Christianity EtcPastor Chris Erects Massive Billboard-Can Someone Please Confirm How True Is It? by Goshen360(op): 10:48pm On Aug 24, 2012
With reference to this thread: Here of Pastor Chris erecting a massive billboard in divers professions. Can someone please confirm how true that billboard was and the location it was erected? I am saying this because we (Christians) should not be involved in destroying fellow Christians because of hatred. This is technology age and anybody could have done that billboard with computer designs. The word of God says, prove ALL things and hold on to that which is true. I read many Christians on that thread saying all sort of things against pastor Chris with/without the authentication of that billboard.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE CONFIRM WHERE (location) THE BILLBOARD WAS ERECTED PLEASE. Thank you.

Joagbaje: Maybe you should open a fresh thread on this for me and you only. All these Agbero posters will mess up this thread. We don't have to fight with truth. Let truth speak for it self. Whoever gets into personal attacks is not seeking truth. He is rather manipulative trying to force his opinion on others . That's fleshly and evil. It's worldly wisdom . Wisdom from above is peaceful.

James 3:14-17
But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
I/we, anti-tithe teachers have never forced my/our own "opinion" on people neither will I do that. What we are doing is what you refer to the truth. We speak the truth of God's word. Also, we are not fighting the truth rather teaching the truth to expose the falsehood in the name of God. Also, when I respond, I also made it clear that nobody should attack your person but rather, we should endeavour to treat topic. Those who attack your person are taking this issue too personal and emotional which is wrong. We should speak the truth in love.

On the issue of opening a different thread for you and I, let me think about the "effect" as for right now, I don't feel good about doing such thing. I will let you know after thinking through it. However, I feel it will be carnal doing that just for you and me only to discuss, opening a new thread. If you wish to discuss it, that's okay by me but opening another thread just for that purpose, I don't see it right anyway. However, you can open it if you want to but I wont do that for now.

Christianity EtcRe: Is church an investment?? by Goshen360(m): 6:01pm On Aug 23, 2012
Joagbaje: I was speaking inline with biblical principles. Every one should follow his revelation and faith conviction

Romans 14:5
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

Everyone who believe
Well, let's not go too deep into the issue of being persuaded in one's mind. I will rather prefer we leave that statement of Apostle Paul within the context, not when certain teachings are very clear in the word of God.

On your response on who and who the bible was written to, I will also take your response as an answer BUT more specifically, the bible is written to the JEWS, GENTILES and Everyone who believe (where your answer came to be right), and everyone who believes are JEWS AND GENTILES who are both called the CHURCH OR BODY OF CHRIST OR CHRISTIANS. We should be okay with this.

If you are okay with the above, then we can go to Heb. 7. The reason for Heb. 7 is because, many teachings on tithe says tithe existed before the law which is right BUT Heb. 7 deals with the pre-law tithing and the law tithing. Let's just explain verse by verse to show if Heb. 7 supports tithing or actually taught its ending to the audience. Let me know if you want to start verse one first or I should start first. Thank you.

Ihedinobi: @Goshen360

Please excuse the above comment. I should have rather asked you to reconcile the sentiment in question with a portion of the Bible. So, I'll rephrase my question thus:

"how does the sentiment expressed in that bolded part of your comment agree with 'when the righteous prospers, the city rejoices' (can't provide the part of the Scriptures it's in right now) and Peter's 'love the brotherhood' and Jesus's 'there has never arisen a greater prophet from among the sons of women than John the Baptist, but the least in the kingdom is greater than he' (paraphrased)?"
I will provide the locations of these passages later if need be. I am in no position to do so right now, I'm sorry.
I only expressed my "opinion" in the case I have the right to vote. It's not a sentiment my brother.
~Am sorry, if it reads like a sentiment~
Christianity EtcRe: Why I Am Not Voting For President Obama by Goshen360(m): 5:38pm On Aug 23, 2012
Delafruita: dont you think the decision on who your vote goes to(if you could cast one) should depend on more important things like the economy, medicare, immigration etc than an issue like 2 individuals been allowed to marry?
I understand your statement of 2 individuals being allowed to marry. This is not just 2 individuals having right to marry but two individuals that allows perversion and taking the nation in the way of destruction. Even economy, medicare, immigration and the likes will not work when a nation is on its way to destruction. We should not allow such kinds of right to two perverted people just because we want to win votes. ~Am sorry, this is my stand~
Christianity EtcRe: What Laws From The Old Testament Should Christians Follow? by Goshen360(m): 11:44pm On Aug 22, 2012
^^^
Basically, STUDY from Matthew to Revelation. Matthew to John is called the Gospel because they serve as introduction or foundation to the NT (Acts - Revelation). Matthew to John contains the life, passion of Christ and his words of foundation to the NT because he is the mediator of the NT.......meaning the NT didn't start until the death of Christ and resurrection. So the NT starts from Acts of the Apostles to Revelation. You also need to STUDY the OT (Basically, Genesis to Malachi) because it gives you understanding to the Gospel and the NT but I will advice you give "more" attention/heed to the NT. In all, ALL scriptures is given by the inspiration of God.

Thank you and God bless you.

First to correct your words when you said,
Joagbaje: ... let everyone do ehat he is convinced by. The future will tell.
I do not believe this statement is right in the sense that, the bible is our standard. Everyone cannot do as he/she is convinced. Otherwise, we violate our constitution - The BIBLE.

Now, the first and ONLY question is, WHO AND WHO ARE THE PEOPLE THE BIBLE IS WRITTEN TO? I will prefer you support your answer with one or two bible verse because in the mouth of two or three, the truth shall be established.

After this (your reply to the above question), we go into Hebrews 7 exposition. Thank you sir, God bless you.

What pains me most is that they'll call them DADDY after such extortion.....
Sometimes, I often feel like I should be a pastor/preacher (which I will be in the future), in that country called Nigeria and proclaim the truth of God's word to God's people. Falsehood is really operating in the church of Jesus. I hate falsehood with passion especially when it comes to the things of God.

danwo: @E_monkey

No I did not say such . . .

You are free to follow what floats your boat

Remember "The Old Testament and New Testament are like "The Law of Gravity" versus "The Law of Aerodynamics""

The Old Testament and New Testament just like "The Law of Gravity" and "The Law of Aerodynamics" have their time and place too

You cant fly to the other end of the Earth relying only on "The Law of Gravity", you need the "The Law of Aerodynamics" to lift you and keep you in air, isnt it?

What is this question to Goshen360 on explicit laws about marriage all about.

What are you on about or after
I don't agree he should follow what flows his boat. Only the NT is binding on Christians. Following what flows his boat brings confusion and even curse.

New Living Translation, Heb 8:13
When God speaks of a "new" covenant, it means he has made the first one obsolete. It is now out of date and will soon disappear.

2 Corinthians 3:6 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant--not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Hebrews 8:8 But God found fault with the people and said: "The time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

Hebrews 9:15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance--now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law." Galatians 3:10 NIV.
Christianity EtcRe: What Laws From The Old Testament Should Christians Follow? by Goshen360(m): 10:59pm On Aug 22, 2012
Brother "danwo" is one of the brethren I so much appreciate and respect here on this forum because he says the truth and can be trusted with the word of truth in his heart. I strongly believe from the word of God that, mixing the old and the new testament and served to Christians end up in nothing other than confusion in the body of Christ. Many people thinks I don't believe in the OT. This is misconception about my person and teachings. I believe the OT because like bro danwo says, it conceals the new and the new reveals the old. Without the old, we cannot understand the new. But it was God Himself that used the old till Christ came to guide the people of old. When Christ came and after that, the old had served its purpose and was set aside in order to bring the new. Why then do we keep holding unto the old? This is what the modern day preachers are using to confuse God's people to fleece the ignorants.

Concerning the laws of marriage for the NT, we do not have a stipulated kind of marriage because if we do, we "might" still have a law within the Grace. So, if a Christian is capable of court marriage only, let him/her go ahead. Such is valid. If a Christian is capable of church marriage, traditional or even just a palour small event of marriage, so be it as long as there is two or three witnesses. The idea that Christian "must" marry in the church building is unscriptural.

As for the tithing, I don't see ANYWHERE in the scriptures where tithe is mentioned to Christians to be observed. It is fraud in the name of God. What Christians are to do is giving. When God says tithe, He meant tithe which goes with specific instruction of tithable items. We should stop reading into God's word and interpreting it to suite our own ways. If there is any scriptures saying Christians are to tithe God's tithe from their income, contrary to crops and animals in the OT, God would not have missed it to make it known to the Gentiles who later came into the NT because God didn't miss talking it to the Jews in the OT.

Of-course my brother, these religious leaders had "most" made GOLD out of GOD. They had built for themselves treasure here on earth. They have built their own empire rather than building the KINGDOM. Everyman to himself. Jesus is no longer the focus our meetings. They have built with bricks/sand rather than building with STONE and worst of all, they have neglected the CORNERSTONE thinking they are building with for God. I maintain, there is no such in the Apostolic practices, where the church is centralized and all tithes commanded to one headquarters. This is one of the MAJOR root of the problem leading to the covetous activities. When we talk against them, their worshipers rather than worshipers of God will remind us they are God's anointed. God's anointed stealing people's money? This is ridiculous.

Christianity EtcRe: Why I Am Not Voting For President Obama by Goshen360(m): 8:57pm On Aug 22, 2012
Well, I do reside in the USA and I do not have the right to vote yet. Should I have the right to vote, I will definitely NOT give it to Obama because he sanctioned "gay" marriage - approving the way to destruction for the nation as the number citizen at the moment. It is against my/our faith and for this reason, I will NOT vote Obama should I have the right to vote. This is not about being "black" or racist. This is about the way of perversion. Even though Mitt Romney on the other hand is of the Mormon, if he doesn't support perversion in the way of destruction, I will rather give my vote for him. What then shall I say, I DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE YET. HENCE, I REST MY CASE. ~Glory to God~
Christianity EtcRe: What Laws From The Old Testament Should Christians Follow? by Goshen360(m): 8:47pm On Aug 22, 2012
There is ABSOLUTELY NONE of the OT laws is binding on Christians except for the confused Christians and confused preachers that mixed the OT and NT together to serve it on the table of the Lord. The reason NONE of the OT laws is binding on Christians is that, in the OT that lasted until the death of Christ, God was still dealing with one nation - Israel.

After the death of Jesus, which started the NT (in context, not in book arrangement), the death of Jesus destroyed the middle partition of division and the Gentiles (non-native Israel), was included or engrafted into the NT. Hence, the NT or church consist of both the natural Israel and the Gentiles. And the OT became non effect. When will God institute a new covenant if God still wants to operate in the old. But God took away the old that he may establish the new. Do you then think that God will still use the OT with which he guided a single nation to guide more than one nation? This is the reason for the NT which started in the book of Acts of Apostle where the Gentiles are included/engrafted into the covenant of God.
Christianity EtcRe: Should Christians Support Anti-christ 'israel' by Goshen360(m): 8:31pm On Aug 22, 2012
I wonder why people will clearly read the truth and still argue with the truth in a kind of thread like this. Yes, Israel produced the Messiah but it was in the fulfillment to the promise of God less God becomes a liar and covenant breaker. I have nothing against natural Israel but it is very clear from the word of God that believing Jews and Gentiles together makes the body of Christ - the church. How can God then be dealing with just one nation in a geographical location. What then shall be say? Has God cast away His people? Certainly not. Those who believe shall be saved.
