rasputinn: Wooooshh^^^ On this case i have to agree with you on this issue.I just don't understand sometimes how Nigerians think or reason. This thing just happened and already the president is being bashed,Northerners are being blamed, first lady is being accused of blocking airspace,Dana is accused of negligence, sabotage by maintenance staff of the plane, the NCAA boss is asked to retire. For Heavens sake can we please let the crash and safety investigators finish work/findings atleast!!! Any thing, we begin to run mouth and spread demented thoughts from some folks fantasy world all over as if true!! Can we for once just allow things happen normally.Investigations first, volunteer information if any to the investigators and also allow authorized official to talk. All this corner corner Nigerian BB Msg folks and social media deceit is beginning to make truth so difficult to find for a Nigerian. ![]() |
This events happening are made to look worst because we want to print or expose multiple incidence at a go and create the atmosphere of a calamity. At any point or day if you goo around the nation it is only possible that you would get accidents and incidents and if you choose to record and make them all public at an instance then it looks like all is falling apart.Lets be fair and just and not make people panic or lose hope.I am not a supporter of any government.I just feel it is not fair to make people feel in distress and a sense of calamity or overwhelmed by accidents to feel all is lost. |
Our Intelligence agency/Secret police both local and foreign have being in slumber for long time and i think this is when they wake up and show there intelligence and dexterity to use and value for the wages they earn. ![]() FGN needs to take this serious and begin the infiltration of all bodies(groups good or bad, known or secret) in the country and beyond.Anyone that we can reach lets infiltrate and share intel with other nations where they reach. We may not be able to totally eliminate this kind of menace but we can surely control it and minimize its effect.Hopefully with time it becomes extinct. ![]() Government must preempt this moves and counter there activities. At first BH came to revenge yusuf and now they are bombing/killing more people. What ever the reason some how they turn to something else later.Remember the history of cultism in schools, remember the history of the Boko-haram!!I totally don't believe this group is the answer and justice is still being done in many areas and quarters. Please and please we definitely need database of as much Nigerians as possible in Nigeria.people don't have to visit NIMC to register.Government should start collecting all records to profile individuals in this country.Just gather information from Immigration profiles, hospital records,INEC voter details, national ID details, bank records details,FRSC profiles, pension details,government/staff records, judicial records,NCC sim profile,GSM records, certification records, utilities, online registers etc. Then filter/manage them in to individual profile of persons living in Nigeria. We can do this and its do able in just few months. Then we can continue to manage/update it and grow the information.Alot of skilled person unemployed can be recruited to input all this in to a central database. The database is critical and we can't get everyone to register but we can funnel any means government knows to gather peoples profile This will allow better forensic investigations and identifications.Above all profiling of persons of interest to the nation.President GEJ the time has come and you need to unite this nation and segregate the enemies of the state where ever they may be.Even if it be from your friends and from you kinsmen!Honestly i say screw politics and turmoil.People need to know this nation is bigger than them and there wish may not be accepted. That they will also respect that people differ. ![]() I pray for God intervention and strength for our leaders/people to do the right thing. |

congratulation Nigerians!!!! Thank you Nigerian navy for making us all proud. What of the armored vehicle design displayed in Abuja during Late Yar'adua? It was transferred to the army for a joint development on it and further research. It's advisable they stick to it o!With our current situation it would go a long way in helping with security.Since small arms and explosives are becoming more of a treat to peace. Also during Obj an agreement to produce local assault rifles in NIDCON was signed Nigeria & Russia(AK47).I also saw online a locally made rifle designed in Nigeria, along the line it was recalled for some modification.Any chance its finished?I also know we export small arms to some African countries like Niger- eg. pistols made in Nigeria. Anyway good work.We can't keep relying on other nations for such needs. We must make this a continuous thing and move towards upgrading our defense capability locally in most of the areas we can. |

2015: CPC may dissolve into ACN •Why he took over negotiations with ACN, Tinubu •How party broke into three factions | Print | E-mail Written by Taiwo Adisa, Abuja Sunday, 27 May 2012 Share Indications have emerged that the planned alliance between the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) could see the party led by General Muhammadu Buhari dissolving into the ACN ahead of the next general elections. Sources close to the two parties confirmed at the weekend that the leaders of the CPC have been briefed of Buhari’s readiness to dissolve his party into the ACN and that the two parties could then evolve a new name to reflect the development. A source confirmed to Sunday Tribune that the former head of state decided to personally lead the negotiation with the ACN. Insights into meetings held by chieftains of the CPC in Abuja on May 22 and 23 confirmed that the growing division among members of the party had given much concern to Buhari. It was confirmed that the National Chairman of the Party, Prince Tony Momoh, who himself has come under attack from a group within the party which claimed to have suspended him last week, declared at the Abuja meetings that three groups are now battling for the soul of the CPC. The groups, according to the sources, include the Buhari Confidants, the (Buba) Galadima Boys and the Dr. Sule Yahaya Hamman group. Chieftains of the party were already being told of the possibility of its dissolution before the end of the year and the emergence of a new platform in line with the planned alliance with the ACN, a source said. Sources at one of the meetings quoted Momoh as saying that a national convention could be called before the end of the year to ratify the new status of the CPC in line with the planned arrangement with the ACN. The said convention “is expected to mirror the new status of the party for the emergence of new leadership, depending on the way the planned alliance with the ACN goes.” While confirming that the party has been polarised, Momoh was said to have told the meeting that some chieftains were guilty of the developments and that some of those creating problems for the party included those who called themselves “Buhari’s Confidants.” He also stated that some party members who saw themselves as the most powerful also pride themselves as Galadima Boys, while the third group sees themselves as loyalists of Dr. Sule Hamman. The division among the ranks of the party was also said to have informed the discontent among the state chairmen of the party who had orchestrated the suspension of Alhaji Galadima (CPC General Secretary) and Mr. Sule Hamman (Director General of General Buhari’s campaign organisation) whose activities, they believed, led to the failure the party recorded in the 2011 general elections. Leaders of the party were, therefore, said to have come to the conclusion that the party would not only be restructured, but also possibly dissolved into the ACN. According to sources at the meetings, the CPC leaders were told of the necessity of a restructuring ahead of the planned political alliance between the CPC and the ACN. “If the planned alliance works with the ACN, there is the possibility of dissolving the CPC for a newer political party to emerge, depending on the way discussions on the planned political alliance goes with the ACN,” a chieftain of the party was quoted as telling the meeting. On Buhari, it was gathered that the cracks within the ranks of the CPC had increased the frustration of managing the party. A chieftain of the party who confirmed the discontent, especially about the perceived roles of Alhaji Galadima, said some of them could not, however, back his suspension from the party because he (Galadima) was instrumental to their joining the party. “In recent times, Hamman was aware that so many people blame him and Galadima for perceived dwindling fortunes of the party and the loss at the general elections in 2011 by consistently changing candidates’ names. “It is quite clear that the controversies have saddened Buhari and as a results, he has decided to engage in direct consultations and talks with the ACN,” a source said. The planned alliance between the ACN and CPC ahead of the 2011 election collapsed at the last minute over disagreements on sharing of top positions. The ticket was meant to feature a Buhari/Bola Tinubu presidential contest team. Meanwhile, the party is said to have mobilised its state chapters in readiness for any attempt to arrest its 2011 presidential candidate, General Buhari, in respect of statements credited to him when he received members of the party from Niger State on a courtesy visit to him in Kaduna recently. A meeting of the party, which reviewed the planned arrest of the former head of state, resolved to galvanise the party to defend Buhari against any arrest in respect of the controversial statement. http://www.tribune.com.ng/sun/front-page-articles/7402-2015-cpc-may-dissolve-into-acn-why-he-took-over-negotiations-with-acn-tinubu-how-party-broke-into-three-factions |
S’West Pdp Leaders Lobby Tukur Over Marginalisation | Print | E-mail Written by Kunle Oderemi Saturday, 26 May 2012 Share THE leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West are lobbying the national chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur (CON), to quickly assist in redressing the marginali-sation of the zone in the current political dispen-sation. According to them, the people of the area have become what they described as tokenism, after being rail-roaded out of office at different levels. The leaders conveyed their complaints through a goodwill message delivered on their behalf by a former Minister of Education, Professor Tunde Adeniran, at a grand reception held by PDP leaders from the six zones of the country for Tukur in Jada, Adamawa State, last Saturday. A copy of the statement obtained by Saturday Tribune indicated the leaders expressed their belief and confidence in Tukur’s capacity and readiness to “work closely and relentlessly” with President Goodluck Jona-than and the National Assembly leadership to ensure good governance and consolidate demo-cracy. However, they lamented that the South-West was currently facing serious challenges arising from gross marginalisation, which required an urgent attention and action by necessary authorities. “The zone should be treated as a special area of concern, requiring the coverage of extra miles of mobilisation, motivation, reinforcement and con-solidation for it to resume its enviable record of contributing effectively to the party’s progress through democratic activism for which it has always been known,” the leaders stated. While extolling the maturity, sound know-ledge of judgment, discip-line and integrity of Tukur, they declared that the “people of the zone (the current victims of tokenism) believe very strongly that the marginalisation and perceived ill-feelings towards them by the party and government will be addressed. |

2015: Outrage over Jonathan’s perceived ambition On May 26, 2012 · In Headlines 2:03 am By Our Reporter Some eminent Nigerians yesterday expressed outrage over alleged determination by President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2015 Presidency, saying that the President should not abandon his promise to serve one term in office. The indication that Jonathan would throw his hat into the ring was given by his political god-father and Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark, who spoke in an interview to mark his 85th birthday in Abuja Thursday. Clark spoke against the backdrop of the resolution by the 19 Northern Governors’ Forum of Nigeria, NGFN, not to support any presidential candidate from the Southern part of the country in 2015. Apart from Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, individuals who spoke included a PDP member of Board of Trustees, BoT, Yahaya Kwande, Olopade Agoro, former Governor of old Kaduna State, Alhaji Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa, Col Joe Achuzia, rtd, a chieftain of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Alhaji Isiaku Ibrahim, and a Benin- based Constitutional lawyer, Olayinka Afolabi among others. National Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nduka Eya said Jonathan promised Ndigbo that he would spend only five years in office, pointing out that if he has changed his mind to stay longer, he would meet Ohanaeze for re-negotiation, since it was generally agreed that it ‘’is our turn to produce the next president after Jonathan.’’ President Goodluck Jonathan However, Yahaya Kwande dared Jonathan to test his popularity in 2015 saying that the North would not be intimidated by his candidacy, just as an Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Igbozurume said that it was the turn of Ndigbo to produce the 2015 president. We shall meet in the field— Yahaya Kwande I am not surprised that Chief Edwin Clark made that statement. It was the like of Clark , who really brought Jonathan to power. They made him to break the PDP agreement on how presidency would be rotated in the party. And that action by Clark and his likes denied the north the right to contest for presidency in 2011. He is at it today. What he has reportedly said amounts to repeating himself. But what I can say is that we are not shaken by that statesment. We shall meet in the field. Opportunity for PDP’s defeat — Balarabe Musa Former Governor of old Kaduna State and Chairman of the Coalition of Nigerian Political Parties, CNPP, Alhaji Balarabe Musa said Jonathan had the “inalienable right’’ to contest any election, adding however that it was for those opposed to him to come together and rally behind a candidate that could defeat him. “President Jonathan has the inalienable right to contest the 2015 general election, but you know that he has no morality; he is not on any moral high ground to do so. This is a man who defied the zoning arrangement of his party even though he was a signatory to the decision that the south would rule for eight years before it would return to the north for another eight years. Clark has right to express his views——Isyaku Ibrahim We are in a democracy and everyone has the right to say what he feels. Clark has the right to express his own views on national issues. The president also has the right to do whatever he wants, but I cannot say anything, because Jonathan has not said that he will contest. I am in CPC and they are in PDP. Every individual has the right to say what he likes because we are in a democracy. The statement was reckless and ill-timed—Olopade Agoro The statement credited to Chief Edwin Clark is unexpected of an elder statesman. It was a reckless statement because Jonathan has not been able to have a focus since he was elected and someone is talking about 2015. I will say that bit was a reckless and ill-timed statement. And a statement like that is capable of setting the country aflame and also breed necessary passion. Jonathan’s presidency is already a threat to the nation. This kind of statement at this time is capable of bringing down his government. Olayiwola Afolabi, a Benin based constitutional lawyer and Notary Public also asked the Ijaw National leader, Chief Clark to allow Nigerians decide the political fate of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015. Afolabi said that although the President has the right to contest the 2015 presidential election, Nigerians were yet to savour the dividends of democracy since he assumed power a year ago as all basic infrastructures that would have bettered the lives of Nigerians have gone comatose. “It is only Nigerians that can decide whether he will contest or not. He has messed up the judiciary particularly with the way he is handling the Justice Ayo Salami case. Virtually all basic infrastructures such as power, education, health etc, e have gone comatose. This is time for governance, not 2015 — Anthony Sani, ACF I am not aware that Chief Edwin Clark now speaks for President Jonathan. This is because he is not the spokes man. As a result,I cannot have a take on the basis of what he claims to say for the president. However, it bears repeating that this time is not for politics of 2015,but for governance.I thought Mr President would be allowed to concentrate on the task of delivering on the promise of democracy instead of pushing him into politics of 2015 within one year of his inauguration. It is too early to forget that President Jonathan told the world in Addis Ababa that four years were enough for him to deliver. Abu King Shukuwa Peoples Democratic Party stalwart, Chief Abu King Shukuwa said the constitutional right of President Goodluck Jonathan to run for the 2015 presidential election is not questionable but noted that it behoves the PDP to either decline his candidature or offer him the ticket. His words, “Everybody in Nigeria as a Nigerian is free to contest for the presidency because the constitution of the country guarantees that, but whether he emerges or not depends on the party. But one thing is certain, he will definitely not enjoy the support of all Nigerians. Even in Bayelsa State, there will be people who will not support him. ”I for one will not support him, but if he picks the party’s ticket, I will vote for him as a true and loyal party man.” Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nduka Eya Ohanaeze has come out with its stand about the president and there is a book in which our President General, Chief Ralph Uwechue, had analyzed since three years ago. We do not want to dabble into politics, but the fact is that when Jonathan was contesting, he said he will only do only one term. That was what he said. So, the stand of Ohanaeze about presidency 2015 is clear. These are facts. If Jonathan changes his mind which he has a right to change as a citizen, our position has always been consistent. Equality of zones as envisaged in geopolitical creation by Karibi-Whyte committee on the review of the Constitution is that the present geopolitical zones should remain: South-South, South East, South West, North East, North Central and Northwest. And it has been operational and they call it conventional. So, Igbo people supported Jonathan for the same argument that this project called Nigeria belongs to all of us, and that at 52 years, a section of this country has monopolized the leadership of that master-key position called the president. If he wants another term, we have to renegotiate. |
Apart form the USA internal dimension,The issue of insecurity around oil producing countries and route. The USA is turning to the Americas, especially Canada for oil.Since Canada is expanding her ability to explore and export her tar-sand oil to her neighbor USA.The ease, security and proximity will go along away in changing the equation to travel to trouble zones(middle east,Africa etc) for oil. |
Gbawe: This is a very balanced take on issues. Number 1, is entirely correct and the main point of the thread and the topic of article even attest to this even if some want to make everything about the mention of Buhari.^^^^^ Just kept reading until i got to this your post. All i can say is Gbam !!!!!! You made it clear precise and simple for the reasoning folks who think straight. In addition to that i maintain that a split or SNC before the next elections.I know what am saying. If you do the maths for all the likely out comes, all you see is a section of the nation feeling left out and possibility resorting to violence, rebellion etc.The body language.which ever way the victory moves, there will be implications.Unless God helps and the winner is swift, diplomatic, action driven and decisive,Nigeria may not be same or together. Buhari is not the issue here.Sanusi is just trying his best to distance himself from Buhari in other to be more acceptable else where. He knows without rigging, intimidation and vote buying. He is not nothing close to Buhari!!! Especially in the North. |
erefaa: I see this as anoda way of extorting money from pple.initialy, wen doz parking lines were drawn, pple parkn in them and the officials confrontd doz who ddnt park properly.d orderliness wz already obvious bt now that it has grown to d stage of paying per every 30mins,dts so unfair.y must we always copy wat d western world does wen we r not ready.over there, dey hv other comfortable means of transportation like trains bt we are stuck wiv buses and cars.pple wld rather buy their out cars because cabs r expensiv 2 hire.still we can't even enjoy usin our personal cars.ds country sef.^^^that part is sick and crazy. If you work around any area marked for tolls on parking,It will cost you 450 for a day!!!! |

For me just soak the garri abeg wetin be bread made of cassava?See i ave one thing with this and that is you can't force people on things especially what they should eat.People should have options. It is up to companies and other pastry makers to come up with snacks and other things made of cassava enough to lure people in to tasting and thereby consuming further. Before we know burger? Na person bring am and market am.Till e become popular. So same can be done for the cassava.make meals and end products people will like and patronize not inject it by force in peoples choice of food. My mother is diabetic and i also look out for meals like this that can lead me to such complication. That said i am not in support of making it mandatory or law that we most mix it in anything. If i want wheat i should eat wheat and if i want cassava i should have cassava.Who said cassava no dey sell for Naija sef?I though the idea was to increase production and export this cassava to increase foreign money. Now na us go chop the excess cassava again by force. We are ranking high in cassava production and we eat all the cassava we consume without exporting much.So how does anything change here?At a time i know we are 2nd producers of cassava world wide and we also consume almost all of it.Obj suggested we increase production and process to maximize it for exports!!!Little has changed since that episode of cassava production as processing has failed the farmers and exports didn't work too!So abeg allow us soak gari, make egba, fufu, alibo etc and stop all this corner corner!!!! |
Biafra4tharmy: It depends on many factors. Whether GEJ wins the election or not. If an Igbo/Biafran man^^^^ funny fellow!!! |
Logic Mind: only the SS^^^^Daft/foolish comment.Since anyone who does in your opinion is instantly disowned and label as Northerner or westerner by your kind abi!!! where is the freedom in persons like you who stigmatize your own for voicing out a different view from yours? Honestly i promised to stay clear insulting the person of the president and i am doing my best to hold that intact.I believe insulting him is wishing him that as it may.So i rather pray for him or wish him well else i keep mute.I am also not okay with the damning insults some people use on him. It's extreme and should be more subtle and constructive.Make sense than make him look disconnected always and lacking authority over matters of the nation. |
okay now you know. The insecurity is not like you picture it.This states are big and vast in some cases.meaning not all places can be bombed. So the treats are almost like you being unfortunate in a case of robbery.Lastly i expect the common survival instinct applicable in most places, will do just fine. Then i suggest you keep tab on current events. That apart Most states in Nigeria are peaceful. You need to ensure,as usual a place in GRA if any or VIP zones or security zones(but becareful of proximity since they are BH targets in most cases). As it is norm that crisis will hardly get there or have quenched before passing there. It most not be christian dominated areas only. Also the secret of surviving crisis is not moving when it happens. As most victims die on transit than in hiding or staying indoors. My opinion sha!Zamfara and Sokoto rarely have issues of crisis and if any they are usually inter political party and hardly temper with other persons.Stayed in Sokoto and i enjoyed my stay.Is quiet and people just mind there business. |
Now am confused and hardly understanding the twist!!!!! ![]() |
odumchi: It would be nice if you suggested some.Bura people of southern Borno and evirons!!!margi of adamawa,Borno and yobe. All this people have over a milliuon in population!!! |
^^^^ criminal boko haram i suspect!!! It is better we begin to categorize them as they come.We have three types and this one fits the criminal version of Boko haram. |
