EMMY76: Sometimes I do wonder how come ffk personally knows more than 90% of all nigerian politicians? He will always claim to know most of them for decades even if they are not from his ethnic group, religion or political party. The man is really a great political networker. ffk is the son of a former deputy premier of the south west region so surely because of his father he is well known, whether he has been a good ambassador from such heritage is a different matter |

AreaFada2: Charisma? Tunubu is charismatic?
Bubu is not contesting again, he doesn't care. But the North want the party to scatter sef. A foolish Northern politician is like the brightest Southern politician.
Fulani have been playing domination politics since Uthman Dan Fodio. Directly or indirectly they checkmated Awo at every turn despite his brilliance. Through SLA against Awo, Omoboriowo against Ajasin, coming between Zik & Awo at independence, etc.
The North have weighed all the scenarios. They won't allow a strong-willed and over-ambitious Southerner like OBJ near FG power again. They will rather do a coup. . You see how Osinbajo is doing boy-boy following them. That's normally the right strategy. A pastor and law professor who says nothing when his tribesmen are or fellow Christians are being butchered. If only Tinubu was NOT his godfather. They know that Osinbajo is playing along and they have analysed it all.
SW should better queue behind any SW politician the North wants to annoint. Be it Fayemi, Fashola, Amosun or even Aregbe. I know they will. They rejected OBJ in his first term. I guess that was because SW had another horse in the race. Nobody will decide for the SW the candidate they want, it will be a consensus from the SW cos there are even multiple interests alone from the SW so who the hell is the north to decide? can they win any election alone? abegi |

Ayed44: Just as OBJ was not the kind of leader the SW wanted um 1999..…
If the north decided to mercifully gift the SW the presidency, they will not give it to a candidate the SW wants. They will rather give it their stooge from the SW. na there kasala go burst, we rather go back to the opposition then. |

I think once Dangote refinery starts, that is the next agenda- to privatize that shit called refineries. |

seunmsg: Fayemi has activated the self-destruct bottom. He will destroy the party in Ekiti if National leaders refused to intervene. This is the same way Fayose destroyed Ekiti PDP until the party lost the governorship election to APC. Fayemi is doing exactly the same thing. Fayemi knows his ambition cannot fly, hence kuku scatter everything, that's his plan and he will still fail. |
Politics › Re: APC Suspends Kayode Fayemi Over Anti-Party Activities by Goke7: 12:11pm On Sep 25, 2020 |
AreaFada2: Fayemi said so early this year already. That only Buhari in govt is holding APC together. Nothing else after May 2023.
Fayemi has the ears of Northern power juggernauts, He's the most favoured SW politician for 2023. With El-Rufai as VP. Fayemi presidential ambition cannot fly, he is not the charismatic kind of leader the SW wants, las las, the ACN in APC will pull out and the APC will be deflated and PMB cannot risk that. |

hush15: I disagree with you to an extent. I know Lagos very well like the back of my palm. On Ambode, I wouldn't say he did a great disservice as such cos if you understand the corrupt bureaucracy of the lawma system, it is almost occultic and the players are majorly party loyalist who are benefitting from the largess at the expense of the state government. Do you know how much those lawma guys rake in a month? Collecting minimum of N3000 from every residential flat and N5000 from commercial premises! And the money is share to a few who are allowed to operate the trucks, most of them are funders, loyalist, party faithfuls of the bourdillon clan. You can't just get a truck and be part of the FAM, you have to be something. A strong political backing especially the ruling party.
Ambode is aware of this and he knows that funding for some of the political weight also comes from this structure hence why he decided to turn the tables around. He wanted to change the approach, then the state to control it and not some political godfathers but he wasn't careful and not gradual. He didn't think it thru on his strategy. However, nobody is perfect. Apart from that the guy tried.
If I were in his shoes on waste management, I would open up the business to every and any lagosians that can afford to run a truck and reassign locations of coverage and ensure standards. That way, clean Lagos will be sustain will rebuilding the system that has been so manipulated and defrauded by these political godfathers. Although that small experience taught them not to take the operations for granted cos they have no excuse now. Ambode was a fool, if the bill was too much, then use your executive power to reduce it, that's what brilliant leaders do. Any wise leader will not fix what's not broken. The LAWMA and the BRT system [political or not] were working excellently well that Ghana and other west african countries came to Lagos to learn. Lagos was getting cleaner by the day even places like ijora. In my area they had an office where you can go personally to pay and get official receipt which can also be used as utility bill for documentations like bank account opening and the likes. It was a perfect system working so well that twice a week Tuesdays and Thursdays the LAWMA trucks comes to my street to pack all the trash. It was also a scheme employing hundreds of thousands of people. What is good is good. Ambode messed up the Lagos environment all because of his greed and he was simply booted out, since then it's been difficult to get back to that perfect system cos it's so easy to build than destroy. Another Ambode failure was relegating the Lagos State Public works that was fixing state roads through the direct labour system where hundreds of thousands of Lagosians were employed, this is why Lagos roads became so bad and the present govt is trying to revive that again. Another system was the women empowerment skills program that the former deputy gov adefulire was coordinating where women were taught baking, tailoring and so on for free, My mum and sisters were beneficiaries and run their small scale businesses today. Ambode cancelled that as well which angered even the civil servants. You can't keep throwing out the baby water and the baby itself. Ambode met lots of working systems in Lagos but messed it up due his personal lack of exposure and tact. He is the reason everyone feels those before him and the present govt are not doing enough. He slowed down the Lagos development master plan. |

I can assure you sha, PMB go soon show face to commission the 2nd NP with his name written on the stone at the bridge head to eternally remind you that the man you hate so much built and commissioned that bridge.
God Bless PMB, the man that rewards your hatred with action, with love, care and infrastructures. Honestly, it will be a massive shame not only to the igbos but to all of us in the south. IBB commissioned third mainland bridge, PMB will surely commissioned 2nd Niger bridge, what major infrastructure can we even say Obj commissioned? rail, bridge, nothing, even a governor in the person of BRF commissioned the mercurial Lekki-Ikoyi bridge [now a critical infrastructure in Lagos] PDP is a disaster yet some folks want them back in aso rock. hope we no de craze for this naija sha |

SLAP44: Now listen to civic education 102, second semester.
A senator who sponsors a bill and or lobbies for a project can get stuck with it if the executive is not interested in the bill/ project. I will also teach you that in a situation where the Senate or house of reps is a rubber stamp, one where the Senate head is also a puppet of the executive, he can kill bills which the executive hates, or exclude projects from a part of the country to please the executive. The project / bill won't even make it out of the first reading.
Blame your senators, hold your governors, arrest your reps ghen ghen ghen as if there is no president to deliver on his lies during the campaign.
Hope you're taking notes. I don't want you to come back next year due to a carry over. Oga for once admit your ignorance of procedures, it doesn't hurt. You only get to know more |
Politics › Re: When Will Fg Build Lagos To Onitsha Rail? by Goke7: 9:58pm On Sep 24, 2020 |
NGpatriot: When it comes to funds, the bucks doesn't stop with the president, it stops with the Senate/legislature, it's called separation of powers. The executive can not fund anything without the approval of the Senate.
The president can propose or seek anything, it's up to the Senate and the people in charge of the money to make it happen.
The senate can even slash or remove the entire thing from the budget. Didn't Saraki slash N30 billion from the president's Lagos Ibadan expressway construction budget?
You voted for and elect reps and senators to represent, speak for you and look out for your interest for a reason, not to go to Abuja to do sit and look, it's their job to make things happen for you back home.
This is civic education 101. When saraki slashed the budget the other day they were all over this forum celebrating, they never knew saraki slashed the railway away from their end. The igbos used emotions to misunderstand governance, when it backfires, they start crying all over the place |

Why do you resort to lies? Otedola is know as a billionaire not as the son of a formal governor. He is not the only son of his father. And his family don't have to be active in politics for him to become governor , stop your conspiracy theories Going by your foolish logic, any billionaire can be governor then . Ask Jimi Agbaje about the money he has been spending on elections. |

Am bode state of origin is ondo state Otedola state of origin is Lagos state Tinubu state of origin is osun state
Otedola Is Lagos Otedola is not that popular bruv, he is like another saraki riding on the wings of his father who was former Lagos governor [that alone is a disadvantage to him as the father [NRC] won because of the crisis in the then SDP which was a lesson in history for Lagos politics] The Otedola family has not been known to be active in the Politics of Lagos since then. |

Waka pass. Osun was difficult to crack because of the salary arrears Aregbeshola owed despite doing very well in infrastructure. The civil service in Lagos and other state employees hardly have salary issues, for example a whole LATSMA recently had their salaries doubled. Lagos state civil service is massive enough to swing votes, so many state govt agencies that are filled with APC members as employees, it's a tough one to crack mhen |

candidtalk: Guy, quit the ignorant talk. Lagos is not about Tinubu. Forget what you have heard. Lagos has the most complex and sophisticated politics in Nigeria with even local government chairmen being academically and professionally sound enough to be Governor.
No disrespect but talking of the likes of Edo and Bayelsa, to qualify Lagos politics, is like comparing rural African Villages where people rum around naked to London, New York or Paris.
The layers of Lagos politics will dumbfound everyone not conversant with the structure of politiciking in the State. Goodluck with the Otedola fantady though. this is what most ignorant folks don't know.
