To make the law the law na one thing, to enforce am na another. Shebi dem talk say make we no dey smoke for car inside traffic? i still dey bass my life away, they should designate smoking joints and we will take it from there. Na smoke dey cause all the traffic abi na smoke dey cause all the potholes and bad roads? Worse still na smoke make them dey rob people all night for third mainland in my very before? stewpid fools with misplaced priorities. I have no qualms about those laws, they should keep churning them out. Very soon it will be like the Criminal Code Act where the police sef no sabi half of the laws contained in the enactment, na today?

Politics › Re: Okorocha Knocks Out Nude Clubs In Imo by hardbody: 12:51pm On Nov 01, 2012
The only outcome of this is that the strip clubs will be further driven underground, made a lot more expensive and only the bigger boys will be able to find where there are and go there to satisfy their desires. If you doubt this, ask Fashola and co, all teh strip clubs i ever knew in Lagos, particularly off and along Allen avenue are still functioning, a few changed their names and started charging higher, but all the trips are still there.

Okorocha is probably doing well ( i deliberately do not follow 9ja politrics) however i think he should do a lot more in those areas that will affect the citizenry positively.

If a young lady decides that is how best to live her life, i have no qualms about it, if a man (either young or old) decides to patronize an existing market, good for him. Its all perception.

I saw the error too as I am sure most others did, I simply let that pass because I understood the intent and this is not an English grammar class. I am certain most others felt the same way too.
Christianity Etc › Re: Happy Halloween! Are You Going To Do Anything Today? by hardbody: 2:28pm On Oct 31, 2012
I can only assume that this thread is meant for 9ja peeps in diaspora and friends of 9ja. Really and trully, we do not have the Halloween stuff yet around us, but i am certain that in another coupla years, it will catch on, just the same way Valentine caught on and today we are doing beyond what the western world is doing. In the meantime, i can assure you that there will be a few Halloween parties scattered in clubs mostly around Lagos, nothing much will happen. As for me, i am yet to get the hang of it yet, perhaps when i do, i will determine whether it is worth my time at all.
Career › Re: The Minimum Salary A Wise Graduate Should Not Decline Nowadays. by hardbody: 2:22pm On Oct 31, 2012
richarts: Okay cool. Lets use your description. An unemployed graduate lives in Ikeja and has an opportunity to work at VI, what kinda salary should he not decline for a start?

People can also share their ideas and experiences.
Is the amount expected all-in? would there be subsidized lunch?, will the office provide staff bus? will there be an HMO arrangement to treat you and your family (if any) when you fall sick?, If all of these are in place, Ikeja resident working in VI should not do below between 80K and N100k per month. Anything lower than that will leave you with nothing after all other overheads. Especially if you have folks to fend for and you do occasional beers. My views.
Romance › Re: I Cheated And Lied But I Am Remorseful. How Do I Get Him Back? by hardbody: 11:17pm On Oct 30, 2012
Y'all are making it sound like she was the Jew that impaled Christ. I had a similar experience years ago, my partner cheated and infact did not confess or admit to anything, I confronted her with incontrovertible facts and evidence, we talked things over, I forgave her and years down the line, she has not cheated again, on the contrary, whenever I did, she forgave me because I gave her the chance of a lifetime. If God himself took such a tough stance, who amongst us can stand? Confession is half the problem solved, I will not indict her but hope she sticks to her new life. If I were the bro in question, I will forgive and give her a second chance. There is no guarantee that the next lady will not do worse. Just my thinking
Imagine say a 'Hurricane Abimbola' is heading for Ekiti State in 3 weeks.. First and foremost;

1. Prophet T.B Joshua will prohesy the hurricane.

2. Ekiti State Governor will hold a press conference advicing the people of the state to remain calm as government is working hard to see how they can tackle the situation.

3. National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) will grant an interview on Channels TV and AIT saying that they are well trained and prepared to handle the crisis. That they are untop of the Situation.

4. The Federal Government will wait for the Hurricane to first land and wipe out Ekiti State then;

- Hold a day of National Mourning and Prayers and order the flag be flown at half mast.

- Visit the disaster location for a first hand assessment of the damage.

- Visit the survivors camp and share relief material (Mosquito nets, rice and
Indomie)

- Set up a committee to investigate the Hurricane and see how we can prevent future hurricanes from visiting Nigeria.

- Release billions of Naira (on Paper) for disaster management.

- Sack the Minister of Water Resources for failing to contain the water.

- Commend the State Governor, NEMA, Red Cross and other emergency services unit for their quick response.

5. The Senate willl hold an emergency session and condemn the 'Hurricane'.

6. Churches around Nigeria will hold crusades and Programmes with Titles like 'May Hurricane wipe out your enemies'.. 'Calming the Hurricenes in your life'.. 'Finding the Rainbow in your Hurricane'.. e.t.c..

7. M.I Abaga will release a single about hurricanes.

8. Femi Falana (SAN) will sue the Hurricane, F.G and Ekiti State government for their poor handling of the Hurricane.

9. A thread will be launched on NAIRALAND and be put on the frontpage and will hit over 20 pages in its first 6 hours.

10. CPC, ACN, APGA and others will blame the PDP and Jonathan for the Hurricane.

11. Jokes about BOKO HARAM claims responsibility for the Hurricane will go viral on Facebook, Blackberry Messenger and Twitter..

12. Many People will change their Blackberry Display Pictures to 'Hurricane Pictures' and their status will read.. #Hurricane Things..

All this and the people wey the hurricane actually affect go just siddon dey suffer..
13. Someone will come to Nairaland and say it is the sign of the end time

On Point. I drove through the bridge today (As i have done in the past decade and more) and believe me, except there is something the eye cannot see, the bridge has not changed on bit. All the bumps and all are still there, it is not even as if they patched major parts of the bridge. I am not impressed at all at the level of work done. Maybe they strenghtened some joints, but would that be justifiably done at the contract sum and the amount paid? I am just asking oo, i am not an engineer, infact to even get credit in physics was 'war'.

Romance › Re: 13 Signs Your Friend Is In Love With You by hardbody: 1:30pm On Oct 24, 2012
mitchyy: Here are some common simple signs to detect if your friend likes you more than a friend.

1. Your friend is very happy and lively when you are together. You can see it on his or her eyes.

2. Your friend is always available for you, he or she will even cancel an appointment for you.

3. Your friend is excited when you made a phone call, he or she will not even attempt to cut you phone conversation.

4. Your friend is always looking for you without any reason.

5. Your friend will ask you who is your crush or what do you want to a boy or girl, and if you ask why, your friend will just tell you that someone was asking.

6. Your friend is inviting you to eat outside or watch movies together.

7. Your friend will try to make you jealous to know if you care.

8. Your friend will do the things you like even though he or she doesn’t do that before. Your friend will only do that because of your company.

9. Your friend was touching you or holding your hands.

10. Your friend was asking about your family and yourself and your plans in the future.

11. Your friend will not run out of questions and stories for you. Even if your friend is a shy type, your friend will make a way to have something to talk about, even if its repeated many times.

13. You will catch your friend staring at you. Because when a person is in love, it’s very difficult to control looking at someone he or she likes.

After you see the signs and If you like your friend to be more than a friend, you can wait until your friend confirm it to you. If your friend becomes extra sweet and thoughtful, became extra sweet and thoughtful also, that way, your friend will have courage to tell you what he or she feels.

If you don’t like the acts of your friend and you just want to maintain the friendship, distance a little, but not too much, that will give your friend a signal that you don’t like a relationship more than friendship.

I do all of this to you, but still do not categorize you as a friend, so where do i fit in.

pro01: Maybe you should define who a "Lagosian" is. If by that, you mean 'indigenes' of Lagos State, then maybe you should know that you fools have not contributed even up to 1% of the wealth/revenues/commerce that makes Lagos what it is. What percentage of the properties and businesses in Lagos is owned by you lazy fools that think you 'own' Lagos?

Without the non-Indigenes, Lagos State would be as wretched as Ebonyi and Gombe et al. Some of you need to put on your thinking caps helmets. "Go back to your village" bla bla bla. . . Only dimwits would say stuff like that.
A case in point is Lagos between December 25 and January second week of each succeeding year. Bros i feel you die

@ OP, the simple truth is that we offered them our calabar beaus, those babes phocked the living day light outta their players, they came into the game with half strength.

This strategy is working, i think we should take a strong team of our girls (calabarians) to the AFCON competition and be sure to freely give them out to our opponents before any game.

ItsModella: If there is one thing I hate about the court system in Nigeria, is the way they adjourn cases. December 20 is too far way, dammit!!!
At a time like this, it is better to do a proper job of investigation and prosecution. Criminal matters are the hardest for the prosecutor and the easiest for the accused. At law, the prosecutor must prove everything while the accused is under no obligation to prove anything other than innocence, indeed, even if accused refuses to utter a word in defense, the prosecution may still fail if he fails to prove his case beyond reasonable doubt. They should be left in miserable conditions in detention first until the DPP is through with their files and they are charged to the High Court. My fears are, what happens if the prosecution fails to prove it's case, just my inner fears.

JOHNBULL4040: TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

MY NAME IS JOHNBULL. ONE OF MY COUSINS WAS AMONGST THE FOUR YOUNG MEN GRUESOMELY BURNT ALIVE IN ALUU.

AS GOD IS MY WITNESS, I INTEND TO AVENGE HIS/THEIR DEATHS!

WHAT HAPPENED TO THESE YOUNG MEN IRRESPECTIVE OF WHETHER THEY COMMITTED A CRIME OR NOT, IS BY EVERY HUMANE STANDARD, VERY DISTURBING AND BEYOND BELIEF.

WHAT THESE ALUU PEOPLE DID TO THEIR FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS CLEARLY SUGGEST THAT THEY ARE A VERY SICK COMMUNITY.

FROM THE VIDEO WE ALL WATCHED, NOT EVEN ONE PERSON RAISED A FINGER TO HELP THESE POOR BOYS.

EVEN ANIMALS ARE NOT SLAUGHTERED THIS WAY.

I HAVE ASSEMBLED A 30-MAN SQUAD TO GO INTO THE ALUU COMMUNITY AND MASSACARE EVERYONE IN SIGHT.

I HAVE ALSO INSTRUCTED A SPECIAL TEAM TO FIND AND SHOOT THE VC OF UNIPORT FOR SUPPORTING THE BRUTAL KILLINGS OF THESE BOYS.

I AM ONLY GIVING THIS ADVANCED WARNING TO THE VC OF UNIPORT, AND THE ALUU COMMUNITY, JUST TO TORMENT THEM, THE WAY THEY TORMENTED THESE 4 YOUNG MEN.

I WILL ADVICE THE POLICE AND OTHER SECURITY OUTFITS TO PLEASE STAY OUT OF THE MATTER DURING THE OPERATIONS, THE WAY THEY MADE THEMSELVES UNAVALIABLE DURING THE MURDER.

ANYONE WHO DELIBRATELY INTERFERS, WILL BECOME A LEGITIMATE TARGET BOTH DURING AND AFTER THE OPERATIONS.

FOR THOSE WHO DOUBT THIS WARNING, PLEASE WAIT & SEE!!

PLEASE DIRECT COMMENTS TO : johnbull4040@yahoo.com

I first look at the back seats to ensure no one had managed to enter the car hiding and awaiting my entry. Depending on the time of the day, i may or may not wear my seat belt, but i remove my jacket, change from my shoes to 'palms'(i hope i got the spelling right), I select the best music i will like to listen to depending on my mood (like this evening i am already feeling like its gonna be Fela all the way), I arrange my cigs and my drinks by the side, plug on my phones and any other gadgets (of course i put them out of reach of third parties) and finally i ensure my .45 COLT is within a seconds reach, i then drive off. I do not need to adjust any mirrors since they will usually remain in the state i last left them

By the way for avoidance of doubt, judges are a special breed whether we like it or not and by the laws of the land protected from contacts with ordinary people. This being the case, how do you then expect the CJN to drive in traffic? You guys had better realize that there are exceptions to all rules. How many of you have ever met a judge one on one, gone close enough to shake their hands or seen them at parties where all other people get together to have fun? People just come to this forum and start exercising their right to freedom of speech by spewing illogical stwepidity.

Fashola himself knows what's up and can't thread where angels themselves are scared to walk. So you guys can get as angry as you like and if you have the guts, send your papa to go and arrest her. I guess you are yet to to be caught and tried for contempt. That woman will purge all of una of the contempt wey dey worry una for head. Mtcheeeeewwww

BUSH MAN: so what is the point of the BRT lane then? if it can be used some times.. well i guess in nigeria its one rule for ordinary citizens and another rule for the chief judge, wonder how she will judge this type of case in her court if it was an ordinary citizen
In the event of fire or other emergency will it be legal for the fire service to use BRT lane in other to beat traffic and get to the fire point faster? Just asking and trying to reason why the law should not make exceptions if it didn't or are we trying to be stiff necked and just make comments?
