Help! I am about to finish my 300L stage in one of Nigeria state polytechnics but I am losing many opportunities due to my inability to speak fluently in English language. Although, I am good in typing/writing and I can compose my self in good English in my brain but it is very difficult whenever I open my mouth.

The easiest way out is to keep company with people who speak good English in their normal day-to-day life. They should be made to know that they can correct you if you are wrong anytime, since many people don't like being corrected hence people don't correct them.

The second way is to combine reading books and watching movies. It will also help your speed of processing words. This will improve your vocabulary and you'll start seeing some changes. It's time consuming though.

A combo of all of them would make your journey smooth.

Even when walking, I avoid these trucks, if not because of anything, then those large tires and the weight they carry and how it can crush you should make one cautious.

An aspiring President who tells you that all he wants to do in 8 years is to end the almajiri system in Northern Nigeria and ensure that 90% of those children are enrolled in Western schools knows the solution to Nigeria's problem than the one who promises constant power supply, end to insecurity, $1-1naira in 8 years.

The former aspirant would not win with such manifesto, so we are left with the latter politicians who campaign in poetry and govern in prose.

This is my third journey and I've vowed not to take that drug. Seriously, even without it I struggle to get through each day without one issue or the other.

Why are whites so obsessed with what they eat? I do understand the need, but not the obsession. Like "I'm suddenly 1kg overweight and I have to go on a diet even though I'm pregnant" type of obsession.

There are times you let go and live, and there are times to get serious but they always count calories and analyse where the food is from and how it is cooked etc.

For me it's the obsession that's a turn off. I'm in this forum of pregnant women, and a lot of them have been told that only a certain amount of weight is okay to add during pregnancy. Halfway through, they are panicking if they are not gaining enough or gaining too fast, forgetting that they are pregnant and each individual is different.

By the way most lose that weight after birth. Some even go as far as dieting while pregnant. Of course it doesn't mean one should eat like a horse, but satisfying your cravings once in a while, pregnant or not won't kill you.

Okay, end of rant.
