Politics › Re: I Will Not Be Running For Governor Again – Jimi Agbaje Declares by Goke7: 11:06am On Apr 13, 2015
Jimi was in the wrong party and I think he was a little bit impatient, it was impossible for a pdp that Nigerians got tired of after 16 yrs in abuja to be voted into Lagos just like that. Lagosians are not that stupid! any other party even apga would have gotten Jimi in but pdp a big NO!
Politics › Re: Tinubu Blasts Party Leaders Over Loss To PDP by Goke7: 2:16pm On Apr 10, 2015
I have tried to restrained my self so long from all these issues, truth be told if pdp wins, the yorubas have themselves to blame, the voting pattern in the presidential election was scaring, I was shocked that apc could not gather 1 million votes for buhari despite the vp being youruba. Its not an igbo thing, the yorubas are divided, no matter the number of the igbos, they are not still more than the yorubas, the afenifere and opc deimension says it all, even the votes for buhari from other sw states were not encouraging. Something went wrong somewhere.

The APC Governors and leaders in the SW perhaps have been naive all along, but a quick word to everyone shouting change in lagos, nothing will change with a pdp in lagos, anybody who think latsma, kai, lekki toll gate will be a thing of the past is only joking, people are working hard for pdp's victory and they must be settled big time to the disadvantage of all lagosians but an apc govt aligning with the centre gives an edge.

Let's be wise, I can wake up 4am to drive out to work in Lagos, i don't want another ekiti please!!!!

You can bring accord, labour party even apga to lagos but not pdp, ekiti people are crying o!

Please let's stop all these, I beg everyone

The mass defection of politicians from other parties to the apc that won the presidential elections on march 28 should teach all Nigerians a lesson.
These were the parties people were abusing and killing themselves for before March 28, the same people shouting Jonathan yesterday are now shouting Buhari now, even Governors and assembly members that will be elected on Saturday the 11th of April on the platform of other parties will also decamp to the apc to align themselves with the so called centre, can't we see that these politicians are only playing the game of chess with Nigerians? They are not foes or enemies as we think, its only a game so why all the stress,

Sports › Re: Matic Is Overated, mikel Is Beta by Goke7: 9:12am On Mar 16, 2015
Someone said on this forum a while ago that Nigerians are plastic fans [which I have always agreed with], we only sing praises of players when they do well but just a slip, we turn around and slam them with our big mouths.

When matic came on the scene for chelsea, Nairaland was painted with praises for matic and even curses for mikel, even our very ignorant sports journalists and analysts both in print and electronic media rain abuses for mikel and predicted that matic will take chelsea to the promised land. Alas some people have started changing their minds again as usual saying mikel would have done better, even on radio, I heard Nigerian journalists who has been bashing mikel for years saying that chelsea now needs a mikel to help them through the remaining games in the epl.

It just shows the kind of people we are in this part of the world and why we would always have the kind of leaders leading us.

Mikel will continue to be one of Nigeria's best players ever for both club and country, thumbs up for those who truly appreciate mikel's quality even in the face of heavy criticisms for the player and shame on all those plastic fans who now feel mikel may even be better than matic. its time to grow up and stop being childish.

Generals02:
I watched the game against Sudan live at the Abuja stadium. I was happy we won but not impressed. The team was mediocre.

We were lucky the ref gave us that long an extra time in the game against south africa. Otherwise, we lost.

Keshi had no business losing to Sudan in Sudan. The team was mediocre.

Watch Manu Garba's play and understand 2 things.

1. Right players

2. Right tactics.
you guys and this your manu garba talk, nff does not interefere with garba's selection or any other unger age teams as they do with the super eagles, if manu garba become super eagles coach, nff will be the one selecting players for him.

The only time nff allowed keshi to pick his players completely, we won the nations cup even though nff felt he will fail. The world cup squad and other competitions we participated in, nff interfered with players's selection. Forget all what you read in the media, that's the truth

omonnakoda:
Honestly it is too late . Personally I won't vote because I CANNOT support Buhari but the fact is that GEJ has failed and failed badly. Let us not try to call white black. If he has done well his deeds would speak for him and he would be slapping his chest. He did not realise that 4 years is a short time and now is exam time. The mood in Nigeria is not so much in support of Buhari but so much AGAINST GEJ. It is very painful for me because I agree with much of the sentiments expressed. i.e why must a Fulani rule again.? I do not even agree with power returning to the North. But there is nothing Presidential about this man GEJ.
Let us look at his political strategy.
NUMBER ONE
From day one you know the North are your enemies why create MORE ENEMIES for himself. AMAECHI right now should be in GEJ's team ? Why is he not there? because GEJ is not smart. Even if he believed Amaechi was an enemy he should have learnt from how OBJ managed Atiku. Sun Tzu says when you are strong allow your enemy to think you are weak. He started to show power too early and for the wrong reasons. Let us ask why is it so important to back the likes of Wike
NUMBER TWO
let us look at the SW. The PDP even with the power of incumbency lost the SW region to APC in 2011. It must have been clear to any lear mind that given the bad blood in the North he MUST unite the whole of the South behind him. It is one thing to try and fail but another to fail to try.
Again he mistimed his fight with OBJ. I say this not because OBJ will get him votes in the SW,no but he woulld be a major distraction that is not needed and again he should have waited till 2015 before showing his hand. OBJ's main constituency is not the SW but the Army. They have their own code and like him or loathe him he is an unnecessary enemy. There is no Nigerian politician who can match his profile internationally.I believe he could have been settled a long time ago.Jonathan took the advice of those who believe otherwise we shall soon see who was right
MILITANTS
It is clear that GEJ is a secret sympathizer but he is partial mainly to IJAW militants not the entire Niger Delta. He has rewarded them handsomely but they cannot win elections foor him.Once again his failure to build similar structures in the SW is backfiring. The SW is not that difficult to manipulate and he could have dealt with Tinubu effectively. Looking back there is only one reason why Buhari has a chance and that is Tinubu. I find it strange that hhe has been unable to unearth enough evidence to Jail Tinubu and cripple the APC the way OBJ did. That kind of cunning requires old experienced politicians who understand the dirty tricks of Nigerian politics not the likes of Tompolo,Labaran Maku,Dieziani,Oduah etc. In short he has been enriching people who have NO VALUE to his personal interests.
He only has himself to blame. I have no doubdt that even Tinubu could have been bought. Let us imagine that Tinubu or his proxy was the one stealing all that Dieziani is alleged to have stolen we would not be having this discussion.

So from the perspective of political shenanigans GEJ has failed himself. I will not even talk about how he failed Nigerians
one of the most unbiased comments I have seen so far and very enlightening, weldone sir

A man honouring and commending his wife in Public is something that should be embraced by all whether christian, Muslim or whatever religion, its an habit that we should begin to practice especially in this part of the world. naijanoni:
Yes azeez played shit at d worldcup, but because he was used in a very wrong position by the tactically inept keshi.Playing
Azeez a natural defensive midfielder who had never played in an attacking role as the creative midfielder just behind emenike ?
BOUND TO FAIL !.
Go watch azeez in d la liga and see how well he plays, because he is been utilized in d right role.
And do u know d worst thing ?.That experiment failed woefully in azeez's 1st 2 matches(friendlies) in d SE.
But clueless keshi blindly continued to use him in that same wrong role(at d world cup against iran, and even in our 1st afcon qualifiers match against congo).
Sometimes i wonder if keshi doesn't see all these failures.

On moses,he warmed the bench throughout last season and was obviously out-of-form and match-rusty at d world cup.
Everyone knows what an in-form and sharp moses brings to d team.
All top class coaches invite players mostly based on current form.
Moses this season was in top form and lightening up d epl every week before his injury(5th best player in d epl according 2 whoscored.com),yet keshi ignored him.On obasi, balogun and joel obi,
Which coach in d world ignores a currently Fully fit in-form player becos of his past injuries or becos he is injury-prone ?.
What matters is a players current level of fitness.
And Joel obi,Balogun, obasi, had all been fully fit for over 6 months.
So thats an invalid excuse.

Sammy ameobi switched his allegiance to nigerian immediately after d world cup.
He could do anything for a nigerian shirt. He said he was working harder to impress at newcastle,so as to gain a nigerian call-up.
All that was needed was keshi to show interest, then d nff would do the rest.
Sammy has been in top form dis season. And his contribution has been very key to newcastle's recent revival.
If u say the players i mentioned are below average, then all the players keshi invited are useless.
Agreed the generation of players we have now are less talented.
But at least invite d best outside d less talented.
We may not have d talents to compete on d world stage, but in africa and against african teams like sudan, congo,SA ??,We have relatively good enough talents to compete,to even dominate africa.
Our less talented generation of players are better than the generation of players of many african countries.
So my brother players only made up about 5 % of our problem.
Keshi 60 %,NFF 35 %.
@the bolded, thank God, we both agree on this one, that's all, get more talented players and we are good to go chikena.

You failed to remember that ur Keshi has made watching super Eagles play a nightmare. Under Keshi we lacked style, the creativity and the fluidity our football is known for. You are wrong to say that he gives young players opprtunity to play. Why has he not given the likes of Iheanacho, Haruna Lukman,
Isaac promise, Alampasu and many promising youngsters a chance? In our last match against South Africa in AFCON qualifiers, he left the highest goal scorer in the Nigerian league on the bench but chose to play an Emenike that has not scored a goal for long time for the entire 90minutes. No coach worth his onion will keep inviting players like Efe Ambrose, Echejile n co to the National team. Am sorry to say this: Keshi doesnt seem humble enough to learn from the past. The move to retain Keshi is yet nother regretable decision taken by NFF!!!
keshi dropped emenike in the first half against congo, you guys shouted that he lacks man management, when keshi was using the home based lads initially, you guys said the home based guys were not good enough, when keshi invited the guy from china, you guys said chinco product no good, when the chinco guy didn't start against south africa, you guys complained again that he should have started him instead, he brought uche back for you guys and we still failed to qualify, so what else do you guys want again, una no dey tire?
