lagos probably do not make up 10% of the total population.the pertinent difference between theose gys and the middle class is that the midle class have a choice, they dont . GODSON2009:no basis for comparison,to set up a business you wuld have a roof over your head, food to eat and money in the bank. GODSON2009:dude,chill ut so you dont burst a cruial vein upstairs |
@sagamite first off, sorry for trying to reason with you, having read a couple of your comments i now have a clear understanding of your murky and border line disturbed mind set, however in order not to reduce myself to an intelectual pygmy i will leave you to do the ranting and raving while i confine myself strictly to the issues this thread is trying to address.i see you are one of those whoget off by insultive comments and stuffs which doesnt help the cridbiity or validity of your comments i hope reading through your own comment, both to me and to others on here,my description of some people which you seem to be the poster face as ignorant, delusional is apt and i dare say describes you to the letter t. Yes, actually there was a need. When you jump on a post and castigate people that have given strong points as "delusional nigerians", "plain ignorants" and "illiterates". That tells me either you did not read the posts, hence it was necessary I cast aspersions on your obvious ignorance, OR you read them, which in that case shows I have showed a lot of restraint being at aspersions level only and not gettting the verbal shotgun out. GO BACK AND READ THE POSTS. If you are going to do a programme you named "Welcome to Lagos", logically it makes sense to show a diverse range of people of Lagos, not just focus on the poorest of the poor. What interests you does not matter Jack. So because of western people's perception, it is wrong to show the struggle of a Banking Officer getting to work or having to go around in a job called "marketing" but is looking for deposits? It is wrong to show these westerners that there are OAU, UI, ULag grads in Lagos trying to build the economy? So what if they show the rich? Is it not a nice contrast with the excessively poor to emphasis the injustice? Quote from: GODSON2009 on Today at 12:42:46 AM 2.i hope you also realise these so called bankers and middle class live relatively well off compared to the likes of joseph, vocal slender e.t.c? let us be totally honest,if the bbc had not shown joseph, eric obuh and other young men and women like him who would have given them a break?? you want bbc to showcase clean shaven and well suited nigerians driving their cars and going to work, while the dregs of society, the invinsibles are neglected, sorry but white people are not and dont think like we black people. They have been extremely brilliant documentaries, no doubt, and I am sure the producers would win awards. But uou want to tell me if the BBC dug well, they would not find a middleclass Naija youth, against all odds of the govt, doing something exceptional? The Seuns that are running business like NL or his likes in other spheres setting up enterprises without access to constant electricity or bank credit? In 3 fffing episodes? @post you think bringing beyonce is beans? the fact that adenuga's general manager and chief financier(ibb) brought joe for his son's wedding doesnt mean mike adenuga will follow suit. even though he is stupendouly rich, including ibb's laundered money that he is helping to manage,he will feel 2 million dollars dropping out of his pocket for less than 2 hrs performance, im sure when he realised that ll the money to calll all the nigerian musicians, including king sunny ade including spraying them fom now till next week will not be up to half of beyonce's fees,as a business man he though it through and made a financially prudent decision |
Sagamite:first of all,was there any need for the insults?or casting aspersions on my level of intlelligence?? addressing your comments specifically, irrespective of the title of the documentary why dont you answer the questions i psed in my comments earlier? 1.how exactly would showing the mansions in vgc, lekki and ikoyi help the credibility of nigeria and nigerians? bearing in mind that the perception of nigerians abroad is that of scammers and a nation fuelled by rogue and corrupt leaders? why would i want to see the mansions when i dont own any of them to start with so you want bbc to showcase and feed the ego of corrupt politicians and their cronies byshowing off their mansions?? 2.i hope you also realise these so called bankers and middle class live relatively well off compared to the likes of joseph, vocal slender e.t.c? let us be totally honest,if the bbc had not shown joseph, eric obuh and other young men and women like him who would have given them a break?? you want bbc to showcase clean shaven and well suited nigerians driving their cars and going to work, while the dregs of society, the invinsibles are neglected, sorry but white people are not and dont think like we black people. did you see the pride in the machine operator's face after collecting the keys to a dilapidated wooden kiosk as a room,?did you see the little children working in the sawmills under dangerous conditions who should be in school? did you see mr chubbey and his family? eric obuh and his appaling living conditions? joseph and how hard he s working late on weekends to give his little girl a birthday? did you see hausas, ibos, yorubas all working together in harmony how well run the supposed ghetto and jungle was being run,the love, togetherness, perseverance, optimism that exists and cuts across the two episodes? these are the pertinent isses that the documentary has sought to address and it has suceeded. go and check vocal slender's my space, already he is getting hits in the thousands, and has a facebook profile i am sure it is only a matter of time before te music industry takes notice of him,and he will hopefully extend this to his friends in the slums. remember it took only daddy showkey to highlight ajegunle ghetto and give many ppl a break let us get off our high horse and drop that wounded ego of ours!!we should be happy at the documentary and work hard at reforming and cleaning up our acts, i personally have never been to makoko or even heard about it before even though i was born and bred in lagos, same as that olusoun dump or the abattoir and it was an eye opener for me |
personally, and this is a personal opinion i really dont want to see what is going on in lekki free trade zone,i dont want to know what is going on in lekki phase 1,vgc asokoro e.t.c because i dont own properties there. i dont need to be reminded of how much politicians and their cronies have rped us and our resources,i will rather watch the bbc sries over and over again to discover and applaud the resourefullness, postive optimism e.t.c of the average nigerian i preffer following the progress of vocal slender than some white washed lekki free trade zone whch is geared towards the upper crust oligarchs in the society |
the sad but true fact from what i have seen of lagos and nigerian politics is that as long as the cost of political campaigning in nigeria is that hight and exhorbitant there will be coruption. as long as the filthy lucres and unaccounted funds and power are not curbed then there will always be corruption. unless we are being delusional, fashola and is cronies are more or less like the rest,he has to raise the billions of naira for his campaign re election fund somewhere he has to raise the funds for his own personal account, political jobbers have to be settled including the godfather tinubu e.t.c everybody know this, and people are only hailing fashola not because he is seen as deaing above board, but because he is at least better than the rest and worst of his ilk. i can bet you that this case will go the way the others for some of the following reasons 1.the head of the probe agaist fashola in the state house, was on his (fashola's)entourage just this last foreign trip he got back from, meaning they are at least seeing eye to eye, obvious biase 2.jonathan cannot risk dealing with too many heavy weights all at once, with the ibori debacle going on,halliburton staring him in the face embarrasingly the ex ministers, ogbulafor and governor's forum e.t.c he needs all the good will he can garner right now and especially need tinubu and fashola's support. |
@post i am a nigerian who has always stood up to be counted anywhee i go internationally, and i have never een ashamed of being nigeria when i read the comments of nigerians on the bbc blog,i was honestly ashamed of being a nigerian, apart from the fact that the objetives of the documentary was achieved, unlike other foreign documentaries that are patronising, they actually celebrated the demographics who are traditionally invinsible in the nigerian society. if nothing vocal slender's music career has been given a boost just because of that documentary, and it has shown the outside world that the negative perceptionof the ghettoes is far from the truth, including the resoursefullness, the never say die attitude, positive optimism. the questions i have for the people protesting is this 1.how many of you can actually afford the multi mllion dollars houses you want the bb to show on tv?if you cant whay then are you using phensic for another person's panadol? 2.would you rather the bbc bury our problems under the artificial whitewashing of our broken country??i guess you woud rather people like vocal slender,mr chubey ,joseph e.t.c all lived and died without being given any recognition?? one conclusion have come to is that the only people who are protesting against the depiction and focus of the documentary are either delusional nigerians. the wealthy in our society who would have wanted bbc to show their mansions in the high brow areas of lagos or plain ignorant and illiterates and i will make sure i posit my stance so posterity ill not count me amogst them |
please whom ever the moderator on here is will you stop behaving like a 5 yr old?? i posted a comment twice and it was with held for whatever reason,i did not curse neither did i abuse the guy or anyone concerned i have looked through the comments on here and i have seen similar comments to mine yet they v been allowed,if it gives you some warped and morbid pleasure playing a tin god with whatever icon on your computer you have een given to remoe comments at will, then remove this comments as well. but it jus shows your level of reasoning and your thouht process RUBBISH!!! |
@poster continue to deceive yourself, about some books of moses. i hope you realise that it is solely for the sake of acceptablity, that the devil preffers to use the bible and GOD's name in his texts, can you imagine how many people will actually read the book if called "the book of satan" or beelzebub's thoughts" or somehing of that nature. calling some books of moses part of the bible,is the same thing as believing that dead people come to live as ghosts to haunt, speak to loved ones e.t.c when it is obvious that they are familiar spirits the devil is using to deceive. if you are resident in the united kingdom,i will suggest you watch sky 531 by 11pm or thereabouts, and you will hear the experiences of those who have dabbled into dark arts and how they have been possesed and their bodies, souls and sprit taken over by the said spirit. as for those telling you they have read it and all that,i l advice you to ask them what good it has brought them, has it brought them riches, wealth e.t.c?after all if you ask pastor adeboye, oyedepo, tunde akare e.t.c what good the holy spirit has brought them,it is clear to see |
this depends on where you are resident,if you are abroad then there are several audio visual companies who would sort you out, america seems to be your best bet because there are no drive thrus inthe uk but you must be very careful to seek out expert opinions and not just general opinions on here as we are talking of a lot of money here good luck |
really really really sad, one more indictement on the shocking state of affairs in our country, what manner of desperation will make a married man risk his life in such a manner?may he r.i.p |
loooool it must be really desperate times indeed because i dont think christians even notice or acknowledge the millions who have converted to christianity from islam
WONDERS SHALL NEVER END
well , that contrary to the popular perception of lagos state especially the ghettoes as being lawless, inhabited by criminals and ner do wells, the documentary has shown the resoursefull ness, positive optimism, the democratic way in which the dump for instance was run by the leader even when vocal slender got into trouble and how fund was raised for him e.t.
not that dumb am i?lol
and what exactly has that todo with ADULTS in lagos ghettoes??,
You can't even quote posts properly without making a hash of things, so how do you expect to be able to reason logically and sensibly tackle such posts
