IYA NGBALI: Kenny is too lousy for my liking,at times he behaves like a baby,Dayo Adeneye D1 is the BOMB,he is my main man, cool, calm and simple
Spot On. I could not have said it better. He does not to me, have the equanimity and seriousness that CEOs are made of. Perhaps he will learn. I hope he does, forthe sake of his Brother in Law

chrisosi: STUPIDITY is when you don’t have a bicycle and you give your last penny to your pastor to buy a jet.......
MUMU is when you can’t pay your children’s school fees and yet have money to contribute to your church to build expensive schools which your children will never attend..
IGNORANCE is when you believe it when your pastor tells you not to live a worldly life, yet he enjoys all the best things in the world;the fine houses, cars, jets, babes etc, while you
are waiting till you get to heaven to enjoy your own....
IDIOCY is when you refuse to take your very sick child to the hospital because your pastor said you should
not do so, yet that same pastor secretly runs to USA for medical
attention any time he has a headache...
KOLO is when you see a poor beggar on the road and you refuse to give
him 50 naira out of the 5000 naira in your pocket because it is your tithe money....You
YOU are a zombie when you trek, dance and gallivant for 30 kilometers under the hot sun sweating and
smelling like shit during your revival program, while your pastor is inside a full option, factory fitted air-
conditioned state of the art SUV with
his delectable wife slow driving along the road.
Stop worshiping your pastors!!! Stay focused on Jesus The author and finisher of your Faith. And learn to study the word .

Family › Re: The Most Important Lessons Your Parents Taught You? by hardbody: 11:52am On Dec 12, 2012
Never to promise a girl marriage and disappoint
Never refuse to pay for sex if i ever made a committment to it
Be sure my fist salary takes me through the whole month else I will continue borrowing ad infinitum
Always strive to be the best
Let your impact be felt wherever you find yourself
In friendship remember to make room for quarrels (keep some secrets as friends will invariably quarrel sometime)
In quarrels, remember to leave a chance for settlement (You never know when you might need that guy again)
The tiny fish that doesnt take care to be careful will never grow into a big fish

Honestly my folks taught me so much and they are still teaching me. Mom and Dad, see you guys soon this December.
Romance › Re: I Noticed This With Ladies? by hardbody: 11:41am On Dec 12, 2012
kulyie: when women say the truth u get defensive by insulting her to make yourselves feel better, let me ask u a question,i know you will never admit it,but from facts all over nairaland, its true.why do u want to be friends with a girl? Date her, when you date her, what are your intentions, have s#x with her,and if it is marriage, why do u marry? Am sure all of u will be quick to say children, love, companion, friendship and all your lies, but d undiluted truth is that the most important reason at d back of your minds which you dont want to admit is S E X. its all about the three letter word.u act like u cant live without it
Let us even assume for purposes of this discussion that you are right. What is wrong in wanting to have just SE.X. Quite a number of ladies i know (note i said ladies not girls like you)also want nothing other than great SE.X. No committments, no strings attached, nothing else. I have like 2 of them on the floor below mine. THey make no issues about all these minor things that some of you girls loose sleep over. SE.X is an over the counter commodity, you could almost always get one whenever and wheerever you want it, so it simply shows a level of ignorance and immaturity when you girls sound as if it is one hell of a big deal. Everyone loves to phock both males and females. Get it?

Guk: If you have every been a manager of men and material, you would know that you have to take unpopular but yet, right decisions.

It is only a mad man that will allow a mad man to carry him on Okada on 3rd Maiinland bridge; Ikorodu Road; Apapa Oshodi Expressway and any other dual carraigeway anywhere in the world.

Instead of us protesting for the right things like Light Rail and other means of intra neighbourhood transportation, we are asking for aberration (something that should not have bn there in the 1st place)
I have not really travelled that widely. So we have 3rd mainland bridge, ikorodu road, apapa-oshodi expressway in other parts of the world? Please what countries are those sharing these landmarks with us?

I am on the weird side of Nairaland again. Pray what is wrong with a woman (single or married) drinking alchohol. We either have a bunch of kids in here or we are in a village square in a rural setting where the king and some laid back advisers are making the laws. There will be an issue only when wify stops drinking alchohol, then i will know i have problems on my hands. Infact, if you cannot sit out and down a coupla drinks with me, we are simply not meant for each other. I believe in hanging out, partying and doing all stuff with wify by my side. If she doesnt drink at all, by the time she finishes her bottle of coke, she will say oya let's go home. I refuse to live such a boring life. Tufiakwa

Nairaland General › Re: What Is So Special About December? by hardbody: 10:19am On Dec 07, 2012
SELFWORTH: I don't think anyone is claiming He was born in December. We choose December as a month to celebrate Him.
Please read the posts, most if not all that posted along those lines claimed he was born December 25. Let us even take this a bit further, you have chosen to celebrate him on December 25, have you ever borthered to enquire into why that date was chosen? what is the real significance of that celebration. I assume you read bible sometimes, if you do, the MAN you guys are celebrating did not celebrate his birthday neither did his disciples after him. He also left no instruction that he be celebrated, however he said that his death should be commemmorated, that is what i expect practical christians to do.

Do not get me wrong, i cut out the christmas spirit in it, but i hit the villa big time, its our family reunion and all generations of the K...U's both home and in the diaspora come back for this reunion. Not also forgetting the beautiful feelings and emotions of catching up with old gists from various members ofthe extended family. Like someone said, its a month like any of the other months but being the 12th, it comes with a lot pay, 13th month, early salary payments, bags of rice, oil etc from the office, appreciation from customers, a lot of armed robbery, accidents, etc. Its just a perculiar month sha

You guys are not getting it. Nigeia as a geographical entity will become 100 years counting from the 1914 amalgamation in 2014. Gaining independence in 1960 does not mean we had no Nigerian Nation before then. I may be wrong though, but that is my understanding especially given the slight suggestion to 1914 in the SaharaReport write up

Car Talk › Re: Detergent Or Liquid Soap For Car Wash? by hardbody: 7:11pm On Dec 06, 2012
Siena: Another result of not reading the Owner's Manual for your car. huh

Detergents and washing-up liquid are NOT meant for paintwork. It way too harsh, and strips of the top layer of lacquer. The paint will become dull, and flat, lacking shine. You're meant to either use car shampoo, car wash and wax, or just plain water. NEVER household detergents. which contain acids that will kill your paintwork.
Spot On Bro. THose times when i have the privilege of doing the cleaning myself, i use ONLY water. I shine the requisite parts with wax later.

Na wa 4 these guys oo.

Please make yourselves relevant first and see what comes afterward. I use myself as an example. I have been on at least 3 key jobs, Bank, telco and presently non-bank financial services. In none of the jobs did i know anyone, i sent in my CV, got shortlisted, attended interviews and got the job. In all three jobs.

This pessemism aint gonna take you guys far. If you do not have a good degree/certificate and your CV does not represent a serious person, that 'big oga' will smell your mediocrity from afar and will tell you how there is embargo on recruitment and how everything else is working against your employment. Guys let us be optimistic for once.

My only regret is that this bit came out a bit too late today, i would have used it to review my CV which i shipped out today in an effort to further change career industries.

Its also the month when Igbo man spends or squanders all the money he has been saving from january.
Two major lies arising out of ignorance:

1. Jesus did not die in December, neither was he born in December
2. I dont even finish my December salary during the period, and yes, i travel heavy, spend, make merry and return to base in the second week of January to start a new year. Reason before you start typing, next time, that is.

His achievements are numerous. He didn't go to prison for corruption, but for treason. He was made finance minister after his 3 years in prison. For the record, I'm not Yoruba.
But I've got a great deal of respect for him.

Jarus: That's why you have to work very hard in getting 2.1, if not First Class.

That, at least, gets you invited for tests, where you have the opportunity to prove yourself.

Apart from the social status it confers on one, my next most important driving force in striving for a good grade in the university was increasing my competitive edge. I knew there were many 2.1's out there, so I can't afford not to do better and get a step higher. I literally went for kill.
Spot on. i took it a step further by getting many conceivable higher degrees and professional qualifications to keep me ahead of the best competition. With God, it has been very helpful. There was a time my company tried so much to relieve me but the Board wanted to know 2 things, is the next person better qualified and more experienced? Was i doing my job? answers to both questions made me retain my seat. And more importantly, GOD

collinsfbi: I really feel your pains but let me ask you just only one question, do you know God or rather what is your personal relationship with God? Nothing good comes easy, retrace you path back to God, don't look at your condition with ordinary eyes though there thousand of jobless graduates out there with better grades than yours but have nothing to eat, yours is not an exception but try and give God a chance in your life, He will break every personal and family curses and covenants’ of stagnation in your life and you will smile in no time. It is not all about looking for job, it is all about you getting a job through God. Try God and you will never be the same again.

Gbamm over n out
Bros, you guys baffle me a lot. Must everything be traced to witches and wizards in the family? The truth is, the OP is not connected and secondly there are many qualified people going after too few jobs. If you have contacts, just let him know, do not ascribe lack of job or slow progress in life to haters at home. It may be possible that this could be the case, but it does not always answer all the questions as to why one is not making steady progress in life.

@OP, do not taint your hands and enslave your spirit by going into drugs or anything negative. Search for jobs online (including NAIRALAND) and post your CV to Jobberman (Google that). I have held down a few jobs, and still on one currently, i did not get any of them by knowing anybody, i just applied myself and guess what, i will never claim to be a saint. God will answer you in his own due time.

Death is a necessary end and it will come when it wil come......Williams Shakespeare in Julius Ceaser.

Going a bit philosophical, the Holy Book reminds us that all living are conscious that they will someday die, so whatever our hands find to do while we are alive, we should do it with all our might. Little wonder i strive to be the best in all that i do, be they positive or negative.

I dont use the word RIP. But i will surely miss that man who wanted to 'check out' way back when i was still tender. I hope his family and friends will bear the irreparable loss while continuing to make permanent the footsteps he left on the sands of times..
