Islam › Re: Wamakko, Yuguda, Rochas, Give Money To Muslim Converts by hakanai(m): 6:52pm On Nov 16, 2013
LOL!!!! See how journalist can mislead people. Here they say money was thrown at converts.I was in the Mosque and observed the event. The money went to the Justice Mamman Nasir Islamic Centre for Peace and Research (missionary work). So to suggest that it was meant for the converts is rather silly and intent on making the converts look materialistic. The donations was meant for the NGO to continue its preaching activities.Other worshipers were also advice to try and preach the message. Some said they converted because of the way Muslims behave. The Imam also use this to highlight why we should be exemplary in our day to day dealings and actions.
They had there different reasons and views as to why they choose to convert. Non mentioned material or worldly pursuit. We have to give them the benefit of doubt and they were not all Igbos. Some were from the ND and SW.Contrary to the report it was the National Mosque chief Imam who received them.
NAIJA Journalist !!!! na today i know say they can so lie or change facts.
Phoenix619: Governor Aliyu Wamakko and his Bauchi State counterpart, Alhaji Isa Yuguda, both gave N5million each to Igbo natives who converted to Islam yesterday. Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and former Governor of Abia State Orji Uzor Kalu gave N2 million and N1million to the converts.

@topic- very wrong title.

The event took place at the National Mosque in Abuja.
The Chief Imam of the National Mosque, who was represented at the ceremony, announced the cash donation. The converts who were all males within the ages of 25 and 35 years said they accepted Islam because it is a “truthful, peaceful and charitable faith.”

“I was attracted to Islam because of the truth it resonated in me, and I saw the charity of the faith which all its adherents find peace and solace in,” said Ibrahim Ukah, formerly Uchenna Ukah and a younger brother of a fellow convert, Tobechi Ukah, now Abdullahi Ukah.

The commencement of Friday prayers at the mosque was unusually late as the converts were given priority when Islamic rites were administered on them for 30 minutes.

The 18 men from the South-Eastern part of the country were led by the NTA Owerri host of “Islamic calling in Igbo language” Alhaji Muhammad Kabir Orjiegbulam alongside the Board of Trustees, Secretary of the Justice Mamman Nasir Islamic Centre for Peace and Research, Alhaji Ibrahim Biobo Nlomije.

Politics › Re: Borno Christians Accuse Governor Of Negligence, Say Boko Haram Sacked 46 Villag by hakanai(m): 9:23am On Nov 13, 2013
Well,I think the reporting to the governor is definitely out of respect and they trust he would be willing to assist. As for me they shouldn't be blaming anyone. After all the state is in a state of emergency and the military will be glad to respond to there cries if the information is credible. The Governor does not dictate to the army how or when they respond to perceived treats.
Also the group did mention that they had the capacity to respond. I say that same idea is what brought about the civilian JTF. It is the will of the people to act. It has no religious under tone and has seen Muslim youths go after BH sect members and political elements with aggressiveness. So rather than wait for elements of government to act,you have an automatic right to defend yourself. After all the army and civilian JTF na people from another community who have stood up for justice and peace.
I am from Borno if true that this is happening i believe they are not the only people. scores have being killed and it will be unwise at this time to make the problem divisive or political .The civilian JTF is a volunteer group that is responding to treats and purely out of need to protect its community. Why not Gwoza indigents do same, abi they are waiting for other people children to go there and die for them. They have the capacity as they rightly said ,they have also cast doubts on the civilian JTF.It is then proper they set up there own vigilante and defend themselves.Unless they are reluctant and want people to do it for them. For me all comments suggest one thing, they have an inter-religious issue in there mixed community in Gwoza and it is easy for them to label the other faction BH.The army won't wait long to act if facts are there. They are searching for BH camps to destroy. If true they will act on this information. They should be telling the governor about the need to establish there own vilgilante. Except if there true intention is clouded in other grievances they are not making clear.

But on a serious note, if the truth has not been found out, na so so some ppl will be carrying his fake testimony of conversion from Islam to Christianity and what ever horrific atrocities he could have concocted about Boko Haram, all over the net, in order to give the north, and especially much maligned Hausa/Fulani a bad name.
Alhamdullilah, I am happy that this particular fake bubble has been busted - may the bigots feel truly disappointed wink
You can say that again. God will continue to expose the liars. Some people are terrible liars and some are desperate to damn others that they expel common sense and reasonning. No be this man talk say IBB and many more were there sponsors? No be this man talk say they were thought to hate Jesus? His story was stinking with lies from day one. But trust the holy crusaders and anything bad goes with the other side.

I thought INEC cautuin about csmpaign before time. Na wa una don start campaign already? About insecurity can GEJ explain oyel theft despite paying militants. Recently we are graduating to a sea pirate hq. What the 4@ok is the paid militants doing. I also dare him to arrest Dokubo for treasonable comments and even intimidating the legislative / IGP right here in Abuja. Whilst so many others have being brought in and others out rightly bashed by Abati and co.
Anyways i see the nation disintegrating under his nose. What other level of failure can change that gross imcompetence. Last i checked the law remains the law! Otedola,Faruak,Dokpesi,Asari ,Alams etc have committed crimes at various levels yet ignored or pardon making them above the law.
What is the general feeling in Nigeria? Its that hate for each other and where do not exist is that of common hate for another.
The presidency without doubt has being more decisive that of uniting. With his gang always trying to dodge issues by blaming the region, opposition or religion. Look around what is the president excuse for under performing? He holds the national purse, the entire security and above all the people look up to him. Than unite the people he pitch people against each other by allowing all manner of people come up with all manner of ficticious stories just to creat excuses for him always.
So many say Buhari instigates but lets say he did, atleast he had the courtesy to explain he was miss qouted. Remind me where Asari suggest his treasonable comments were miss qouted.
You say the north is insisting on there turn.what difference is that from clarks, asari, biggs,ND harsh comments to the presidency.
I will vote GEJ only when he treats all equally. Where he even starts at home and move to the federation. While he tolerates his pep harassing others he holds others an excuse for his failure.

Politics › Re: Tambuwal Under Pressure To Resign; As APC Reps Withdraw Support by hakanai(m): 10:50pm On Oct 08, 2013
theoctopus: Most of you here dont know anything about Nigerian politics. That there are 360 members does not mean all the members have to be present to impeach the speaker. There has never been a time when all the members were present in the house except maybe at the inauguration. The key factors that determine impeachment are resources and politicking. Those who support Tambuwal do not necessarily love him. People just align themselves to wherever they think suits them most. The moment they begin to loose confidence in Tambuwal not being able to serve their interest, they will dump him. He will be dealt with at the right time. The only reason he is still there is because GEJ is a gentle man. If the president really wants him out, he will be thrown out and even the opposition reps will join to impeach him.
Just like GEJ was not pulling everything to stop Tambuwal from ever being speaker.Question is did GEJ ever succeed in all his ploy against the speaker? Time and again the reps have shown GEJ and co lack any power in there chambers QED. So call it politics, GEJ so far lacks behind Tambuwal as far as the floor of reps is concern. Better GEJ fight govs jare.I bet you the worst GEJ can do is illegally disorganise the house.
That said german may have being strong in the 2nd world war.but her blunders for me remains fighting on multiple fronts at the same time.Gej most know he has to reduce the fronts he is battling.people are confusing him and deceiving him to fight more fronts. He needs to watch it.

^^^^
yes just putting it clearly and stating the likely scenario that has made it a stalemate.I am not disputing your position at all.Just supporting your 2:3 and further showing the slim chance of even making that happen.
Politics › Re: Tambuwal Under Pressure To Resign; As APC Reps Withdraw Support by hakanai(m): 3:21pm On Oct 08, 2013
donphilopus: Out of the 360 Honourable Members, the number of Members to elect or impeach must be up to 2:3 which is 240
looking at the maths it is still not likely he could be impeached easily, because the numbers still don't tally for an out right impeachment. You take the 57 rebel PDP house members and 137 APC members on the fence. what do you have from a total of 360 members left. You get 199 instead of the required 240 for impeachment. That is a wide margin of 41 members. Not forgetting that of the 199 members,15 come from opposition parties outside APC.
Me thinks the nPDP move is more to re-enforcing or consolidating to avoid surprises.Except in this fracas, APC sides with any of the sides. It is a stalemate. huh huh
Nairaland General › Re: Nigeria's First threat assessment discussion group by hakanai(m): 12:20am On Oct 07, 2013
For me i think Nigeria is still largely unchanted. Why is because we still have people using forest and bush to organise and commit crimes on a large scale. I say is time we get a mounted unit not for ceremonial parades but for remote, rural, board monitoring and forested area patrols.the horses are cheap and will cost less grazing in the wild. Now say ypu have an expeditionary unit of 50 armed horse riding troops scout the remote areas one can proudly say no hidden BH camp, armed robbers den, marauding armed nomads or ethnic militias encampment etc.
Before that we need improved communications and a rapid response squad.what annoys me is till date neva heard someone suggest how to respond and how long to respond to any kinda of security issues. Often times is hours.cuttung to say 30mins in naija is enough to countr criminal s to reduce the carnage. Well say it happens to a VIP you will be shock at the swift response and resource allocated.

Alakeogun: I am not the spokesman or is it woman of the police, army, navy, ss, aso rock etc. I am just a concerned Nigerian.

looking at the several killings of pupils, polytechnic undergraduates in the north east of the country, it beats my imagination that no one is shouting or crying fowl to these killing.

Is't only when the United Nations and other international bodies respond that our people wake up to their responsibilities.

i remember sometime ago when some army men and ss people were killed in nasarawa nobody said anything until some quarters started questioning the amnesty international and civil rights group and they started talking

NOW A WOMAN HAS BEEN KILLED BY THESE BASTARDS, THEY SAID SHE IS AN SS WOMAN, WELL I DONT HEAR HAUSA AND I DONT KNOW IF SHE IS;
HOWEVER,
NO ONE IS SAYING ANYTHING, AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL HAS GONE DUMB, WHY sad huh huh huh

PLEASE WHERE ARE THE WOMAN RIGHTS ACTIVIST IN THIS COUNTRY.

i may not have expressed my thoughts well but PLEASE WATCH THIS VIDEO AND YOU COULD FEEL THE PAIN THIS WOMAN FELT AND WHY IS'T THAT WE ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING TO STOP THE KILLINGS IN THE NORTH.

The thing is can you hold this animals accountable like a government? This people deserve to be dealt with but a goverment does that in a more civilized way and not behave like this animals? That said, this people can never have a country not even a state. They can attack communities and areas but because they will never be an authority, they will be dealt with as insurgents, terrorist and common criminals/murderer s they are.

Well we have seen worst and head more lies from the PDP than any other in the history of Nigeria. Right i lack bandwidth and time to list them out but surely they run in the thousands.Including there affiliates in the media. Good example MEND did not do october 1. Dopkesi is the contractor of the bombings. A term is enough for any leader to fulfill his agenda and leave. Boko haram is political! CPC is sponsor of Boko haram. etc If you say CPC is sponsor or am lying how come Dopkesi is still gallivanting and CPC has no single charge or evidence to tie her to Boko haram.yet we have countless link of PDP stalwarts with names identified yet allowed to walk. How about Farouk and Odedola. How about subsidy? We were told hiring militants than equiping the navy and police marine will guarantee security the ND and stop oyel theft. As of today what is the report on oyel theft?horrible.I say if the security man fails to do his job he should be fired, including Tompolo and co.Is a contract and they should key there end of the deal.
