PapiDShipCapt: I could have easily listed top European n South American teams but our emphasis is on AFCON qualifiers, the likes of SA, BF, Zambia e.t.c have all qualified why is qualification so difficult for SE team. SE managerial approach is very lame compared with the listed teams, there is no room for transition too. My grievance is focused on the coach not the team, please understand me. Players don't assemble themselves in readiness to a match, a coach do. Players come players go, the team remains Super Eagles. Can we also say the same for coach? So it is the responsibility of the coach in charge to do his homework, get a list of tested players and select his team. 2.3 years running with SE yet he is still testing players.
If you are on a live telecast and you are asked the tactical approach of your coach with our last match as a case study, can you give an answer without a collapse in thoughts? We could easily spot the tactic implored in the match btw home based SE vs Ghana in Akwa Ibom encounter.
My point is, Keshi is out of ideas he should be relieved off his duty. A good coach makes good decision, commands authority (not pride) and respect that is visibly seen in the player right on the field of play. Thank you Am sorry to disappoint you but as long as keshi keeps grinding out results in very important matches, it will become more difficult to sack keshi, even the nff knows that and that's why nff wanted to stylishly removed him after the sudan game. Going back to your managerial issues with keshi, are u aware that this is the least talented bunch of Nigerian players we'ever heard even with the coming back of uche and may be martins or ihenacho, the managerial issues you are complaining about has to do with the attitude and approach of our players to the game. Our players are not up to scratch at all, they are all becoming too complacent, do you know that some folks are even saying that onazi, emenike and ambrose should be dropped? these are all regulars. Mikel with his brilliant performance against congo was even furious with onazi. These guys and others are the ones making keshi looks like a bad coach. A player can't give what he does not have you know, keshi has not run out of ideas, he simply does not have the players to execute his ideas, which of our players is a specialist in set piece? is it keshi that will teach set peices at this stage of their professional career? can you see the diemension aaron samuel has brought to the team? that is what emenike should be doing. My brother keshi is not the problem, if he has his way, he will prefer the home lads that played against the Ghanaians but you guys will come up here again to accuse him of dropping our best players. Coaching in Nigeria is not easy and if we sack keshi, we would also have same problems with the new coach. Keshi has simply overachieved with the quality of players we have at our disposal presently. Outside Nigeria, keshi is seen as a great coach due to the kind of players we have now who are not world class. Let's be sincere. |

PapiDShipCapt: It was due to continuous bashing n lashing that made him brought back uche. when countries like Ghana, Morocco, SA, civ, zambia, BF etc, have a match, you could quote the sqaud. The reverse is the case for SE. till now keshi doesn't have a sqaud he doesn't know who field while he favours some even when they are not informed.
come wednesday you will see him parading faces with the excuse that he is building a team. Okay Our so called foreign based players even till now don't have a team play and there is a coach managing the team for a while now. how would a team who has played Nation cup, confederation cup, and world cup competition still play like a novice? it means the coaching crew r not performing. As a coach, he is supposed to discard 1 n half legged players and replaced them with better ones but because of favoritism he ignores. Not those dismal performances from ambrose n co.
Players are always agile when playing under a good coach in other not to loose their place in the team, but SE players r not because they tink they are irreplaceable.
(correct me if am wrong) We have seen fine players from our junior teams in recent past but we can't find any graduated into the present SE sqaud under Keshi the team builder.
I wish the Eagles well even in their disgraceful performances otherwise I wouldm't have placed a bet in their favour against Congo. @the bolded, the way we compare our country to countries who haven't achieved even up to what we have achieved in the last three years is appalling. sorry to say this, your post is so biased and lacks substance |

If u ask me,na who I go ask abi o na who me sef go ask but seriously our players must learn to be more humble, its not as if we have messi or ronaldo in our team, many of our players are even bench warmers in their club so who are they not to respect the coaches or admnistrators afterall if they do well they are the one who receive all the dollars so what's their problem? |

vokalguy: Bro, we do.... we have raw talents that can be molded. Keshi is the coach, I am curious to know what he does during the period the super eagles are not playing any games. Don't you think that is when he should be watching the Nigerian Premier League (afterall he believes in the home based players). He should have stats of the players compiled (best attacker, defender, midfielder) Common men, its 2014, gathering stats is not complicated, it will help make his job easier. We might not be able to get the next okocha but we sure can get someone close to being Okocha. And I believe with the right personnel, we can play the eye catching football. It hurts to see my team struggle, this is my country we talking about, not even a club team. The truth is Keshi is ready to give more opportunities to the home based players but will Nigerians and the Nff allow him? |

samtol4: Musa is a good player no doubt but most times he lack football sense ,he has d speed but not intelligent doing counter attacks, weather he scores hatrick or brace he will be good he comes in doing the 2nd half when the opponents are tired and worn out thanks for your explanation which shows musa's level of ability, i think we should accept him they way he is until we get a better option, castigating him all the time is not a welcome idea. The truth is the players we have now are playing all they know to how to do, nobody can give what they do not have, the earlier we accept that our players are not world class, the better for us, the clubs they play for in europe tells us more about their abilities. expecting musa to play like Neymar or Hazard is a big joke. |

TheCongo: Hey Nigeria, I am from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I want to congratulate you on your victory.
I think there is a great probability that the person who wrote the article "congo fans attack super eagles" may have misinterpret what had happened. Usually in this part of the world, fans have the habit of throwing bottles or rocks at their own players or the coach whenever they loose a game.
I wasn't present in the stadium to say what really happened but chances are the attack by the fans was aimed at their own team and NOT at the super eagles.
Much love to you since you say you were not present at the stadium so why the defence? you are not making any sense here please |

pazienza: And can you compare the quality of footballing talents available to westerhof, to that currently available to Keshi?
Dude, the biggest and most talented player in our current national team is Mikel Obi, and he is a bench warmer at Chelsea.
We simply don't have the talents to play the kind of eye catching football you lots want, and still win. Keshi was given sour grapes and he is making a lemonde out of it. In relation to the talents available to him, Keshi has simply over achieved. excellent analysis bro, don't mind ignorant peeps here |

With Keshi accusing some of his teamplayers for allegedly sabotaging him, HEADS WILL CERTAINLY ROLL! Keshi is just waiting for his 'time'.... truth is onazi's performance has been declining even before the world cup, but because he is the fans favourite, a lot of guys keep blaming mikel instead, onazi is thinking that he's better than mikel and its beginning to affect his game and partnership with mikel. Keshi knows this but if he should drop onazi, u guys will shout again. Do you know onazi's poor clearance made italy equalize 2-2 in that friendly we played in london? a game we would have won 2-1 |

truth is some of our players have not been doing well e.g. emenike and even onazi including players like ambrose, thank God for oshanuwa who looks set to displace under performing echeijele, this is the reason why it looks as if keshi is a bad coach but many Nigerians don't know this, they blame keshi for our players' inconsistency.
Emenike should brace up or sit back in turkey and face his club, can he try such with a white man? african players sometimes are the ones who give the leeway to african FAs to bring in carpenter foreign coaches. |

vigasimple: You are 100% correct.
Win or No win. It doesn't matter. It is too late even if SE qualify for AFCON.
Result matter but performance matter most. If you perform well most of the time, result will go your way majority of times.
Majority of KESHI's wins are fluke whether the AFCON win or world cup qualifications or at the world cup proper. Your opponents need to respect and fear you even if they are going to beat you.
The taste of the pudding is in the eating.
Pull up the videos of the last 10 games and see that if not for the love of being a Nigerian coach we have for KESHI, he shouldn't have been the coach long time ago. That's why Togo sacked him even when he qualified them for the world cup.
Anyone playing Mikel Obi with those ridiculous performance is not worth a SE coach.
After qualification results we should thank him for his services and get rid of him before he cause long term damage to the SE and the country football and image as a whole. We should stop being sentimental.
He has no tactical/technical knowledge of the game as a coach. oh boy you've made no sense at all, for your information, Nigeria has a dearth of quality players in this present generation, this is what is making keshi looks like a bad coach, emenike has not scored for a year now, how is it keshi's fault. Keshi has been grinding out results with average players. The Uche u guys have been clamouring for played today, I thought he will score a hat trick with all the hype, it took a chinco product like aaron samuel to be a game changer for the eagles in two games now, thanks to keshi for discovering such a player and you are here blabbing. You guys should thank President Jonathan even if you don't like him much for saving us from amaju's silly decison of replacing keshi with amodu. All this talk about keshi lacking technical depth is looking outdated, if keshi is that bad, what happened to the tactics claude le roy used to beat the eagles in calabar, abi the white coach juju don expire? |

It will be foolhardy for us to believe that Nigeria won the match due to coaching effort. We should not just be sentimental about it; Keshi is technically and tactically deficient. If we had played against a much more technically sound and experienced team, Nigeria would have been beaten. In a nutshell, Keshi is not good enough for Nigeria. stories like this are getting stale and not making sense any longer, even chelsea, barcelona and many other big clubs have been struggling to win matches these days and have not seen people saying the coaches are not technically sound, next please |

Am sure you mean Moroccan FA instead of Egyptian FA, the truth is FIFA don't send us at all in Africa, they only care about us when its time for FIFA Presidential elections cos of the huge number of FAs on the continent which is well more than 50, It is expected they show solidarity but who cares, they even came out to say that their world club cup will go on as planned which is a big mockery on the continent. |

This only shows how disunited we are in Africa, an african nation refusing to host afcon but hosting a world club cup, hypocrites of the highest order, Anyway Morocco has just confirmed one of my opinions about North Africans over the years, they should be either be members of the asian federation or Uefa. The only reason I feel they like playing in africa is because they have more chances of winning trophies especially at the club level in the continent.
Let's not deceive ourselves they don't really feel at home playing with other africans and they have created a bad precedence especially for the northern african region. If am CAF president I will relocate CAF headquarters from Egypt. Nonsense |

thegoodjoehunt3: Neymar and Messi started well. The team went long without conceding goals. It was unfortunate Coach Enrique brought back Suarez at the wrong time.
He had not blended with the team. In the last match, Suarez looked comfortable and at home.
I see them making it together. Alright we'll see how it goes but the focus should reduce on messi especially with suarez now in the mix, real madrid has done this successfully with James rodriguez now in the mix despite the sale of di maria, they are now reaping the full potentials of a benzema and an additional chicarito who people felt was finished at man u, that is the fruit of excellent team work rather than making a player a thin god. I wish barca all the best. |
Sports › Re: Just Too Good: Neymar And Messi Shine On Internattional Duty by Goke7: 11:07am On Nov 13, 2014 |
thegoodjoehunt3: I think working together would be beneficial for Barca. However, a 4-3-3 formation with Neymar, Suarez and Messi working together could be the deadliest attack in the game today. Yes but the problem has always been looking for messi to decide which way to go unlike what you have in Real madrid where Ronaldo is no longer becoming the focal point like before. If barca does not make adjustments, Neymar may soon be frustrated like others who have left the club. Barca with Neymar, suarez and messi shouldn't have been beaten with the way Madrid hammered them, they were even lucky not to have conceeded six on the night. The three were anonymous in the second half. |
Sports › Re: Just Too Good: Neymar And Messi Shine On Internattional Duty by Goke7: 10:49am On Nov 13, 2014 |
thegoodjoehunt3: Neymar will soon over take Messi in international goals scored at such a young age. This is a football hero in the making. I think barcelona should sell messi and let Neymar be their focal point now with suarez support, I think that will be the best way for barcelona to revive their form which makes teams so wary of barcelona years ago, if not some big clubs will come again to Pry Neymar away if messi continues to be the god in barca, they should learn their lessons from the losses of ibrahimovich, sanchez, fabregas and yaya toure who are now major influences in their current clubs |

ENZOSCIFO1: In your earlier post you had said Keshi was dumb for not inviting Moses that even if he was injured'.
Like seriously how does that sound to you? Invite a player to camp even with injury Now that's a classic case of DUMB
To your second post .....you clearly showed 2 things (1) A not too grounded knowledge of the game of football . (2) A complete dis- like for Keshi.
Let me teach you...... Iheanacho is not ripe or ready for Super Eagles yet, mainly because till this very moment he has not and has never played a professional competitive football game and will not even play till about March next year. And if you are trying to point to those off season friendly matches he played for Man City then you really have a lot to learn. Check out Man Utd off season match results and season results then you know theres a huge difference. Now how you want such a young man to be thrown into the middle of AFCON qualifiers that's is highly competitive bother's me
And incase you don't know, men like you encouraged Onigbinde to cap Opabunmi 12 years ago in the senior national team at the world cup and that was the end of his national team career. Don't destroy Iheanacho with your silly opinion a beg.The boy will come good.
Lastly, for you to argue about our dearth of qualities players says it all about how long you have been following eagles. John Obi Mikel is arguably our highest profiled in-field player in Europe at the moment...... And you know what most thinks of him.....he sulks .....and that is our highest profiled player....... Do you still more evidence of lack of quality? thanks for educating the dude, am sure he listens too much to those ignorant radio sports journalists who know nothing about football. Excellent post I must say |
