if na you, you no go pardon your friends? Thats why its called a pardon in the first place. To absolve you of your crimes
It is an outdated ability that gives a President too much power. People like Obama (even he had some controversial Pardons) and Bush used to the right way- to pardon nonviolent offenders like people on bogus sentences just for smoking Marijuana of other drugs. Most Americans I know would rather the President doesn't have that much power.

Let me ask you, if the Nigerian constitution allowed Buhari to pardon his friends, would you be in support? They would loot the country dry and pardon each other.

Fake News Media won't show you these pictures below:
Did you even read the headline of the image you posted? (edit: he's changed it. It read "despite photo op, Trump admin fails to fulfill empty promises to black community). It's almost comical at this point. Lol. And the pardon of Lil Wayne was just a smokescreen for his more egregious pardons (like the pardon of Bannon, who collected money from dumb Trump supporters to "build the Wall" and pocketed it for himself). That's the same tactic Bill Clinton used to pardon his brother in law: pardon a famous person like Lil Wayne and let the media focus on them while the real criminals escape under the radar.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Trump's Twitter Ban: We Showed "Failure" To Police Global Public Discourse -Jack by greenskittles: 9:30am On Jan 14, 2021
I feel the problem with anonymous, decentralized networks is that they're hotbeds for crime- imagine a social network with no moderation at all. Isis and Boko Haram would probably even use it to openly recruit. After all, nobody's there to stop them. At the same time, we also have concerns about balancing free speech with moderating violence. Trump had to be banned, he was too dangerous for a normal, sane society. But the people angry about free speech being suppressed have legitimate concerns. Should we really give one man (Jack Dorsey, Mark Zuckerberg, Seun Osewa, etc) the power to control discussion? Give them the right to be the ultimate judge? Yes, it's their platform, private property, but that kind of sole power makes them the judge and the jury, the ultimate arbiter of public discussion. This whole issue is a real head scratcher.

The number of underage boys that get raped in Nigerian secondary schools is seriously underreported. I remember back then too, we caught one of our mates. Turned out he had been molesting several of them (junior students) and giving them snacks and money to shut up. Hopefully if this issue is concluded properly it will encourage other victims to speak up.

No they can't. They don't have the right/power to do that. It's the police and court that can give them the order
Can't the bank report to the police on behalf of the customer? How was UBA able to threaten the other scammer with account freezing?
Romance / Re: I Reported To Access Bank I Was Scammed See Their Nonsense Reply PHOTOS by greenskittles: 6:52pm On Dec 17, 2020
Most Nigerian banks collaborate with scammers. Especially ecobank... Still allowing customers to open bank accounts without BVN. Was scammed of about 50k a year ago and they did nothing, absolutely nothing. Don't send money to anyone who doesn't have a proven track record in Nigeria, because you can't trust anyone here.

Someone said something on the radio, that it "isn't time to protest yet", because clearly things are not bad enough for everyone, that there are still a lot of comfortable or semi-comfortable Nigerians who can afford to manage and live through the hardship (most of us actually belong to this category). Basically implying that when things get extremely bad, to the point that everyone is affected, even up to the so called "rich people", nobody would tell us to get our pitchforks out to protest. To be honest, he's right, though I'm not sure the point he wanted to make. Because on one hand I agree with the people protesting for a better Nigeria, but on the other hand, we need our lives to go on, the rest of the world isn't waiting for us.

This is why Democrats want the electoral college gone . It is the only thing checking their lunatic populist March to communism .

I don't know if it's just me but Sowore seems to want to make the protest about himself. Like he wants to be the 'face' of some 'revolution'. Or the next freedom fighter for the history books. During the decentralized ENDSARS thing he came with his branded paraphernalia and wanted to change the direction of the protests till the actual protesters pushed him out. I might be wrong but that's the vibe I get from him.

Thanks for checking, I just don't come here anymore for some reasons.

I'm finishing up my first quarter at Stanford this week. It's been incredible. The school is insanely tough and really lives up to its reputation. Feels like I've learned what I would learn in a session in Nigeria in one quarter.

But to be honest, it is fun seeing Donald Trump throwing tantrums and saying all sorts of BS. It has been entertaining for 4 years
It would be funny if he didnt have the keys to the world's largest nuclear arsenal. He's like a child with a gun. If he did what he's doing now in any African country they would've released a press statement to the country telling them to honor the elections or risk sanctions.

Edit: for those who are still shouting fraud, can you give a reasonable explanation why the Trumpublicans are wholeheartedly accepting the results of the House races, where Trumpublicans won 5 new seats, but not the Presidential results (WHICH WERE CAST ON THE SAME BALLOT)?

But how come during Obama govt in which he was the VP he never influenced the govt in favour of Africa if he so much love Africa

Why is he in support of gay marriage and legalisation of abortion?

I've nothing against him though cos his people want him as president

Your home is incomplete without good quality furniture thats why we are here for you
Why is everyone so obsessed with legalization of gay marriage and abortion in Nigeria? Well let me put it to you how he did in the 2012 VP debate. Firstly, be well aware that in 2008 when Obama was running, these were things their platform opposed. They said no to it. But over time, he came to the realization that while his personal Catholic faith is against it, it's not for the government to impose his personal beliefs on others. That's what so many Nigerians, especially the religious loonies, fail to understand. Basically in the debate, he said let God be the judge and not the government. If you're in support of the government banning abortion and LGBT rights, you might not see it this way, but you're no different from the people who want to force Sharia law in the north. You're just upset because it's not your religion that's being imposed on people.

The tantrums Trump keeps throwing on Twitter are annoying me to no end! In 2016 if you remember he said "the electoral college is a disaster for democracy" just before the election started. He was probably anticipating that he would win the popular vote and lose the EC. Funny enough, that same EC was the reason he became President, despite losing by over 3 million votes! Now, because the election isn't going his way, (the same system that got him into office), its suddenly bad and fraudulent. Mail in voting has been used in the US since the 1800s, but because tRump is losing this time then its suddenly a bad thing. I don't know how anybody with a functioning mind can support this man. The annoying part is the deluded Christians on here that think this man has any atom of religiosity in him, and are supporting him for that reason (a man that cannot name one verse in the Bible).

tRump to his supporters: Don't use mail in ballots!

tRump when mail in ballots are being counted: Why are most of the mail in votes for Biden?! Fraud!

Mehn.. Trump has a 600k lead there.. I won't be surprised if it turns Blue... 1.7million yet to be counted.. But the Michigan miracle is possible..
Considering Governor Whitmer's high profile fight with Trump about how to handle the coronavirus and her high approval rating, I was surprised to even see Trump take the lead in Michigan. I think Michigan will go to Biden.
